Does the ST forum scan user-uploaded attachments?

On a related note, and because of recent observation, I have a question.

Does the ST forum / community site scan user-uploaded files a.k.a. attachments for malware / trojans / viruses ?

Since this forum makes it easy to embed graphics (like screenshots) directly into a post, I never download and open any attachment that is not text format. Posts with e.g. alleged screenshots attached as image file look suspicious to me.

Hi @Ozone,

Thank you for your question. I have moved this reply to a separate location as it pertains to a different topic.

To address your question: yes, our platform includes a real-time virus scanner that ensures the safety of files attached to posts.

The software performs the following actions:

  1. Scans all attachments during the upload process and removes any malicious files before they are posted to the community.
  2. Periodically scans previously uploaded files to detect malicious files based on the latest virus definitions and updates. Infected files are automatically removed, and any references to the file are deleted.

However, if you notice anything suspicious, please always report it for review.

Let me know if this answers your question.

Yes, that's fine.
Although I generall remain suspicious, being "bombarded" with strange mails and posts on other fora I am on.
