Hello everyone.I am modifying the distribution packages of 157C-DK2 and 157C-EV1 for my project. When I previously configured my rootfs using buildroot and debian-jessie, I proceeded as follows(other boards).Packages that can be configured using buildroot are configured, Debian-jessie is downloaded, and additional packages are downloaded using chroot, or the script under /etc/init.d is modified. And I organized the directories I wanted in the chroot, and installed my application in the folder. But I am not sure how to do it in this Distribution Package (or Development Package).I guess I don't know how to modify the configured Yocto System.I'm constantly looking at the Wiki Page, but I can't find a way.(It is difficult to me to proceed with the Wiki Page alone..)I need your help so I can get to know it little by little.I think the questions below are similar questions, but I don't know how.1. How can I further organize my desired directory in the area shown in the photo below?. I want

Dear all, I am looking to use the STPMIC1 in one new STM32MP15x design which will spend most of this time in standby mode. I am looking for STPMIC1 buck efficiency at light load (~1mA). In the datasheet there is numbers only for 150mA, 750mA and 1A. Is there any additonal numbers or graphics available somewhere ? I can see there is a special LP mode for light load but there is no indication about efficiency in LP mode. Many thanks in advance for your help
Hello, has anyone successful booted linux v5.4-stm32mp-r1 on the stm32mp157c-dk2 board? If so can you please provide me a working config?I am trying to switch from the 4.19 kernel to v5.4-stm32mp-r1 but the boards freezes after trying to load the kernel without any output, until it gets restarted by the WDG.I have tried to use TF-A and also U-Boot as SPL, both with the same results.Kernel 4.19 and also stock 5.7 are booting just fine... The kernel configs are also the same.U-Boot SPL 2020.01-stm32mp-r1 (Aug 09 2020 - 23:04:31 +0200) Model: STMicroelectronics STM32MP157C-DK2 Discovery Board RAM: DDR3-DDR3L 16bits 533000Khz WDT: Started with servicing (32s timeout) Trying to boot from MMC1 U-Boot 2020.01-stm32mp-r1 (Aug 09 2020 - 23:04:31 +0200) CPU: STM32MP157CAC Rev.B Model: STMicroelectronics STM32MP157C-DK2 Discovery Board Board: stm32mp1 in basic mode (st,stm32mp157c-dk2) Board: MB1272 Var2.0 Rev.C-01 DRAM: 512 MiB Clocks: - MPU : 650 MHz - MCU : 208.878 MHz
Hello everyone,I'm using an STM32MP157-DK1 and i'm really interested in doing bare-metal/RTOS usage of this new microprocessor. Unfortunately at the moment the documentation is more focused on how to deploy Linux and use the A7 cores with Linux. My guess would be to see how to be able to use the ROM code to be able to load a custom first stage bootloader to charge my code and access the peripherals. For this purpose i would try to generate a custom partition on a SD Card with the needed code. Could i have any input about this kind of usage ? I'm currently looking on the Developer & Distribution package in order to understand how is generated the different partition and how is generated the FSBL. Could i have any precision about the generation of the FSBL ?Last question but not the least : I'm looking for the AN5275 STM32MP1 Series: USB DFU/USART protocols used in bootloader application note. Is there any way to obtain it ?Best Regards and thanks in advance for your answers,Ismail Be
Which IDEs can be used for free in order to download/debug my application in an asynchronous fashion as two cores are running the the same time. I have taken a look on some suppliers (Tools & Software), but it looks like that you need to pay a some money in order to use their eclipse-based IDEs. I mean, how can I evaluate if this MPU family is suitable for our project if I need to invest further money just for a license. I just want to make clear, I am not interested in trail licenses just for testing (limited amout of few kBs ). I would like to know if free IDEs without any bottleneck are available which allow me to develop/port my existing applications into this target? Where can I find it and if applicable where is the corresponding documentation?thanks
Dear All,According to AN5256 "discrete power supply hardware integration" the power source for VDD is turned off in case of crash to "reset" the hardware using the PWR_ONRST signal. At startup. At cold startup and immediately after a crash the power source for VDD has to be enabled. How the PWR_ONRST signal is drived on in this case as the MPU is not power at all ?Thanks in advance for any help
Hi There,I have a question regarding with DDR3L fly-by topology suggested to use by the design guide. My understanding is that STM32MP1 does not support the write/read leveling feature suggested in the JESD standard. If my above understanding is correct, may I ask then why fly-by topology is still recommended as opposite to the T-topology?I thought the main reason DDR3/DDR3L uses fly-by topology is because the write/read leveling feature allows the controller to compensate the skew between CK/DQS caused by the daisy chain connection from fly-by topology.I have also seen other vendor's hardware development manual (i.e. NXP iMX7) that specifically recommend not to use fly-by topology, as their chip does not support write/read leveling feature.Am I missing something here? or perhaps my understanding is incorrect?Appreciate your assistance in advance.Thanks.Regards,Steven
In the stm32mp157C-DK2 board, there is a DDR3 memory with size 4GB x 1.I wanted to know why the size defined in the system is 512mb as the next figure show :

Hi @martin KJELDSEN , I have some questions related to porting touchGFX on STM32MP1 which are as below : 1) Is it possible to run touchGFX on M4 core available on STM32MP1 ? 2) As I understood earlier touchGFX was supported on ARM processors, If I have to port touchGFX on STM32MP1, how should I approach it ? Regards, Shree
Could you give me some advice on how to debug the kernel through KGDB,
Is there any application note for tamper pins? Which one of the pins is the active tamper?
I am developing an industrial tablet with only one task - to display and record videoIt should be ready to work in a few seconds after turning on (that's why I also think about using STM32H7)I need to show on the display 720p (ideally 1080p) 30 frames per second, as well as encode and decode them in H264 / 265Is STM32MP capable of doing this?If so, could you please give me some material to start exploring embedded Linux? Before that, I wrote only for microcontrollers, to be honest, it's easier for me to work with bare metal and would really like to be able to generate HAL code using CubeMXWhen trying to work with the IMX6, I stopped at the fact that I just can't switch the output from HDMI to LVDS. Not to mention more complicated things like setting up custom DDR and NANDWhere can I find out?I know how this peripheral works at the "iron" level and I think I can write drivers for it. But my problem is that I just can't sort through this huge heap of Linux code, I don't even know where to

Hello! We have a problem of LCD image quality with our custom STM32MP157C-based board: we see artefacts, wrong colours, ghosts of previous images and rainbows. The LCD is a Winstar WF40CTYAQM, linked with MIPI DSI, much like the Orise Tech LCD of the DK2.What strange is: when on the DK2, the same LCD shows good images. On our custom board, it shows those artefacts and ghosts in particular. The artefacts happen even if we use the Video Pattern Generator in BER mode, grey stripes. There is one difference between the boards: the DK2 has an STM32MP157CAC SoC, while our custom board has a STM32MP157CAD SoC, i.e. the package is different and has less pins.Is there a DSI limitation on the CAD package?Tests were done in 4 steps:Show the ST splash screen, with the butterfly and Tux, during 10 minutes. Blue and green are too dark on the CAD package. "IMG_20200603_095341.jpg" <https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/u/0/d/1q3H5w46XKUTFXd5PLQ0CjDe-h4cuGvsA=w1920-h1006-iv1>Show the SMPTE pattern: art

I want to use the M4 kernel to display some animations and images that can be rendered on the GPU?
We are using rauc to perform remote updates on your target devices. However, to create the rauc bundle, rauc uses a different image format than the ST image created. The default imagesource in rauc is:imgsource = "%s-%s.%s" % (d.getVar('RAUC_SLOT_%s' % slot), machine, img_fstype) in file https://github.com/rauc/meta-rauc/blob/345732f8ef81700e5ca17b4e6a66ae33019cb73b/classes/bundle.bbclass#L197which I edited to:imgsource = "%s-%s-%s.%s" % (d.getVar('RAUC_SLOT_%s' % slot), "openstlinux", machine, img_fstype)What would be the best way to comply with the filenames created by the ST yocto distribution? What do you suggest?
