Are there any resources that show how to configure the communication peripherals ( USB,. USART) when using the STM32MP1 based parts. I tried to configure a USART and USB peripheral, but STMCube generates a dialog that indicates that this peripheral must be configured by hand. I checked in the examples under STM32CubeMP1 repo and in the UART exampless, it looks like the UART pins are not configured ( looks like MX_GPIO_Init just enables the clocks ). I would like to use the USART and USB peripherals from the M4 side on this processor
I am trying to add a kernel module for USB serial devices following: https://askubuntu.com/questions/168279/how-do-i-build-a-single-in-tree-kernel-moduleIn order to build just the module, not a completely new kernel , I would need the Module.symvers file. Any idea where to find it?
Hello, all!For some time now I have been trying to come up with a solution to connect 2 cameras of 480X640 resolution and several peripherals to a low-power MCU. I keep hitting a wall, because it seems that this endeavor is not suitable for an MCU - the large RAM required to host 600K image, the fact that I can't connect 2 USB / DCMI cameras and need several MCUs that defeat the purpose, the fact that having a DCMI, an FSC and several peripherals on the same MCU, that is also, low-power, is unheard of..So, I'm trying my luck with an MPU:does ST offer a low-power MPU that has a large RAM, >100 IOs, and most importantly - can interface 2 USB cameras? Is there a tool like MCU FInder for MPUs?Are there guides for getting strated with ST MPUs?Is it possible to perform an Over The Air Update with an ST MPU?Thanks!** Partial answers will be much appreciated as well. Just starting off with the MPU direction, and want to understand if it suits my needs and how challenging it would be.
Hello, I'm trying to evaluate the STM32MP1 using a STM32MP157C-DK2. I followed this getting started guide and successfully flashed the board, even though the archive downloaded has a slightly different name than mentioned in the guide. I set the boot switches to the on position and reset the board, which is showing the UBoot splash screen. But afterwards it goes dark, no Linux splash screen, Weston desktop or GTK demo launcher to be seen anywhere. The system itselfs seems to work correctly, as pressing the reset button with minicom connect shows (see log attached). The big LED next to the ST-LINK is constantly red. A small LED close by flashes two times blue, then pauses, followed by another two flashes...What am I missing here? Shouldn't the board boot to the GTK demo launcher automatically? Best Regards,Matt

( with the right card )Thanks! =)
For an application we are investigating this processor and have two questions,We want to connect an external chip to the FMC bus. It is somespecialized ASIC handling some real-time communication.I don't see the option in the STM32Cube to active the FMC in SRAM mode? But I see it in the reference manual. Is it available? Is the SRAM also accessible by the Cortex M4? What I understand from the refence manual is that it is supported.
Hi,I have succesfully built a image st-example-image-qt from the DISTRO openstlinux-eglfs.I have deployed the image on sd card, and played it on STM32MP157C-DK2.System is booting without a problem, and the splashscreen was shown. Then, I tried one of Qt examples e.g.:root@stm32mp1:~# /usr/share/examples/opengl/hellowindow/hellowindowqt.qpa.input: X-less xkbcommon not available, not performing key mappingCould not set DRM mode for screen DSI1 (Permission denied)Could not queue DRM page flip on screen DSI1 (Permission denied)Could not queue DRM page flip on screen DSI1 (Permission denied)Could not queue DRM page flip on screen DSI1 (Permission denied)...export QT_QPA_EGLFS_ALWAYS_SET_MODE="1"export QT_QPA_EGLFS_INTEGRATION="eglfs_kms"does not help! What can be the Issue here?
HiI got an STM32MP157C-DK2 during the Embedded World. But Windows7 isn't detecting the DFU ... It detects only the STLink (UART) ....Same issue in a Ubuntu-16 (which is running in VirtualBox on the same Windows 7)Any suggestion?Regards Francesco
Hi all, yesterday I just booted the amazing STM32MP1 DK2 device with a brand new Yocto build (st-image-weston). Can't find the fw_cortex_m4.sh . Is that available just in the STM32CubeMP1_Package or maybe I need to add another layer and build for another target?
Hi,I'm planning to buy an STM32MP1 discovery kit (when available) and I'm wondering how to get access to the distribution package. I read on wiki.st.com that I have to request these rights to my ST support contact but I can't found out how to do it.Thanks in advance
I downloaded Yocto_SDK Software Version- 1.0.0 for STM32MP151C. The environment setup file name is - "environment-setup-cortexa7t2hf-neon-vfpv4-openstlinux_weston-linux-gnueabi". Does it mean that this SDK is tailored for Wayland implementation? We intend to use raw framebuffer device. As of now we have no plans of using X11 or Wayland. Can we use this SDK?
Hello, until now, all STM32 datasheets do not specify JTAG/SWD interface characteristics except for STM32H7: 6.3.33 JTAG/SWD interface characteristics. The JTAG/SWD interface characteristics should be specified.

Posted on February 06, 2018 at 05:31I'm wondering if its possible to port the linux serial port (source code) to an STM32 platform with FreeRTOS. I realize that there exists a FreeRTOS CLI (Command Line Interface) implementation but I find it quite limited. What I'm looking for is the versatility of the linux console in regards to command handling (input and output) and echoing. At the moment I'm working on developing a terminal from scratch but not sure if that's the best way#linux #serial-port #console
Posted on October 08, 2017 at 19:47Hey guys,I want to run SNMP in uclinux, but when I type . /SNMP, in the following path (where I can see the name of software):/proc/netI get this error:hush: can't execute './snmp': Permission deniedNow Im not sure if the SNMP is installed correctly or not, and if yes, how can I enter to the software environment. Actually I want to learn how to run software in uClinux. Thanks a lot.#uclinux #linux #snmp #uclinux-stm32 #net-snmp
Posted on June 25, 2017 at 21:18Hi !!!I am working on can-bus project with embedded linux environment. i tried porting linux on f4 discovery (f429) and the can bus pin wouldn't work on the machine some one said that i needed to cut C53 capacitor in order to use canbus . then i tried it on f407 discovery and canbus worked but i couldn't port linux on it. :(So Iam looking at two f7 discovery machine 1. stm32F746G DISCOVERY2. stm32F769I DISCOVERYCould anyone tell me if it is possible to port linux on stm32f7 discovery machine along with can bus pin enabled.if it is possible, which one should i choose ???thank you :)#embedded #stm32 #linux #can #canbus
Posted on May 26, 2017 at 16:25 Hello, I am having problems communicating with my NUCLEO-F767ZI board over the virtual COM port on Linux. The board uses USART3 to communicate via the ST-Link USB port with the PC. The ST-Link connects fine to the PC on device /dev/ttyACM0 and I can program it fine. I can even mount its disk partition as a mass storage device. I am using the re-routing of printf() to the USART interface to output debug text, as proposed in the ST examples, and this works fine on a Windows PC. On a Linux machine however, I don't get the output. I have tried 'screen' to open a serial console, as well as an Arduino IDE serial console, no luck. I have added udev rules for the ST-Link device in /etc/udev to be able to access the device without being root. I can work with other, Arduino-compatible boards over the same /dev/ttyACM0 device just fine. Does anyone have experience with these boards under Linux and can help me out? What am I missing here? #serial-interface #n
Posted on May 05, 2016 at 13:35It is a pity that ST hasn't released anything to program these memories under Linux, so I have developed a little utility to program STM32F7-discovery's QSPI Flash Memory. You can find it on my git repo:http://noosrequired.com/Javier_varez/QSPI_Programmer.gitI hope you find it useful. #stm32f7-discovery-kit #qspi #linux
