I've got a custom board built around an STM32MP135AAE3. It's designed to have an eMMC instead of an SD card, the problem is that the board was not laid out correctly and the JTAG isn't connected.I'm having trouble writing to the eMMC (that's another topic) but I'm trying to make some progress while waiting for a board spin. The board is in serial boot mode so I'm able to upload bootloaders, am I allowed to upload any arbitrary program and call it a bootloader? I'm thinking I could start testing board features by uploading small programs to test the board if that's allowed with a "bootloader".

Dear ST Team,We are working on enabling and running the Cortex-M33 core on the STM32MP257F-DK board using U-Boot v2023.10-stm32mp-r2.https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_start_the_Cortex-M_coprocessor_from_U-BootDespite following the procedure described above link from the ST wiki, we are unable to successfully load or start the M33 firmware from U-Boot.The rproc load command returns load remote processor failed. Please refer the screenshot for the error message. rproc start,rproc stop,rproc ping returns Operation Failed with error (-19)rproc list command returns no output.We are facing issues while accessing certain registers using the md command in U-Boot.Specifically, attempting to read RAMCFG registers causes U-Boot to jump into its error handler.Thanks in advanceBest RegardsAkshitha Pattem
Hi everyone,we applied the ST FWU reference solution on our own platform based on the STM32MP157F.The solution was taken and adapted from the ST Yocto layer meta-st-ota (https://github.com/PRG-MPU-CUST/meta-st-ota).We have a few questions to clarify the default behavior:What is the default behavior in the early boot stage Do we understand correctly that fsbl1 and fsbl2 are intended to contain identical TF-A images for fail-safe purposes, and that the ROM looks for the first valid FSBL (starting from fsbl1) and loads it?Rollback behavior at ROM / TF-A layerIs it correct that there is no FWU rollback concept implemented in ROM / TF-A itself?I.e. fsbl1 is not treated as part of a bank like [fip-a, bootfs-a, rootfs-a], but instead the two FSBL slots are only there to allow a second try to load the same TF-A version from fsbl2 if fsbl1 fails?Updating TF-A over-the-airIf we decide to update TF-A via OTA (with RAUC and the ST FWU solution), do we understand correctly that:TF-A needs to b
Hii,I am working on a custom board based on the STM32MP257FK3 SoC. For initial bring-up, I am currently using a Linux/bootloader build that was generated for the STM32MP257F-DK reference board.On my custom hardware, the DDR memory has been changed from LPDDR4 (used on the DK board) to DDR3. While reviewing the STM32MP25 software stack, I noticed that the DDR type impacts not only the DDR controller configuration but also the PMIC voltage settings, which differ between LPDDR4, DDR3, and DDR4 designs.I would like clarification on what software changes are strictly required to make DDR3 work correctly on a custom STM32MP257F board.Specifically, I would like to understand whether supporting a different DDR type requires only Device Tree changes, or if bootloader and driver-level changes are also needed. Also, since DDR type affects power requirements, I would like guidance on the PMIC configuration changes required for DDR3. I want to understand which voltages need to be modified, whe
Hello,I am trying to generate a STM32CubeIDE project using CubeMX (version 6.16.1) for MP157D-DK1 board. It generates some device trees (linux, u-boot, tp-a) but it fails to generate the CubeIDE project.I also tried older versions of CubeMX (as late as 6.12) and none work.The error it displays is attached. Any idea what might be going wrong with the code/project generation? I have STM32CubeIDE v2.0.0 installed.Thanks.
I have both Board "stm32mp257F-dk - F-ev"I try to install chromium on the STM32MP2 , and Successfully installed chromium ,I try to play video on YouTube it is to lagging , smoothly play on 360p only, without YouTube i treid different method to play video on chromium. but also the output same,is there any thing to reslove this issues?My project based of Web display with high resolution video upto 1080p60 fps on HDMI .please give me the update on this, can my project work on this board.

Hi!I'm going to compile packages to bild a web browser that is optimal for the hardware of MP2.I know that ST Dev team have built an minimal web browser to use in kiosk mode. They have been using Qt Nano Browser.But my goal is to try to build a better web browser that works with down streaming and up streaming.My question is: I need some information from ST about what they have tried. What packages they have been using etc, their suggestions what will work and what they have tried with. A list of packages that support the hardware would be excellent.The source code is going to available at Github for all to use. Even for ST.
This post provides a workaround for a specific issue in STM32CubeIDE v2.0.0. The issue will be resolved in the next version. If STM32CubeIDE v2.0.0 is installed from scratch and if the imported project in STM32CubeIDE v2.0.0 is a project generated with STM32CubeMX v6.16, it is not possible to install the OpenSTLinux plugin. Consequently, it is not possible to import OSTL projects such as Linux, Optee, TF-A, or U-Boot. In order to work around this, the following steps are recommended: Install STM32CubeIDE 1.19.0 Install OpenSTLinux plugin v6.1.0 in STM32CubeIDE 1.19.0 Import the projects concerned (Linux, Optee, TF-A, U-Boot) Help > Check for updates > select STM32CubeIDE 2.0.0 > Next > Finish Then restart the STM32CubeIDE.

Hello,We have designed a custom board based on the STM32MP157F-DK2 platform.The design uses the STM32MP157FAC MPU and includes the following peripherals:MicroSD (SDMMC)STPMIC1 PMICDDR3L memoryEthernetUART4 for console My power sequencing, PMIC wiring, and clock architecture are identical to the DK2 reference schematics.All voltage rails appear stable except the DDR rails, and SDMMC signals look correct during boot.However, when I try to boot from the SD card and monitor UART4, I only receive the following messages:PANIC at PC : 0x2ffeada7Exception mode = 0x00000016 at : 0x2ffeada7There is nothing else printed afterward. From the Cortex-A7 exception codes, 0x16 indicates an Undefined Instruction exception, and the address 0x2FFEADA7 lies inside the SYSRAM area. This suggests the crash happens very early, likely during TF-A execution.My problem is that the MPU never seems to wake up properly, and I cannot identify the exact origin of the failure.I would appreciate guidance on w
I am currently working with the Yocto BSP/meta-layer you provide for the Odyssey STM32MP157C board. I am trying to include the following packages in my image:CORE_IMAGE_EXTRA_INSTALL += "kernel-modules"CORE_IMAGE_EXTRA_INSTALL += "kernel-devsrc"CORE_IMAGE_EXTRA_INSTALL += "kernel-dev"However, these packages are not being recognized or supported in the meta-layer provided. The build either fails or reports that these packages do not exist. I would like to understand whether these components are intentionally excluded from your BSP or if there is an additional layer, configuration, or package feed that I need to enable to use them.I built the image using the github documentation in this link https://github.com/Seeed-Studio/meta-st-odyssey .Could you please guide me on how to properly include kernel modules, development sources, and kernel headers/dev packages in the image for this platform?Any help or documentation reference would be greatly appreciated.
I'm currently trying to boot STM32MP257 DK board.I managed to do it in the past with starter and developer package. I recently got back to it and tried to boot it again but without success.I tried to upload starter package to SD card and EMMC, both ways are not working.I followed guide on https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP25_Discovery_kits_-_Starter_PackageSTM32 programmer is able to see the device:❯ STM32_Programmer_CLI -l usb ------------------------------------------------------------------- STM32CubeProgrammer v2.20.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------- ===== DFU Interface ===== Total number of available STM32 device in DFU mode: 1 Device Index : USB1 USB Bus Number : 001 USB Address Number : 006 Product ID : USB download gadget@Device ID /0x505, @Revision ID /0x0011, /STM32MP257FAK Rev.Y, Serial number : 003B002E4136500C00373653 Firmware version : 0x0110 Device ID : 0x0505However, each time I try to upload image to the SD card I get follow
The board was designed incorrectly, they have pins for a JTAG but forgot to actually route them to the MPU. The eMMC is not going to have a first-stage bootloader on it, and it's looking like it's not possible to flash an SPL to the eMMC over USB alone? Management won't be happy to do another board spin but it's sure looking like that's the only path forward.ChatGPT says:USB DFU alone cannot flash first-stage bootloader (SPL) to eMMC on a totally blank STM32MP135.This is not a dfu-util bug — it’s how the STM32MP1 ROM works.You need hardware access to write SPL + U-Boot to eMMC:Option A: SWD / JTAG (ST-LINK)CubeProgrammer can directly write SPL + U-Boot to eMMC.Option B: SD card bootThe ROM can load a SPL + U-Boot image from SD into RAM and then copy it to eMMC.
How can I activate CSI i STM32CubeIDE for STM32MP257?As you can see, I'm missing something.Any special clock I need to activate?I have activated CSI from DCMIPP. But still the CSI cannot get its pinns green.
In AN5489, the HSE is recommended to have 40 MHz. Why 40 MHz?Why not 24 MHz HSE? Is 40 MHz a specific value for a certain pheripherial?
Hi,I am new at STM32MP2. I have a stm32mp25f-ev1 board and I was able to build the distribution package and to run it on the board.My next step is to build an image for my own board that was designed using the eval board as a reference, but with many changes in pins (except the eMMC and SDCARD).I am strugling for 2 weeks now to get this working. I tried to follow the instructions from the wiki but could not get it up and running. Then I started to improvise (chat gpt, google, ...)... What I did was to create a new layer under layers. This layer should be based on the meta-st-stm32mp layer and have no additions. So I thought it would use the same devicetree as the meta-st-stm32mp layer. Then I created a machine in this layer. The machine is just with a new name but no devicetree changes. After that I built a new configuration using this layer.The idea was to get to somthing working on the eval board before I start adjusting it to my board. While building I got these warnings:W
Hello,I'm trying to modify STM32MP157x-DK2 kernel so that it would use ST ethernet drivers (dwmac-stm32.ko, stmmac.ko et al.) as modules (like on stm32mp257f board we have) and not be included into the kernel uImage. I'm using latest v.25.08.27 package and instructions for building and modifying kernel, and uImage and its default modules are built fine. Hi I was trying to connect a custom LVDS display to my STM32MP257F-dk board but it does not seem to work, The display has a resolution of 1024x600 pixel and also it uses "vesa-24" scheme, so i assume that i don't need to change the device tree as it matches the specification of the default display which is supplied with the dev kit. If otherwise please advice. Please not that i am not using the touch panel of the display so the i2c connection of the dev kit are not connected to the display board can that disable the LVDS port ? Is there any way to debug the LVDS display, Please advise in this matter. Regards,Samip
I have tried changing the ldo7 of stpmic25A in stm32mp257f-ev1,i have a custom board using stm32mp257fai3 and stpmic25a, where im using LDO7 for ethernet which needs 1v. so i tried experimenting the voltage first in stm32mp257f-ev1 EVK board and i applied below patch to change the voltage from 3.3v to 1v in all the boot components, but im still getting 3.3v at the vdd pin of the sdcard even after changes, why it so? im in middle of a board bring up, so hoping for a quick replyThanks in advance,FYR,tf-a patch:diff --git a/fdts/stm32mp257f-ev1.dts b/fdts/stm32mp257f-ev1.dts index 848ab89925..9771c7c2b6 100644 --- a/fdts/stm32mp257f-ev1.dts +++ b/fdts/stm32mp257f-ev1.dts @@ -144,10 +144,10 @@ regulator-min-microvolt = <2500000>; regulator-max-microvolt = <2500000>; }; - vdd_sdcard: ldo7 { - regulator-name = "vdd_sdcard"; - regulator-min-microvolt = <3300000>; - regulator-max-microvolt = <3300000>; + vdd_eth2: ldo7 { + regulator-na
It seems Azure® RTOS might be able to run on STM32MP135AAE3, the "Introduction to Azure RTOS with STM32" says "All STM32MP13x lines are covered by default by Azure® RTOS middleware within the matching STM32Cube MPU packages" but I'm having trouble finding any examples or "getting started" guides.
