I have successfully built the st-example-image-qt using Bitbake (see first image) and have successfully downloaded it to the stm32mp157c-dk2 board (see second image). But now I cannot SSH into the board. When I use the ip add show eth0 command I can only see the inet6 ip and not inet. Then I tried to follow this article, https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_perform_ssh_connection, but there is no /etc/init.d/sshd directory and I can't use apt install as I have no wifi connection on the board. Anyone else have this issue with the qt example image?EDIT 1: I also tried this article with no luck although now I do see an inet IP address when I manually set it with the ifconfig command I still can't SSH in, https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_configure_ethernet_interface. More information, I am using an Ubuntu virtual box as my host computer and using a usb 3 ethernet to USB adapter so not sure if that has anything to do with it? I did try this on a native linux computer with an eth
Hi St-Community,im hanging around with the following Problem:I build up a yocto environment and build sucessfully images. No its time to add a custom devicetree to the linux. So i followed the instructions on:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_create_your_own_machineBut i get the following error when i start to build a image with bitbake image-base-minimal.ERROR: u-boot-stm32mp-extlinux-2.0-r0 do_create_multiextlinux_config: No UBOOT_EXTLINUX_CONFIG_FLAGS list defined, nothing to do ERROR: u-boot-stm32mp-extlinux-2.0-r0 do_create_multiextlinux_config: Function failed: update_extlinuxconf_targets ERROR: Logfile of failure stored in: /opt/build/tmp/work/stm32mp1_mustera-poky-linux-gnueabi/u-boot-stm32mp-extlinux/2.0-r0/temp/log.do_create_multiextlinux_config.5058 ERROR: Task (/opt/yocto/meta-st-stm32mp/recipes-bsp/u-boot/u-boot-stm32mp-extlinux.bb:do_create_multiextlinux_config) failed with exit code '1'Have you any hints to me where i can debug. I dont know wehere these variables
I checked out the Yocto based OpenSTLinux distribution, it has `m4projects` recipe in recipes-extended. However, I don't see an easy and modular way to add STM32CubeIDE based projects into the OpenSTLinux framework. Do you have any suggestions on it? I was thinking of developing a yocto layer or a recipe base for it.
Hi. I've made a custom board very similar to stm32mp157c-DK2 BUT with STM32MP151A and ONLY eMMC (on SDMMC2 standard MUX) as flash device (no NOR, no QUADSPI, no SD). I built all necessary files with the help of CubeMX program and all works good EXCEPT that sometimes when i power off and physically remove AC then put AC on again, the device go in DFU. boot012 pins are configured well. I was thinking about trying to write OTP word 3 with a forced configuration in order to make the MPU boot always from eMMC. The question is: how to write to OPT word 3? Any example? I've only found MAC address example but i think it's a bit different. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, I am trying to config the wifi module to be access point and client simultaneously , but the iw utility gives error when trying to create the second interface Is this configuration possible? I am using the stm32mp157c-dk2 board. Thanks!
Hello, I have a Evalution board of STM32MP157C-DK2 which had an wifi module(LBEE5KL1Dx-883 Murata) and I want to use the module in AP and STA mode simultaneously. So I tried to do the necessary changes in the hostapd.conf(wlan1)and wpa supplicant file(wlan0) for two wifi interfaces. What is the problem I found is for the two intarfaces same MAC ID is assigned may be that is the reason simultaneously wifi was not able to run.I have attached link for from the murata where they are explaining the procedure for AP + STA.Please suggest me how to use the interface in a dual mode.https://www.murata.com/-/media/webrenewal/campaign/ads/asean/wireless_solution/miscellaneous-faq-r2.ashx?la=en-sgRegardsSrikanth.
STM32MP157DAB1, WINBOND QSPI memory attached to default pins. How to program first stage bootloader trough DFU mode? Boot pins=000STM32CuneProgrammer says:15:11:45:986 : failed to read the requested memory content15:11:46:788 : failed to read the requested memory content15:11:47:790 : failed to read the requested memory contentand nothing able to download. Memory work fine, If I use external SPI FLSH programmer - any diagnostics work well, JEDEC commands (Serial Flash Discoverable Parameters (SFDP), for Serial NOR Flash) to memory pass and get all properties.MPU boot process from SPI memory well done (if boot pins = 001). Then I open my fsbl.stm32, message box about Partition ID appear at download phase, Where I should specify this ID?
Can i connect J-Link to test points TP2,TP3,TP4,TP5,TP8,TP9 and not use the embedded ST-Link/V2 ? If yes do it needs special treatment like disabling embedded ST-Link/V2 ?
EDIT: issue resolved after clearing my tmp
Hi everyone,Can I use SJA1105Q is automotive ethernet swifch IC with mp1? Also, while debugging via SSH can I use it?
Hello, We made a board that based on STM32MP157C-DK2. First of all, show the configuration of our board as below.... (1). The major parts and circuit are same as DK2 such as DDR, PMIC, MicroSD, Ethernet. (2). Some parts are removed such as MCU, WIFI/BT, HDMI Tx, USB hub, USB Type-C DRP and LCD module. (3). And add some peripheral such as eMMC, two SPI devices (SPI4, SPI5), EEP (I2C-1) The problem is: The board cannot boot up from SD card, list the symptoms as below... (1). We tried to boot up the board by DK2 SD card (it works well on DK2), but got the exception message from UART ... PANIC at PC : 0x2ffdc323 Exception mode=0x00000016 at: 0x2ffda000 This is all messages since power on. (2). The BOOT cfg. bit setting is confirmed on 101b, boot from SD card. (3). The PA13 (boot status pin) kept Hi or Hi-Z. (4). PMIC RANK-0 no power output, but other RANK had output power. (5). About SD card access.... a. Only SDMMC1_CK, SDMMC1
Hello, I need to obtain the STM32CubeMX application for WIndow-10 in order to continue evaluation of STM32MP157A on EV1. I cannot get the registration email to link back to st.com, I get only 404-not found message. please advise. thanks. -peter
2 questions here:Is the UART4 connector active by default on the demo board or do I need to build it in?If/when it is active, which STLinux /dev/tty is linked to the I/O path for UART4?thank you,-peter
Here the output of some commands issued on our target at u-boot stage:> STM32MP> mmc list > STM32 SDMMC2: 0 (SD) > STM32 SDMMC2: 1 > > STM32MP> ls mmc 0:4 > <DIR> 1024 . > <DIR> 1024 .. > <DIR> 12288 lost+found > 8192 uboot.env > 6677056 uImage > 71859 stm32mp151a-<myimage>-mx.dtb > 583 boot.scr.uimg > > STM32MP> mmc list > STM32 SDMMC2: 0 (SD) > STM32 SDMMC2: 1 (eMMC)Two questions:why the eMMC is not enumerated before trying to list anything in the SD device?why both are referred to the SDMMC2 bus? I'm expecting the SD card on SDMMC2 and eMMC on SDMMC1... in other words, how to check if the MPU finds the right device when changing the boot dip-switches to eMMC?
Hello!I try to understand how to exclude some memory from ddr for Linux, but M4 must have to access to that memory, because M4 needs to store about 40 Mb, but not RETRAM or SYSRAM doesn't allow it. So, I try to store this in ddr, but I don't want that Linux can use this memory region.I try to use reserved memory in Linux dts like that: in root node in stm32mp157a-dk1.dtsmemory@c0000000 { reg = <0xc0000000 0x20000000>; }; reserved-memory { #address-cells = <1>; #size-cells = <1>; ranges; m4ddr: m4ddr@0xd7ffffff { reg = <0xd7ffffff 0x4000000>; no-map; };...And in m4 node I added this region to memory-region:&m4_rproc {
I'm looking to use the STM32MP1 for a battery powered product. What is the recommended configuration to control external power supplies? Both in startup and shutdown. In the past I've used an external M0 as a power sequencer. Latching the power from a momentary power switch, then signalling a shutdown (via UART or I2C) and powering down once Linux has shutdown. Is there a way of doing this with just the STM32MP1?
Is it possible to Load/Start the Cortex-M4 from TF-A or uboot ?For our use case we want RTOS in Cortex-M4 running as soon as possible.Well before linux finishes booting.
Hi,I want to use modbus TCP with the libmodbus library (https://libmodbus.org/) on the STM32MP157C-DK2. However I struggle to install/use the library. Any experiences or suggestions on installing/use external libraries with the SDK?For cross-compilation I use the SDK with the development packageregards,Lukas
I would like to use the I2C_EXT channel on the EV1. The only devices in STLinux are /dev/i2c-1, /dev/i2c-2We are evaluating for purpose of supplanting development on R.Pi with something more industrial, like MP1.2 things I want to accomplish:1: have kernel / OS complete connection chain in orderwhat are the steps I need to take to make this happen?2: use PYTHON SMBus to communicate to my devicesapt-get install does not find anything beyond low-level I2C utils prepackaged, sowhat are the step I need to take to get SMBus in PYTHON operating? thanks. -PUP.

SEVERE: Failed to parse: /home/ubuntu/STM32MPU_workspace/STM32MPU-Tools/STM32CubeProgrammer-2.4.0/bin/libstp11_SAM.so.confHi, I'm trying to install STM32Cube on ubuntu 18.04 and it gives me error below, Please help me I'm struggling with this error for couple of days and couldn't find any solution.
Hi guys.i can quickly and easily access SYSRAM in engineering mode.i read in RM0436 Reference manual:backhand_index_pointing_down: SYSRAM is implicitly allocated to the MPU. So there is no enable bit for the MPU to allocate this memory. But when the MCU wants to access the SYSRAM, the memory must be enabled via RCC AXI Periph. Enable For MCU Set Register ...I enabled the SYSRAM peripheral clocks, But nothing has changed yet:pensive_face: . i have no idea what to do...thanks in advance for all your help:folded_hands:
I want to use a Winbond W25M02Gxx 256MByte (2x1Gbit) on MP157 QSPI1 port. It seems that the boot mode supports the use of Serial NAND Flash.Anyone tried this?
Hi everyone,Can I assign, for example, UART to Cortex M4 runtime context, and generate appropriate device tree files for STM32MP1, and then after boot, reassign UART to Cortex A7 runtime context somehow? Best regards, Nenad
Hello everyone,I managed to build st-example-image-qt on my STM32MP157C-DK2 with some extra image features. Now i just want to run bitbake meta-toolchain-qt5 but the build end up with errors that i can't solve.I attached the output console when i try to build it. Do you have any clue how to resolve this ?Thank you.
