I have an STM32MP1-DK2 and have tried to install pip using several python mechanisms, but there are missing modules. The notable ones that I found missing are runpy and xmlrpc. Even when I go into python and type help() it spits out an error about pydoc missing. All available python packages have been installed via apt-get install.I'm wondering do I have a bad image or is there a way to get these built-in packages?

Hi,I'm lead embedded engineer at some company. Our current tech stack is android board for GUI and networking connected to stm32f2 over uart, which controls our hardware. We're trying to give a shot to stm32mp1, which could be great way to reduce hardware cost and give us better tools to offload some not-real-time, but cpu intensive, tasks to application processor. We've bought STM32MP157C-DK2 with intention of porting our software on it. First step would, obviously, be running Android on it. Since we've got android image from vendor of our current android boards and modified it only slightly, we have no experience with android development. Where should we start? I assume that it should be rather simple task, since ST provides bsp for stm32mp157c-ev1; which shares same MPU. I basically need, right now, usb storage, MIPI DSI display (DK2's built in one will be fine for now) with touch screen and uart peripheral. I'll leave running wifi dongle, usb camera and ethernet for later.
Hello,I have been trying to work with the BSEC and write some data to the upper OTPs, where I managed to successfully write only to the words containing the MAC address. Then I realised, that the device tree needs to be modified to allow other OTP words to be written, however now the MCU does not boot up and it does not allow me to reflash it as well to fix the overwritten data. I have the MAC address, I just do not know how to write to OTP if I am not able to boot up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The platform used is STM32MP157A-DK1 and the log during programming is here:NOTICE: CPU: STM32MP157AAC Rev.B NOTICE: Model: STMicroelectronics STM32MP157A-DK1 Discovery Board NOTICE: Board: MB1272 Var7.5 Rev.O-13 INFO: Reset reason (0x14): INFO: Pad Reset from NRST INFO: PMIC version = 0x10 INFO: Using USB INFO: Instance 2 INFO: Boot used partition fsbl1 NOTICE: BL2: v2.2-r1.0(debug):v2.2-dirty NOTICE: BL2: Built : 13:36:23, Oct 22 2019 INFO: Using crypto library 'stm32_crypto_lib' I
Hi,I want to update the boot chain (basic mode) for a "custom" device tree.Following the wiki page below, I understood how to update the boot chain (trusted mode) for a "custom" device tree.https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_compile_the_device_tree_with_the_Developer_PackageOn the other hand, I don't know how to update the boot chain (basic mode) for a "custom" device tree.In basic mode, should I compile the device trees in the following steps?==U-boot==make stm32mp15_basic_defconfigmake DEVICE_TREE=<device tree> all==TF-A==make -f ../../sources/arm-ostl-linux-gnueabi/tf-a-stm32mp-2.0-r0/Makefile.sdk TFA_DEVICETREE=<device tree> TF_A_CONFIG=basic allIn this case, which files should I copy into the 'fsbl1', 'fsbl2' and 'ssbl' partition of the target?Best Regards.H. Hello Everyone.I am using stm32mp157c DK2 and EV1 for my project.I thought that the board suitable for my project purpose is DK2 for the following reasons, and EMMC is required in addition to this.In the current DK2 configuration, removing HDMI, DSI LCD, and AUDIO and reducing USB to 1 will make the board I want. Also, I am using SPI communication by connecting another board to the Arduino Port.I only want to add emmc booting here.(I think that i2c, spi, uart/232/485 are all possible in the listed Peripheral ports)In the case of ev1, emmc is configured, but it seems that there are too many unnecessary functions. In your case, what you choose between the DK2 and EV1 in the same situation as me?And how do I use EMMC with DK2?If I connect EMMC connected to EV1 to DK2 identically, how do I proceed after this?I am also thinking about connecting emmc after removing the sdcard to the sd card pod that is currently connected.Or is it convenient to use EV1, remove unnecessary ones, and match the p

I am designing a board using STM32MP1, STPMIC1A and LPDDR2. I want to use 3.3V VDD not 1.8V as most of peripherals are 3.3V. I am following example in AN5031 Figure 32 LPDDR2 VDD1 is powered from LDO3 in bypass mode which is powered by VDD 1.8V. I plan to change BUCK3 settings to output VDD 3.3V, use BUCK 4 to output 1.8V to power LDO3 in bypass mode which power LPDDR2 VDD1. I can't use BUCK directly to power LPDDR2 VDD1 as BUCK4 is rank 2 and turn on automatically with default 3.3V. Is that the correct/recommended way to do it ?Thanks in advance
Hi,Please tell me whether the virtual Uart take any hardware resoure (eg: actual UART port, PIN).Does the virtual Uart support the baudrate change? If it support, what maximum speed it can support? The virtual UART demo example in "STM32Cube_FW_MP1_V1.2.0/Projects/STM32MP157C-DK2/Applications/OpenAMP/OpenAMP_TTY_echo"Rgds,QiZhang
Hi all, I am trying to upgrade the kernel on a board running STM32MP15 BSP v1.2.0. From what I have seen, the kernel from BSP 2.0.0 is not compatible with the tf-a and u-boot used in previous BSP versions; I assume that this is due to a change in the way clocks/resets are managed (commit), which introduces a dependency on SCMI services provided by tf-a.On the other hand I see that a stm32mp15-no-scmi.dtsi file was introduced (commit) to "revert" this SCMI dependency. If I am correct, using this dtsi file in my device tree should make it possible to upgrade the kernel only, and still use the "old" tf-a and uboot from BSP 1.2.0. However I tried this and it does not seem to work (kernel hangs immediately after the "Starting kernel ..." message).Do I need something else? What am I missing?Thank you,Guillermo

Hello,I would like to use the UART7 with A7 on the STM32MP157C-DK2 with the openstlinux-20-02-19 ecosystem. Therefore i tried to include/enable the UART interface in the device tree but it is not working correctly. I configured UART7 in the stm32mp157a-dk1.dts file by setting the status "okay":&uart7 { pinctrl-names = "default"; pinctrl-0 = <&uart7_pins_a>; status = "okay";};and in the stm32mp157.c.dtsi file by setting the status "okay":uart7: serial@40018000 { compatible = "st,stm32h7-uart"; reg = <0x40018000 0x400>; clocks = <&rcc UART7_K>; resets = <&rcc UART7_R>; status = "okay"; };An alias was alr

Hello everyone.I am modifying the distribution packages of 157C-DK2 and 157C-EV1 for my project. When I previously configured my rootfs using buildroot and debian-jessie, I proceeded as follows(other boards).Packages that can be configured using buildroot are configured, Debian-jessie is downloaded, and additional packages are downloaded using chroot, or the script under /etc/init.d is modified. And I organized the directories I wanted in the chroot, and installed my application in the folder. But I am not sure how to do it in this Distribution Package (or Development Package).I guess I don't know how to modify the configured Yocto System.I'm constantly looking at the Wiki Page, but I can't find a way.(It is difficult to me to proceed with the Wiki Page alone..)I need your help so I can get to know it little by little.I think the questions below are similar questions, but I don't know how.1. How can I further organize my desired directory in the area shown in the photo below?. I want

Error: failed to download Segment[0]Error: failed to download the FileError: Download partition 0x21 failedError: TSV flashing service failedI am getting this error while flashing the image. I took the st-image-weston and deleted the ui and audio packages. After doing this i m now experiencing these errors. But on repeatedly flashing again finally after 3,4 tries it get flashed.I have seen other posts related to this that this error is somehow related to rootfs. But i am not able to understand why removing graphics and audio packages affected the rootfs? and what is the solution for thsi?
Hello ST Team!I'm trying to setup a simple headless distribution (with last available kit from ST), using st-image-core as a basis:"DISTRO=openstlinux-weston MACHINE=stm32mp1 source layers/meta-st/scripts/envsetup.sh"followed by:"bitbake st-image-core"It compiles fine, and i can test on my DK2.So I modified <builddir>/local.conf to include: IMAGE_INSTALL_append = " python3-requests"IMAGE_INSTALL_append = " python3-spidev"and to remove some package:DISTRO_FEATURES_remove = " alsa gstreamer splashscreen kde pulseaudio" in order to get a thinner distro. All is fine at this step.Unfornately i'm trying to remove 'packagegroup-st-demo" or "m4projects-stm32mp1-userfs" "linux-examples-stm32mp1-userfs"using the same methods, with no success! By the way it would be cool to remove unused partition too (/usr/local/)1) May someone could tell me what is the correct way to do this?2) When it successfuly compiles, i see an "uInitrd" thing in the /boot partition and i'm not sure what to do with it
Dear all, I am looking to use the STPMIC1 in one new STM32MP15x design which will spend most of this time in standby mode. I am looking for STPMIC1 buck efficiency at light load (~1mA). In the datasheet there is numbers only for 150mA, 750mA and 1A. Is there any additonal numbers or graphics available somewhere ? I can see there is a special LP mode for light load but there is no indication about efficiency in LP mode. Many thanks in advance for your help
Hello, has anyone successful booted linux v5.4-stm32mp-r1 on the stm32mp157c-dk2 board? If so can you please provide me a working config?I am trying to switch from the 4.19 kernel to v5.4-stm32mp-r1 but the boards freezes after trying to load the kernel without any output, until it gets restarted by the WDG.I have tried to use TF-A and also U-Boot as SPL, both with the same results.Kernel 4.19 and also stock 5.7 are booting just fine... Hello everyone,I'm using an STM32MP157-DK1 and i'm really interested in doing bare-metal/RTOS usage of this new microprocessor. Unfortunately at the moment the documentation is more focused on how to deploy Linux and use the A7 cores with Linux. My guess would be to see how to be able to use the ROM code to be able to load a custom first stage bootloader to charge my code and access the peripherals. For this purpose i would try to generate a custom partition on a SD Card with the needed code. Could i have any input about this kind of usage ? I'm currently looking on the Developer & Distribution package in order to understand how is generated the different partition and how is generated the FSBL. Could i have any precision about the generation of the FSBL ?Last question but not the least : I'm looking for the AN5275 STM32MP1 Series: USB DFU/USART protocols used in bootloader application note. Is there any way to obtain it ?Best Regards and thanks in advance for your answers,Ismail Be
Which IDEs can be used for free in order to download/debug my application in an asynchronous fashion as two cores are running the the same time. I have taken a look on some suppliers (Tools & Software), but it looks like that you need to pay a some money in order to use their eclipse-based IDEs. I mean, how can I evaluate if this MPU family is suitable for our project if I need to invest further money just for a license. I just want to make clear, I am not interested in trail licenses just for testing (limited amout of few kBs ). I would like to know if free IDEs without any bottleneck are available which allow me to develop/port my existing applications into this target? Where can I find it and if applicable where is the corresponding documentation?thanks
I am building graphical app using GTK. I have code that make modal dialog and it works well on ubuntu, but on stm32mp1 it doesn't.
