In a normal M4 like the STM32F466RE the MX program does most of the setup for transmitting the UART with DMA when you configure. However there is NO DMA option when setting up the UART for the STM32MP157. I dump internal information to a UART so I can see what is going wrong. The UART is operating at 2Mb (2,000,000 baud or bits per second) While that is good at getting the data out, it is too much of a drain on the processor going in and out of interrupts that fast. That is what DMA is for. It operates in the background and is not noticed by my processor. The DMA is different with the STM32MP1, some help with the configuring it with a UART for transmit would be helpful.
I am getting an error in the kernel log when remoteproc tries to "set hold boot" during startup in Linux. The error is:remoteproc remoteproc0: failed to set hold bootremoteproc remoteproc0: releasing m4stm32-rproc: probe of mlahb:m4@10000000 failed with error -3After this I do not have remoteproc0 in the /sys/class/remoteproc folder. I have attached device tree and log file. Can someone please suggest a possible cause.

Hi allFor test purpose I want to run a real-time kernel on the STM32MP157c-DK2 with the newest ecosystem 3-1-11. The goal is to develop a real-time kernel module, out of the Yocto environment.I did build the Image with Yocto and flashed the image. Apparently the ecosystem 3.1.11 uses the Linux kernel 5-10-61.I could also successfully build and run the Linux kernel 5-10-61 outside Yocto, adding the .config from the /proc/config of the imag. Now I'd like to add the reat-time patch, but there is no patch for 5-10-61, but only for 5-10-59 or 5-10-63.I tried to use the 5-10-59 patch with the 5-10-61 kernel. It compiled successfully, but the kernel did not start up.I also tried to use the newest kernel with the proper patch: 5-10-83. This did not work either. What do you recommend to do?By the way: the M4 inside stm32mp1 is intentionally not used.
Hello GuysI'm using a157-EV1 board and my custom board. Both board have sd card slot and emmc. And possible of linux install to sd card and emmc.Anyway if built images using STM32_Programmer_CLI in Ubuntu environment can be install on the board according to Flashlayout_emmc.tsv, Similarly, when booting from a sd card, can i the built images be install in emmc according to Flashlayout_emmc.tsv using command? Among the results of complete Image build, if I look at create_sdcard_from_flashlayout.sh and FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp157.how_to_update.txt in the script directory, it seems possible with a command, but I don't know how to change and use that fit for emmc.I need a lot of help as I have no professional knowledge in BSP.How can I install Linux on EMMC using commands after booting from SD card? Thanks
Hi,we are working on a sensor data reading application based on your logic analyzer example project. But in our use case the data are sampled on a FPGA connected via QSPI. We have hard realtime requirements (far below 1ms) of reading the data and transferring them to the DDR RAM, so that we cannot use the A7 & Linux (we tried already).I am now trying to get the QSPI working together with the MDMA controller from the M4 to transfer the data to the DDR RAM (or the internal SRAM as 2nd option). But I could not find any example source code. Could you provide an example project or code snippet which shows how to set this thing up? Or is it generally not intended or possible to setup MDMA transfers from the M4?Thanks in advance!Best regards,Karsten
Hi STM-Team,I am working with STM32MP157F-Eval board. I have enabled and tested secure-boot flow as per https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP15_ROM_code_secure_boot.Now, I am looking for next security part for singing-verification of kernel & DTB images and some mechanism of filesystem integrity checking (e.g. dm-verity) at every boot-up in stm32mp1 series board.I do not see any reference for this part. Can anyone help me with any reference document to implement these stuff on stm32mp1 series boards? Thanks & Regards,Pratik Manvar
Looking at the code, i see file sf_probe.c with .id = UCLASS_SPI_FLASH, that performs the id reading. How can i use stm32_spi.c with .id = UCLASS_SPI, driver instead? and send "raw" spi data?
I noticed that after I flash the ST starter package root filesystem, at first boot there is a check on bad blocks and a resize of the partitions, while when I flash the exported root filesystem, there is no checks and some partitions are not resized to the full size.For instance, when doing df, i get:Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on devtmpfs 377684 0 377684 0% /dev /dev/mmcblk1p4 703328 498552 155760 77% / tmpfs 445508 0 445508 0% /dev/shm tmpfs 445508 17300 428208 4% /run tmpfs 445508 0 445508 0% /sys/fs/cgroup tmpfs 445508 12 445496 1% /tmp /dev/mmcblk1p2 59365 30635 24144 56% /boot /dev/mmcblk1p3 14839 6900 6793 51% /vendor tmpfs 445508 20 445488 1% /var/volatile /dev/mmcblk1p5 122835 4084 109577 4% /usr/local tmpfs 89100 0 89100 0% /run/user/0But /usr/local should be 2.9G.Thank you for any help.Lidia
Hi,I am designing a product which requires RGB interface length matching. For that I want Pin Delay/ Pin Length from die to ball for STM32MP157CAC3 MPU.If possible please provide Pin Delay/ Pin Length from die to ball for all available pins in STM32MP157CAC3, STM32MP157AAB as well.
If I'm interpreting Table 13 correctly (datasheet p 128), VDDA can be set to 0 volts provided VREF is not used. Similarly power pins related to USB can also be set to 0 volts. Looking in the datasheet p29,I just need to star-connect VDD_ANA, VDD_PLL and VDD_DSI to VDD, and make sure that VDD powers up before VDDCORE. Would this be alright, have I missed any important details?

HelloI am using Distribution Package and st-image-core.I had to use sftp while testing my board, so I tried it, but it doesn't seem to be installed in the default package. So, after adding the following to st-image-core.bb, I tried bitbake, but an error occurs. There was no problem adding the other packages, but the problem occurs when I add the two below.CORE_IMAGE_EXTRA_INSTALL += "openssh" CORE_IMAGE_EXTRA_INSTALL += "openssh-sftp-server"Error:ERROR: st-image-core-1.0-r0 do_rootfs: Unable to install packages. Hello.I developed my own board based on A-DK1 board using STM32MP157CAC and MicroSD, PMIC, Ethernet and DDR periphery. When I connect my plate to the usb with sd-card (st-link 2.1) I always receive the message:PANIC at PC : 0x2fff2d17Exception mode=0x00000016 at: 0x2fff2d17Only these 2 strings. My power and clock schematics exactly the same as -dk1 board.I have only one difference. There is a STM32MP157AAC on the dk-1 and I use STM32MP157CAC...I have one sd-card for the both boards. My MPU just doesn't wake up and I don't understand what should I doing
I've been trying to build-time reserve a 64KiB memory region anywhere between 0xC0000000 & 0xDFFFFFFF for the Cortex-M4 core using a device tree reserved-memory node. I've tried 0xC0000000, 0xD0000000 & 0xDFFF0000 but each time U-Boot fails either during flash programming or when trying to boot the Linux kernel.I've managed to kludge a reservation at 0xC0000000 by changing the root memory@c0000000 node to have "reg = <0xc0010000 0x3fff0000>;" after which I can read & write the 64KiB from the M4 without crashing the running Linux kernel and use it, for example, as additional M4 heap. However this is icky. Ideally, I'd like the flexibility to assign it to the memory-region property in the &m4_rproc node and have rproc able to load data or code into it or use it for true zero-copy shared memory between the two domains. (Unlike the provided mechanism that uses DMA to move data between SRAM & DDR.)I have searched the ST & community wikis to no avail for more det
Hello. I have used the STM32MP157A-DK1 this year and I have learned to work with it. Now I develop my own PCB with STM32MP157CAC3. There is a 12-V external power supplier in it. I do't use USB Type-C. Can I do like this? I care about pins USB_PWR_CC1 and USB_PWR_CC2. It seems to me that they will not allow starting the processor without USB.Thanks!
am getting things like Multiple Problems have occurred. Compacting Resource Model. Refreshing Workspace, Workbench Autosave Job. An internal error occurred while showing an internal error. It says look at the .log file. I have not found where that is on my Linux computer. I am running workspace 1.5.1 it looks like the latest is 1.8. Should I just wipe out the STMCubeIDE and start over? I think a java update for the IDE yesterday killed this. I remember seeing it say something about running out of mermory. My whole system is using 5.6 GB out of the 32 GB installed.
Page 31 says PF0 is GPIO24/SDMMC3_D0 and on page 28 and 34 it says PF14 is ARDUINO_A2_ADC2_IN6.
Hi, I am using my custom SOM board based on STM32MP157CAC3 chip. The DDR, SDMMC1, UART4, I2C4 & PMIC configuration is same as of stm32mp157c-DK2 board. even I have used the same pin configuration in my hardware. For USB OTG, I have left USB ID and USB VBUS pin unconnected.I am using USB B Type Micro Connector to use the board as device only. My <board>-u-boot.dtsi file is as below, &usbotg_hs{ u-boot,dm-pre-reloc; u-boot,force-b-session-valid; hnp-srp-disable; dr_mode = "peripheral"; }; &usbh_ehci { u-boot,dm-pre-reloc; }; &usbh_ohci{ u-boot,dm-pre-reloc; }; &usbphyc { u-boot,dm-pre-reloc; }; &usbphyc_port0 { u-boot,dm-pre-reloc; }; &usbphyc_port1 { u-boot,dm-pre-reloc; }; /* USER CODE BEGIN addons */ &pmic { u-boot,dm-pre-reloc; }; /* USER CODE END addons */ my <baord>.dts file is as below,&usbh_ehci { phys = <&usbphyc_port0>; phy-names = "usb"; status = "okay"; }; &n

When compiling the U-boot, these four commands are used:PC $& gt; export KBUILD_OUTPUT=.. /build/stm32mp15_trustedPC $& gt; export DEVICE_TREE=stm32mp157c-dk2PC $& gt; make stm32mp15_trusted_defconfigPC $& gt; make alluse the first: export KBUILD_OUTPUT=.. /build/stm32mp15_trusted, the compiler will fail, but if there is no first statement, the compiler will succeed
I am trying to read/write the QuadSPI flash on the EV1 from the CM4 controller. I am able to flash and boot from the QuadSPI memory using STM32CubeProgrammer, but when I try to use QuadSPI init code ported from another ST chip (STM32H750), it hangs during QSPI_EnterFourBytesAddress() -> QSPI_WriteEnable() while auto-polling for the write enable bits. All other commands appear successful under debug until this point (incl. HAL_QSP_DeInit, HAL_QSP_Init, QSPI_ResetMemory, QSPI_EnterQPI, QSPI_AutoPollingMemReady). The chip commands used in these functions appear compatible between the MX25L51245G (EV1) and the MT25TL01G (H750B-DK). There seems no good way to tap the QSPI signals on the EV1 to diagnose if there are any line problems, but I have triple-checked the GPIO init and it SHOULD be right, so I'm not sure how to proceed. Obviously the QuadSPI works since the BootROM can access it...maybe it is just clock tree issues (I am using very basic bare-metal firmware on the A7 to boot the
