Hello! I am using stm32wb55 boards to exchange data. I added a new notification char in my server but client doesn't notice when I update the value of my new characteristic. But in ST BLE Sensor I can receive notifications from my new char, and also the client board only receive notifications from the standard notification char, that comes with the examples. How can I end up with this issue?
we are using ble in stm32wb series – Integrated balun design is there any reference schematic .the height of our application is 40feet can we use this ble with balun anteena or we will need an external antenna who we calculate the range and power ?
Hey Guys, Im new to ST and have the following Problem with the STM32WB55.I want to use the BLE function while the RTC is running in the background. The BLE should run for 10 seconds and shutdown after for 1 minute. When I go into the Standby Mode (Without BLE), i have a power consumption arround 800 nA, which is fine. When i'm doing this after I initialized the BLE with the "APPE_Init();", my power consumption is arround 0.6 mA, which is far to much. How can i fix this? Can i use the BLE without effecting the RTC? I saw that the BLE is using the RTC clock and also changes the prescaler. Thanks a lot!
Hi all,i bought the STM32WB55 Nucleo Pack and I tried different examples from the STM32WB55 Firmware Package. The BLE Datathroughput example worked fine for me, but the BLE Beacon won't work.I updated the FUS to the newest version.I flashed the newest version of the ble full firmware stack.I am using the STM32CubeIDE and opened the SW4STM32 folder and imported the Beacon Example project.I can compile it without Errors and can run it, but at the end i dont find any beacon.I tried with different eddystone beacons and with iBeacon. To find the beacon I am using a Galaxy S9 with Beacon Scanner App and the nRF Connect App.I don't know where the problem is and what i can do to make it work. Can anybody help me out? Thanks, Pat
I've looked at the reference design in the application note AN5615 page 13. This micro controller has integrated load capacitors for the high speed external oscillator. In the bottom right package, on the 32Mhz oscillator there is a symbol leading to ground. I do not understand what this specifies in wiring.Do the OSC_In and OSC_Out pins connect to the crystal and then connect to ground? My crystal package has 2 pads for ground as well. Is the diagram referring to these pads being connected to ground?I have attached some pictures of the schematics I am designing. I would greatly appreciate any help.AN5165: https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/dm00504903-development-of-rf-hardware-using-stm32wb-microcontrollers-stmicroelectronics.pdf
I attempted to update the network stack through SWD on a few STM32WB55 nucleo boards, dongles, and custom PCBs. The results were similar in all cases. When attempting to query the processor to see if the FUS is out-of-date (it should be since these were old boards), the return was:C:\Program Files (x86)\STMicroelectronics\STM32Cube\STM32CubeProgrammer\bin>STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe -c port=swd mode=UR -r32 0x20030030 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------- STM32CubeProgrammer v2.4.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------- ST-LINK SN : 55FF6D067880565343501667 ST-LINK FW : V2J36S7 Voltage : 3.22V SWD freq : 4000 KHz Connect mode: Under Reset Reset mode : Hardware reset Device ID : 0x495 Device name : STM32WB55xx Flash size : 1 MBytes Device type : MCU Device CPU : Cortex-M0+/M4 Reading 32-bit memory content Size : 4 Bytes Address: : 0x20030030 0x20030030 : 00000000For one nucleo board, I attempte
Hi all,I using Nucleo STM32WB55 and bootloader from STM (STM_OTA). For update firmware I using for now STM32CubeMonitor-RF and stm32WB USB DONGLE (which is part of nucleo kit). Now I would like to do this in other way - other tools, CLI, scripts...Is some other tools to use to get access to BLE characteristics read/write and update firmware, some kind may CLI (STM32CubeMonitor-RF - i don't found any commands) or script in pyton or other laguage ?I found BlueST-SDK but in my opinion don't work with nucleo STM32WB55 - I have issuess when try update firmware :~/Downloads/BlueSTSDK_Python/blue_st_examples $ sudo python3 example_ble_6.py ################## # BlueST Example # ################## Scanning Bluetooth devices... Hi,I'm playing around HSEM module and i noticed strange behavior. Why calling:HAL_HSEM_FastTake(HSEM_ID_0);orHAL_HSEM_Take(HSEM_ID_0, 0);lock all semaphores at once instead of just locking single semaphore specified by a macro using 0 as processid? Then calling release will unlock only the one specified macro and we end up with 31 semaphores locked unintentionally.
Hello, when specifying "use low level driver" for RTC in "Project Manager->Advanced Settings" of ioc editor in STM32CubeIDE, the generated code of the STM32_WPAN does not compile anymore, since it needs the drivers in "HAL version". It must also compile in "LL version".I even would say, all your distributed sample code should be as default "LL", since this is optimized in execution time and code size. HAL should be only "additional" with lower priority.Best regardsPaul
We are building a custom 4-layer PCB with STM32WB55RGV6 and would like to know if we can use MLPF-WB55-01E3 instead of discrete components. If yes, what is the PCB stack-up?Please let us know if this is feasible. Thanks in advance.regards,Kishan
The power supply diagram shows the vssa pin of the chip, but it is not specified in the Pinout. It is also not clear the vddpa designation(= VDDRF1V5 or VDDSMPS) and why it is not connected anywhere. I also didn't find any information about vssrf. do you have a recommended connection scheme?
Hi,I can enter STOP Mode 2 while not using the ST Sequence (UTIL_SEQ). I disable interruptions, clear the pending ones and just let the RTC to wake me up.HAL_RTCEx_SetWakeUpTimer_IT(&hrtc, 0xFFFF, RTC_WAKEUPCLOCK_RTCCLK_DIV8); HAL_PWR_EnterSTOPMode(PWR_LOWPOWERREGULATOR_ON, PWR_SLEEPENTRY_WFI); UTIL_LPM_EnterLowPower( ); HAL_ResumeTick(); SYSCLKConfig_STOP(); //restore clocks and so on...But when I do the same in void UTIL_SEQ_Idle( void ) I get wake up inmediatly... I tried to disable every single interrupt (I'm using GPIOS interrupts, RTC, Alarms, UART, Timer2 and the BLE stack for P2P_Server). Who is waking me up from sleep?void UTIL_SEQ_Idle( void ) { HAL_RTCEx_DeactivateWakeUpTimer(&hrtc); UTIL_LPM_SetStopMode(1U << CFG_LPM_APP, UTIL_LPM_ENABLE); UTIL_LPM_SetStopMode(1U << CFG_LPM_APP_BLE, UTIL_LPM_ENABLE); EXTI->PR1 = 0xFFFFFFFF; EXTI->PR2 = 0xFFFFFFFF; RTC_WAKEUPCLOCK_CK_SPRE_16BITS); __HAL_PWR_CLEAR_FLAG(PWR_FLAG_WU); HAL_SuspendTick(); HAL_NV
I am wondering if there is any application of stm32wb5x_rfmonitor_phy802_15_4fw.bin wireless coprocessor binary file. Please provide some details about this binary. Thanks in advance
I can see some of the devices like nrf52840 can be used as ble sniffer and integration with wireshark has been created. May i know if i can use STM32WB55 as BLE sniffer?.
Looking for more information on how exactly a scan is performed when an active connection to peripheral already exists. How is the RF radio shared in between the scan and connection? Can the connection interval be maintained during the scanWindow or can it only be maintained in the remaining time left in the scanInterval? What will happen if we attempt to start a scan with timing parameters that can no longer support a preexisting connection interval? We are having trouble configurating the Scan Parameters, Adv Interval and Connection Interval to ensure the connection to two devices simultaneously is reliable. How exactly should these value be chosen to optimise connection speed? Thanks,Daniel
I'm using the P-NUCLEO-WB55 development board, with only USB (CDC Device) enabled/configured through the STM32CubeIDE.I'm sending data from my laptop to the board over USB CDC (Virtual Com Port) in Full-Speed mode.Specifically, my laptop is sending 1041 bytes, and I'm using the following (simple) Python script (it depends on pyserial):import serial s = serial.Serial('/dev/cu.usbmodem206F389630361 or COM3 or /dev/ttyACM0') msg = bytearray(1041) for i in range(0, len(msg)): msg[i] = 0xA5 print(s.write(msg))When I run this script on Linux or Windows 10, everything works fine, i.e. the board receives the 1041 bytes sent by the laptop. However, when I run this script on macOS, a lot of packets are lost. I'm not sure which ones specifically, but the board receives between 400 and 900 bytes instead of 1041.Is it a macOS USB driver problem?Any tips?
Hello,I have connected a BNO055 Sensor via I2C to a STM32WB Nucleo board. The sensor data is send by a BLE Service without problems after powering the device. However, if I change the code and upload via STM32CubeIDE or press the reset button on the device, the I2C connection seems broken... I do receive a HAL error from time to time... Question: is there a way to securely reset all pins apart from pressing RESET or is this more likely to be my software's problem?
why in the debug mode the usb is stop working ? I want to debug my code step by step but usb port is aromatically disconnected in debug mode
I'm building a thread application on STM32WB55, and to address individual device I require a static address that should not change after every power reset sequence, and in my opinion that could factory programmed MAC or 802.15.4 EUI64. For the moment I'm runningThread_CLI example code from ST and whenever I try to fetch MAC I get a randomnumber. Also I don't see any address/Serial number mentioned ondevelopment board as it does by various other 2.4GHz RF device vendors. @Remi QUINTIN
Empty code initialized peripherals(UART,SPI) code generated by STM32CubeIDE give error undefined reference to lpuart1_irqhandler at compile time.In stm32wb50 only UART, SPI ,I2C & RF communication channel available.Startup file has lpuart1_irqhandler , which is wrong .if I can remove that line(line 197) from startup file it compile and run properly otherwise not. What I do?

Hi,I am trying to use resolvable private addresses with BLE on two STM32WB-NUCLEO, one acting as P2PClient, one as P2PServer.The Architecture i would like to realize is:one BLEClient that acts like a collector, it receives data from some peripherals and send them to an Online server via Wifi or GSM connection.6-8 BLEServers that samples data and send them to the BLEClient.I have thought about this implementation:The clients have always the same IRK, flashed during the first programming, and knows the IRKs of the servers in order to connect them. The servers have all different IRK, flashed during first programming, and performs directed advertising on the client address. The client knows witch are the servers he should connect (read the IRK from the Online server), so it connects the servers (that are direct advertising it) using resolvable private addresses. It is not important if the BLE connections are all always up or the collector connects one BLEServer at the time.I succeeded in dire
Hi,I start a project with a custom board with STM32WB55 MCU on it.I wrote a simple code to work with PWM output at 100kHz on the channel 4 of TIM1 with 50% duty cycle. When I check the signal on the pin A11 all is ok.Then I start à new project from BLE_p2pServer_ota example project and I merge my previous code. And I have a weird behaviour on my signal. It looks like the right pwm signal for about 3 to 5 cycles then it stuck at "0" or "1" for some µs then my signal goes pwm again then stuck and so on.I think there is some mecanism that goes to sleep sometimes causing the pwm to stop and resume but I didn't find where I can tune this up.BLE p2p containt a huge amount of code, could someone help me targeting where the problem may come? Thanks
Hello everyone, ive bought a Nucleo STM32WB55 evaluation board (MB1355C) + Dongle (MB1293C), which ive played around a bit for a while now with trying out different examples from the STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.5.0 Firmware package. My goal is to use the STM32WB55 on a custom board (which ive already layouted) in a battery powered application to transfer a constant stream of data (ADC values) to the Nucleo Board (MB1355C) , which should act as a GATT Server, and the custom board should be the GATT Client.Would it be feasible to use the examples from the firmware package (i.e. "BLE_DataThroughput") and to modify them for my application, or would it be better to start from scratch using CubeMX for my custom board? Or is there any other, better way?
