Hi,I have few custom boards with STM32MP257 mostly running PTP related tasks. Once in a while (once in a few days of continuous run) I have noticed the following error in the dmesg (as it seems UART related - I have 4 UARTs enabled in the DT, while 3 of them have DMA enabled (the console one does not have the DMA enabled), but only one UART (other than console) is being used in the system for RX only):[251158.390476] Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address dead000000000108[251158.392934] Mem abort info:[251158.395854] ESR = 0x0000000096000044[251158.399679] EC = 0x25: DABT (current EL), IL = 32 bits[251158.405114] SET = 0, FnV = 0[251158.408235] EA = 0, S1PTW = 0[251158.411457] FSC = 0x04: level 0 translation fault[251158.416489] Data abort info:[251158.419408] ISV = 0, ISS = 0x00000044, ISS2 = 0x00000000[251158.425041] CM = 0, WnR = 1, TnD = 0, TagAccess = 0[251158.430173] GCS = 0, Overlay = 0, DirtyBit = 0, Xs = 0[251158.435607] [dead000000000108] address between us

HelloI am currently developing an AC switch for a heating boiler in a coffee machine. The boiler has a power rating of approx. 1200W.  To control the boiler, I have opted for a triac circuit (T1250H-6I) with an optotriac (14230634300) and ZCC. I used Application Note AN5114 to size the resistors. The description is generally excellent. However, I have a question regarding the voltage ripple on the triac. The note recommends a value of 4V. I cannot achieve this value with the standard resistor values available. My calculations give a voltage ripple of approx. 25V. Is that too much? Or what can I do to get down to the recommended value of 4V, triac with lower Igt?Best regardsJohn

Hi All,I’m working on a project using an 8-bit microcontroller connected to an ST25DVXXKC NFC chip over I²C. The standard NFC features are working correctly, and the code is already in production. Now I’m trying to implement Fast Transfer Mode (FTM) for OTA updates and bidirectional data transfer between the microcontroller and the NFC reader.I’m currently using ST’s ST25FTM library and the ST25DV64KC-DISCO Kit v2.2.1 package, but I’m confused by the available examples and documentation, which seem limited and unclear regarding how to properly port and use the library. In the v2.2.1 package, there is a Demonstrations folder containing two projects:ST25DVDemoUses ftm_demo.cCalls functions from the ST25FTM library & uses callback functionsST25DVDemo_FwUpgdUses mailbox.c and mailboxfunc.cAppears to implement Fast Transfer Mode using a single function FTMManagement(void)From my understanding:The first project is more library-driven (ST25FTM-based).The second project seems to implement FT

Hi!I have a STM32103 processor and I wonder if something bad can occurs if I use an external oscillator to OSC_IN and leave the OSC,_OUT floating. With a ceramic crystal HSE configuration in CubeMX.I know that the BYPASS clock source is the best HSE configuration for an external source (as I have) because then the OCS_OUT is not oscilating. But for me, it won't make any difference because my OSC_OUT is floating and not connected to anything. Or will this break after few years of running?I know that my OSC_OUT have the same oscillations as OSC_IN due to the "wrong" configuration.

Hello everyone, I am working on a design using STM32F401RE and need to interface a barcode scanner that works over a standard 5 V USB interface. The barcode scanner behaves like a typical USB device (likely HID/CDC) and expects: USB host on the other end 5 V VBUS supply it also has RS232 interfacing option aswell. However, as per STM32F401RE documentation, it supports only VBUS voltage max 3.6V. I would like guidance on: Whether it is technically possible to interface a 5 V USB barcode scanner directly with STM32F401RE. If not, what practical alternatives are recommended. The goal is to reliably read barcode data into the MCU in an embedded system (no PC involved). Thanks in advance for your support.

I want to add NFC functionality to an existing product. Because the PCB is made of aluminium, I can't use a PCB antenna. On the enclosure of the product, there is a small PCB with 2 pushbuttons and some leds. My idea is to place the PCB antenna on this small PCB.But because of space restrictions, I can't add positions to the existing connector. My idea is to connect the antenna in parallel to the pushbuttons (see attached drawing). The GPIOs of the uP are inputs. I'm aware that the NFC does not work if a pushbutton is being pressed. My questions are: Do you think this can work? Can the ST25DV04 take damage, if an antenna connection is shortet to GND? Can the 1K resistors remain in the circuit or do I need to replace them with 0R resisorts?

Hi Team,I am working on a custom board with STSPIN32F0601S3, after generating code using MCSDK Version 6.3.0 with cube Mx 6.10.0, I tried to connect Motor pilot just start/stop and change RPM but it did not connect, Pls confirm which steps I am missingBelow are the steps I followed but still it did not connect 1.Uploaded and RUN code (using cube ide)2. RESET board3. Opened workbench and selected Motor Pilot but it leads to default App Mode (pls refer screenshot) not detecting firmware although code is in run mode and not able to use Motor pilot which was along with MCSDK Pack 6.3.0

Dear ST Support, I am using the STM32WB55 series and have encountered an issue where the Flash erase operation gets stuck when BLE scanning is active. Specifically, the Flash erase call (SHCI_C2_FLASH_EraseActivity(ERASE_ACTIVITY_ON)) does not proceed as long as the BLE scan procedure is running, even if the scan interval and window are configured with minimal values (e.g., SCAN_P = 0x320 and SCAN_L = 0x10). It seems that as long as BLE scanning is ongoing, the Flash operation remains blocked. From my understanding, the BLE stack on the M0 core occupies some resources during the scan procedure, and Flash operations are blocked until all BLE activities are terminated. This behavior persists even when BLE is only actively scanning for a small portion of the interval. Could you please clarify: Is it expected that Flash erase/write operations cannot be performed during any ongoing BLE activity, regardless of scan interval/window settings? Is there a recommended method to sa

Hi there, We are troubleshooting an issue with our module where the GPGGA return shows no satellites detected. We have verified our circuitry according to the hardware instructions document on ST's website - https://www.st.com/resource/en/user_manual/um2832-teseovic3d-and-teseovic3da-hardware-instructions-stmicroelectronics.pdfWe are currently using a similar antenna that came with the GNSS dev kit. We know that there are satellites that can be picked up as the dev kit operates fines. If anyone has any troubleshooting recommendations, sharing them would be greatly appreciated. The datasheet doesnt have explicit bring-up guidelines. As a result, i have only configured the PSTMINITGPS field, and nothing else. Are there other fields required to be configured out of the box? Also, our ANT_OFF pin is currently floating. I have measured 3.3V on the antenna itself though.

Hello STM Community,I am a beginner working with the STM32H7B3I-EVAL evaluation board based on the STM32H7B3LIH6Q MCU, and I am currently setting up my development environment on Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS.I installed STM32CubeIDE 1.18.0 using the following installer:st-stm32cubeide_1.18.0_24413_20250227_1633_amd64.sh.zipI am facing a few issues and would really appreciate your guidance.1. Need existing demo codes for STM32H7B3I-EVALI would like to get the existing/demo example codes available for this board, especially the examples related to the firmware version currently flashed on my board, which shows:Firmware Version: V1.0.1Could anyone please guide me on where to find the exact demo code corresponding to the factory-flashed board behavior, if available?I am specifically looking for separate demo examples for:LEDADCGPIOUARTSPII2CTFT/LCDTouchCameraWi-Fiother onboard peripheralsI am using Linux Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS, so Linux-compatible steps would be very helpful. At the moment, I mainly need

We have a custom stldr file that we generate to program external flash on our board with STM32U599VJ MCU, we use STM32 CUBE IDE with Jlink. How do I point the IDE to use my stldr file when loading code to onchip and external flash? The option to point to an external loader stldr appears on my if the debug configuration is chosen with STLink, not for Jlink.  ThanksSansh

Hello, What HAL2 API can I use to turn on/off the output of a timer? In HAL (ver 1) this could have been done like this:TIMx->CCER &= ~TIM_CCER_CC1E; // Example for Channel 1: ~TIM_CCER_CC1E // or __HAL_TIM_MOE_DISABLE(&htimx); Thank you,-Gil

Hello.I am trying to implement RFID using NXP's NT3H2211W0FT1. The microcontroller I am using is the STM32C031F6.After powering on the board, the first thing I do is read the data from the NT3H2211W0FT1 via I2C, but sometimes I can read it and sometimes I can't.I tried leaving a wait of more than one second after powering it on, but that didn't change the situation. The program for the I2C part is below.while(icdata_flg==0){ HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOA, ANNTENA_SW_Pin,GPIO_PIN_SET); HAL_Delay(10); tdata[0]=0x01;//Read HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit(&hi2c1,0xaa,tdata,1,100); HAL_Delay(10); HAL_I2C_Master_Receive(&hi2c1,0xab,rdata,8,100); HAL_Delay(10); HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOA, ANNTENA_SW_Pin,GPIO_PIN_RESET); } I would appreciate any advice you could give me regarding I2C communication.

Dear all, I have an arm Ubuntu system and would like to use the st32programmer. Unfortunately, ST provide only this code for Intel Linux machine Any chance to have this tool ready for arm Ubuntu machines? Kind regards, Edo

Hello, I have 2 boards an STM32F407 disco and an STM3F746DISCO and i want to create a project that implements an external LCD screen to the board however when the project runned well with the F746 the screen didnt work with the F407 any guidelines?

I designed my own PCB based on the EVSTSPIN32G4 evaluation board and created a project in STM32Cube IDE. When testing the STSPIN32G4’s internal driver, I encountered an issue: no matter what I do, the GHS voltage remains at 5.8V, the GLS voltage is 0V, and the OUT voltage is also 5.8V. I have tried setting PE8 to high or ground, as well as using PWM, but the voltage on GHS1 never rises. Reading the I²C register values does not trigger any protection; the STBY value is 0 and does not enter low-power mode; the nFAULT pin remains low regardless. As far as I can tell, there are no errors. Could an expert please provide some guidance? I upgraded to STM32CubeIDE Version: 2.1.1 and imported my existing projects as STM32. I opened Project / Properties / C/C++ Build and it says "This is not a CDT project." I've never seen that before using version 1.18.1. What happened and how can I fix it?

Hello Everyone,I am attempting to debug code on the STM32 Blue Pill board. The project compiles successfully, but when I start a debug session, it fails with the message “Launch debugging failed,” along with additional error details shown below. I would appreciate any guidance on resolving this issue.Note: I am using an ST-Link V2 programmer (A2020 version).Wiring is done correctly checked multiple time.I had doubts about the Debugger configurations. Are there any other settings must be modifiable, or any other ways arethere?" Hello my friends, I hope you are doing great.I am trying to create a custom driver for UART peripheral with CMSIS register header files.I have created a build system using the board files and linkers and make. So far I have been able to make drivers for the GPIO pins. Now I am trying to create my own driver for the UART peripheral via the CMSIS. So far I have created this: int uart_params_init(uart_t *uart){ if (!uart) return -1; // defualt configs: uart->tx_pin = 9; uart->rx_pin = 10; uart->baudrate = 115200; uart->tx_port = GPIOA; uart->rx_port = GPIOA; uart->instance = USART1; uart->tx_af = 1; uart->rx_af = 1; return 0; } int uart_init(uart_t *uart) { if (!uart || !uart->tx_port || !uart->rx_port) return -1; if (uart_initialized) return 0; // Enable GPIO clocks for the port: if (uart->tx_port == GPIOA || uart->rx_port == GPIOA){ RCC->IOPENR |= RCC_IOPENR_GPIOAEN; } else if (uart->tx_port == GPIOB || uart->rx_po

Hi, I am using the STM32N6570-DK development kit and I want to flash my FSBL and Application firmware into external flash using USB. Currently, I am able to flash the firmware using ST-LINK, but I want to perform flashing through USB as well. I configured the boot pins as mentioned in the datasheet: BOOT0 = High BOOT1 = Low Current behavior The device is detected in STM32CubeProgrammer when connected via USB. USB connection is successful. Partitions such as FSBL, RSSE_FW, RSSE_BLOB, RSSE_PLUGIN, etc., are visible. However, the Download / Erasing & Programming option is disabled. Questions Is flashing external flash through USB supported on STM32N6570-DK? Do I need to configure any OTP boot source or BOOTROM settings to enable USB flashing? Any guidance or examples on how to enable external flash programming via USB would be very helpful.Thank you.

Hey ST-Community,I’m working with an STM32H7S78-DK board and trying to get Ethernet running. TouchGFX and FreeRTOS are working fine, but I’m stuck with lwIP. The task starts, but DHCP never succeeds (the printed IP is always 0.0.0.0). I also tried with a static IP, but I still can’t ping the board. Deactivating TouchGFX didn't help.I've followed this video: STM32 : How to Get an IP Address via DHCP on STM32H7S78-DK with LwIP using IAR EWARMLwIP has the following memory settings:MEM_SIZE = 14*1024BytesTCPIP_THREAD_SIZE = 4 * 1024BytesI've configured the MPU as well following the given Video.I’m not sure where to look next – maybe I’m missing some configuration step? Has anyone successfully used lwIP with this board and could give me a hint? Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi,    I bought VIPER06LN from mouser. Please help me check the COD. The Chinese custom need this information.   Thank you

I am using STM32C071FBP6N MCU TSSOP 20 pin package for one of our project.I am observing Pin_20 is muxed with lot of other pins like PB3/PB4/PB5/PB6. if i select PB3 as GPIO_Output using STM32CubeMx and generated a code. If i try to toggle the pin but its not working at all, none of the peripheral on that pin for PB3 is working. But if i select PB6 as GPIO_Output i can able to toggle or modify. This issue is not only with Pin_20, same with Pin_1 also which shares with PB7/PB8, only PB7 is working.I have tried with multiple chips what could be wrong in this scenario??

I am generating a PWM signal using timer1 register and use it in Center aligned mode. I want to to know if i can modify the timer counter register TIMx_CNT register with some "x" value in the timer interrupt instead of resetting it to 0.
