Hi,Having just updated to STM32CubeIDE 2.1.1, I've created an STM32CubeIDE Empty Project (the only apparent relevant option) targeting the STM32F072 Discovery Kit as I want to experiment with the touch sensing capabilities, however when the project is created I don't see an IOC file. Has the workflow reverted to using STM32CubeMX to create the IOC file etc. please?Kind regards,Al

Hi all,I’m working on STM32U385 with OEMiRoT and following this ST wiki page:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mcu/wiki/Security:How_to_adapt_a_user_application_to_ROT_for_STM32U3However, I cannot see any of the images/diagrams in the page (they appear blank or missing).I tried different browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) and different PCs, but the issue remains. Can someone confirm if the images are visible on their side, or if this is a known issue with the wiki page? The diagrams are quite important to understand the ROT/OEMiRoT flow and flash layout. Thanks in advance.Marco Giacomin

Hello Community,I'm working on a storage module using SDcard for my project. In my application I would like to read and write to the SDcard using the MDMA as indicated in the reference manual of my micro-controller. For now I have the SDcard working in 4-bit mode but using the CPU.I use the STM32H757II on a PCB connected to a SDcard reader on the same PCB.With CubeMX I generated the code that allow me to mount a FATFS on my microcontroller and I can create/open/write/read on file with no problem. But my application needs to log a lot of data to the sdcard periodically, to free-up the CPU I would like to do the transfer using a DMA.In the reference manual 58.5.7 MDMA request generation it is explained that the MDMA can control the SDMMC peripheral to start new transfer"The internal trigger lines from the SDMMC allow passing direct request to MDMA controllerto enable successive transfers from/to different internal RAM addresses without CPU use. [...]The event can trigger the clearance of

good morning!Where can I get information about the datacode of such a chip ST1L05CPU33R?There is no information about the marking in the technical documentation.

I am planning to use STM32U083CC series MCU in my project and after inspecting datasheet there is a line "Vddusb should be preferably connected to Vdd when the USB is not used)". I know that Vddusb is independent from Vdd but is it omitted that i can not use Vdd for Vddusb? I mean should i need extra AMS1117 3.3 for instance to feed Vddusb?

I am new to using the STM32H563, 64 pin package and am trying to implement Dallas 1 wire protocol with a UART.Initially I was going to use transmit and receive with diode back into Tx, but I saw example using the Half duplex mode of the UART and thought I would give that a go.However, whenever I change the USART1 pin to open drain (Pin 59 of 64 pin package), the line which is pulled up by a 4k7 resistor drops to about 200mV.  If I try to transmit with the UART, I can see the Open drain pulling from 200mV down to ground as the data goes through. If I place another 4k7 pullup in parallel, the voltage increases to 400mV.If I make the pin an input, the voltage goes up to 3.3V as expected. If I make the pin full duplex standard USART1 TX with PP pin, the voltage goes to 3.3V.I have removed all other components so it is just the processor pin itself, setting Open Drain just fails to give me a proper open drain, it seems to have something else loading the line. Both pullup and pulldown res

Hi, I am trying to deploy a custom object detection model on the STM32N6-Nucleo board.I started with this:https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/stm32ai-modelzoo-services/tree/main/object_detectionThe training gets done, I get the performance metrics, python stm32ai_main.pyThe deployment code works fine, and I get the deployment complete message. But when I change from development mode to flash boot mode. It doesn't detect the camera. When I program the demo camera.hex filehttps://github.com/STMicroelectronics/x-cube-n6-camera-capture/tree/main/Binary/NUCLEO-N657X0-Qor object detection .hex file,https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32N6-GettingStarted-ObjectDetection/tree/main/Binary/NUCLEO-N657X0-Q/USB-UVC-Displaythe camera works perfectly.Below are the training and deployment configuration files. These are the only files I changed. I would really appreciate any help in this regard. Thank you,# training configure.yaml file:general:project_name: custom_food_yoloxn_256logs_dir: logssav

Hi,I am planning to use an STM32N6 in a project where I need a real-time clock (RTC).My goal is to run the RTC with minimal power consumption. As far as I understand, this involves using the V_BAT domain, where the microcontroller is supplied through the dedicated backup supply pins.In my application, only the RTC needs to be running, while the rest of the system should be completely inactive. The main supply voltage will be absent most of the time.According to the datasheet, I end up with a current consumption of about 40.5 µA at 25 °C in this configuration. This seems quite high, especially when targeting a lifetime of around 5 years.Since it appears that only a small portion of this current is actually used by the RTC itself, I am wondering if there are ways to further optimize the configuration to reach something closer to 1 µA or below.I would really appreciate any tips, best practices, or measurement results.Best regards,Marius

Hi, newbie here - I have some experience with the f4 series, but am working on a small project for which I would like to try a stm32u0 MCU. Looking at the stm32u031 20-pin TSSOP, I am confused by something. When I load this MCU in cubeMX, and tick on I2C 1, I see a single pin 'light up' for both SCL and SDA. The datasheet implies I should be able to choose a pin with an alternate function for one of these, but I can't figure out how I might do this....I see pin PA8 seems to have an alternate mapping to PA9, which seems like it might work for i2cSCL, but I don't know how to select it. I feel like an ***, but I'm unsure how to configure this using cubeMX, or how one is meant to work with these apparently-double-functioned pins? Thanks!

I need the version that support programming the PSD311,as well as the DLPortIO driver.Thanks.

Hello,I am using the STM32H7B3I-EVAL board with STM32H7B3LIH6Q controller. The board revision I am using is MB1370-lcd-b02 a254300030.I downloaded the official demo package from the ST website:STM32H7B3I-EVAL → Tools & Software → Demo Code Package. After extracting the ZIP file, I tried flashing the provided  .hex demo file into the controller using STM32CubeProgrammer.However, programming fails with the following errors:Error: failed to download Sector[0]Error: failed to download the FileThe board is detected correctly through ST-LINK, and connection is successful. I already tried:Reducing SWD frequencyFull chip eraseHardware reset / Under reset modeBut the issue still occurs.Could anyone please suggest:Whether the provided demo .hex file is directly compatible with STM32H7B3LIH6Q?If any special option bytes or external memory configuration is required?Whether the demo depends on external QSPI/OSPI memory or specific boot settings?Thank you.

Hi,using STM32CubeIDE 2.1.1 and STM32CubeMX 6.17, I'm a little confused on how to import an existing ioc-file created by CubeMX into an existing project in CubeIDE. And to later modify it.Confusion is drawn from this tutorial: https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/stm32cubeide-2-0-0-workflow-tutorial/ta-p/864831 At the end, it is somehow saying to use the import function of CubeIDE for an ioc-File which is located (physically) on a different location than the project itself (ioc-file in §2.3 tutorial c:/users/ST/Documents while project is in workspace 2.0.0, from which I assume it is stored in a different folder). Then, later on in §2.5, MCU gets some modification (added I2C in the example) and code is newly generated (in c:/users/ST/Documents and CubeIDE requires a refresh (F5) to capture the updated MCU configuration) (see also equivalent video tutorial at around 4:05min)So good, so confusing. Why?1) CubeIDE shows the ioc-file in the project tree, and is physicall

We are considering a system configuration in which a model created in Simulink is programmed onto an STM32 microcontroller, and CAN communication (both transmission and reception) is performed. In this context, we would like to ask for your recommendations regarding:STM32CubeMX configuration required for CAN communicationKey hardware wiring points and precautions when using CANWe would appreciate it if you could share any recommended settings or best practices from STMicroelectronics. In particular, we would be grateful for your advice on any points to consider regarding consistency between CubeMX configuration/initialization code and code generated using Simulink and Embedded Coder.

hello ST Community,I'm trying to protect sector 0 of the flash drive from mass erasure using the PCCOP Protection option on the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q.After tinkering around a bit to understand its functions, I can no longer reset its protection to its default state. Currently, it looks like the one in the photo:When I try to set these valuesPROT_AREA_START1 = 0x0801FF00PROT_AREA_END1 = 0x080100FFwhich i believe are their default values, both in the RDP=0xAA and RDP=0xBB states, I get this error. How can I fix this? Is there a way to reset PCROP Protection to its default mode? Thanks for the support.

I am using a stm32 F103RCT6 mcu. It has 256 Kb of flash memory. But when i connect it to cube programmer, it shows there are 256 sectors of 2K size which equates to 512 Kb flash.  I was even able to go to that last page and write data to it. so is the linker script generated by HAL wrong?

I was wondering what is that. I created a custom bootloader firmware and application firmware. But once I successfully uploaded. When I send application firmware resquest I do not receive application firmware responses. Why is that? what is that? do you recognize that?  The AA 01 00 00 BB is the application firmware request frame.  0xAA is the begining 0x01 is the length 0x00 is the frame request ID  0x00 is the checksum 0xBB is the end of the frame  Thanks for all.

Hi everyone,I am working on a project using the STM32H753ZI Nucleo-144 board. My goal is to save data to an external USB thumb drive via the CN13 (USB OTG FS) port.My Environment:RTOS Stack: ThreadX, NetXDuo (Ethernet is working), USBX (Host/Storage Class), and FileX.Tools: STM32CubeMX v6.12/6.17 and IAR Embedded Workbench.Clocking: Using HSI48 for USB, stabilized by the CRS (Source: LSE).Hardware Configuration:VBUS: Manually controlled via PD10 (STMPS2141). I have confirmed with a multimeter that 5V is present on the port when the software runs.VBUS Sensing: Disabled in CubeMX (since I am driving power manually).USB_OTG_FS Settings:Mode: Host_Only.Speed: Full Speed (12 MBit/s).DMA: Disabled.Interrupts: USB OTG FS global interrupt enabled (Priority 15).The Issue: Despite the drive having power, the USBX stack does not seem to trigger the device insertion callback. I suspect the issue lies in the registration of the Host Controller Driver (HCD) or the link between the HAL interrup

Could you provide technical details or reference designs for a 2W wireless charger based on the STWBC86JR?

I'm working with an STM32U3C5RIT6 using the HSP to do some FFT-based audio DSP with the HSP Engine middleware. I've got it working correctly using direct mode and I'm trying to squeeze out a bit more performance using process lists but for some reason the RFFT output isn't the same when used in a process list. Here's the code I use for accelerator / direct mode which works correctly:HSP_ACC_VectMul_f32(&hmw, FFT_Buffer, Window, FFT_Buffer, HSP_BLKSZ); HSP_ACC_Rfft_f32(&hmw, FFT_Buffer, HSP_LOG2NBP_512, 0U, 1U, HSP_RFFT_TYPE_2);I then create a process list using the SEQ versions of the same operations:HSP_SEQ_StartRecordPL(&hmw, PROC_IN); HSP_SEQ_VectMul_f32(&hmw, FFT_Buffer, Window, FFT_Buffer, HSP_BLKSZ, HSP_SEQ_IOTYPE_DEFAULT); HSP_SEQ_Rfft_f32(&hmw, FFT_Buffer, HSP_LOG2NBP_512, 0U, 1U, HSP_RFFT_TYPE_2, HSP_SEQ_IOTYPE_DEFAULT); HSP_SEQ_StopRecordPL(&hmw); --snip-- HSP_SEQ_RunTask(&hmw, PROC_IN, PRC_TIMEOUT);and the results are not the same. Hello, I am currently working on a project where we want to use the VL53L7CX sensor for motion detection.  Looking through the documentation, I couldn't find any information on what the read and write addresses and values are for communicating with the VL53L7CX, there was just the X-CUBE-TOF1 Time of Flight expansion software for the STM32Cube IDE. I wanted to know if there was information available to communicate with the VL53L7CX via I2C, since I wanted to use the ESP32 for writing the firmware using the Espressif platform.

Dear ST Technical Support Team,I am writing to request technical assistance regarding a recurring hardware failure with the STM32H743IIT6 MCU on my custom-designed PCB.Problem Description:After initial assembly, the MCU is correctly recognized by STM32CubeProgrammer and STM32CubeIDE via the ST-LINK (Serial Wire mode). I can successfully flash the firmware and debug the device for a limited number of cycles (typically 2 to 5 times). However, the MCU eventually enters a state where:It is no longer recognized by any programming tool ("No STM32 target found").The chip begins to draw excessive current (overheating rapidly). The hardware suffers permanent damage (internal short-circuit).Firmware Configuration:Debug Hardware: Serial Wire (SWD).Timebase Source: SysTick.Clock Configuration: Configured via STM32CubeIDE (no errors reported in the clock tree).Operating Voltage: 3.3V stable.Technical Concerns:I have verified the schematic, but the repeated physical failure suggests an internal latch

Hi I am looking into using STM32F446RCTx for my design, which includes 2 x USB FS 2.0 (1 x Host + 1 x Device). Hence need to provide an external HSE. I want to use an Oscillator, meaning I setup the HSE as "Bypass Clock Source" .With this setup I planned to use the pin 6 (PH1_OSC_OUT) as a GPIO for other functionalities. But the STM32CubeMX setting does not let me do this.I see that this pin will be (OSC_OUT) High Impedance as per RM0390 - Page 120. Am I right in say that I MUST leave this pin NC and cannot free up to use as GPIO?Thanks.

Hello, We are facing an intermittent CAN-FD issue in the field and would appreciate guidance from the community. Our system has two devices on the bus (no other device on the bus) using a request–response architecture. The master sends a request every 30 ms and the slave responds. This setup is deployed in hundreds of units running continuously (24 hours). Out of these, around 3 to 5 units per day show acknowledgement errors, which we track through the CAN protocol error counters. The behaviour is unusual: • The issue appears randomly on any unit.• No bus-off condition is ever reported.• Despite no bus-off, communication between the two nodes temporarily stops.• Communication recovers automatically after a few seconds without any intervention. Initially, we suspected a physical wiring problem. We re-checked all connectors and even secured them with glue. The bus has 120-ohm termination at both ends. However, the issue still appears randomly. Below are the system details: Microcontrolle

System Setup Board: NUCLEO-G0B1RE (STM32G0B1RET6)CAN Transceiver: CAN-FD 4 Click (NCV7344) connected via level shifter (3.3V → 5V)FDCAN Pins: PC4 (TX), PC5 (RX) on FDCAN1Clock: HSI 16 MHz → PLL → 64 MHz FDCAN clock Second Node: Raspberry Pi 4 with MCP2517FD Click board (ATA6563 transceiver, 20 MHz crystal)RPi CAN Interface: can0 configured with bitrate 500000 dbitrate 2000000 fd on Project Context I'm building a BMS (Battery Management System) CAN-FD emulator. The STM32 reads values from a potentiometer via ADC and transmits telemetry frames (ID 0x100, 8 bytes) every 100ms. The Raspberry Pi is the receiver that should log these frames. Problem When both nodes are connected in FDCAN_MODE_NORMAL, the STM32 transmits frames (confirmed via serial debug prints and g_tx_count incrementing in the debugger), but nothing appears on candump can0 on the Raspberry Pi. The STM32 eventually enters BUS-OFF state. What I've Already
