Hi, When compiling program using Keil IDE, understand that the program size that flash to MCU can be calculate by:Program size = Code + RO + RWHowever, when compiling using STM32CubeIDE, how to know the program size going to flash into the MCU flash memory? I got the following memory details as below. Is the program size = text + data?

I have an STM32F407G discovery development kit. I activate CANBUS while doing pin configuration via CubeMX. Then in project manager > advanced settings > driver selector tab, I can select both LL library and HAL library in all options such as GPIO, DMA, USART, ADC. But when I want to select LL library for CANBUS, I see that only HAL library is available. Why is there no LL support for CANBUS in CubeMX? Is there any way to add it? I would appreciate if you can help me.

I’m working with the STEVAL-ESC001V1 and noticed that there is no overcurrent protection (OCP) feature. How can I enable or implement OCP using firmware version 6.3.0? Are there any specific guidelines or examples to follow?

I have an STM32F407G discovery development kit. We are embedding the software into this kit entirely using Embedded Coder through Simulink. We needed to use CANBUS to transfer the data we read from the board to the computer (via MATLAB). However, when CANBUS is activated through CubeMX, only the HAL library can be selected as a library, and the LL library cannot be selected. When generating code suitable for the board with MATLAB, code generation can only be done if the LL library is selected. We request your support in solving this issue. We would appreciate it if you could help.

I had sought help a while back for code on establish FDCAN communication in Classic mode between H7A3ZI-Q and G474RE, I did get the correct code and it indeed worked with the two boards, but now when I try to run it on Normal mode, the code fails to recieve data on the other end. It would be really helpful if someone explains how to do so. Please find attached zip files containg the code for FDCAN communication in Classic Mode.

Hello there :) I create a project with TouchGFX 4.24.1, then import it to CubeIDE 1.16.1, which are both the current versions. Once i open the .ioc file, it says the file need to either be migrated to 6.12.1 or I can use the file as is, which seems to be 6.12.0. So there might be some missmatch between the current software releases.  Furthermore, and what really is my problem right now, is once I adjust any settings in cubeMX (USB_FS, ETH+LwIP), the files do get generated normally in the project directory, but are not included/linked in the project in cubeIDE at all. For small things this does'nt matter that much, but e.g. for LwIP there is so much stuff to manually add... Do I have something setup wrong, can this be adjusted, or is this i known bug with the newest release? I already did a clean reinstall of all STM-Programs.Example .ioc file attached (i just did a quick enable of USB and lwip for testing). Thanks!

Hi, just installed STM32CubeIDE 1.0.2 on a laptop with a 4k UHD display. The editor (the Eclipse part) displays fine, but the Target Selector and "Cube" interface are really small. How to fix this please? Thanks

Hi,i have a custom design with a STSPIN32G4 SoC. However, I think my question does refer to the internal microcontroller (STM32G431VBTx) and not the motor controller.Timer TIM3 does trigger an interrupt every 10 ms.The Interrupt starts a conversion of ADC2, which reads the channels IN3 (single ended), IN4 (signle ended), IN8 (single ended), and VOPAMP3 channelA single conversation should take about 60 µs (ADC_CLK = 170 MHz / 4; 640.5 Cycles per Channel; 4 * 640.5 / 42.5 MHz = 60 µs)VOPAMP3 is configured as PGA Internally Connected with a gain factor of 32.The measured voltages of IN3, IN4, and IN8 are ok.The output voltage of VOPAMP3 is different than expected.According to the datasheet of the microcontroller (5.3.22 Operational amplifiers characteristics) the OPV hasan input common mode range from 0 to VDDAa maximum offset Voltage of 3 mV over the entire temperature rangethe low saturation voltage is at 100 mV I would expect the maximum measured output voltage to be somewhere aro

Hi,i am not able to create an example project because i always get the message "Your IDE is missing natures to properly support your projects" after i want to finish the project setup. What does this mean?If i cancle it, i am not able to build the project, because the "Hammer Symbol" is not active:in CubeIDE 1.14.1 for example it works.

HiMy project is using an alientek 4.3 inch TFTLCD screen, which is driven by FMC (Flexible Memory Controller). And  ，The display effect of the button control does not meet my expectations after I load it.“next text”is my button, that there are many horizontal dots or speckles inside。thank you

Hi ST CommunityI am having a MotorControl setup with the B-G431B-ESC1 board. The default project generated with MotorControl Workbench uses the OPAMP1, 2 and 3 and their outputs are set to pin A2, A6 and B1. These output pins are then fed to the ADC: ADC1_IN3 (A2), ADC2_IN3 (A6) and ADC1_IN12 (B1).In my setup, I need to use the pins A2, A6 and B1 for other GPIO purposes (already used all the other pins). I am having a hard find figuring out whether it is possible to route the OPAMP outputs internally to the corresponding ADC without wasting uC pins. Does anyone know if this is possible? Edit: In the document: AN5310 Guideline for using analog features of STM32G4 Series versus STM32F3 Series devices, table 10 shows the overview of "Internal OPAMP to ADC connection without external pin occupancy". So it must indeed be possible. I must figure out how to set this up in the CubeMX project.

Hello,I'm working with an STM32F407DISC and an LTE modem connected via USART. I want to configure PPP communication using LWIP. Could you explain how to set up PPP in this context(ioc file)?Additionally, is it possible to enable the Ethernet (ETH) interface without using its physical pins, just for PPP over serial?

Is it possible to use an STM32MP257F-EV1 miniPCIe with an external low-speed graphics card? I want to use it to run the PS2 emulator.

HelloI currently run on hardware STM32MP135f-DK and am preparing for running a custom HW.When assigning PA12 as a gpio-key in the devicetree,I get this error on boot:[ 3.544391] genirq: Flags mismatch irq 45. 00000083 (my-input) vs. 00002088 (0-0021)[ 3.551110] gpio-keys gpio-keys: Unable to claim irq 45; error -16[ 3.557446] gpio-keys: probe of gpio-keys failed with error -16The result is that nothing from that gpio-keys-node is initialized (if I run gpioinfo) PA12 is also referenced by ETH2 by default, and all references to eth2 are removed from my devicetree This is how I add the new gpio to the devicetree, basically the same as the default user-pa13, but with 12 instead of 13.gpio-keys {compatible = "gpio-keys";my-input {label = "my-input";linux,code = <BTN_2>;gpios = <&gpioa 12 (GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW | GPIO_PULL_UP)>;};};I cannot find anything else pointing at PA12 in the devicetree.Other pins that I define as gpio-keys work. Does anyone know what is inter

I would like to use TIM2 as a performance counter to evaluate my software changes. Is the TIM2 internal clock 1/4 of the CPU clock on the NUCLEO-G0B1RE board? Net effect, resulting in the TIM2 counter having a resolution of four CPU clock cycles.Thank you.

Hey,I'm planning to use this high-side driver in a project distribution module, but I'm having trouble fully understanding how the current sensing works.I've looked at the schematic, and I see a combination of two resistors, Rprot and Rsense. Is this supposed to act as a voltage/current divider? What is the purpose with these sensors? Also, I assume the CS (current sense) output from the driver is 5V, but in the datasheet, it's directly connected to the MCU without a voltage divider to 3.3V. As far as I know, STM MCUs can't handle 5V inputs. Is it necessary to add a voltage divider before connecting it to the ADC?

Hi everyone,I am a new user of ST microcontroller. I am not familiar with DMA. Currently I am working on to pull the data from the AFE as slave using DMA method using CUBE generate code:HAL_StatusTypeDef HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA(SPI_HandleTypeDef *hspi, uint8_t *pTxData, uint8_t *pRxData,uint16_t Size).I am able to get the correct value. My problem is when I tried to read the data continuously, I will get the error code. Is there anything that I need to care first before pulling another data?example:  state = SingleRegCommVerify(AFE_ConfigStart, &afe_read_buf[0], AFE_READ);//this will call HAL_SPI routineif(state == COMM_DONE) //comm error{stat1 = afe_read_buf[0];}//it will skip this state = SingleRegCommVerify(AFE_CalStart, &afe_read_buf[0], AFE_READ);if(state == COMM_DONE){stat2 = afe_read_buf[0];  //correct value}Thanks for the help.-illa-

According to my searches on the internet, I found at least 3 solutions to add FreeRTOS on top of the code generated with stm32cubeMX for STM32U5 ...1 - Get FreeRTOS from freertos.org or its GIT2 - Get FreeRTOS from the demo available on the B-U585-IOT2A eval board, on which FreeRTOS has been integrated with TrustZone3 - Get FreeRTOS 'classic-coremw-app' for stm32u5 from ST githubWhich way do you think is the easiest way for FreeRTOS implementation ?

Hi,On a small project I am trying to use HAL_I2C_Mem_Read_DMA and AL_I2C_Mem_Write_DMA to get and send data to INA260 and SSD1306 without success.In main i have: MPU_Config(); SCB_EnableICache(); SCB_EnableDCache(); HAL_Init(); SystemClock_Config(); MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_DMA_Init(); MX_I2C1_Init(); if (INA260_Init() == HAL_OK) { printf("INA260 initialized successfully.\n"); } The MPU configuration is: void MPU_Config(void) { MPU_Region_InitTypeDef MPU_InitStruct = {0}; /* Disables the MPU */ HAL_MPU_Disable(); /** Initializes and configures the Region and the memory to be protected */ MPU_InitStruct.Enable = MPU_REGION_ENABLE; MPU_InitStruct.Number = MPU_REGION_NUMBER0; MPU_InitStruct.BaseAddress = 0x38000000; MPU_InitStruct.Size = MPU_REGION_SIZE_4KB; MPU_InitStruct.SubRegionDisable = 0x0; MPU_InitStruct.TypeExtField = MPU_TEX_LEVEL0; MPU_InitStruct.AccessPermission = MPU_REGION_FULL_ACCESS; MPU_InitStruct.DisableExec = MPU_INSTRUCTION_ACCESS_DISABLE; MPU_

Hi, I am trying to run spidev on the stm32mp157f-dk2 using python and I have set my SPI4 max frequency above 40MHz, but I can't seem to run it more than 16MHz. I have checked the clock tree configurations and the device tree configuration; I seem to have set everything correctly but I can't seem to run it faster.

Hello,My original project was created for STM32F030c8t6 and I want to get the list of compatible  MCU, so that I can migrate my project to STM32f103C8T6. I opened the cubeMX table from CubeIDE. While I clicked the list of compatible MCU, the programs hangs at 52% as given in the picture attached.CubeIDE version 1.15.1 on Windows11Please let me know if you need more information

I've interfaced my RFM95 LoRa module with the STM32L476RG Nucleo board, using the I-CUBE-LRWAN library to send uplink messages with dummy data and temperature values. However, I can't locate the .ioc file in the library to configure the pinouts for my external sensors. Could you help me find the .ioc file in this library, and let me know which file to modify to add sensor values and customize the payload?

I have a complex project that has multiple sub-projects inside. One of these projects has an additional .ld file called "STM32L431KCUX_SHARED.ld". This file is a linked resource in other sub-projects and normally it works without an issue, every "STM32L431KCUX_FLASH.ld" of these sub-projects have " INCLUDE STM32L431KCUx_SHARED.ld" manually inserted. The SHARED file is in the same folder as the FLASH file of one of the sub-projects.The problem is, sometimes, when I generate code from IOC project, the ld.exe file refuses to see SHARED file. When I try to compile the project, all I see is:11:33:54 **** Incremental Build of configuration Debug for project RF_QED169MHz ****make -j8 all arm-none-eabi-g++ -o "RF_QED169MHz.elf" @"objects.list" -mcpu=cortex-m4 -T"C:\[REDACTED]\rfqed_169\RF_QED169MHz\STM32L431KCUX_FLASH.ld" --specs=nosys.specs -Wl,-Map="RF_QED169MHz.map" -Wl,--gc-sections -static --specs=nano.specs -mfpu=fpv4-sp-d16 -mfloat-abi=hard -mthumb -Wl,--start-group -lc -lm -lstdc++ -ls

i am using electromagnetic sensor which is 24volts. in that i only have the connections for power voltage(positive) and the signal. when i am trying to power it with my stm32f411re nucleo board i can see that the power isn't sufficient. so can i use a 24volts power supply to that and the negative to the stm32f411re nucleo board ground. so i was thinking the connections would be like, power supply positive to the sensor positive, signal to the stm32 nucleo board. power supply negative to the ground of the stm32 board.  would these connections make sense, or would it fry my board?is there any quick connections to power the sensor with 24volts. quickest answer is much appreciated. thank you in advance.

Hi I attended the "STM32H5: Ultimate combination of performance, integration and affordability" on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. I have not received the material nor the voucher. Any change to get those? Regards,Antti Vähälummukka
