I have designed a pcb that will connect the st25dv16k chip to a tuned trace antenna. Before I solder it, is there anything I need to do to the chip itself, programming or otherwise, in order for the tag to read on a device such as a phone? I haven't tried it yet, just don't want to solder the chip on yet if there are steps I'm missing. Thanks!Christina

I got the latest CMSIS from github and tried using the DSP code on a STM32H743ZI chip. I call three APIs which are:arm_cfft_f32()arm_cmplx_mag_f32()arm_max_f32()The code compiles fine with GCC but when it comes time to link I get a 'undefined reference to arm_bitreversal_32' error which is used in the arm_cfft_f32() call. I've been all over the internet and tried many things, none of which worked. The short list of things I've tried is:Added -lmRenamed arm_bitreversal2.S to arm_bitreversal2.cAdded -x assembler-with-cppAdded -mthumbetc, etc, etc.Has anyone gotten GCC to link CMSIS DSP and run any FFT related code? I assume there are some compiler switches I'm missing, all of the files are there it just won't link. It seems many people all over the internet have had this problem and each 'solution' seems to be hyper tailored to that individual. Not that this should make a difference but I'm developing my code in Visual Studio 17 with the VisualGDB plugin with my project being of type Embe

Hi, I have been trying to have my screen change from my own code. Right now, I tried from another thread to do the following:I have two screens that I currently alternate every 15 seconds. FrontendApplication* App; App = static_cast<FrontendApplication*>(Application::getInstance()); uint8_t Screen = 1; while(1) { osDelay(15000); if(Screen == 0) { App->gotoStatus1ScreenNoTransition(); Screen = 1; } else { App->gotoStatus2ScreenNoTransition(); Screen = 0; } }My program starts with the Status1 screen displayed. When my call to gotoStatus2ScreenNoTransition gets executed, the screen rarely gets refreshed. When it does, it gets refreshed after 10-12 seconds only. Most of the time it does not refresh at all during the 15 seconds delay. I only get a frozen Screen1 (Screen1 has information that scrolls and changes). But as soon as the call to gotoStatus1ScreenNoTransition is executed, the screen is refreshed properly .I know it is a hard to understand without the fu

I use ST25DV to write binary files. I can only write one BLOCK at a time. I think every time I write is Multiple BLLOCK,Each BLOCK has 4 bytes. If I want to write 64 bytes(binary fules）, the boad have to read and write 16 times. If I want to read and write 64 bytes(16 BLOCK) at one time. What should I do?

I have a question in my mind does bootloader which comes with ARM chips has written in assembly code or c/c++ code ? How does the code look like , because i have implemented in application programming bootloader concept in my project where board reads the dfu and bin file from the usb stick which is connected to the board.Where does the bootloader resides in memory ? does it has vector table to start its execution ? does bootloader program itself makes decision to read BOOT0 and BOOT1 pins ?

Hello,I'm currently working on a STM32F411 MCU project which includes a BlueNRG-MS module and a bootloader for reprograming OTA purpose. The bootloader is at address 0x08000000.I would like to program, by the MCU application (not the bootloader) into the flash, a binary file sent over the air at an address determined by the MCU app.But it looks like the binary file can't be programmed anywhere into the flash but only at the address specified by the linker. For exemple, if I program a binary file with the ST Link at address 0x0800C000 with the following memory areas in the linker, the bootloader jumps to this new app and it works :MEMORY{RAM (xrw)   : ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 128KFLASH (rx)   : ORIGIN = 0x800C000, LENGTH = 512K - 48k}But if I change the FLASH origin to address 0x08000000 but still program it at address 0x0800C000, the bootloader doesn't jump to this new application.I thought binary file didn't have any metadata and could be programed an

Hello,I'm trying to integrate latest crypto lib (v. 3.1.2, FW implementation) into my TrueSTUDIO project but encryption with AES-CBC-128 fails.Example project in Fw_Crypto\STM32L0\Projects\STM32L053R8-Nucleo\AES\AES192_CBC fails both encryption and decryption phases.Digging into the issue I reduced key size to 128bits and set Key, IV and Plaintext as all 0's (16B long): encryption works correctly (according to various online AES calculators).Changing a single bit in Plaintext will break encryption: it looks like some data are ignored and some other are read multiple times (always comparing result with online calculators). If I split the 16B of plaintext into 4 groups (4B each - let's call them p1 p2 p3 p4), library behaves as if plaintext was p2 p1 p1 p1: changing bits in p3 and p4 does not change ciphertext (!).What am I missing?Alessandro

Hello all.I use ST25R3911B-DISCO and dynamic tag ST25dv04kWhen reading data from FIFO come bytes with a redundant cipher.Suppose the code is presented as custom manchester code:10 - 0, (two bits in recived bytes - bit result)01 - 1,00 - 0,11 - 1.After that, you need to perform a cyclic shift to the right by 3.It all works with the exception of some bytes. For example: in fact (in tag buffer) - 0xAA. Recived 0x3333, after decryption - 0xAA. All okBut it happens: in fact - 0xCC. Recived 0xb3b4, after decryption - 0xCA.Where can I read more about this cipher?Or what am I doing wrong?

Hello everybody!I've been watching/reading this forum for a while now, trying to enlighten myself, but without success. So, this is my first question... While not being new to electronics, microcontrollers and programming, I am new to ARM. I've spent the last (more than) two weeks reading hundreds of pages (reference&technical manuals, etc.), forums, blogs, tutorials, you name it! At the end of all this, I thought I understood something... but it looks like the more I read, the more overwhelmed and confused I am... Anyways, I tried to apply my new and hard gained knowledge by writing some simple programs. But how?! The some chaotic (to me) mountain of information about these micros, reigns in the software domain too. There is a myriad of IDEs and command line tools to choose from, then HAL/LL/Standard Library, etc. I've tried quite a few of them (Keil uVision, Eclipse, Cube[F1|MX]) without great reasonable results. What I am trying to achieve is some intimate knowledge of the perip

Posted on September 13, 2017 at 10:07Beginner working with STM32L452:I have enabled interrupts for some GPIO pins through CubeMx.CubeMX generates this function, and it gets called as expected on GPIO interrupt:void EXTI15_10_IRQHandler(void)How do I distinguish between which pin or line was triggering the interrupt?I have found some examples using EXTI_GetITStatus and EXTI_ClearITPendingBit, but I don't have these functions defined in any header. Should CubeMx provide these in a header and how do I make CubeMX do this?Where do I find documentation for EXTI_GetITStatus and EXTI_ClearITPendingBit or whatever functions I should use instead?#interrupts #exti_getitstatus #gpio #exti15_10_irqn

Posted on December 08, 2016 at 16:07Hello community!I am facing constant problems with running examples for my stm32f4 discovery using atollic Truestudio. The problems are mostly that after importing, the project is missing paths to some resources. Typically hal drivers and so on.My question is, how properly import example to my Truestudio? I have tried multiple approaches so far.1) Just import porject using atollics 'import...' button letting the whole example repository at my doccuments (outside atollics workspace). This fails 'fatal error: stm32f4xx_hal_rcc.h No such file or directory'2) Copy whole examples repository into my atolics workspace and import the example. Just the same result.3) I have tried modify approach 2 - i open project properties, go to C/C++ General->Paths and Symbols->Includes. Here i can see that the path to directory with drivers is already there  ../../../../../../../Drivers/CMSIS/Device/ST/STM32F4xx/Include I have tried add absolute path to

Posted on August 04, 2017 at 08:19Hi,I'm working on my custom hardware based on STM32F303VBI'm trying to make a CAN based boot loader. I can jump from boot loader to application but the application just hangs some where. How can I debug boot loader + application using AC6 System Work bench? Is it even possible to debug 2 projects together?Or is there a special method to debug?Any inputs will be of help. Thanks & regards, Pj#stm32f303 #stm32f303vb #bootloader

As STM32CubeMX 4.25.1 is not compatible with <X-CUBE-SPN14> Stepper motor driver software expansion for STM32Cube package, i tried to include manualy the Driver to my project. Then, i copy the <BSP> repertory from <en.x-cube-spn14\...\Drivers> to my project Drivers repertory and include it to my Keil's project. i also configurated the Bord pins and Timer (2 and 3) like described in user manual <UM2300> pages (8, 12, 13). when I compile the project, I have no Warning or Error. I am using a bipolar step Motor with a step angle of 1,8 degree.when i run the program, the step motor run Forward for 2 run an then Backward for 2 Run and Blocks by runing indefinitely in an <HAL_Delay() > function.by debugging, i found that the problem occurs on instruction <BSP_MotorControl_SetStopMode(0, HIZ_MODE); at line 306 of main.c file> when a change parameter "HIZ_MODE" to "STANDBY_MODE " the program still occurs. but if i change "HIZ_MODE" to "HOLD_MODE" the Program

I have an FreeRTOS example running on STM32F429I-DISCOVERY/NUCLEO-F429ZI, which has the STM32F429ZITx MCU inside. But I wish to port this to a new MCU (STM32F429VITx). How do I do it?The main difference between the two MCUs is:ZITx version has more IOs (LQFP144). VITx is LQFT100I understand the HAL libraries will be the same (won't they?). Just the pin configs will change. Am I right?

Is the cdc standalone example for asynchronous uart mode or synchronous mode?

Hi, I'm using STM32F746ZG Nucleo board, Atollic Truestudio and STM32CubeMX for generate source code. I'm trying for a couple of days to configure Update Event of TIM6 to trigger ADC3 .There isn't problem with TIM1 triggering ADC3 (Edit Line 104: hadc3.Init.ExternalTrigConv = ADC_EXTERNALTRIGCONV_T1_TRGO;) but if triggering from any APB1 timer (TIM2, TIM4, TIM6...).Here's my main code (I've deleted irrelevant source).I would appreciate it if someone could help or guide me, thank you.int main(void) {   /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */ HAL_Init();   /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config();   /* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_ADC3_Init(); MX_TIM1_Init(); MX_TIM6_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */ HAL_TIM_Base_Start(&htim1); HAL_TIM_Base_Start(&htim6); // HAL_ADC_Start(&hadc3); HAL_ADC_Start_IT(&hadc3); /* USER CODE END 2 */   /* Infinite loop */ while

Hello,I am testing the processing time of a STM32L476 chip on a Nucleo board. Here below is the code:uint8_t algo_principal(s16 xin, s16 yin, s16 zin) { uint8_t retour; uint32_t i; uint32_t test;   test = (uint32_t )xin + (uint32_t )yin + (uint32_t )zin; TESTA11_ON; for (i=0; i < 25000; i++) { test *= test; } TESTA11_OFF; if (test < 85695) retour = 0; else retour = 1; return (retour); }This code is called every 20ms (external accelerometer interuption) and the microcontroler is in stop mode 2 when not busy => Function EnterStop2Mode() from the LL exemple. To configure the clock, I use CubeMx to be sure not to badly configure the device.I measure the time between TESTA11_OFF-TESTA11_ON.For the 8MHz configuration:CubeMx sets : LL_FLASH_SetLatency(LL_FLASH_LATENCY_0); The processing time is 6.28msI change the configuration to 16MHz by CubeMx:CubeMx sets : LL_FLASH_SetLatency(LL_FLASH_LATENCY_0);The processing time is always 6.28ms.Even if I chang

Hi, guys. I'm using the STM32L4 discovery (MB1184C) board to test DAC (Pin PA5).I use Keil uVision 5 to debug the code.I noticed the Timer trigger option and I want to use this.I want to put this MCU to sleep at the main function's while loop.Periodically, like every 20 microseconds, I want to wake the MCU via a timer and change the DAC value. So the questions are; What's the difference between "Connect to external pin / on chip-peripheral options"Is that timer trigger the feature I was looking for - change the DAC value periodically?Or do I have to use a timer interrupt (Slave mode disabled, Clock source internal, set prescaler, etc) to change the DAC?I wish to see an example code, please. Thanks for the help!

Hi,i am a newby with STM32what is the difference between the three functions:HAL_UART_Transmit_IT,HAL_UART_Transmit_DMA,HAL_UART_Transmit

Hello,I try to setup ADC1 and ADC2, but I don't get the timing values given in reference manual and data sheet. I work with STM32H743 NucleoI have setup RCC to clk ADC with 36 MHz from PLL2P. I checked the frequency at master clock out 2 on PC9. To initialize ADC1 and 2 I use this code:volatile uint32_t wait_cnt; // ADC init: for ADC1 and ADC2 // reset ADC1 and ADC2: SetBitMask (RCC->AHB1RSTR, RCC_AHB1RSTR_ADC12RST); ClearBitMask (RCC->AHB1RSTR, RCC_AHB1RSTR_ADC12RST); // enable ADC clk SetBitMask (RCC->AHB1ENR, RCC_AHB1ENR_ADC12EN); __DSB (); // needs to be here according to errata, to wait till periph clk is enabled   ClearBitMask (ADC1->CR, ADC_CR_DEEPPWD); ClearBitMask (ADC2->CR, ADC_CR_DEEPPWD); SetBitMask (ADC1->CR, ADC_CR_ADVREGEN); SetBitMask (ADC2->CR, ADC_CR_ADVREGEN);     SetPortBit (port_Testpins, pin_ADC_test); for (wait_cnt = 0; wait_cnt < 500; wait_cnt++) { // wait for ADC voltage regulator to stabilize, this loop is c

Is it possible to create any kind of hack to run multiple displays on one MCU with ToughGFX?I'm looking for a way to have one display be drawn normally, but with two smaller displays at very low frame-rates (no higher than 1Hz).

Good day. Faced such a situation. I want to get at the output of the DAC zero level (writing to the register is trivially 0). That's just absolute zero does not work, on the output of the microcontroller there is somewhere around 70mV. The influence of the external circuit can be excluded, since it is checked with the output physically disconnected from the rest of the circuit.Has anyone come across this? Or to paraphrase a question, did anyone get a complete zero on the DAC?Stm32l151, so the DAC is configured and working properly, performs its function (except for zero). Clocking DAC and port A is present, just did not copy here ....//---------DAC------------- GPIO_InitStructure.GPIO_Mode = GPIO_Mode_AN; GPIO_InitStructure.GPIO_PuPd = GPIO_PuPd_NOPULL; GPIO_InitStructure.GPIO_Pin = DAC0_Pin; GPIO_Init(DAC0_Port, &GPIO_InitStructure);    DAC_InitStructure.DAC_Trigger = DAC_Trigger_None; DAC_InitStructure.DAC_WaveGeneration = DAC_WaveGeneration_None; DAC_InitStructure

Hello all,I am trying to understand how to configure the  ST25R3911B to comply with the ISO15693.In particular I do not understand how to set the Low/High Bitrate. Looking at the datasheet of the ST25R3911B the Bit Rate Definition Register lowest achievable value is fc/128 while the ISO 15693 goes fc/2048!I cannot find much of information how to setup the ISO15693 on the datasheet. Is there some other reference, or instructions on how to do so?Thank you!Update:Checked the other questions...https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X00009XkWIeSAN/iso-15693-sof-eof-for-st25r3911bhttps://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X00009XkWIfSAN/register-settings-for-st25r3911b-for-iso-15693But it seems that ISO15693 is not inherently supported... So I wonder if it should be mentioned in the specs as it is more like a custom protocol implementation with coding/decoding performed in the external logic and not within the ST25 device among all.
