Hello,Wondering if anyone out there is knowledgeable in the ST-LINK V3 Bridge API? I'm working on a personal project developing a GUI application that uses the API to provide something like a Bus Pirate type development tool. If you want to look at bad C/C++ code the project is on GitHub. I've gotten the GPIO portion to work and am working on I2C. My specific question is this:The I2C read/write methods take a parameter for returning the actual number of bytes written on the bus. Here's one of the methods signature:Brg_StatusT WriteI2C(const uint8_t *pBuffer, uint16_t Addr, uint16_t SizeInBytes, uint16_t *pSizeWritten);pSizeWritten is the parameter in question. It seems to always return zero even though the BrgStatusT return value is BRG_NO_ERR. I've looked at the bus on the scope and can see bytes written/read and they appear correct. So is this a misuse/misunderstanding of the API on my part or a bug in the bridge sources or a bug in the DLL or cosmic interference??EDIT: Forgot any kin

I am trying to setup the RDP programmatically on the STM32H7. I am running the code below. All functions return HAL_OK except HAL_FLASH_OB_Launch() which returns HAL_ERROR and its unclear to me why. Any ideas on how to debug this will be helpful as well.int main(void) { /* MCU Configuration */   /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */ HAL_Init();   /* USER CODE BEGIN Init */ MX_RTC_Init();   int err = 0;   if ( HAL_FLASH_Unlock() != HAL_OK ) { err = 1 } if ( HAL_FLASH_OB_Unlock() != HAL_OK ) { err = 1} FLASH_OBProgramInitTypeDef ob_struct = {0}; // RDP on Flash bank 2 ob_struct.Banks = FLASH_BANK_2; ob_struct.OptionType = OPTIONBYTE_RDP; ob_struct.RDPLevel = OB_RDP_LEVEL_1; // Program options bytes HAL_FLASHEx_OBProgram(&ob_struct); if ( HAL_FLASH_OB_Launch() != HAL_OK) { err = 1 } // Lock memory HAL_FLASH_OB_Lock(); HAL_FLASH_Lock(); /* USER CODE END Init */

Hi,I am working on STM32G0 Nucleo Board with STM32 Cube IDE 1.3.0How to configure STM32G071R8 64-Pin LQFP Packageas Input or Output or Interrupt with STM32 Cube IDE 1.3.0 . ?Is there any special setting ? Which I am missing ?--Karan

I'm trying to operate the USART in DMA tx mode on the STM32G0. I've configured the DMA mux to route the USART1TX dma request to channel 2. I have configured channel 2 to enable TC and TE interrupts, enabled MINC, and set PSIZE & MSIZE as byte. The number of data to transfer is set correctly as well as the MAR and PAR. Obvious things like RCC and GPIO configuration have been checked. The UART registers are configured as expected as well. However, the DMA number of data to transfer never decrements, despite TXE being high. This makes me think that the dma request is not making it to the correct channel, however I am certain the DMAMUX is configured correctly. Is there something I am missing? My understanding is the DMA transfer should trigger automatically once all the above is configured, so long as the TDR is empty (TXE is high).

In my code, I write many casting from char* to uint64_t*. Someone success, and someone get failure. I thought I used the unallocated memory, but I rewrote by casting to uint32_t, and then no error happened. Is this normal? My code:-------------------------------------- uint32_t sz_t, sz_h; sz_t = ((uint32_t*)bptr)[0]; bptr += sizeof(sz_t); sz_h = ((uint32_t*)bptr)[0]; bptr += sizeof(sz_h);-------------------------------------

Hello all,I recently purchased the STM32F469i Discovery Board, and have loaded the compiled demo binary from the ST website onto the board. It loads properly, but now I want to see how the software works. Is there any source code for the demo firmware? If so, where can I find it?Thank You,Tom

Hi, I am using X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 and NXP NTAG213 Mifare Ultralight. I chose this kind of TAG because they can be protected by password. I downloaded all files like user manual, etc... about NFC03A1 but I couldn't find any informtion about password writing and reading a tag using a password so I suspect that maybe this shield is not totally compatible with NTAG213.... Also, I used the bin file "STM32F401RE_NUCLEO_PollingTagDetectNdef" but alwasy I get this response from serial: 1. Tap a tag to read its contentISO14443A/NFC-A card found. UID: 044153A26F5E81NDEF NOT DETECTED (ndefPollerNdefDetect returns 5)Operation completedTag can be removed from the fieldbut my tag should support NDEF.p.s. I am using a NUCLEO-F401RE board

Hi,I'm a french embedded developer. At my office, i use a Nucleo-STM32F767ITX and my software works fine. Now, we have a new STM32F767GTx custom board, and my software must works on it.I use a STLINK V3 with SWD interfaces (SWDIO on PA13 and SWDCLCK on PA14), i never use it before. And i discover some issues.During debug, i can program the new board, run it and blinks a LED. It's just the beginning of my software.A few minutes after, I start seeing "Target is not responding, retrying..." message and finally an error message about not being able to read the target. When I try to reprogram the device either through the debugger, it fails saying "No device found on target."USART1 doesn't work too, i change putchar so printf can send some text to serial port. With the Nucleo board, it works with USART3.Can i have some helps ?Thanks a lot.

I want to know the ADC performance of STM32F103.I am not sure which datasheet to check.I know it is single ended in SAR ADC....I'd really appreciate it if you let me know.

I want to use DMA to move data from memory to DAC1 channel 1 and channel 2. Channel 1 uses DMA Channel 5 and that works. CubeMX configured DAC1 Channel 2 for DMA1 Channel 6. The datasheet says STM32G431 is a category 2 device which has only channel 0 to 5 for DMA1 and DMA2. So what is the correct channel to use for DAC1 Channel 2?

Hello,I'm working with a STM32F7 MCU, Using Keil uVision.I'm developing a cutom bootloader and I have to shift another firmware in memory for it to launch.Firmware developed by another team that uses interrupts.I successfully launched simple led toggling programs to verify that the bootloader works fine. The firmware I'm having an issue gives me the following behavior:I have my target with the bootloader already in place.I start the debugger with the firmware write shifted to the correct position. The debugger launches, executes the bootloader and jumps to the firmware. The first call in the main function is HAL_Init() which then calls HAL_InitTick().At the end of the HAL_InitTick() [stm32f7xx_hal_timebase_TIM.c] there is a call to HAL_TIME_Base_Start() that if I step other makes the program crash. The debugger that should have stopped for the step keeps running. After I stop it the ProgramCounter points back to bootloader address zone.I'm at a loss for what to look for.

Hi,we were facing trouble booting the Ecosystem 2.0 with the new U-Boot (v2020.01-stm32mp-r1). We are using buildroot as the tool to build our distribution. With the Ecosystem 1.2 we could build everything perfectly and the booting was fine too. We used your Github to get the sources for the trusted boot chain (TF-A, OP-TEE, U-Boot, Kernel).Recently we migrated to the new Ecosystem 2.0. When using the sources from your github directly we encountered two problems:The Kernel wasn't able to load. The problem was a wrong .config file. We used your release from the wiki (the archive file with the patches) to reconstruct the .config file from that. With this new .config file it worked, the kernel got loaded. Just want to point out, that using the 'default' .config file from your github didn't work for us in case it is meant to work straight away. The other problem we were facing is that the U-Boot did write the environment variables to the MMC (we have a DK2 board so in that case to the SD ca

I designed an amplifier to increase power up to 5 w at the output to achieve larger reading distance, however once it operates at its full power i get no readings and when i reduce the output power to 200-400 mW i get readings however the performance is limited. The output power is adjusted by changing VDD voltage to power amplifier. Please help, how to work it out?

Hi,I'm developing a new project that will use a GSM module. On the PC, this presents as three (3) Endpoints e.g. COM5, COM6 & COM7. I need to communicate with the GSM module on at least two of the three endpoints using the AT command protocol. Will a STM32 talk to three endpoints?I started with a STM32L476RG but ran out of peripherals etc, so have moved to a STM32F767V for further expansion. My idea was to have a SD card on the STM32 that the PC could connect to via the USB_Device & Mass Storage Class but I guess this would be a problem now. Combination USB_Host and USB_Device doesn't work.I could have a 2nd STM32 that talks to the GSM module via the USB and then talks to the above STM32F767 via SPI?? This way I keep the SD to PC USB interface operating.Thoughts? Thanks, Neil.

Hi,I want to use an ADC with DMA in a STM32F103. I configured it in Cube as you can see in the following picures. When I start the conversion with HAL_ADC_Start_DMA(&hadc1,(uint32_t*)AdcData,5);HAL_ADC_ConvCpltCallback() is called and I see that the AdcData values all changed.Unfortunately the first rank is sampled twice and the last rank is lost.I tried to extend the DMA length to 6 but then I do not receive the callback.I tried to extend the DMA length to 4 but then the last AdcData is unchanged.Has anybody an idea why this happens and how I can get rid of this?

Hi,I'm trying to port SBSFU example (L476 Nucleo) to L475 MCU for a custom board. My user app works fine without the SBSFU but when I combine them the clock breaks and HAL_Delay gets stuck. The UserApp of the example project however works fine. I have tried the following:Compared the clock settings in both of them (in stm32l4xx_hal_conf.h) and all the settings are the same (the SysTickPriority in the example is 0x0F which I changed to 0x0 to be like mine and it works fine). All the arguments and parameters of SysTick_Config() is the same for both cases however in the provided example I cannot watch the SysTick in eclipse expressions, it says "No symbol "SysTick" in current context."Increased all NVIC priorities so to higher than 1 and the systick to 1 and it did not make any difference. In the hal_conf.h of the example all the peripheral callback registers are set to zero using defines such as `#define USE_HAL_ADC_REGISTER_CALLBACKS 0U`. My code doesn't have anything like that but since

Hello,On a custom board (similar to F746-Disco board) i was able to setup a 5' display with 800*480 resolution on RGB565.Now, i would like to support bigger display with same board. As i checked, there are many 7+ inches displays with RGB interface. Is there any limitation on the maximum resolution? As i read, with F7 i can reach up to 1024*768 resolution. This number is related with the maximum frame rate or i could go to higher resolutions by reducing the frame rate?

Where can i find the serial port communication protocol specification, so i can control a motor over the uart, without using ST Motor control workbench?

Hello,I'm using TIM2 on STM32H743 (Nucleo, rev Y, Keil 5.31).Just before setting the bit TIM_CR1_EN the setting of the timer is the following:DIER : bit UIE setPSC: expected value (0x4E1F)ARR expected value (0x4E20). it is almost the same as PSC but normalall other registers are 0, including CNTTIM2 interrupt is enabled. No pending interrupt at this time. As you can see it is a pretty simple setup. When I set the bit CEN , I get the first TIM2 interrupt way too quickly (the timer is supposed to trig an update event every 2s). At this first interrupt the status register is 0x0000001F (bit UIF set + bits CCxIF).The next interrupts are happening at the correct frequency, around 2s. I've checked the timer duration using CYCCNT register (and after having set the timer freeze functionality during break). Except for the first interrupt, I indeed measure 800M cycles with CYCCNT (cpu @ 400MHz).But the first interrupt happens around 40 k cycles after the set of CEN bit.Any idea ?

I am trying to understand how to setup the microcontroller (STM32F030 in this case) to use external oscillator. I am using blinking LED as a test to see if the code is running. To setup the HSE I did following:selected Crystal/Ceramic Resonator in High Speed Clock under RCCunder TIM1 set Internal clock as a Clock Sourceunder clock configuration tab selected HSE under PLL source mux and System clock muxWhen I run the microcontroller it runs even if I disconnect the external oscillator. I am not sure if the microcontroller goes to internal RC when there is no external oscillator or I need to do some additional work?

Strange behavior of STM32H743. It continuously reset every few seconds.I check reset reason with this part of code after system startup:if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_IWDG1RST)) { _PRINTF("RESET_CAUSE_INDEPENDENT_WATCHDOG_RESET\n"); } else if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_SFTRST)) { _PRINTF("RESET_CAUSE_SOFTWARE_RESET\n"); } else if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_PORRST)) { _PRINTF("RESET_CAUSE_POWER_ON_POWER_DOWN_RESET\n"); } else if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_PINRST)) { _PRINTF("RESET_CAUSE_EXTERNAL_RESET_PIN_RESET\n"); } else if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_BORRST)) { _PRINTF("RESET_CAUSE_BROWNOUT_RESET\n"); } else { _PRINTF("RESET_CAUSE_UNKNOWN\n"); }After first power up it prints: "RESET_CAUSE_POWER_ON_POWER_DOWN_RESET", and then "RESET_CAUSE_INDEPENDENT_WATCHDOG_RESET" every few seconds.I commented IWDG initialization, but it didn`t help. When I download this code to the similar device, all work good.Maybe MCU IWDG hardware part is broken?

Just installed SMT32CubeMX and wanted to install CMSIS but it fails..... Screen shot shows errors.... anyone else having issues ?

Hardware: STM32MP157C-DK2, VL6180 breakout from SparkfunSoftware: CubeMX IDE (1.3.0), buildroot (following the guide from Bootlin here)I'm trying to use the M4 core to communicate with an I2C sensor. I successfully talked with the sensor on the Linux side so I'm confident the wiring and hardware is good.I edited the DTS to enable the m4_i2c5 per the example provided by ST. &m4_i2c5 { pinctrl-names = "rproc_default"; pinctrl-0 = <&i2c5_pins_a>; status = "okay"; };I've also tried many variations of the following, with and without pinctrl statements:&i2c5 { status = "disabled"; };   &m4_i2c5 { status = "okay"; };From CubeMX IDE:Main initialization and while(1):/* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_I2C5_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */ gpio_init_structure.Pin = GPIO_PIN_7 ; gpio_init_structure.Mode = GPIO_MODE_OUTPUT_PP; gpio_init_structure.Pull = GPIO_PULLUP; gpio_init_structure.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_VERY_HIGH; HAL_GPIO_Ini

I am using STM32L4R9 Evaluation board for my development. When we generate a Demo Project from the TouchGFX Designer, how do we check that how many Frame buffers are used by default and how to check whether we are using any External RAM to store the Frame Buffer.Regards,Bala
