Solved

Hello,I'm working on a driver for a proprietary device that should interface with an STPM32 power meter via UART. I'm at the point of writing some routine to access STPM32 registers without the need of manually compose the UART frames. However, I keep receiving garbage when I read register. I try to describe it below, but to make the long story short, the problem is that only the dummy read command properly works, when I try to read registers at specific position it mess up (I receive bad frames). So, this is the test procedure:After the initialization of GPIO and UART, I generate the pulses to properly reset the STPM32, then I do a trasfer to get the register at row 0 (address 0), moreover since I use the dummy read command on the next trasfer I'll get the register at row 1 (address 2)MCU TX->STPM RX: (0x) FF FF FF FF 7B MCU RX<-STPM TX: (0x) A0 00 00 04 75then I receive the correct value with the correct CRC.By doing another transfer I obtain the register at row 1 (address 2)MCU

Hi all, how are you?. I'm doing a program where I need to send several separated messages over the serial port using the UART 1 of a STM32F401VE after receiven a specific message through the serial port too, right now I'm capable of send the first rsponse message without problem using HAL_UART_Transmit_IT(...), the problem that I have here is that I need to wait for a complete transfer before sending the new one but as the IT function is not blocking (this is one of many things the code will do) then I used the function HAL_UART_GetState() to check if the transfer was completed, the GetState function didn't work because the Transmit_IT() function establish the state as HAL_OK just after finish the configuration of the port and the related interrupt. After that I looked into the examples included at the HAL library for the STM32F4 discovery and the developers used the following definitionUART_HandleTypeDef UartHandle; __IO ITStatus UartReady = RESET;then they send the message by using if

I am trying to setup USB communication with an STM32F446REIt is a custom board where:The clock source is an external 8Mhz quartzThere is a micro USB port with USB+ connected to PA12 and USB- connected to PA11The external quartz is working (I can load a firmware that just blinks a led) but I fail to enumerate the USB device with below message in the computer syslog.I am using mbed with the NUCLEO F446RE configuration, I just enabled USB in the target configuration (USE_USB_OTG_FS type)Also, I noted that if I plug the board even without a firmware that is supposed to use USB, my computer tries to enumerate the device, however it shows a different message (like it's trying to enumerate a low-speed device instead of high-speed)Do you have any idea/clue what could be going wrong?Oct 23 19:13:51 destiny kernel: [4213209.733361] usb 1-10: new full-speed USB device number 17 using xhci_hcd Oct 23 19:13:51 destiny kernel: [4213209.861500] usb 1-10: device descriptor read/64, error -71 Oct 23 19

I have a board that is STM32H747I-DISCO which was bricked due to the power supply settings improperly set (Set to LDO when it shouldve been SMPS) in the code. The documentation say to boot with BOOT0 pin set in order to restore the working image, I do not see where BOOT0 pin is populated on this board, I cannot find R192 on the board either. Is it underneath the LCD screen? A graphical location of where to put the wire to enable BOOT0 pin would be appreciated.

Hello - I have been working with the l051 for 2+ years now on a product, using i2c-1 as slave to outside world and i2c-2 as master for local board downstream devices. while my interrupt-driven code "works," I continue to have bugs filed about both master & slave communications stopping. I am using STM_HAL for the l051, and I think I just need to start over with a clean example of both cases, interrupt driven. Please point me to where I can find code examples and/or HOW-TO documentation for this.thanks!-pete u.

I want to use STM32F413 for my PCB design. I need USB data lines for communicating with a computer. Ideally, I would not have any oscillator on the PCB to save space. I noticed that's it's not possible to use HSI for the USB clock on CubeMX. Can I use pin PA8 as MCO to output HSI and route it to PH0 ? This way HSI and HSE are connected though the PCB. On CubeMX it seems possible, however, I don't know if it can work in reality. Are there some consideration hat I need to take to ensure this will work? Here are some screenshots of the CubeMX configuration and PCB schematic. Thanks

I need to configure STM32G473 ADC in 16-bit mode, Currently i configured it in 12 - bit mode it works fine but as per my application i need 16-bit resolution. As datasheet indicates it is possible to configure 16-bit mode by oversampling, but is there any example to implement 16-bit mode from HAL layer? or any suggestions?

Hello Community. STM32F030R8T6 seems to be unavailable. This is a huge problem. Does it exist a pin to pin an alternative (also on other families (STM32F1, F2, f3...).STM32F030RC is NOT a solution since it appears not to be available too. In any case, I would have the possibility to use this component. On my PCB pins 18,19,47,48 are not connected. Does STM32F030RC works if I don't connect VDD and VSS on these pins?Thank you.

Hi,I am trying to create some first GUI application for STM32F429I-DISCOVERY just to learn TouchGFX. Unfortunately, when I start GenerateCode in TouchGFX Designer following error appears:Generate Code  Generate    Done  Generate Assets    make -f simulator/gcc/Makefile assets -j8    Reading ./application.config    Done  Post Generate    touchgfx update_project --project-file=simulator/msvs/Application.vcxproj    Done  Post Generate Target    touchgfx update_project --project-file=../test1.ioc --platform=m4    unsupported toolchain: TrueSTUDIO    ProjectManager.ToolChainLocation    Failed  FailedKind regards,Piotr

I want to control servo movement with potentiometer. I'm using ADC and getting the pot value. But i don't know how to control the pwm with this value. What should i use? Thanks in advance.

On MCSDK_v5.4.3 Why is this, and is it still possible to generate suitable code?

Hello,I am trying to use FATFS file system from CubeMX. It ask me character encoding. There are some options "UTF-8", "UTF-16-LE" and "UTF-16-BE". I want to set it compatible with touchgfx unicode class. My question is which one is the touchgfx unicode class? UTF-16LE or UTF16BE?

I'm using the LIS2DH at a 10 Hz sample rate and need to change it to 400 Hz. How will this change power consumption of the device?

We have a ST25 project running and able to read tags from 8cm distance. However, we would like to reduce this distance. Our idea is to reconfigure only "Receiver configuration register 3". Is this the best way ? Should I change "Receiver configuration register 4" as well ?Thanks in advance.

Hi! My name is Vincenzo,I would like to know how to include the driver for VL53L1 inside an application for F401RE.Up to now I have used the X-CUBE-53L1A2 which helped me to easily implement the driver using the structure of this software as a reference, but now, I would like to learn to include the API for VL53L1 starting from the bare driver.I place this problem in the community, because until now, my attempts have ended in an error message concerning the windows.h headerI also encountered this error when trying to include the driver for VL53L3CX, and also in this case i used the X-CUBE software for VL53L3CX.Moreover, in the community also I run into something similar to my problem:https://community.st.com/s/global-search/Where%20to%20locate%20missing%20header%20files%20for%20VL53L0X%20API%3FHow can I fix this windows.h file issue?NOTE: i'm using STM32CubeIDE or SW4STM32Thanks in advance for your support!Vincenzo

Hello,Hello,I'm currently developing an application on a STM32H753VT6 with touchGFX and I have an issue with the function resizeToCurrentTextWithAlignment(). Indeed when i'm changing the current text (I use a Wildcard) with another text smaller there is no problem. But when I'm changing this text again (same value) and an invalidate the textArea, the old text appears on my screen (R and E of the last word displayed "Residence") : Any idea of why there are these kind of glitches ? Here is my code :// first I update the wildcard buffer Unicode::strncpy(textArea_residenceBuffer, s_current_command_splitted.c_first_line_a, MAX_NB_CHARS); // then i resize the text area textArea_residence.resizeToCurrentTextWithAlignment(); // finally I invalidate the area textArea_residence.invalidate()Thanks,Best regards,AJT

Hi everyone! The TouchGFX environment seems to be a powerful UI SW but I was wondering if it is possible to display values stored in a text (or other extention) file which is updated by Wi-Fi for example and stored into the memory. This so called data base is intended to grow so it has no fixed size. My question is: is it possible with TouchGFX to use a data base without recompiling the UI when the data base has been updated? Thank you in advance for your answer!Have a nice day

Hello. I have VL53L1X working in window mode with GPIO polarity active low:Window mode = 3 (within the distance range (min/max)).Min = 50mmMax = 200 mm It is working well. If my hand is: Within window: GPIO interrupt goes up and downBelow or beyond window: GPIO is high all the timeThe problem comes when there is nothing in front of the sensor and range status is 4 (phase fail). In this cases, GPIO interrupt still works, causing my code to malfunction. Why does GPIO works if distance is outside window thresholds and range status is different from 0?

Is it possible to use new font size, new font style through code instead of adding in TouchGFX GUI? How to do that??

Hello,PLEASE GIVE SOME HELP.We made some boards based on MP157AAA and it ran good at first.BUT it can not boot anymore after someone turn off and on the power. No information comes from UART4 after turn on power switch.I change the boot-switch to '000' and use "cube programmmer " to update boot.some information comes out form uart4 but "cube programmmer " show error.SO,please tell me how to update boot-part or our hardware has been damaged Permanently. Thanks a lot.SIMON.

Hi Team  I am plannimng to connect the arduino and and STM32H7B3I-DK (MB1332B)I see that in the document USART4_TX PH13 D1 and USART3_RX PB11 D0I am getting confused how RX is on USART 3 and TX is on USART 4.https://www.st.com/resource/en/user_manual/dm00610478-discovery-kit-with-stm32h7b3li-mcu-stmicroelectronics.pdfsome thing which i am not able to get it right in the documentI have attached the images that shows the that UART TX4 and UART RX4 has the pin PH13 and PH14.https://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/layouts_and_diagrams/schematic_pack/group1/e0/e5/29/92/9d/37/47/91/MB1332-H7B3I-B02_Schematic/files/MB1332-H7B3I-B02_Schematic.PDF/jcr:content/translations/en.MB1332-H7B3I-B02_Schematic.PDFBut when i tried to enable the code in the STM32IDE i see that the pins being used as PB8 and PB9 for UART4so how can i configure the UART pin in the code so i can use uart4 and receive the dataI have attached the images for references can anyone please h

Hello, We are using LPS22HH in SPI mode in our project. It seems that tying nCS =0 (not toggling it) disables SPI communication altogether. Is this observation correct?Does the nCS signal need to be toggled (asserted-deasserted) in order to trigger some internal state machine that enables communication? Thanks

Hi Guys, in the reference sheet of the STM32H753ZI Pg. 2212 it says "FWS is the audio samplingfrequency."There's a programing example provided at Pg. 2232 that says Sampling Freq = 48kHz.I tried this exact configuration, the MCLK, FWS, and SCLK are all correct, however when I see the sampling frequency its double of the FW? The green signal is the On and Off when the DMA triggers. Sample buffer is length of 4so it will trigger at 2 and 4. High is Complete and Low is Half CompleteYellow signal is the FWS CODE: MAIN()uint16_t RxBuff[4]; uint16_t TxBuff[4]; uint8_t TC_Callback = 0; uint8_t HC_Callback = 0; char uartBuff[8]; void DMA1_Stream0_IRQHandler(void) { if (((DMA1 -> LISR) & (DMA_LISR_TCIF0)) != 0){ DMA1 -> LIFCR |= DMA_LIFCR_CTCIF0; TC_Callback = 1; } else if (((DMA1 -> LISR) & (DMA_LISR_HTIF0)) != 0){ DMA1 -> LIFCR |= DMA_LIFCR_CHTIF0; HC_Callback = 1; }   }   int main(void) { init_Clock(); init_I2S(); init_Debugging(); init_In

I currently have the LSM6DS3 setup for FTH of 0xFFF, no decimation, 1.66kHz, continuous mode with FTH interrupt on interrupt 1. It seems like it is working ok - I see the FTH interrupt fire after about 400ms, which is right on time. When I read starting (SPI 4 wire) at FIFO_STATUS1, I see 0x00, 0xE0, 0x02, 0x00, then FIFO_OUT data (see scope screens). Now the FIFO is obviously full, both by the interrupt and by FIFO_STATUS2 = 0xE0, but the FIFO_STATUS1 = 0x00 means there is no data to read? Why would this be the case?I also don't understand what the FIFO_PATTERN is supposed to be telling me. I see only that FIFO_PATTERN1 = 1 and everything else 0. I expected to see six values in here, although even if I did, I don't understand how to interpret that register even after reading the datasheet and application note. I don't get how binary values can point to multiple possibilities (XL_X, XL_Y, G_Z, etc.) Or is it just telling me what the next two bytes of data are? If so, I don't see a map
