Hi everyone,I am experiencing a strange discrepancy in the behavior of HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA between LPUART2 and LPUART3 on an STM32U083RCT6.Environment:MCU: STM32U083RCT6IDE: STM32CubeIDE v1.17.0Library: STM32CubeU0 Firmware Package V1.3.0 (Released 04-June-2025)The Issue: I am using HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA to handle asynchronous reception of variable-length packets.LPUART2: Works perfectly. When an IDLE line is detected, the DMA transfer stops as expected, and HAL_UARTEx_RxEventCallback is triggered.LPUART3: When an IDLE line is detected, the interrupt is generated and HAL_UARTEx_RxEventCallback is triggered correctly. I am able to handle and process the variable-length packets without any issues. However, the DMA transfer itself does not stop (it remains in an active state), unlike the behavior observed on LPUART2.Configuration: Both instances are configured in STM32CubeMX as follows:Baud Rate: * LPUART2: 230400 bpsLPUART3: 115200 bpsDMA: DMA1 [Channel configuration]Mode

We would like to use the TESEO-VIC3D GNSS receiver as a replacement part without modifying the design.Could you please confirm or comment if the following hardware connections are acceptable for this module?Pin #1 (WakeUP): Pulled-up to VCCPin #4 (WHEELTICK): Not connected (floating)Pin #7 (Reserved): Connected to GNDPin #15 (FWD): Not connected (floating)Thank you very much for any help in advance.

Started project (using STM32CubeMX) with STM32C011J4M6 (SO8 package, 16K flash).Using STM32CubeIDEVersion: 1.19.0Build: 25607_20250703_0907 (UTC)Application now requires >16K (flash (code+flash data space) so replaced MCU part with STM32C011J6M6 (SO8 package, 32K flash). After adding content to project source code (a font file, taking the expected total flash space over 16384 bytes) build does not complete.I believe the root cause is that I've not told STM32CubeIDE of change to the larger-flash version of the chip (same family, just larger flash). What file(s) need to be edited to enable the larger flash size (or do I need to revert to STM32CubeMX and then splice the now under-development project source code into the new project? C:/ST/STM32CubeIDE_1.19.0/STM32CubeIDE/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.gnu-tools-for-stm32.13.3.rel1.win32_1.0.0.202411081344/tools/bin/../lib/gcc/arm-none-eabi/13.3.1/../../../../arm-none-eabi/bin/ld.exe: (MY PROJECT NAME).elf section `.d

Hi,I want clarification on STM32 option byte programming. When we write new values to FLASH_OPTR and other option registers:Where are these FLASH option registers physically located? Are they inside the FLASH peripheral (0x4002xxxx region) and not in the option byte Flash area (0x1FFF8000)?When OPTSTRT is set, does the CPU erase/program the option byte pages, or does the FLASH controller hardware automatically erase the option byte Flash area and program it using the values in the FLASH option registers?I want to clearly understand the internal flow between:Option byte Flash memoryFLASH option registersFLASH controller hardwareThank you.

I am trying to bring up the GFX01M2 on a WB55RG board. Following any of the Custom, FlashLoader, or HelloWorld applications (from the X-CUBE-DISPLAY_3-0-0 download) using STM32CubeIDE merely results in a blank LCD. I feel I'm missing something simple, but just can't find it. In each case I have compiled and loaded the files as per the ReadMe instructions. Any pointers appreciated...

Hello,I am working with the STM32L476 and would like some clarification regarding the One-Time Programmable (OTP) area. From the reference manual, I understand that STM32L4 devices provide 1 KB of user OTP memory (128 double words). I would like to better understand the following:What exactly is stored in the OTP area? Is the OTP region purely user-programmable, or does ST also store factory calibration or security-related data in this region? Is OTP used internally by the MCU for enforcing Flash security mechanisms such as RDP, WRP, or PCROP, or is it strictly for user data? How is OTP protected ? I am trying to understand the architectural role of OTP in relation to Flash protection and secure boot mechanisms.Thank you.

I have the Nucleo-144 board N657X0Q.It appears to work (i believe there is demo code pre-installed - it is flashing a red led and the frequency changes when I press the user button).  However, I cannot get the Cube IDE or Cube Programmer to work with it.  I am just trying to read memory using the cube programmer as a test.  It connects, gets the information about the board, uploads the loader firmware, and then when it tries to read it gets an error and disconnects. The log file is attached.  I have tried using two different machines as hosts, and tried 2 different usb cables (both are suggestions from several posts I found).  I have tried reducing the speed, and using the "under reset" and "hotplug" modes to no avail.  I have selected the correct external loader before doing the check.  I am using a separate power supply on the user USB to rule out any problems with enough power from the host machines on the USB port.I don't know what to try

Hi,we are trying to get SDMMC1 running on our evaluation boards (STM32H757-EVAL) but without any success so far.To further investigate the issue we started a new project from scratch, using CubeMX with sdmmc1 enabled. It doesn't work neither.btw: board and SD interface are OK. i.e.the demo that came with the board is reading video files from SD card successfully. Please, can someone provide a ruuning setup for Cube-MX (STM32H7 firmware 11 or 12) with the specific settings for Clock Configuration and SDMMC1.We are using CubeMX 1.15, STM32H7 firmware package V. 12.1.The error happens during SD PowerOn(), i.e. there is no response from CMD8, CMD55...Thanks for your helpTom

Heyho, when enabling the INSTRUCTION cache in STM32H7(33), what must be taken care of?Any cache handling required? Any MPU settings required? As far as I understood that's only required for DATA cache?

In the STM32WB09's Reference Manual, RM0505 Rev 3, Table 8: PA10 and PA11 have SWD modes for their AF4.However, in the STM32WB09 datasheet, DS14210 Rev 6, Table 6 and Table 7: PA10 and PA11 have no AF4. Which one is correct?

Hi ST Team, First of all, I would like to thank you for your support on my previous project based on the STM32MP255D series, which has now successfully moved into production. First of all, I would like to thank you for your support on my previous project based on the STM32MP255D series, which has now successfully moved into production.Currently, I am working on a new project that is entirely focused on Ethernet-based communication. Below is my design requirement and a clarification request:Project RequirementThe system requires three Ethernet interfaces in total:Ethernet 1: Operates in standalone mode (independent network).Ethernet 2 and Ethernet 3: Should function as switch ports, supporting STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) for loop prevention.Network Topology and Data FlowEthernet 1 is used for independent communication (standalone).Ethernet 2 connects to Device A, which is daisy-chained to Device B.The last device (Device B) connects back to Ethernet 3, forming a potential loo

Hi everyone,I am experiencing an issue with STM32CubeMX version 6.16.0 while working on an STM32U375xx based project. When I set the Toolchain/IDE to CMake, the code generation process completes successfully, but the linker script (STM32U375xx_FLASH.ld) is missing from the project structure. I have checked both the root directory and the cmake/ folder, but the file is nowhere to be found.Interestingly, if I switch the Toolchain to STM32CubeIDE, the .ld file is generated as expected. This suggests a potential issue or a change in behavior specifically for the CMake generator with the new U3 series in this version of CubeMX.Environment details:MCU: STM32U375xxSTM32CubeMX Version: 6.16.0Toolchain: CMakeHas anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a specific configuration I should check in the Project Manager to ensure the linker script is included in the CMake output? Thanks for your support!Best regards,Gianni

HiI am new to display and camera interfacing, as well as the STM32N6570-DK. For a project, I want to display the output from the camera (come along with STM32N6570-DK) into the display included with STM32N6570-DK. Could you explain the necessary configurations in STM32CubeMX and how to write the code in STM32CubeIDE to interface these components? My Tool version infoCube IDE 2.0.0Cube MX 6.16.0Best RegardsRanjith

This fault is still happening since Oct 2024. However I found a workaround documented here -->https://stackoverflow.com/questions/78850472/stm32cubeprogrammer-flash-loader-cannot-be-loadedIn case the link has died, you need to do the following...Connect STM32CubeProgrammer to your STM32 device and note the "Device ID" listed in the "Target Information" window bottom right of the CubeProgrammer app, e.g. for an STM32F103 this will be 0x410.cd into your "STM32CubeProgrammer/bin/FlashLoader" folder.duplicate the file that matches your device ID (e.g. for an STM32F103 the file would be 0x410.stldr)and then rename the duplicated file "0x".Then restart STM32CubeProgrammer and it will now work properly.

Hello,I have the issue that the FlashLoader is detected but not set correctly. The error message is:flash loader cannot be loaded. FlashLoaderPath = CubeProgrammer/bin/FlashLoader/0xAs a workaround I can create a copy of the correct FlashLoader and name it 0x, but I think this should work automatically. I am running on Linux and the issue exists for several versions of CubeProgrammer and on multiple Linux distros for me. My current version 2.21.0.The issue is really annoying if you switch boards and forget to copy-rename the correct FlashLoader.

I got an angle encoder with SSI interface, which is Synchronized Serial Interface. The output data is 21-bit. No CS signal is needed.I have implemented using SPI1 master mode RX only reading this encoder, with SPI_CLK as the serial clock and SPI_MISO for data input. The data size to read is set to 3 bytes,  but the clock is transmitted one more byte as intended. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? Does the SPI send a dummy address on receiving? The clock is generated immediately upon calling __attribute__((aligned(4))) uint8_t raw_angle[16] = {0}; HAL_SPI_Receive_IT(&hspi1, raw_angle, 3);The data captured by logic analyzer:The CubeMX setting is as below: I found that SPI_SR_RXNE is left triggered after 3 bytes read by the HAL API, so I have to clear the flag before calling HAL_SPI_Receive_IT. while((SPI1->SR & SPI_SR_RXNE)){ SPI1->DR; } HAL_SPI_Receive_IT(&hspi1, raw_angle, 3); I have also tried DMA mode using HAL_SPI_Receive_DMA(&hspi1,

Hello,I am currently using the X-NUCLEO-53L7A1 expansion board together with the NUCLEO-F401RE development board.I would like to add a Bluetooth module (HC-05 or HC-06) to this setup in order to transmit measurement data wirelessly.Could someone please advise on the following:What is the recommended way to connect an HC-05/HC-06 module to the NUCLEO-F401RE when the X-NUCLEO-53L7A1 expansion board is mounted? Are there any potential hardware conflicts (e.g., UART pin usage, power supply limitations, or pin mapping issues)? Are there any known compatibility or performance issues when using the Bluetooth module together with the VL53L7CX sensor?

DescriptionHello, I am using STM32F411RET and STM32F407ZGT microcontrollers.Using STM32CubeMX, I configure a PWM output on GPIOB Pin 8 using TIM10 Channel 1.After code generation, the following GPIO initialization code is produced: GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = GPIO_PIN_8; GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_AF_PP; GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = GPIO_NOPULL; GPIO_InitStruct.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_LOW; GPIO_InitStruct.Alternate = GPIO_AF3_TIM10; HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOB, &GPIO_InitStruct); The PWM output works correctly on hardware. However, when full assertions are enabled by defining USE_FULL_ASSERT, an assertion failure occurs inside HAL_GPIO_Init() at the following check: assert_param(IS_GPIO_AF(GPIO_Init->Alternate)); After inspecting the IS_GPIO_AF() macro for STM32F4 devices, I noticed that GPIO_AF3_TIM10 is not included in the list of valid alternate functions, even though TIM10 uses AF3 on STM32F4 devices and is correctly generated by STM32CubeMX.This causes a false assertion failure when using

I'm connecting a 12-Way rotary switch to an STM32G071 as shown:Board room is extremely limited, so I'm using the MCUs built in Pull Ups. However when I read the lowest four bits of PORTD->IDR (for switch positions 7,8,9 and 10) it reads 0xA when it should read 0xF (The rotary is at position 1, so PORTD0:3 should all be pulled up).Cube MX confirms PULL UP is enabled for all switch inputs:The only other peripherals enabled on the chip are DAC output on PA4 and GPIO Output on PA15I have carefully examined the board, and there are definitely no shorts to ground, and the switch it operating perfectly. If I measure the voltage on all the PORTD0:3 pins, all are pulled up to 3.3v except PD0 and PD2, when they should be.Any suggestions?

I noticed two holes at Bottom of the MCU area on the STM32G4 Nucleo board. What is their purpose?

Our current product uses the STM32H533 microcontroller and password based Debug Authentication. We have a need to generate a large number of different DA passwords and corresponding OB Keys provisioning data. This is possible by creating our own tool to generate OB Keys .xml files and passing those into the STM32TrustedPackageCreator_CLI.exe tool, but it would be nice to cut out the .xml files and need to use the Trusted Package Creator tool. Given that the input .xml file contains a 'hash' tag and that output .obk file contains 512 bits of seemingly random data, I suspect this is a SHA-512 of the password, however I cannot manually re-create the same hash.  I've attempted padding the password to various different lengths, with various different values, additionally including the additional bytes that are included in the created 'password.bin' file that accompanies the .obk file. What process/data goes into creating the contents of the .obk file?  Is

I would like to ask how NanoEdge AI embeds multiple library models in one code, for example: I compiled a project called "test" in the Keil compiler and I want to create a project similar to an official demo video. Under the same project, there is both an anomaly detection (AD) library for learning and a multi classification (N-Classfial) library for classifying abnormal situations. Now, I have trained two models for these two libraries, but the problem is that I don't know how to embed these two models into the same project for use. I am using the v5.0.2 version of NanoEdge AI STUDIO. Can you help me solve this problem? Thank you.

Folks,I have FreeRTOS running on an H563, trust zone not used. Created the basic setup from an ioc. I have an ocassional task starvation issue and want to double check there's no stack overflow (unlikely but must check). If I set configCHECK_FOR_STACK_OVERFLOW to 1  in FreeRTOS.hIn cmsis_os2.c, vApplicationStackOverflowHook is still greyed out and hovering over configCHECK_FOR_STACK_OVERFLOW claims it's set to 0. control clicking on it takes me to the defintion where it is set to 1. Anyone know what is going on here please? And why is it set in FreeRTOS.h, not FreeRTOSConfig.h?  Thanks

Dear all, With the new STM32Cube AI Studio tool, I am getting the following errors (see attached log file). I am using it with the kit STM32N6570-DK. I tried the same model as in the tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zyIpB5o9zQ). I am getting the same type of error with other models as well. Thank you for your help. I am looking forward to being able to use this new tool.     -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------       C:/Users/papam/.stm32cubeaistudio/workspace/demo_face_detection/.ai/run/run-1/Middlewares/ST/AI/Validation/Src/ai_wrapper_ATON.c:386:10: warning: suggest parentheses around assignment used as truth value [-Wparentheses] 386 | while (aton_buf = npu_get_input_buffers_info(instance, nn_info->n_inputs))| ^~~~~~~~ C:/Users/papam/.stm32cubeaistudio/workspace/demo_face_detection/.ai/run/run-1/Middlewares/ST/AI/Validation/Src/ai_wrapper
