Solved

STM32 community,I am the junior graduate electronics engineer who is taking over an important R&D project and need advice on ensuring the functionality of an existing circuit that is crucial for our company. Unfortunately, the lead engineer who developed the firmware for this circuit has departed as part of a dispute, leaving us without access to the source code. We do have access to the electronic design files such as schematics and board layouts. The device is using a STM32F103RCT6 mcu and I was not involved in the original development process, but am now being thrown into the cold here :\We already have other PCBs built but do not have the firmware loaded on these. We have an upcoming opportunity where this piece of equipment will not be in use during production and we would like to seize this opportunity to create a backup copy of the existing firmware in order to ensure we can continue to use and maintain the equipment in the future.I would like to mention that I already have e

As shown in the attached figure, I know that this failure, if for a short time duration, does not propagate to other ports (driver/receivers), which can therefore continue to operate without failing. What I need to know is the voltage level reached on the VCC line of RHFLVDS2281 if the LVDS driver fails due to 5V applied to its output. Shall I see 5V on VCC? This can be a problem for the other parts on the board which are connected to the same Vcc supply (3.3V).

I want to attch stlink to my raspberry pi platform which runs in aarch64 platform, so that I can debug with STM32CubeIDE. But I cannot find suitable stlink-server which can be worked in aarch64. (Only x64 platform are provided.) Could you compile it for that ? Many thanks.

Hello all. If I create a threadX build for say STM32L496QGI3Will I be able to use the same build in the entire STM32 line? Or just SMT32L's ?At what point do I need to build again?thanks

I can invoke the ROM bootloader on the STM32U575ZI both by pulling PH3 to 3v3 at boot and I can then connect STM32CubeProgrammer using USART1 PA9, PA10 as described in AN2606. However the STM32U5 does not enumerate via the USB-C connector on the Nucleo board.I have verified that VDDUSB is supplied (DVM measures 3v3 on SB30).Does anyone have any ideas why the ROM bootloader will not enumerate with my PC ? Thanks.I should add that the STM32U575 Nucleo enumerates with my PC just fine via the USB-C connector when my application is running on it - so I don't think that there is a fundamental electrical problem.

The STM32H753 has 2 CRCs. One global CRC and one specific for Flash memory.I think it is possible to use the global CRC for flash memory right ? The benefit would be to use a different polynom than the one from Flash CRC.is it possible to have an idea of the performance loss @ 400MHz CPU clock. I know it depends on many factors, I just want to know if it's twice slower, 10 times slower...

Hi, I would like to try nucleo-WL55 in LoRa Node with Quatz and see temperature influence in RF signal. So I have unsolder R2, and solder R39/R40. But now LoRaWAN_AT_Slave does not work anymore, even if I change TCXO to Quartz in .ioc file. I can see AT menu, but ATTONE does not work anymore. What change did we do to be able to use Quartz insted of TCXO? In LoRaWAN_AT_Slave MSI RC is configure. Why when I try to use HSE PRES /4 X12 /2 (48Mhz) I can't be able to see UART ? (AT menu)

I use Modbus RTU 8N1 with 9600 bd. I always have sent the same 8 byte request. The first byte of the message is 0x01.In about 85% of all tests the STM32 evaluates the request correctly. In a 15% of all tests the first byte is evaluated as 0x80 or 0x81. The other 7 bytes are always correct.I see the wrong byte in the LPART Rx register as soon as the LPUART interrupt comes.I checked the message at the RX input of the MCU with the oscilloscope: Everything is fine: timing, bit lenght, byte lengtht, start bit, stop bit, every single bit of the message is correct. Even if the MCU evaluates the first byte wrong. I gave the LPUART a little time break after wake up from stop 2 mode. That did not help. I checked the baudrate in the register. It´s fine. I tried a lot of other things that didn´t helped.Do you have an solution idea?

I am developing a STM32 project with STM32G030K6T6 ADC channels but when I start setting the MCU, it allows only 8 ADC convertions (the datasheet describes there are 12 and the system configuration allows to add up to 12 channels) . However, I need all the 12 channels. How can I use them?

I'm using STM32G491 and I've a SuperCap mounted on VBAT Pin and using LSE with 32.768 KHz. Everything works at it should but after removing voltage supply so that VDD drops to 0V, and discharge the SuperCap to 0.6V for about 15Seconds. After this I Apply power again and VDD gets 3.3V again I can see that the TAMP registers is not cleared and the the RCC_BDCR_RTCEN says that the RTC is already started. Can the powersupply during Shutdown mode be powered from somewhere else. I can also see that the RTC counter has stopped during parts of the 15sec with low voltage.

Using CubeMX to create a new project on the STM32L0X0 series. I need two UARTS, which this part offers. However, in CubeMX, when I try to enable the SWD, it creates a conflict is the SYS tab for "System Wake-Up 3". When I roll over this, it says it conflicts with "USART2: Asynchronous Mode" . I'm not sure what System Wake-Up 3 is; I don't see any reference to multiple instances of wake-ups in the reference manual. I also don't see a GPIO conflict; the SWD interface only uses PA13 and PA14 which nothing else needs. What am I missing?

Hello, teachers.I'm sorry in advance because I think I'll be talking too long. The board I use is STM32MP157D-EV1 (evaluation board). From the previous question and answer, I found that Ubuntu 18.04 and SDK could not be installed on my board, which had a starter package installed through Windows OS.I also knew that Linux, Ubuntu (22.04 or 20.04) OS (64bit) is required to install a developer package or distribution package. So I installed Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on VMWare and even installed the STM32CubeProgrammer program. (Although VMWare-Ubuntu and STM32 evaluation board are not connected yet, I think we can find and connect various information such as environmental variables. But if it doesn't work, I'll have a headache.)Next, here's my situation.I need to install Ubuntu OS and SDK on the board I use for comfortable test construction. From what I heard from the source code developer, the version doesn't matter. Only Ubuntu OS is required. They said that cross-compilation is not neces

Hi,I have custom board running 5.15.24 OpenSTLinux on STM32MP157F based board.Problem is, when I try to select CONFIG_GCC_PLUGINS. It depends on depends on $(success, test -e $(shell,$(CC) -print-file-name=plugin)/include/plugin-version.h)in file scripts\gcc-plugins\KconfigI just can't select it, because evaluation of the conditions is always negative.I have traced the CC binary and when I run -print-file-name manually on it, plugin-version.h exist on the path.Problem seems to be with $(shellcall, which on ST port of Linux always crops output to 256 characters (which results in non existent path, because it points deeply into Yocto build folders)! I have tried it with $(shell, echoand it results in same cropping. When I try the same thing on my i.MX repository from NXP, output is correct and I can select CONFIG_GCC_PLUGINS correctly.Any ideas for what is going on?Thanks in advance,Michal Spanik

Hello,I know that LPUART can wake up MCU from STOP mode. But I'm unable to send data using DMA when entering STOP mode. I use LSE and 9600 as baudrate, so transfer takes a lot of time. I need my core to be in stop mode to reduce current consumption. Is it possible to use DMA TX in LPUART in stop mode? Any example for that?Without entering stopmode transmission is perfect. Thanks Maciek

Hi everybody!Working on Martian Robot développed by VittaScience, I need to read values coming from 5 blackline sensors to the ADC of the wb55.I tried to analogRead() the pin but nothing...Some ideas? Thanks!

The STM32U5 Errata Sheet (ES0499 rev 5 is the one I am looking at) has errata 2.2.1 which says: "The LSE frequency can be incorrect when PC13 is used as output for RTC_OUT1 or TAMP_OUT2 function". The workaround: "The RTC_OUT2 function must be used on PB2...".We are using the 48-pin STM32U575CIT6Q package which does not have pin PB2 (it appears to have been removed to make space for the SMPS pins on the Q parts). Our design plans to use an external oscillator rather than a crystal, so the LSE would be placed in bypass mode. Obviously, the external oscillator frequency is not going to change no matter what happens with RTC_OUT1/PC13 since it is independent of the MCU.Does this errata apply when the LSE is in bypass mode? I have been assuming that the errata is that RTC_OUT1/PC13 can interfere with properly driving an external crystal, but I suppose it could instead be interfering with an edge detector/counter or something else on the input side. Unfortunately there are very few details

Do to the ongoing lack of availability of the STM32F767VGT (and no news on when this will be resolved), we've dropped an STM32F765VGT on to the PCB as a possible substitute. STMCube32MX says I can map the pins the same way, but the Ethernet doesn't work. Any clues as to where I need to start looking? I think there's a problem with the Phy MDI interface as all the Phy registers read FF.

I am using a STM32L073RZT6 MCU and the Cube IDE V1.11. Using the .IOC, I instantiated UART1 on PB7-6 with global interrupts enabled and a DMA service for RX. On the PC side of things I'm using PuTTy as a sniffer and a UART to USB cable for COMS. I have provided screenshots of the configuration, PuTTy output and code snippets below. Each time I transmit a character to the MCU, the rx callback runs twice, but, on the second go around, the rx buffer seems to be reset and transmits 'None'. While I am confused by this added behavior, I mostly am concerned with why it runs the call back twice. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you. /* USER CODE BEGIN PV */ volatile uint8_t uart_tx_buffer[4]; volatile uint8_t uart_rx_buffer[4]; const uint8_t uart_default_msg[8] = {'W', 'A', 'I', 'T', 'I', 'N', 'G', 0x0D}; /* USER CODE END PV */   /* Private function prototypes -----------------------------------------------*/ void SystemClock_Config(void); static void MX_GPIO_Init(void); static vo

Hello!I upgraded Linux kernel from 5.4 to 5.15 (ST linux-5.15-stm32mp-r2). Simply added new options to kernel config and kept mostly the same DT. I get the error below in the boot log which renders the whole system unusable.Based on the boot log below what would you think I am missing? If it is impossible to know without a .config and/or DT I will try to add those.[   3.254882] platform 50000000.rcc: Linked as a consumer to firmware:scmi[   3.261800] rcc@50000000 Dropping the fwnode link to scmi[   3.267423] bus: 'platform': __driver_probe_device: matched device 50000000.rcc with driver stm32mp1_rcc[   3.277231] platform 50000000.rcc: error -EPROBE_DEFER: supplier firmware:scmi not ready[   3.285613] platform 50000000.rcc: Added to deferred list[   3.291297] device: '50001000.pwr': device_addThanks in advance!

Hi ST,Currently I'm working on a project where I would like to use a camera and project the image on the LCD of the discovery board. Now I know that the B-CAMS-OMV should be interfaceable with every STM32 MCU, but I can't seem to get it to work. I tried the BSP project that came with the STM32F746G-DISCO and added the 'Camera_demo' function from camera.c to the main.c file. Because the B-CAMS-OMV is equipped with the ov5640 sensor, I changed the I2C address to 0x78 and replaced all the instances of ov9655 with ov5640. This however, does not work. Any chance someone could point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

I am evaluating the STEVAL-SMARTAG1 using the ST25R3911B-DISCO reader to program which sensors to use and sample rate. I can read sensor data using the ST Asset Tracking app (iOS) until ~30min has passed. I then get an error in the app saying "SmarTag response: Error" when I try to scan the device to view the data. However, I can still view the data after seeing the error when imported to ST25PC-NFC. The error seems to be independent of sample rate and which sensor I am using. Is this an issue with ST Asset Tracking iOS app? Also, the SMARTAG has been missing data logs from time to time. Is there a work around for that as well? Thanks

I am using stm32l4r board to run some tests and i am generating my code with stm32cubemx, I am having an issue with the octospi parameters after investing with my colleagues and checking the documents we discovered it is a problem related to the delay block but i did not know how to fix it

I'm using NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q and I want to use USART3 on both M7 and M4 cores. The initializer is set to M7 as shown in the screenshot below. However, I can only get USART working on M7 but not on M4.On the other hand, If I set the initializer to M4, then USART only works on M4 but not M7. It seems like HAL cannot work without an initializer. I would like to know the correct way to use HAL that can work on both cores. Thanks!
