I followed and reproduced the video https://youtu.be/NFljjd_vQGA.I reproduced it using an STM32F429I-DISC1 module, and it works. In Windows Explorer, among the files created by the TouchGFX generator, you can see the file tree of a CubeIDE project: /core, /drivers, /middleware, etc. However, the IOC file does not have the same name as the project. When you double-click on the .project file (as shown in the video, in the STM32CubeIDE folder),inside the CubeIDE environment you see a different file tree compared to Windows Explorer:The project name has become: STM32F429I_DISCO_REV_D01No /core/src and /core/inc foldersmain.c is located in /application/userNo main.hNo link to open TouchGFX Designeretc. What should be done to get back to a “standard” CubeIDE project?
I have a vscode task that allows me to just flash the application using `cube` which has worked fine until I got the lastest extensions update where now running this task will give a "The "path" argument must be of type string. Hi there! Thank you for reading this.Where has the support for exporting footprints/symbols to Altium Designer from STM32CubeMX gone?In the promotional video from https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stm32cubemx.html it appears there is an option for doing this, but when I try it on a recent version of STM32CubeMX no option is available. What am I missing here? Check following screenshot of promotional video vs. STM32CubeMX side by side.STM32CubeMX version: 6.16.0
I'm having the same issue on my NUCLEO-WBA65RI project. This problem specifically occurs when I try to use both X-CUBE-FREERTOS and STM32_WPAN. The project cleanly builds just fine if I only use one or the other, but as soon as I try to include both in a project I receive this "fatal error: crc_ctrl.h: No such file or directory" error. I am currently using X-CUBE-FREERTOS version 1.3.1 with CMSIS RTOS2 version 10.6.2. I can see in the BLE_HeartRateFreeRTOS project that there is a CRC_Ctrl folder generated under "Application/User/System/Config" that is not being generated under "System/Config" on my system, in addition to crc_ctrl.c/h not being generated under "Projects/Common/WPAN/Modules" on my system. Moved from this thread.
Hi all,I've created a new default project for the STM32N6 Discovery Kit, and set up a simple blinking application using the BSP LED functions. /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */ BSP_LED_Init(LED_GREEN); while(1) { HAL_Delay(1000); BSP_LED_Toggle(LED_GREEN); } /* USER CODE END 2 */I've noticed that in the Application, HAL_Delay() runs roughly 2× too fast. For example, HAL_Delay(1000) only delays for ~500 ms. I can see this because the LED is blinking too quickly. In this Application, TIM2 is used as the timebase source (I presume because of ThreadX using SysTick).I looked at the TIM2 setup in HAL_InitTick() (inside stm32n6xx_hal_timebase_tim.c). The relevant snippet is: /* Compute TIM2 clock */ uwTimclock = HAL_RCC_GetPCLK1Freq(); /* Compute the prescaler value to have TIM2 counter clock equal to 1MHz */ uwPrescalerValue = (uint32_t) ((uwTimclock / 1000000U) - 1U); /* Initialize TIM2 */ htim2.Instance = TIM2; /* Initialize TIMx peripheral as follow: * Period = [(TIM2CLK/1000) - 1
Hi,I am trying to configure the internal cooperators in the STM32F051 micro-controller, but in the .ioc file I am able to configure only one Comparator. I require three comparators for my application. Is it possible to configure multiple comparators on the STM32F051 development board? If so, could someone please explain how to configure multiple comparators in the STM32F051 micro-controller?
After upgrade from 6.15 to 6.16 on linux ubuntu 24.04 I got this blocking error if I load project file (created with cubemx 6.15):cannot invoke com.st.microxploer.mcu.IP.getInstanceName() because mpu is nullI tried both "migrate" and "continue" options but I got the same error. Attached the project file
Hello!I have an MQTT project using NetX Duo, which publishes MQTT messages to a remote server. But, before it can do that, a secure connection must be established using TLS v1.2, which takes about 18-20 seconds (checked while debugging and stepping through the connect function). So, I wanted to find a way to make that process faster.I found this post on the forums, here (porting Mbed TLS to the STM32H5 platform with hardware crypto acceleration). But this raised some questions for me. Firstly, how to exactly implement this in the NetX Duo's TLS setup (if even possible)? And secondly, I am missing the AES option in the CubeMX settings - is that correct or I am missing something? I only have PKA, HASH, RNG and GTZC options.I checked the included files in the above linked post on how to port the mbedTLS, but was a bit overwhelmed as how would one implement it into the NetX Duo's TLS connection setup. I am using an RSA key(s) for the secure connection. I was hoping that someone might
Hi,I need help with latest X-NUCLEO-BNRG2A1 board firmware/software. The schematic available on ST website looks old as it shows R700 but it is unavailable on my board. On my board R117 has a zero ohm resistance connected. The D1 on the board does not turn On after Power ON.I have purchased NUCLEO-STM32F411RE and X-NUCLEO-BNRG2A1 boards. The STM32F411 with updated firmware is unable to talk to the BlueNRG2 board. The D1 on BlueNRG2 board remains OFF. The J10 pins remains shorted. I have tried shorting the J15 pins as well as swapping the J14 connections from pins 2-3 to pins 1-2.I do have ST-Link V2 debugger with me.Please help me download the firmware for ST website for the board containing IC: 8976C-BNRGM2SP so that I can use the BLE in different modes. My sample test code executing on sTM32F411 which fails with message hci_reset : FAILED (66)Please also suggest when and how to use stsw-bnrgui-v471, stsw-bluenrg1-dk, etc. and any other tool. Thanks and regards,Rajeev
MEMS studio is working perfect on windows 11 and another windows 10 machine. But it is not working on one windows 10 pro laptop. Kindly guide what can be the reasons.
Hi, I am trying to debug a program running on a SPC56EL MCU, but can not find the device on the list in the debug configuration tabhow can I add SPC devices to the list?
I have bought a new eval board from semikart via aquatronics. The device mounted on dil 24 of mk1251 kit is lsm6dsv320. The whoamI address of the device is 0x73 but it was not coming when we integrate with nucleo board. So, I waited for eval kit IKS4A1 to double check which I had ordered on coming of eval mk1251. I got MEMS Studio running on a windows 11 machine. But when I opted for dil sensor lsm6dsv320 , it threw inconsistent whoAMI address error. I am trying to contact semikart and aquatronics from last 10 days but none of them are responding. kindly tell a way to correct it or replace the eval kit mk1251.
Hello there,as wolfssl_connect is not getting out any ClientHello, I was wondering if it is due to the change of the memory?I am using an example as starting point. Unfortunately it is coming only with the fsbl.ld, so I made changes, so it access the main RAM:/* ****************************************************************************** ** ** @file : STM32N6XX_AXISRAM2_fsbl.ld ** ** @author : GPM Application Team ** ** @brief : Linker script for STM32N6XX Device from STM32N6 series ** 2048 KBytes RAM ** ** Set heap size, stack size and stack location according ** to application requirements. ** ** Set memory bank area and size if external memory is used ** ** Target : STMicroelectronics STM32 ** ** Distribution: The file is distributed as is, without any warranty ** of any kind. ** ****************************************************************************** ** @attention ** ** Copyright (c) 2024 STMicroelectronics. ** All rights reserved. ** ** This software is licensed under term
I would like to implement delay signal output with STM32 MCU.So I use the original signal input for EXT interrupt.EXT interrupt's callback activates the timerIf a timer callback is called after a time delay of the desired value, it is implemented by setting the GPIO pin to HIGH.However, it can be confirmed that the desired amount of delay is achieved, but the timing of the pin becoming HIGH varies each time, and it takes about 1.5 to 1.8us between EXT and TIMER.I would like to know if the idea can be implemented as STM32 MCU series. also posting my Clock Configuration pic
I’m running into a confusing SPI issue and would appreciate a second set of eyes.I have an ADXL345 accelerometer over SPI working perfectly on an STM32F446RE Nucleo board. I can reliably read the DEVID register (0x00 → 0xE5) and stream XYZ data.I moved the exact same code (verbatim) to an STM32H723ZG board and swapped the SPI handle / GPIO definitions accordingly. The SPI peripheral initializes correctly, but the ADXL345 no longer returns 0xE5. Reads either return 0x00 / 0xFF or garbage depending on settings.Things I’ve already checked / changed:Same ADXL345 breakout (verified working on F446)SPI mode (CPOL/CPHA) set to Mode 3 per datasheetMSB + READ bit set correctlyChip select manually controlledSPI clock slowed way downCorrect SPI instance & pinsNSS handled in softwarePower and ground verified at the sensorWhat’s odd:Works 100% on F446REFails consistently on H723ZG with the same transaction sequenceCan’t even read the DEVID register (0xE5)I’m starting to suspect something H7-spe
I am using I2S (SAI) on the STM32L433 nucleo board and using the internal MSI RC as the clock source.I also have a 32.768kHz LSE external crystral which I believe helps to make the MSI RC clock more accurate when used with PLL.Is the internal MSI RC clock suitable for I2S, or do I need to use an external crystal HSE (12.288MHz) ?I do get occasional glitches/clicking but I am using development boards with jumper wires, even a small amount of movement with these wires cause issues. The clock configuration is below...The STM32 is configured to be the I2S master which receives audio from a bluetooth receiver (BT401) and passes that audio through to a class D amp (MAX98357A) as shown below... When certain events occur, voice prompt audio is injeteced into one channel which is stored in external flash connected to the STM32 SPI .
Hello,I tested the new STM32CubeIDE 2.0 today and was initially confused that CubeMX opened when I double-clicked on the *.ioc file. However, this is listed as a new feature in the release notes.Unfortunately, this feature completely destroys my projects. When the code is generated, these settings in the CubeIDE project change:- Targeted Language changes from C++ to C- Linked folders are deleted- Configurations: DEBUG, SYSTEM added- Linker file settings from own configurations deletedDid I make a mistake in the settings? Why is the project changed so much?Best regards,Jens
Hii, I am currently trying to communicate with BQ4050 via SMBUS communication, I am using STMCUBEID as development enviornment and I am using stm32 nucleo board and trying from past two days but i am unable figure out what is the issue so if anyone has the project related to can share me that could be useful to revive and know where i made the mistake and I am also uploading my project related to it you can guide me where i am doing the mistake. I am waiting for your reply.Thank you
Hello everyone — I’m running an AI image-classification model on the STM32N6570-DK and I’m stuck with a reproducible problem. The first inference completes successfully (EVENT_DONE), but on the second run the code gets stuck inside the runtime (run_epoch) with no event returned; on the third attempt it again stalls and then triggers a HardFault. I followed the ST tutorial here when creating the project:https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/how-to-build-an-ai-application-from-scratch-on-the-stm32n6570-dk/ta-p/825591Below are the full details, steps to reproduce, debug info, things I’ve tried, and the files I’ve attached.EnvironmentBoard: STM32N6570-DKModel: Image Classification (generated with STM32Cube.AI)Model and weights: placed in xSPI1 / xSPI2 (QSPI/XSPI) and also copied to internal SRAM for some buffersSRAM clocks: enabled for SRAM3, SRAM4, SRAM5, SRAM6Toolchain: STM32Cube IDE - Latest versionCubeMX / Cube.AI version: Latest VersionRTOS: (bare-metal / FreeRTOS) : Bare
Hi,We are using a custom board based on STM32U5G7VJTxQ and implementing USB Mass Storage Class (USBX) to expose an SD card formatted with a file system created using FileX.The SD card when formatted with FAT32 (using FileX API), the USB mass storage device takes a very long time to become available on Windows.Observed behavior:As soon as the USB cable is plugged in, Windows shows a pop-up message:"Please insert a disk into USB drive"After approximately 3-4 minutes, the drive finally appears automatically and becomes accessible.Once the drive is mounted, it works normally. We would like to understand:What could cause this very slow enumeration/access time with FAT32?Are there any known limitations or required configurations in USBX + FileX when using FAT32?Could this be related to SD card access speed, cluster size, cache configuration, or USB MSC parameters? Are we missing any required FileX, USBX, or HAL configurations specific to FAT32?Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated.T
Hi - I have a new application where I'm trying to slave 1 axis to another axis. The application is an autonomous winch. The master axis drives the winch drum, the slave axis drives a level wind that makes sure the winch line is approaching the drum at a 90 degree angle as the winch line moves back and forth across the winch drum. The slave rotation rate needs to run at a fixed ratio to the master rotation rate, somewhere around 0.1X the master speed. When the line reaches the end of the drum, the slave needs to dwell (slave speed = 0) for a fraction of a rotation and then reverse direction at the same speed ratio. I can sense the line reaching the end of the drum very precisely with an external sensor. Both motors will be BLDC with encoders.I've been using the STEvalServo1 for a different application and have learned a lot. I have some questions about which eval board would be suitable for this application. There are 3 complications.1. In some situations, the master will be running in c
Hello,In a typical example, there is the following linker script: /* Highest address of the user mode stack */ _estack = ORIGIN(RAM) + LENGTH(RAM); /* end of "RAM" Ram type memory */ _Min_Heap_Size = 0x200; /* required amount of heap */ _Min_Stack_Size = 0x400; /* required amount of stack */ : : ._user_heap_stack : { . = ALIGN(8); PROVIDE ( end = . ); PROVIDE ( _end = . ); . = . + _Min_Heap_Size; . = . + _Min_Stack_Size; . = ALIGN(8); } >RAM On paper, the intention is the stack has an allocation of _Min_Stack_Size (0x400) bytes. So far so good.However, the location _Min_Stack_Size seems to have nothing to do with _estack which the is actual address assigned to the MSP by the start-up code.The map file shows that "stack" is located between 0x20000208 and 0x20000608. ._user_heap_stack 0x0000000020000004 0x604 load address 0x0000000008000c5c 0x0000000020000008 . = ALIGN (0x8) *fill* 0x0000000020000004 0x4 [!provide] PROVIDE (end = .) 0x000000002000
Hello, does the SPC58EG80E5xxCxx variant have the checker core feature for core 0 or is the checker core unique to the ASIL-D variant such as SPC58EG80E5xxHxx?
Dear,I have an application that is very simple and instead of hooking up a STM32C01x to the ST87M01 I would like to know if I can program my own application inside of it? Regards,Roland
Hi team,I have seen example of C4MINI1 daisy chaining BMSCCTX with BMSCC which is working fine.I have 2 BMSCCTX, so i was wondering that i can connect 2 BMSCCTX for daisy chaining with C4MINI1.But i have noticed that in the datasheet of CCTX, the daisy chain receiving pins are not mounted inside,(which is mounted for BMSCC only. So does it mean i cant use 2 BMSCCTX as node and use dual access configuration? Can anyone explain about this please.Thank You.
