HiI had the stm32f746G-disco development board laying around, after while I wanted to try some application, during flash I got warning that my st-link firmware was old, I wanted to upgrade it but failed during upgrade, anyway it was very old firmware. Well I had another st-link at hand, I have connected it to the SWD port on the dev-kit, *** me I thought it is connected to stm32f7 but after pressing erase flash I saw the connected MCU is stmf103, well I accidentally erased the st-link, long story short it was a *** mistake.I have been searching online there are lots of suggestion, I am very confused, is there a way to recover the on board stlink. Because there is no jumper or pin that exposes SWD/JTAG pins of stm32f7, I need to recover it.I have tried "java -jar STLinkUpgrade.jar -d8_d32_msc_br -force_prog" with stm32f407 nucleo board but no chance.Any help appreciated thanks.
Question 1The first image shows the toolchain configuration of my previous project, and the second image shows the configuration displayed in my newly created project. Why do I need to reinstall the toolchain when creating a new project on the same computer?Question 2I remember that when I first used the extension, these tools were all specified through scripts. However, after using it for a period of time, I found that CMake, programmer, and other tools could not find the specified paths, so I had to add them all to the environment variables.
Hi,ich wanted to have a look on the following project: https://github.com/stm32-hotspot/STM32WB-ZB-RUC-Lighting/tree/mainHow can i import it in STM32CubeIDE 2.0.0 ?In the readme is written:In order to make the programs work, you must do the following: Open your toolchain Rebuild all files and flash the board with the executable fileSo i opened cube ide, hit on import existing project and so on, but this does not really work.It seems to be not recognized as anything which it can work with or so.
I got my STM32H745I-DISCO (STM32H745XIH6U) kit and wanted to update st-link (STLINK-V3E) firmware. Unfortunately I used unreliable USB cable and it got probably disconnected during the process. Now the STLinkUpgrade shows the line "Unknown firmware type. Don't know how to upgrade."Is there any chance to restore original firmware? Or do I have to use external ST-Link/buy new board?Thank you in advance.
Hello Cant find any data of this product form st 095RONT EL4U1TF ACan please somebody help me ?
Hello everyone,This is my first post on the ST Community forum.I recently moved from a custom 6-layer board using STM32H725IGKB to a simpler 4-layer board using STM32H723ZGT6. Both designs use an external OCTOSPI memory, with 50 ohm controlled-impedance routing and 33 ohm series resistors on the signals. On the new 4-layer board, I am seeing read/write errors on the OCTOSPI interface, while the original 6-layer board works reliably with similar routing and firmware.I would like to ask whether the OCTOSPI output driver characteristics or output impedance differ between STM32H725 and STM32H723, or if these issues are more likely related to signal integrity, stack-up, or return-path differences on a 4-layer PCB.Any guidance or experience would be appreciated.Thank you in advance.
Hi, I mistakenly used the pin for swd on my F446RE for other purposes and now it does not connect through st link. Can anyone guide me through a solution for it? The only thing I can do now is update the board. The two leds are always red.
I have CubeMX 2.0.0 and I notice that if I want to enable DSIHOST, I need to first enable HSE.But the clock configuration of the DSI does not require HSE. It seems that the clock configuration of DSI seems to work with HSI in CubeMX 2.0.0.So, the question is: I need to enable HSE, but do I need to clock configure it for DSI as well? Or could I use HSI in the clock configuration, even if HSE is enabled? Processor: STM32MP257FAK3
Hi!I'm looking for an appropriate DRAM for the MP257.I know there is a table about validated DRAM for MPUs.https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Validated_DRAM_on_STM32_MPU_portfolioMy question is if there is a DRAM standard i csn follow if I want to try another vendor of DRAM?I'm looking for other types of DRAM that shares the same footprint and connection. But I'm unsure if it's good enough to select a DRAM on those specifications.I've heard that there is a standard called JEDEC. If another vendor follows that standard, does that mean that this DRAM is compatible with the MP257?For example: The MP257-DK is validated with MT53E1G32D2FW-046 WT:C, but that DRAM is out of stock. Could I use MT53E1G32D2FW-046 WT:B instead? It's the design B version instead of design C version.
I am currently using the STM32N657 on the NUCLEO-N657X0-Q board to drive an 800x480 pixel display with 24-bit color. The display that I am using is the NHD-7.0-800480EF-ASXV#-T. I’m using the built in LTDC controller on the chip. I do know that the controller is working because the entire screen is black, the screen would be showing the backlight if it wasn’t. The problem is that I am unable to display anything at all when writing to the screen buffer. Here are the configuration parameters that I am using based on the data sheet:Here are the layer settings that I am using:Here is the clock configuration for the LTDC: Here is the code that I am running:main.cint main(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 1 */ /* USER CODE END 1 */ /* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*/ HAL_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN Init */ /* USER CODE END Init */ /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config(); /* USER CODE BEGIN SysInit */ /* USER CODE END SysI
Can anyone tell me or direct me to a source that shows the minimum connections needed to power up and serially program a STM32F765ZGT6? (144 pin package.) I will be attaching the chip to a breakout board and will be using a St-Link Minie3. Any help much appreciated.
On platforms like LCSC and Mouser, an IMU labeled "LSM6DSVQTR" is listed separately from the LSM6DSVTR. On JLCPCB, the LSM6DSVQTR has considerably more stock than the LSM6DSVTR and is eligible for the "economic" PCBA service, unlike the LSM6DSVTR.Do these IMUs have any meaningful differences, or can they be used interchangeably? If they do have differences, are they documented anywhere?
I'm curious how hard of a task would it be to get UCPD working with the STM32N6 with zephyr. I see it's supported with the G0* https://docs.zephyrproject.org/latest/boards/st/stm32g071b_disco/doc/index.html From my understanding the UCPD hardware block is the same between the two chips?
Hi! I'm working on a Power Delivery Sink using an STM32G484RETx MCU. I managed to get SPR Power Delivery working without any issues, but I'm having trouble handling the EPR handshake.I'm using the latest USB-PD library from ST's GitHub:https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/stm32-mw-usbpd-coreI can successfully enter EPR Mode, but the PD stack automatically calls Evaluate Capabilities and sends an SPR Request (Data Object[2] == 0). I can’t find any option to prevent the stack from running Evaluate Capabilities when Extended PDOs are received from the source.I’ve read @FBL's post on the ST Community, which states that the latest stack should support EPR:https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-embedded-software/update-about-usb-pd-stack-to-support-epr-mode/td-p/829168Do you have any solutions or examples that show how to properly handle EPR using the ST USB-PD stack? In the second screenshot, you can see that the stack incorrectly sends an EPR Request (Data Object[2] = 00000000h)
I have swapped from a custom PCB-board with a 6-layer stack using a STM32H725IGKB, to another custom board with a 4-layer stack using STM32H723ZGT6 (simpler package).I am using an external OCTO SPI on both boards, but I have R/W errors with the 4-layer board. Both boards are routed with 50 ohms impedance and uses 33 ohms series resistors for the OCTO SPI.I am wondering if the output impedance is the same for these two H7-devices?
Hello everybody,I am trying to synchronize the ADC1 and ADC2 to work with center-aligned PWM signals in dual-simultaneous regular mode using DMA. My setup:PWM frequency: 5.2 kHZADC conversion frequency: 104/2 = 52 MHZIf I have 3 conversions per ADC with every single one lasting 2.5 cycles, according to the reference manual:One conversion : (2.5 + 12.5)*19ns = 285 nsThree conversions: 285*3 = 855 nsThe problem is when I hook up oscilloscope I see that I am getting 8.2us until I reach my interrupt routine which is much longer than expected. I want to do all of my conversions at the moment when CNT=ARR so that I make sure lower side of the FET is ON. I am doing this by setting another channel of the timer to use it only for the time base and setting its TIMx.Pulse = ARR -1. Also TIM1 and TIM8 are synchronized through master/slave in trigger mode on enabling the counter. Picture of the scope:Yellow : PA7 - GPIOBlue: TIM1CH2 PWM /* USER CODE BEGI
Hi ST Team,I am working on custom MPU board based on STM32MP257F-EV1 reference design. For our design, reassigned I2C1 from the M33 core to the A35 core using STM32CubeMX.The I2C1 ownership changed from CID2 (M33) to CID1 (A35) in CubeMX.Corresponding RIF changes are applied in stm32mp257f-ev1-ca35tdcid-ostl-rif.dtsi and enabled I2C1 entry in linux devicetree with clock frequency 400kHz.During runtime, I2C1 SCL frequency is observed at ~141 kHz, even when:clock-frequency = 400000clock-frequency = 100000On referring clock configuration section in cubeMX, could observe the PLL4 is the parent clock for both I2C1 and I2C2.I2C2 clock output matches the configured frequency on hardware probing in both frequency (100 and 400kHz).Whether any additional clock, RIF, or access-controller configuration is required specifically for I2C1 after moving it to the A35 core. Can you please check and help us to resolve the issue.BSP - openstlinux-6.6-yocto-scarthgap-mpu-v24.11.06 - distribution packageThanks
Hi Team, Currently, I am working on the STM32N657-DK EVB with an SPI interface (ADS118 sensor). I have enabled SPI5 in the .ioc file. The configured pins are: PE11 – SCK PH8 – MISO PG2 – MOSI PA3 – CS According to the schematic, these pins are connected to the CN12 connector. My question is whether these pins can communicate correctly using the SPI5 interface or not. Secondly, I want to generate PWM signals. Could you please let me know which pins are suitable for PWM generation on this board? I tried using the CN11 and CN12 connectors to drive PWM signals on pins such as PE9, PE10, and PE11, but PWM is not being generated. Kindly let me know your inputs.
I am developing a custom board using STM32H523RET6.It has a USB type C port, and I am trying to send some data from PC to the board through it, and decided to use USB CDC ACM with standalone mode. The code is based on this and this.ux_device_class_cdc_acm_write_run worked perfectly, but ux_device_class_cdc_acm_read_run doesn't work.No matter what kind of texts I send, ux_device_class_cdc_acm_read_run returns "T" (84). The code I am using is this;uint8_t UserRxBuffer[APP_RX_DATA_SIZE]; VOID USBX_DEVICE_CDC_ACM_Read_Task(VOID) { ULONG actual_length = 0; UX_SLAVE_DEVICE *device; device = &_ux_system_slave->ux_system_slave_device; /* Check if device is configured */ if ((device->ux_slave_device_state == UX_DEVICE_CONFIGURED) && (cdc_acm != UX_NULL)) { #ifndef UX_DEVICE_CLASS_CDC_ACM_TRANSMISSION_DISABLE /* Set transmission_status to UX_FALSE for the first time */ cdc_acm -> ux_slave_class_cdc_acm_transmission_status = UX_FALSE
New question Moved from this thread. Hello @mƎALLEm Thankyou for the reply. I was trying to connect stm32U585aii6Q and STM32N6 with same audio codec MB1219 & wifi, of course one at a time. Can you guide is it possible to do. Thanks Regards, Sakshi
How may I use STM32MP257F-EV1 PCIe in *Endpoint Mode*? I am looking to connect two STM32MP257F-EV1 devices together via PCIe; one device in PCIe host mode, and the other in PCIe endpoint mode.1) Physical connectionAccording to the boards user manual, I see that the PCIe interface is presented on CN13 and described as a Mini-PCIe. How can I connect two STM32MP257F-EV1 devices together via PCIe?2) Clock configurationSection 8.9.1 talks about a 100MHz Ref Clock options. There appear to be three options: (1) SOC generates a clock, (2) SOC takes external clock from U33, or (3) SOC takes clock from the mini-PCIe connector. The selection of an option refers to several "R###" on/off choices. Are these choices made by adjusting surface mount resistors? If we aim to connect one eval board ("Host mode") to another ("Endpoint mode"), should we aim to bring bring board's clock to the other? Or provide same external clock to both boards?Where is this exte
Hi, I'm using stm32h7, currently working with SPI + DMA in HAL library, because of HAL overhead I want to move to LL library, where can I get the SPI+DMA using LL library examples, regards, Srinath
Hello everyone,I am interfacing ADXL345 in stm32f103c8t6 by using I2C connection. I have fixed the set up on a board. I would like to know if I can identify the movement of adxl by observing the changes in x, y, and z values if there is no vibration but the board is moving smoothly, that is, to the right or left. If not, how can I predict when the adxl will go forward or backward without relying on the sensor's tilt or vibration? I just want to create a basic activity detector where the logic would be :1. If the setup does not move, the output should be zero.2. If the setup is vibrating and moving, the output should be one.3. If it is simply vibrating (and not moving in space), the output should be 0.So, basically, I want to detect actual movement and not just vibration noise.I noticed that when the movement is smooth or constant ADXL345 values do not change much, so my logic is not detecting that as “motion.”STM32f103c8t6<-> ADXL345PB6<->SCL PB
Hi thereI'm a little embarrassed to post this, but.. Coming from Microchip world I would just change TRISx, so simple. As I've learned so far the MX are in charge for setting up a port. But in my application I need to set a 8 bit wide port for parallel interface to a device. Also it needs to change output <> input. My first thoughts were not to tell the MX about the device on port PC0 to PC7.Then do the setup "manually" in the code. But then again I think this so common, there must be a MX way of doing this. Thank you.
Hello!I am currently troubleshooting an issue on a customized board based on the STM32F469IIT6 MCU. The board leverages MIPI-DSI Video Burst Mode to render a TouchGFX UI on the display. The problem manifests as follows: the display works perfectly normal when the video signal initializes, but the image intermittently shifts within 5 minutes after power-on.I have captured the MIPI-DSI video signal using an oscilloscope for analysis. The results indicate that the synchronization signal of the DSI output remains stable as expected, while a noticeable delay occurs in the pixel data transmission — which is the direct cause of the image shifting issue.I had confirmed that the registers of the DSI and LTDC wasn't changed before and after the shift. The DSI and LTDC shows no warnings or errors. What could be the root cause of this? Is there any solutions? You can find the shifted image displayed and the wave captured in the attachment.
