Hi Friend,We have an old project using BlueNRG-1. The project is peripheral. Now, we want to modify it to a new project. The new project has a custom 128-bit uuid and two 16-bit uuids. Two 16-bit uuids are based on the above-mentioned 128-bit uuid. One uuid is for read data and the other is for write data. BLE chat or BLE Sensor Demo or BLE throughput\Server bidirectional or other examples. Which one is more suitable?Thank you in advance.
Using AN5651 Update procedure and configuration in DTM firmware for X-NUCLEO-BNRG2A1, I upgraded the firmware image to the latest stack image. I connected the ST link V2 and flashed the "BLUENRG-M2SP_DTM_SPI.hex" file with the BlueNRG ST link utility. After the device was flashed successfully, the ST link V2 lost connection to the device and could no longer connect to the target. The SWD settings are the same as before: 100kHz, low power mode enabled, etc. I have tried restarting the application, power cycling the board, and trying different SWD frequencies, but nothing seems to work. The interesting thing is that the M2SP is fully functional. The BLE application on my main nucleo board still functions with the BNRG2A1 as before, so I know that the new FW was flashed correctly. In fact, I verified the reported FW version from the M2SP had changed to the new version number when debugging my nucleo board application. It seems that the new FW image I flashed has somehow disabled SWD.

Hi,I'm trying to implement an Eddystone beacon with interleaving frames, e.g. UID + TLM, using a BlueNRG-MS and BlueNRG-2. I can configure the BlueNRG to act as a beacon broadcasting one of these frames but I don't see how to go about alternating or interleaving two or more different frames.Any pointers on how to go about doing this would be appreciated.Thanksjay
I'm trying to use OOB pairing with the blueNRG1, using the latest DK3.2.1 (stack V2.1c). There is no example available, the security example has all security examples with exception of OOB. I'm trying to use LE legacy mode for now, but LE secure is also a possibility. The documentation lists the functions aci_gap_set_oob_data/aci_gap_get_oob_data to set/get the OOB keys, but I'm missing a function to enable OOB?When I search the stack for the keyword OOB i found the following defines:#define OOB_AUTH_DATA_ABSENT (0x00) #define OOB_AUTH_DATA_PRESENT (0x01)Which function takes these defines as an input?
Hi,I'm trying to use uart1 in stm32f411ce and I have a weird problem. in my test I am sending data from the stm32 to an arduino and printing the received data on the serial monitor. In the stm32 I'm sending bytes with the most significant part counting from 0x02 to 0xF2. the list significant part always transmits well but the LSP has a weird behavior. I made a table that shows the transmitted bytes and the received bytes.thanks
Hi I'm trying to enable OTA Service on my device with the BlueNRG2 Chip. I use the Lower Application Scheme. Therefore I flash the BLE_OTA_ResetManager at the flash beginn at 0x10040000. (I did a mass erase before that). I didn't modify the OTA ResetManager application, I took it from the BlueNrg-1.2 DK 3.2.1 example project. Then I flash the user application with enabled OTA service at 0x10040800 as described in the documentation. I tried it also with the given example projects BLE_Chat or BLE_Beacon, but the Reset manager is never jumping to the application. I can see that the reset manager reads correctly the AA5555AA tag at the correct location and get therefore the correct application to jump. But after the Jump_to_Application() call, it seems that it falls into a hard fault and makes then reset. And this will then happen in an endloos loop. Do I missunderstand something or what is wrong with my code/approach? Many thanks for every hint! Code of the main function of the OTA_Reset_
My application makes use of 4 different PDOs but the STUSB4500 can only store 3, to get around this I reprogram the NVM whenever I need access to the fourth. I'm keeping a counter for the number of rewrites so that I can issue a warning when I approach the safe limit. I'd like to know what lifespan I should expect for the NVM in the chip, this topic here is the only reference I can find which states "few thousand" cycles. If possible I'd like some more clarity on this number, as for example the difference between 1000 and 2000 would double the lifespan of my device
Hi everyone,I see there are differences between V3MODS und V3MINI in the assembly, jumpers etc.Do I need to assemble any jumpers to make the V3MODS VCP run on CN2 Connector?Best regards,Mathias Brandl

HelloI'm trying to implement the OTA feature in my project. We use the BlueNRG-2 Chip.I'm followed the BLE_Chat example and the explanaition in the The BlueNRG-LP (over-the-air) firmware upgrade document to inlcude all the ota related code parts. When I now try to load a new firmware to the device through the Android application ST BLE Mesh, I see, that on the BLE device some Gatt Attribute modified events are triggered. But right after that, the error Flash verify failure occurs from the OTA_Write_Data function.I did not adjust the BlueNRG2.Id file, do I have to change something in that file? Or can someone give me a hint, what otherwise I could/should adjust? Many thanks.TobiasI just append a part of the BlueNRG2.Id file. The rest have also all the default values./******************************************************************************* * Memory Definitions *******************************************************************************/ /* BlueNRG-2 memory map +------------------
Hi,I am working on a ST eval board (IDB006V1M with BlueNRG-MS), using BlueNRG GUI v4.1.0, for evaluating the use of the product, and I am struggling with using the White List for Android devices. Here are my manipulations and results :Advertising on the BlueNRG device with Filter Policy = 0x00 (Allow Scan Request from Any, Allow Connect Request from Any), I can detect and connect all BLE devices that I'm testing on (Windows laptop, another BlueNRG-MS, and 3 different Android devices). - Result OKAdding all the devices' public MAC address to the White List, then advertising with Filter Policy = 0x02 (Allow Scan Request from Any, Allow Connect Request from White List), only the Windows and other BlueNRG-MS device can actually connect to my advertising device, but not the Android devices. - Result NOKI can add that when connecting the Android phone to my BlueNRG device (during 1st test), one of the HCI_LE_META_EVENTs indicates the peer_address and it is different from the device public MAC

Hi,I am currently working on an IoT project which requires the use of a BLE module for streaming data. Due to the current shortage of electronic supplies, the previous BLE module we were using previously is now unavailable so we do not have the option of being able to use it.We are now currently looking for alternatives that would work well with STM32L4 MCUs, does anybody have any good suggestions as to any BLE modules that are compatible with this specific MCU family? We have found 4 BLE modules which are currently available but are unsure of which one would be best to work with?STMicroelectronics SPBTLE-RF0TR Bluetooth Module V4.1STMicroelectronics SPBTLE-RFTR Bluetooth Module V4.1Bluetooth Low Energy,BLUENRG-345ACBLUENRG-M2SPAny opinions would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance
I want to measure the reliability of bluetooth mesh network. I am using two STEVAL-IDB008V2 boards , one STEVAL-IDB007V1 board and an android smartphone to construct a bluetooth mesh network and using the lighting demo project of STSW-BNRG-Mesh v 1.05 as firmware for mesh nodes. To measure reliability, I want to send 3000 or 4000 (rough idea) packets from one mesh node and receive them on other node and print the received packet count on serial terminal. For this purpose, on Tx node, I inserted Vendor_Publish() function inside while(1) loop in main.c file (see attachment "main.jpg") and changed the arguments of BlunrgMesh_SetRemoteData() to APPLI_TEST_CMD and stored 0x04 (value for APPLI_TEST_COUNTER) in the fist byte of AppliBuffer[] in vendor.c file. On Rx node, I incremented the counter inside case: APPLI_TEST_COUNTER in appli_vendor.c file. When I transmitted 100 packets on broadcast address from tx node, I observed that serial terminal connected to Rx node showed only 22 packets as
Dear, having started 2 S2-LP evaluation boards and setting the base frequency in the GUI to 915 MHz. 1ste S2-LP calculates 914.999.999 Hz and second one calculates 915.000.004 Hz with corresponding Synth register values 0x02 0x49 0x98 0xF8 hex and 0x02 0x49 0x98 0x87 hex . ... If I calculate the base fequency for given Synth register values then it will result in respectively 914.997.892 Hz and 914.995.198 Hz. How is it possible that both GUI calculate different Synth value (same firmware is running) knowing that a both s2-LP boards have fixed 50MHz oscullator is on the board ?I have calculated the theoretical Synth value for 915MHz with a 50MHz oscillator and it give me 38.377.882 or 0x02 0x49 0x99 0x9A.For given Synth values calculated by the GUI for given 915 MHz base frequency the calculated base frequency has respectively (synth 0x02 0x49 0x98 0x87 hex value ) 4.802 KHz and (synth 0x02 0x49 0x98 0xF8 hex value) 2.108 kHz offset. Is this a known issue, could it be a problem or is the
Hello, We are currently using the M41T62 RTC which is connected to a STWINKT1B board from ST along with the drivers meant to be used with M41T62(download page). We have been successfully able to use it to set a 1 min alarm with interruptions in repetitive mode. The same was possible with a 1-hour alarm with interruption. We followed the guidelines given for the TIMEKEEPER series application note that tells us to set RTP5, RTP4, RTP3, RTP2, and RTP1 to set the right repetitive alarms. The problem we have is that we are unable to set it for in-between durations such as 1 min or 30 mins or 5 mins. Can you help us out with this?/* Simple Test code */ M41T62_Date_st Date = { 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 }; M41T62_Time_st Time = { 0, 0, 0, 0 }; uint32_t rtcECntr = 0; uint32_t pre_rtcECntr = 0; M41T62_AF_State_et af = M41T62_AF_LOW; M41T62_Alarm_st alarm = { 0, 0, 0, 0, 10 }; int ret = BSP_ERROR_NONE; /* Check for I2C Device */ for (int i = 1; i <
We use the GNSS module Teseo LIV-3R, and we have questions about its capabilities. Why the TESEO-LIV3R GNSS module (Software Version 8.4.10.17) does not send$PSTMPSDATA messages (code 0x200000 in CDB-ID 201)? In this case, the module correctly sends $ PSTMCPU, $ PSTMTIM and others when they are called $PSTMSETPAR,1201,0x ...). After the $PSTMSETPAR command, the $PSTMSAVEPAR command is given.
Hello, I'm trying to upgrade the firware of the SPWF01S. In the upgrading manual it's says that I need a binary file to program the flash. I saw that the package was avaible in the following link, but now that page doesn't exists. From where can I download the requiered packages? Does anyone have them?Thank you.
In chat.c file api used already in CHAT_DeviceInit() function in BlueNRG2 is aci_hal_set_tx_power_level(1, 4); which will set transmit output power level to -2 dBm and while testing when i measured signal strength wrt app distance i was getting -80dBm at 3.16m ,if i am now setting it to +8dBm by using aci_hal_set_tx_power_level(1, 7); then that time also i am getting same readings .If transmit power is getting changed via this api then readings at different power level should be different. Also while debugging when i checked the return status of this api it is always returning 0 (ie BLE_STATUS_SUCCESS) so this means power level is getting changed but while taking readings for signal strength vs approx distance it was same for both. What is that i am missing?
Do I understand it correct? This device I can use like eSE by ISO 7816, yes? I want to use this device for create TLS connectivity. And use it for auth my MCU. Can I upload my own applets on that?Thank you for help!
I have 6 of these dev boards. one of them i bought before the other 5. for the later one the STEVAL -MKI205V1 dev board I'm trying to test is returning a "ERROR: The adapter board has not been recognized, the WHO_AM_I register value does not match the device selected." do you believe this is just due to the board being on my desk for the past week and somehow being damaged/broken? for the 5 other boards of the two that I have tested returned the following I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling unico and the required drivers. and attempted to use STM32 CubeProgrammer to update the dev board's firmware through USB but I haven't been able to get it to connect to the boards. does anyone have a potential fix to these issues?
