Posted on June 11, 2015 at 22:10Hi Gaetano, I'm currently working with the SPIRIT1 on a my own board. An external clock signal is used on XIN coming from my MCU (STM32F4) at 26 MHz. And the central frequency is set to 868.3 MHz. Sometimes, I get an error after a StrobeRX command. In this case, I read the status in order to understand what is going on.Here's what I get: MC_STATE: 0x28 XO_ON: 0x0 ERROR_LOCK: 0x1 I checked the external clock: it's ON and stable. Could you explain the meaning of this status ? Thanks in advance. Christopher #lock #state #xo #spirit1
Posted on June 15, 2015 at 15:20Unfortunately the data sheet can be evaluated as a minimum documentation for this chip. Is there any more information available e.g. for the DEVICE_INFO register, what the content is and could be and what it is telling ? #spirit1
Posted on June 15, 2015 at 12:34Is there a limitation/restriction of of the WEP key lengths in AP mode?Set password to 'test1': AT+S.SCFG=wifi_wep_keys[0],7465737431 AT+S.SCFG=wifi_wep_key_lens,05 This works OK. I can connect fine with WEP authentication. However trying : Set password to 'test11': AT+S.SCFG=wifi_wep_keys[0],746573743131 AT+S.SCFG=wifi_wep_key_lens,06 Doesn't work I can't connet to the access point? However, if I change key to 14 bytes, and wep ley length to '0D' it seems to works again? Can the length only be '05' or '0D'? Thanks in advance. (P.S. I am running 3.4 firmware).
Posted on June 11, 2015 at 12:22I am wanting to include the STW81200 into a new product design. I am looking for the schematic for the evaluation board that I think exists, but I am not able to find it.The specific information that I am looking for are the recommended values for the external components such as the supply decoupling capacitors, voltage regulators and the external RF interfaces. In addition any guidance on the design of the external loop filter would be appreciated.Regards #synthesiser #pll #analog
Posted on June 10, 2015 at 08:37Hello, i want to create a connection bettween three SPWF01SA an send data via TCP - socket to any other module. Is there a possibility to create something like that. The firmware is 150410-c2e37a3-SPWF01S. Thanks and best regards Pary
Posted on June 07, 2014 at 10:48I can get two BlueNRG boards connecting, one as Peripheral and one as Central, using the code in the BLE_Chat example. In this case the Central has to know in advace the address of the Peripheral. However, when I try to program my Central in a more realistic mode, asking it to scan for nearby Peripherals, I do not get any LE Advertising Report events. I have copied the sequence diagrams in the Bluetooth Specification, and tried both active and passive scanning. So I don't know whether I am sending the wrong commands to the BlueNRG, or whether the BlueNRG does not support Passive Scanning and Active Scanning. Can ST please provide example code, or a sequence of commands, for Active scanning? #advertising #scanning #bluenrg
Posted on June 01, 2015 at 04:19Hello,I've designed BTLE board with BlueNRG and STM32L152. After resetting BlueNRG, voltage at pin12 (VDD1V8) is not stable. It is observed that after every around 1.5 seconds BlueNRG SMPS turns on for a while and goes off. Can anybody explain what is the cause of this problem? Waveform at 1.8V pin is below for reference #jitendra
Posted on May 27, 2015 at 13:32Hello, i´m from Germany, therefore please apologize my mediocre english ;). I have some problems with the module SPWF01SA. I want to connect them both to each other. One SPWF01SA is configured in the MiniAP mode. The other one have to connect to this AP via Access point connection. The Problem is, every time the SPWF01SA will join to the other SPWF01SA (with MINIAP), the client module reboot an starts new. This ends in an continuous Loop. On both modules the Firmware SPWF01S-140805-3f58d6b-RELEASE-main is installed. It would be great if someone can help me. Posted on April 25, 2015 at 07:20HelloI need to update the firmware (need the 1 command the is in release 3.3)for the above module. I have contacted the local ST agent and have received the required programs and files for the upgrade (via usart)(SPWF01S Wi-Fi documentation package W48 - FW3.3)I run the FW_update.bat file and do what is required including (BOOT0 pin needs to be pulled high (3.3v))I always get a 'Initial ACK not received from module'' response error. Question: I run the serial port just with Rx,Tx and Gnd. Do I need RTS and CTS? Please note my serial comms can communicate with the module normally.
Posted on May 05, 2015 at 04:39Hello there, again,I am trying to query the MCU over WiFi module, using ajax GET requests sent by a browser. The idea is: upon detecting the ''+WIND:56:Insert message to client: '' response, MCU responds appropriately, and this cycle repeats itself periodically.I've noticed that a sizable number of GET requests is being rejected or there is no response, especially if the period between sending the requests is less than 500 ms.I should also say that every request from the browser is sent only after some kind of response from to the previous request, so it never happens that there is more than one pending request. With 750 ms between ajax requests, it works okay, but I was hoping to do better. What are your experiences regarding this type of communication, aka constant polling of input.cgi?P.S. I am using input.cgi and ouptut.cgi as means of communication and data exchange between the MCU and the browser, but if you feel there is a better way, do tell
Posted on May 13, 2015 at 12:42Hi,Which PA configuration parameters should I use in order to get the maximum output power on Spirit1 and which CWC (0 - 1.2 - 2.4 - 3.6 pF) bit field should be set for 868 MHz band?According to the datasheet the max output power is +11dBm or +16dBm for two different test condition. Then in the registers table it is +12 dBm for the PA_LEVEL_7. This is the highest level for the highest power. Which value should be set to POWER_DBM for max output power? I use 868MHz band with range extender. I perform the communication with GFSK_BT1 modulation at 115200 datarate. Best regards
Posted on April 17, 2015 at 22:20In AN4494, Bring up BlueNRG app note, both Chapter 8 and 9 mention thatSend a further command to determine the number of packets sent by the Tx board: HAL_LE_TX_TEST_PACKET_NUMBER What is the LE command above? Where can I find relevant code for it? I need it to get the actual number of TX packet sent for board RF tuning. I have code from DK1.6.0 for HCI_LE_TRANSMITTER_TEST, and HCI_LE_TEST_END . Thanks! Posted on May 05, 2015 at 17:22Hello,the Bluetooth Core Specification defines how the different HCI Command, HCI ACL Data and HCI Events are transported over rs232, USB and 3 wire Uart. There is no definition for SPI and unfortunately I was not able to find a way, how theBlueNRG could differentiate between and HCI Command and HCI ACL Data. How are HCI Commands Packages transported (I dont mean the framing as defined in Vol. 2 of the BL Spec. but as defined for Uart, USB, etc. in vol. 4 of the BL Spec)? But first things first: I want to use only the HCI layer of the BlueNRG. Ive tried to send the HCI_LE_Set_Event_Mask to the BlueNRG. First by sending a write header: 0x0A, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00. Doing so in a loop until the BlueNRG response with a header with the SPI READY indication and a write buffer size > 0. This is what I get after a couple of loops : 0x02, 0x00, 0x06, 0x00, 0x00. So there is room for 0x600 Bytes. Now I send the HCI_LE_Set_Event_Mask command as follo
Posted on May 08, 2015 at 17:19Hello, Please help me to clarify the following question: my device supports a several modes and I need set special connection parameters for each mode first mode - aci_l2cap_connection_parameter_update_request(handle, 6, 6, 0, 30) second mode - aci_l2cap_connection_parameter_update_request(handle, 6, 6, 0, 300) but I noticed that parameters are set only in the first call, after that the function returns 0 (success), but remain relevant parameters set for the first time. Thanks in advance, Andrei Kukenov
Posted on May 10, 2015 at 14:52Hello,the very first response I get when communicating with a BlueNRG is the following byte sequence: 0x4, 0xff, 0x3, 0x1, 0x0, 0x1If I get it right, I have to read it like this:0x04 == HCI Event Packet0xff == Event Code ->Vendor Specific0x03 == Parameter Total Length0x01, 0x00 == BlueNRG Event Code (ECODE) -> 0x00010x01 == Parameter, depends on what ECODE 0x0001 means. The Event Code 0x0001 has the event group ID of 0, so, this would be a HCI extension event. When I search UM1755 for this ECODE, I only find 4.7. HCI Vendor specific commands. According to the header and description, it looks like the heading of Table 253 is wrong and should be CGID, CID, OpCode. But what is ECODE 0x0001? Something internal that should be ignored?Kind regards,Torsten #bluenrg #aci #hci
Posted on May 04, 2015 at 18:06Hello,In Spirit1 datasheet, it states that data is encoded using Viterbi algorithm with R=1/2,K=4.Is there any tool, or source code available with Viterbi decoding(with the specific parameters) so that I can double check my results?Regards,Vagelis
Posted on April 29, 2015 at 09:26Hi,I'm trying to use custom socket with two SPWF01SA, but I'm having some troubles:-I can't find the documentation, to know how it works exactly-I have a creepy behavior once I try to send data from server to clientI have disabled the standard HTTP socket on port 80 (TCP) and I have set up my own on the same port. Then the server waits the WIND:61 indication (incoming socket) to send the following text through the UART: ''HTTP/1.1 200 OK - HTTP version as in GET\r\n''''Content-type: text/html\r\n''''Content-length:15\r\n''''\r\n''''<html>_|_<html>''I use the other SPWF01SA as a client and after a wi-fi association I use ''AT+S.HTTPGET=172.20.146.1,/index.html\r'' expecting the previous text, but instead I receive:''t-type: text/htmlersion as in GETContent-length:15htmlersion as in GETntent-length:15htmlersion as in GET<html>_|_<html>15htmlersion as in GET[1A][1A][1A]''Am I doing something wrong? And where can I
Posted on March 04, 2015 at 14:29I have had two boards/chips fail in the same way - one today and one a few weeks ago. Symptoms on both boards are identical: 1) Boards had been working correctly and failed in operation. No obvious damage caused to boards (e.g. by static discharge). 2) The BlueNRG chip no longer generates an IRQ in response to a reset. 3) The scope shows that the DC-DC PSU is running continuously, and the the 1.2V and 1.8V supplies are present. 4) No oscillation on either crystal. 5) If I read the first 5 bytes of the SPI buffer the data is always 02 00 00 00 It is as though the BlueNRG chips have had some internal firmware corruption. Has anyone else seen this? What could cause it? #bluenrg-dead #bluenrg-unresponsive
Posted on April 23, 2015 at 09:58Hi,I have a problem trying to exit data mode upon establishing the connection as the socket server. The problem is that the escape sequence is interpreted as yet another data chunk to be sent to the client. Increasing sockd_timeout variable didn't help. I tried with both default and custom escape sequences.I am simply unable to leave data mode! Some other things I noticed, which might be of help:- while in command mode, if I enter the current valid custom escape sequance (reported by examining escape_seq variable), I am greeted with the message ''ERROR: command not found''. On the other hand, if I enter default ''AT+S.'' sequence, I get the message saying data mode is unavailable. Is this behavior expected?- When I try to shut down the socket server, either before entering data mode (which I cannot leave), or after client disconnects (thus forcing the module back into command mode), hard fault always ensues.I am not sure what else to do. Any th
Posted on April 22, 2015 at 17:57Hello, I'm studying the schematics of the spirit1 eval kit at 169MHz (vers. 4). On the PA output filter, L3 is referred as L_TBD_0402. In the BOM, L3 appears as being a ceramic capacitor! Can you confirm this is normal? Thanks a lot, Nicolas
Posted on April 16, 2015 at 15:36Hi,I'd like to knwow how I can generate a ''Write Command'', opcode = 0x52, in the Attribute Protocol. So far I'm able to send a ''Write Request'', opcode = 0x12, using the Aci_Gatt_Write_Char_Descriptor (HCI = 0xFD21).What I need now is to send a ''Write Command opcode = 0x52'' in the Attribute Protocol.I could not figure out which ACi_xxx coammnd I should be using.Could you please help me on this one ?Thank you!
Posted on March 27, 2015 at 09:51I use SPWF01SC.11to send data to server (about 6KB every 4 minutes).I split data to 2 packages (3KB each package) then send to server by TCP Socket. But sometime 1 package is lost. Can anyone help me to solve this problem? My mail is mailto:khoatran@digisensor-co-ltd.com </span>Thank you.Tran Khoa.
Posted on April 12, 2015 at 19:19Is there a way to selectively remove one bonded device from the list of bonded devices? This would be equivalent to the ''Forget this device'' command provided in the iOS Bluetooth settings. I don't think there is such a command. It seems that we only have the option to ''Forget all devices'', which is not very user-friendly. Related questions: What is the maximum number of devices that can be bonded? What happens if you try to pair a new device when the list of bonded devices is full? The Aci_Gap_Get_Bonded_Devices command returns a list of the devices - the size of the buffer would seem to set a limit of (128 - 13)/7 = 16 devices, since any more would need a longer buffer. 16 bonded devices is at variance with the White List size of 64.
Posted on April 10, 2015 at 10:26Hello,I'm trying to get data from a remote sensor. The BTLE is master, role 2.I'm implementing the code right on top of the HCI layer.I'm able to connect to the sensor and retrieve the service and characteristic info, but I can't get the data linked to the characteristic.According to the manufacturer's doc, I need to register the notification for the characteristic. How can I do this ? What are the HCI commands I need? Here is the call flow I get:---> Connect (01 9c fc ...)<-- LE connection complete (04 3e 13 01 ...)---> Discovering service (01 12 fd ...)<-- GATT Read by group RS (04 ff 18 0a 0c ...)<-- GATT procedure complete (04 ff 06 10 ...)---> Discovering characteristic (01 15 fd ...)<-- GATT Read by type RS (04 ff 1b 06 0c 01 08 16 15 11 00 12 12 00 ...)<-- GATT procedure complete (04 ff 06 10 ...)At this point, I know service and characteristics and the UUIDs.I now need to get the data for this characteristic (the regi
