Posted on October 01, 2015 at 09:51Hi, I am broadcasting a small UDP packet once a second through the SPWF01 using AT+S.SOCKON=192.168.1.255,55555,u and AT+S.SOCKW and that appears to work just fine but if I access the SPWF01 web server at the same time to reload some web pages it often dies with a hard fault like this +WIND:8:Hard Fault:TCPIP: r0 2C303035, r1 00000300, r2 00000000, r3 0000FFFF, r12 2000867C, lr 08022E25, pc 08022E3A, psr 61000000 Or the module may just crash, reboot, etc. If I don't do the UDP broadcast, then the module appears reliable. This is very bad as I need to be able to do the UDP broadcast so clients can find the device. Cheers, Mark
Posted on October 05, 2015 at 11:21 My device is configured as a SERVER in an advertising mode. ret = aci_gap_set_discoverable(ADV_NONCONN_IND, 160, 160, PUBLIC_ADDR, NO_WHITE_LIST_USE, sizeof(local_name), local_name, 0, NULL, 0, 0); It sends an advertising beacon with a user data. if (bluenrg_tx_count > period) { bluenrg_tx_count = 0; ret = aci_gap_update_adv_data(sizeof(manuf_data), manuf_data); } The other side - CLIENT reads the data. What if I want to get some data on the SERVER side? Can I do it in the same pattern by getting the advertising data from the CLIEN or should I implement services and characteristics in it?
Posted on October 01, 2015 at 14:45 First I configure the module. void BLUENRG_Setup(void) { HCI_Init(); BlueNRG_RST(); Osal_MemCpy(bdaddr, SERVER_BDADDR, sizeof(SERVER_BDADDR)); /* Configure BlueNRG address as public (its public address is used) - MAC address of the device */ ret = aci_hal_write_config_data(CONFIG_DATA_PUBADDR_OFFSET, CONFIG_DATA_PUBADDR_LEN, bdaddr); if(ret){ /*PRINTF(''Setting BD_ADDR failed.\n''); */ } /* Init BlueNRG GATT layer */ ret = aci_gatt_init(); if(ret){ } /* Init BlueNRG GAP layer as peripheral */ ret = aci_gap_init(GAP_PERIPHERAL_ROLE, &service_handle, &dev_name_char_handle, &appearance_char_handle); if(ret != BLE_STATUS_SUCCESS){ } ret = aci_gatt_update_char_value(service_handle, dev_name_char_handle, 0, strlen(name), (uint8_t *)name); if(ret){ } ret = aci_gap_set_auth_requirement(MITM_PROTECTION_REQUIRED, OOB_AUTH_DATA_ABSENT, NULL, 7, 16, USE_FIXED_PIN_FOR_PAIRING, 123456, BONDING); if (ret == BLE_STATUS_SUC
Posted on September 28, 2015 at 11:32Goodmorning, We bought the STEVAL-IDW001V1 evaluation board and the STEVAL-PCC018V1 module to connect it to the pc; the STEVAL-IDW001V1 it's already updated to the last release FW 3.4.We need to receive some data from a smartphone on a microcontroller connected to the wifi module, the SPWF01SA shall be the server and it shall create a local network to which any smartphone (IOS, Android, Windows) can connect. The SPWF01SA should open a socket (UDP or TCP) on a port already defined and by our app the smartphone should send data to the module. The SPWF01SA should in turn send this data (max 10 byte) to the microcontroller via UART. The smartphone should recognize the network, connect to it, open the tansmission and send data.Is there a SPWF01SA configuration to do this? Is there also an example of instruction which will make thi configuration easier to me? #spwf01sa21
Posted on October 01, 2015 at 12:44Hai,I have configured SPWF01S wifi module as miniAP andI have connected STM32F7-Disco with SPWF01S through UART.I am sending the command AT+S.SOCKD = <port number> to the wifi module and it is ready for listening. Now I have connected my mac to the wifi module and I am sending a string to it.I would like to access the buffer where this string will be stored on the wifi module.Question.1. where the strings will be stored in the SPWF01S module during Transmit and Receive.2. How I can access it ? #spwf01s-wifi
Posted on May 12, 2015 at 11:08Hello,I want to use a BlueNRG as HCI device. Ive used the ACI Command Write_Config_Data to set a public address (0xaa, 0x00, 0x00, 0xE1, 0x80, 0x02). I use the HCI command LE Set Advertising Data Command and finally use the HCI command LE Set Advertise Enable Command. All that commands report successfully execution but when using a generic BLE Client (like BLExplr on iOS), I can not see any advertising Device. What am Im missing? I dont want to use the GATT/ATT stack of the BlueNRG, because I want to use BlueNRG to test my own GATT stack.Thank you for every tipp or comment on this.Cheers,Torsten #bluenrg-advertizing
Posted on October 01, 2015 at 11:52Hi there, i am running the BlueNRG with multiple services, such as a proximity service, a performance test service and an application service. The proximity service has 2 characteristics, the PerformanceTestService 3 and the AplicationService 13, where the last characteristic (message) is of type string with a variable size. The ApplicationService once run alone with the maximum string size. After adding another service, the BlueNRG responded with BLE_OUT_OF_MEMORY. I fixed this by reducing the maximum char value size of my ApplicationService's message characteristic to 128, but soon after adding the next service, the problem appeared again. I would like to know:Is there a GATT limitation on the board or a maximum GATT stacksize ? I have read the documentation, however I may have overread it. Thank you for your answers :) #bluenrg-ble-gatt
Posted on September 28, 2015 at 15:16Hi,I've been searching for an ST forum related to stw81200 (rf synthesizer), but can't find any. Does anyone know where to post? Thanks.
Posted on September 21, 2015 at 22:15Hello,I am facing similar issues with limited resources on higher data rates using notification packets of 20 bytes. Were you able to find a workaround for this ? Can someone from ST provide some insight on this?
Posted on September 18, 2015 at 09:16Hello Maurizio, first of all the answers:1) The way we can measure it can be getting:- a TX node with a TX signal output on GPIO - a RX node with a SYNC detected signal output on GPIO- a scopeThe time delay can be measured as the event when the last bit of sync is put on the air and the SYNC detected signal is asserted (propagation time of these signals in the silicon is almost negligible). Time between them is 13 bits time about.2) No. For sure the device must be in RX state3) Yes, it depends on the first word that matches one of the possible patterns admitted contemplating errors. So it is definitely not predictable.4) It is 13bits time. Anyway, we are talking about signals propagating at the speed of light (this means that we'd have ~3us for 1 km!).Even if You have an extremely fine timing measurement Your measure could be disturbed by ray scattering or by the jitter on the XTAL used to supply the RF (that is the clock reference fo
Posted on September 17, 2015 at 10:29Looking at the examples provided with X-NUCLEO-IDB04R1 I found it difficult to understand all the layers and protocols. If I want to establish connection with a device and send/receive some data - what function should I use? what files should I look? Is there a manual explaining how high level functions work and what functions I need to perform different tasks?
Posted on September 15, 2015 at 12:44Hi, I tried to connect to a wireless network, which do not broadcast its SSID, with the above mentioned module. I tried as usual: AT+S.SCAN AT+S.SSIDTXT=TestAP AT+S.SCFG=wifi_wpa_psk_text,Test123 AT+S.SCFG=wifi_priv_mode,2 AT+S.SCFG=wifi_mode,1 AT&W AT+CFUN=1 The response after the reset is just the scanning procedure...+WIND:2:Reset +WIND:1:Poweron (150410-c2e37a3-SPWF02S) +WIND:13:ST SPWF01SA2 IWM: Copyright (c) 2012-2014 STMicroelectronics... +WIND:3:Watchdog Running +WIND:46:WPA: Crunching PSK... +WIND:0:Console active +WIND:32:WiFi Hardware Started +WIND:21:WiFi Scanning +WIND:35:WiFi Scan Complete (0x0) Is there something I've to add to the configuration to get it done? Posted on September 14, 2015 at 14:34Hello,On the same topic, I'd like to have some clarifactions, seeing I have difficulties finding information on the different Stack mode (specially mode 3 & 4).Are the following configurations possible with BlueNRG-MS ?1) Device(BlueNRG-MS) connected to 1 master, advertising and scanning still active.2) Device(BlueNRG-MS) connected simultaneously to 2 masters, scanning still active (i.e. able to received advertising data from other devices)3) Device(BlueNRG-MS) connected simultaneously to 1 master and 1 slaveThank you
Posted on September 11, 2015 at 18:11Hello every, I would like to understand how SQI works into SPIRIT1 to evaluate if it can be used to calculate time of fligth (ToF) for distance measurement beween two end node.To have a best ToF measure SQI value must be directed connected on one GPIOx by internal multiplex to avoid any time delay for internal state machine and SYNC matching response.Questions are:1) How much is the time delay beween RX SYNC detection by SQI correlation and output on GPIO? 2) Is signal SQI response time affected by state machine status or not?3) If I set SQI_THR >0 mean that there is a jitter in the SQI response depending on how my bit are wrong in the incoming SYNC WORD packet?4) If I set SQI_THR = 0 how much is the delay between end of SYNC word and SQI assert on GPIO?Any response will be appreciate.Maurizio Brignoli #spirit1-sqi-response-time---tof
Posted on September 10, 2015 at 07:46Hi Salvatore, I faced same issue on BlueNRG-MS. I found LL_WITHOUT_HOST in UM1865, then I set 1 to LL_WITHOUT_HOST, after reset and before any other commands. However, I not yet got any ACL data. Please let me know any advice. Best regards, Hasegawa
Posted on September 08, 2015 at 15:52Hello,I'm trying to POST some JSON data to my server but it seems I'm having a problem because the post data is comma delimited just like the POST command arguments. I have already tried to escape the character with ''\,'' but it does not work. Is there a special escape character for using commas inside the data of a POST?Pat #http-post
Posted on August 31, 2015 at 19:13Hi everybody, I'm evaluating the SPWF01SA and I'm wondering if there is a minimum delay between messages useful to determine the end of a transmission, ex. between the response to a command and a following WIND? Thanks Paolo

Posted on August 25, 2015 at 08:59Hello, again, I perform a simple loop at one device configured WITHOUT LDCR mode and WITHOUT Timeout Mode, permanently /but not PERSISTENT/ stay on RX. At regular intervals /5sec/ SPIRIT going to transmit a packet of 50 bytes /Basic Protocol/. The other device receive that packet and whole system working, but at iregular intervals /20-30 min to couple of hours/ system stops working. At Device who transmit, I make a Loop like that: - Fill TX FIFO, then SABORT, then LOCKTX, then TX, and Set FlagTX on MCU. Then if FlagTX is 1, I poll IRQ[0] Reg at 0xfd at SPIRIT, and wait for TX sent Interrupt. If they appear, I'm going from Tx to RX /SABORT, then Lock RX, then RX/, of course I clear FlagTX on MCU, and stay waiting for next 5sec interval. When system stop working, I see that My FlagTX is ''1'', so I think, there is missed IRQ TXsent. Is that possible? And more generally, at the datasheet there is only a short description of IRQ's, but there is no descrip

Posted on March 04, 2015 at 18:14I have successfully configured my BlueNRG peripheral so it bonds with a Central (iPad running Lightblue) using Just Works association method (the Central asks permission to pair with the Perpheral). I can power off either or both device and when the Peripheral becomes discoverable again the Central can find it and connect to it (without asking permission to pair). I believe that I should be able to use Undirected Connectable mode rather than General Discoverable mode, but I am unsuccessful. I have done this: 1) after bonding with the Central I use BLUEHCI_GAP_CONFIGURE_WHITELIST which I expect will populate my whitelist with Central addresses in my security database. 2) When I next want to connect to the Central I call BLUEHCI_GAP_SET_UNDIRECTED with parameters WHITE_LIST_FOR_ALL and PUBLIC_ADDR. 3) the Peripheral appears in the device list of Lightblue on the Central. 4) I try to connect to the Peripheral on the Central but this does not
Posted on August 13, 2015 at 14:36Hey,I have a peculiar problem, one I didn't have before, and I am not sure how exactly I have produced it...I was refactoring my code, in which I am asking the module to start scanning for networks immediately upon the module initialization...To be more precise, I am waiting for the detection of WIND:0 and WIND:32 messages, and afterwards I send AT+S.SCAN<CR> command. Here's the thing: the module freezes. It stops being responsive to any command whatsoever the moment I send this SCAN command. Now, if I put the delay of ~5ms after the detection of above-mentioned WIND messages and before sending the SCAN command, it works well. Here's the complete procedure flow:(1) pull reset pin down ( to reset the module at the beginning)(2) wait 5ms(3) pull reset pin up(4) wait for WIND:0 and WIND:32 messages(5) (optionally) wait for additional 5ms(6) send AT+S.SCAN<CR>With (5) it works, without (5), it doesn't, the module stops responding completely.I hav
Posted on August 10, 2015 at 10:55Dear Community, I have generated RSA signed certificates using OpenSSL as described in application note AN4683. I also started a server using openssl command and the generated certificates as described on page 20 of AN4683. Then I used: AT+S.TLSCERT2=clean,all ->resppnse of WIFI module: OK AT+S.SETTIME=<seconds> ->resppnse of WIFI module: OK AT+S.TLSCERT=f_ca,<size><CR><data> ->resppnse of WIFI module: OK AT+S.TLSDOMAIN=f_domain,<server domain> ->resppnse of WIFI module: OK AT+S.SOCKON=<host-ip>,<port>,s,ind ->response of WIFI module: ERROR: Unable to load CA certificate Does anybody know what am I doing wrong? Thanks for you help, regards Michael! #tls-spwf01sa.11
Posted on August 11, 2015 at 09:26Reading the documentation, I see that in some instances the HTTP header is requied to be appending to the strat of the files to be served by the HTTP server. However it is not too clear which files requrie this. Am i right in thinking this done automatically for the files stored in the external file system - I assume when they are converted to the httpdfsupdate file? But not for the internal files? Thanks in advance... #spwf01sa #http
