Posted on April 20, 2017 at 20:16Hello, I have a Nucleo64-F401RE board paired with a IDB05A1 board, where I am communicating between them using SPI. Writing to the BlueNRG works as desired, I get the expected results, however, after reading from it once I do not get any further responses neither from writing nor reading.Code: https://pastebin.com/bL4BEZqr Relevant documentation: http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/user_manual/6d/a1/5b/6c/dc/ab/48/76/DM00162667.pdf/files/DM00162667.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00162667.pdf - Section 5 is the relevant one. This problem has been a troublesome one, not being able to solve it for over a week, help would be most welcome!#bluenrg-ms #stm32 #bluetooth #nucleo-f401 #idb05a1
Posted on February 09, 2017 at 10:32Hello,we are making MQTT client application that should connect to Amazon AWS server. But after my application sends:AT+S.SOCKON=XXXXXXXXXXXXXX.iot.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com,8883,s,ind<CR>I got an error:ERROR: Failed to resolve name<CR><LF>Temporary solution was to find real IP of server using whois in my console and put is instead of server address. Now i can connect but i want to use real server address in application if possible. Moreover, I'm sure that DNS address is correct because we are using time-d.nist.gov service to get current time/date without a problem.Maybe the address string is too long for module? (We are using latest firmware for SPWF01 that is available for download v3.5) 73HelloHan MQTTa2emqd0m2h8v13
Posted on May 02, 2016 at 19:56With a SPW01SA I'm able to connect to a server using anonymous negotiation, but I often get the following error trying to open a socket before it opens successfully:ERROR: SSL/TLS Error: Unable to connect (-330)Questions:Exactly what does (-330) indicate? Does it makes sense that I tend to see the error more often when there is a lot of traffic on the server? A co-worker thought that the problem may be that I don't have the wi-fi authenticating the server's certificate. If that was the problem, I shouldn't ever be able to open a socket to the server using anonymous negotiation, right?I tried one-way authentication, but I get this error: ''ERROR: SSL/TLS Error: Unable to connect (-322).'' Could that be because I'm specifying the wrong domain in the command AT+S.TLSDOMAIN=f_domain,<server domain>? The certificate was created from godaddy so I used godaddy.com (and ca.godaddy.com, certs.godaddy.com, etc) in place of <server domain>, but I a
Posted on April 04, 2017 at 11:12Hello,I have a problem with SPWF01 middleware, when i try to read more than 512bytes form socket. I'm pretty sure that Process_Buffer() function hangs somewhere and never actually reads more than 512 bytes. Project is using library X-CUBE-WIFI1 version 2.0.0...Is this known bug already solved in new version or is it a bug in my code? I can try to replace library with up to date version (3.0.1), but i need to be sure that will solve the problem. Thanks in advance,Nebojsa57
Posted on January 21, 2016 at 13:31Hi, I have the following boards STEVAL-IDB002V1 & STEVAL-IDB003V1 USB dongle (Both supporting BlueNRG chip alone). Out of these boards, 1 is configured as Peripheral role and another is configured to Central role with Mode 2 as default option. When I do the scanning through the Central device, I am able to observe that only the peripheral device is getting listed even though there are other BT devices outside which also are peripheral devices. If I scan through my mobile supporting BT BLE4.0 and above, all the devices including the STEVAL peripheral devices is getting detected. 1.Is it an expected behaviour of the ST EVAL board which is running in Central Mode? 2.Is there a possiblity to scan other devices too as performed in mobiles? If required, I can send the screenshots of the scanned device lists? Could someone help me out in this regards as I am very new to this work? Regards, Ratheesh
Posted on March 22, 2017 at 13:09Hi.I'm trying to use SPWF01SA for connectivity on my discovery board. I've integrated the parts from the SDK extension and now having issues communicating with the HW. I suspect that my connections are not OK. - I've connected it to usart 6 (+cts&rts signals) (pins 6, 8, 9, 10 according to X-NUCLEO-IDW01M1 - Schematic)- Reset(3) and boot0(2) (which I assume is the Wifi wakeup)- I've also connected Vdd (24) and both GND:s (24 and 25).I can see that the reset line toggles OK, and there activity on the uart control signal. However the Wifi chip never ansvers.Do I need to connect any of the other pins? Do I need to connect them? Would it be possible to get any documentation about the integration? I mean the 'AN4886 - Wi-Fi module integration design guidelines' in the SAWF01SA page doesn't even have pin out list :O.As separate note is there any documentation how to use that SPI? Would it be possible to get more bandwidth via SPI vs the UART.Thanks in ad
Posted on April 11, 2017 at 15:57Hi.I'm trying to communicate with api.amazon over SPWFSA01. Amazon requires secure communication, so I'm trying to put amazon approved certificate (got it from here: https://www.amazontrust.com/repository/ ). However I now got 'ERROR: Unable to load CA certificate' as I try to open the socket. Am I totally wrong here and should I generate the certificate by myself? I mean I understood from what I've read here and amazon that I should use amazon approved keys in the client side?Whole trace of the situation:+WIND:1:Poweron (170111-665d284-SPWF01S)+WIND:13:ST SPWF01SA1 IWM: Copyright (c) 2012-2016 STMicroelectronics, Inc. Posted on October 13, 2015 at 10:31Hi,i'm using the SPWF01SA with high baud rates (460k or 920k) and continuous transmission at maximum speed. From time to time (minutes for 460k, all the time for 920k), data sent via UART is not transmitted via WIFI. It is always a multiple of 2kiB that is lost. RTS/CTS is working fine (see attached picture; upper channel is RX, lower channel RTS (both at WIFI-module)). Firmware should be up-to-date; at least I can use ADC command. Thanks for your help,Georg

Posted on April 04, 2017 at 11:46Hi,I'm currently using a bluenerg_ms module; i've managed to make it work in slave and master mode (separately), and i'm now trying to wrap my head around the master&slave simultaneous mode. What i currently do is to create a connection to a slave using the create_connection function, with this parameters:aci_gap_create_connection(0x0010, 0x0010, STATIC_RANDOM_ADDR, slaveAddr, STATIC_RANDOM_ADDR, 0x36, 0x36, 0x00, 0xC80, 0x000C, 0x000C)This procedure seems to work fine, the connection is established and the slave stops advertising (i can't see the slave device anymore using my phone). I then try to start an advertising procedure using the master&slave module, with these parameters:aci_gap_set_discoverable(ADV_IND, 0x20, 0x100, STATIC_RANDOM_ADDR,NO_WHITE_LIST_USE, strlen(BLE_name) + 1, local_name, 0, NULL, 0xFFFF, 0xFFFF)This function returns 0 (which i think is 'OK'), but i can't see the master&slave device using my phone. If i do the same
Posted on April 04, 2017 at 12:11Hi,I'm using the BlueNrg-1 evaluation board. Built the chat application server mode.Added BlueNrg_sleep() to the main loop.Checking the current at JP4, I'm getting about 160uA-250uA current during advertising and connected mode. The current should be much lower, no?Am I doing something wrong? Is there some configuration to change to reduce this current? Thanks, Isak.
Posted on March 31, 2017 at 10:32Hi All,I am running BLE central and peripheral profile applications on Mentor Graphics Nucleus RTOS using two STM32 MCUs interfaced with BlueNRG-MS modules. BlueNRG-MS firmware version is 7.2a, STSW-BLUENRG-DK version is 2.01 and profile libraries have been used from OSXSmartConnPS package (V1.5.0). The problem is that when I try to connect master and slave using any method for Temporary Key Calculation, the pairing fails and packets are not encrypted when seen from Wireshark logs while the same applications pair successfully when run in bare metal environment using NUCLEO-L476RG and X-NUCLEO-IDB04A1 BlueNRG expansion board. The Wireshark logs for both the cases are attached. Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.Security parameters on central and peripheral sides used for pairing are as following::::PERIPHERAL SECURITY SETTINGS:::ioCapability = NO_INPUT_NO_OUTPUT;mitm_mode = MITM_PROTECTION_REQUIRED;bonding_m

Posted on March 31, 2017 at 13:29Hi All, I need to send information using the uart of my SPWF01SA wifi module. I have seen that uI need to use the signal TXD1 but i dont know if it is possible send data to this signal using http.I have made some test using the remote.html to send data to a ping to turn on a led and it is working correctlyhttp://192.168.2.76/remote.cgi?OpName=WRITE&Number=6&Value=12548512121&set=GO%21 It is possible to send data to the UART using http ?#uart #spwf01sa
Posted on March 30, 2017 at 18:34I am communicating with the BlueNRG-MS over SPI using an ST eval board with an F1 micro. I am able to send data over the MOSI line and receive the 0x2 ready data as shown in the attached image. I am having issues with receiving data from the BlueNRG-MS device. When I send a read command in the header, I only get the 0x2 on the MISO line.Does the BlueNRG-MS component need a certain firmware loaded to enable it to set the IRQ line high when it has data to send? It is currently running with v7.2c. (details also attached below) I am curious to know how the IRQ line is set high.Thank you,cod
Posted on March 28, 2017 at 17:17Is it possible to connect an external eeprom to the SPWF01SA.21 module? The stored eeprom data will be very small >1K and only serve to remember GPIO high or low settings of the modules STM32F103 core that an end user will periodically set if the module loses power. Which interface? I2C, SPI, GPIO, Serial?
Posted on February 24, 2017 at 07:37Hi, I am new to ST-Bluetooth. I have experience in TI LPRF and planning to do something in BlueNRG-1, because of TI background I have few questions! TI BLE stack is based on IAR/CCS IDEs, for ST stack what is the IDE/Compiler I need to install?Whether we get any control over application source code, or it’s like a GUI configuration? Something like you can set the BLE frame from the GUI and GUI make the whole project for you?Whether ST providing any GUI/Tool for radio characterization of their RF products? (Like smrtRFStudio from TI)What is the stack size and what left for application code (memory)? How many profile samples code you provide?
Posted on March 31, 2017 at 02:45I purchased IPM for my degree project with parts number: STGIPS20C60 and it is connected with the PWM and the IPM is not working . I want to test the IPM any idea how to test if the ipm is working or not.
Posted on March 17, 2017 at 15:49i'm using the STM32L053R8 (nucleo_board) with SPWF01SC wifi expansion module. i run some examples from STM32CubeExpansion_WIFI1_V2.1.1 code but only using drag and drop file.bin on Nucleo drive. if i open project (Wifi_VCOM) with keil, compile/link is ok, load is ok but when i run, the program is locked in instruction:printf('\r\n\n/********************************************************\n');i tried to remove define USART_PRINT_MSG but locked again. I don't know what is the problem?Thanks#en.x-cube-wifi1_firmware-+-spwf01sc #spwf01sc
Posted on February 28, 2017 at 16:19Hi,I am working on Sensortile kit with the BlueNRG-MS radio. As per ST document PM0237 section 3.3, pg 55/99, following commands are used to add custom service to BLE device : //Add the service with service_uuid 128bits UUIDaci_gatt_add_serv(UUID_TYPE_128, service_uuid, PRIMARY_SERVICE,7,&ServHandle);//Add the characteristic with charUuid_1 128bits UUIDaci_gatt_add_char(ServHandle, UUID_TYPE_128, charUuid_1, 20,CHAR_PROP_NOTIFY, ATTR_PERMISSION_NONE, 0,16, 1, &CharHandle_1);//Add the characteristic with charUuid_2 128bits UUIDaci_gatt_add_char(ServHandle, UUID_TYPE_128, charUuid_2, 20,CHAR_PROP_WRITE|CHAR_PROP_WRITE_WITHOUT_RESP, ATTR_PERMISSION_NONE,GATT_NOTIFY_ATTRIBUTE_WRITE,16, 1, &CharHandle_2);In above 7 indicates the maximum number of attribute records that can be added to this service. However, as per my understanding BlueNRG-MS always adds 6 mandatory attribute records in any custom service. So for above example, the maximum numb
Posted on March 23, 2017 at 17:03Hello everybody,I have the STEVAL-IKR001Vx evaluation kit and the SDK-2.0.1 and SDK-2.2.0. I have been trying to work with the GenericBasic_A and B. Both files compiled without any error in IAR and Keil v4. However, nothing was happening after downloading the firmware onto the board as indicated in the readme.txt. I noticed that the whole SDK was configured for three evaluation kits (STEVAL-IKR001Vx, STEVAL-IDS001Vx and STEVAL-IKR001Vx). Do I need to specify the type of evaluation board before performing the compilation? if yes, where can I do that?Thanks.#spirit1-wmbus
