Posted on December 14, 2016 at 07:57 I'm using the STM32F411RE board with the IDW01M1 WiFi expansion module. I run some examples from en.x-cube-wifi1_firmware.zip lib. However, all example code I run always fail during the wifi_init()--> wifi_reset() call where it just hangs in this while loop: while(IO_status_flag.WiFi_WIND_State.WiFiHWStarted != WIFI_TRUE) { __NOP(); //nothing to do } but WiFiHWStarted never gets set to WIFI_TRUE. Maybe i dismissed some wiring conncetions (the expantion connected via wires to eval board)? I have JP3 set in the 1-2 position (which it is). I also have JP4 set in the 1-2 position. I have connceted 3.3v to CN7 pins 12& Thanks, Note: this post was migrated and contained many threaded conversations, some content may be missing.
Posted on November 16, 2017 at 13:55Hello,I am trying to contact someone from ST developers who is responsible for writing SPBT3.0 data package firmware. There are two features that could be very great to add:1) SPBT3 Module to transmit BREAK character over UART to MCU when it switches from bypass mode to command mode by itself. I.e. when connection is broken by remote device over bluetooth (unexpectedly). It allows host MCU to monitor link status without using additional input pin (link active) and handle UART traffic appropriatelly.Break character is easily designated from normal characters on the host MCU side. This feature could be activated by some additional configuration variable.2) Customized SDP record to hide SPP profile. This is great for designs that do not use COM port API on Windows etc, but use Pairing/RFCOMM connection API directly. We use this approach on Windows/Android and it is greatly compatible over many stacks (MS, Toshiba

Posted on November 04, 2017 at 19:07Hi I received 2 of this kit, and I ran some basic tests - works really fine!I am trying to use S2-LP in wm-bus solution for my project. I have a question regarding redudcing the capacitors/inductors count on the PCB : is there any chance to use balun (say with a freq range of 850MHz ~ 915MHz (https://cdn.anaren.com/product-documents/Xinger/BalunTransformers/B0809J50ATI/B0809J50ATI_DataSheet(Rev_A).pdf) ? And if yes, how would that change the circuit ? Thanks in advance!!Silas#s2-lp

Posted on November 15, 2017 at 19:45We're using the SPWF04SA and trying to connect to various SSL sites. Some work while others don't. We used the steps outlined in AN4963 for retrieving the certificates, all done in DER encoded binary X.509 format. We get the same results whether we use SOCKON or HTTPGET in every case. All sites work fine using regular http over port 80, though the returned data is sometimes empty because the site does a redirect to the SSL version. ssllabs.com was also used to get some information on the certificates.Using the following commands, and the given subject key ID for the certificate, connecting to meta.stackexchange.com works fine:SubjectKeyId: B1:3E:C3:69:03:F8:BF:47:01:D4:98:26:1A:08:02:EF:63:64:2B:C3AT+S.TLSCERT=content,2<cr>AT+S.TLSCERT=ca,969<cr><data>AT+S.HTTPGET=meta.stackexchange.com,/,443,2,,,,<cr>However, attempting to do the same to ghi-test-iot.azure-devices.net fails with the errors below:SubjectKeyId: E5:9D:59:30:82:

Posted on November 14, 2017 at 14:52I've seen a few posts on issues with the SPI interface to the SPWF04 WiFi module, and from the past weeks experience have yet to get any of the examples supplied with the middle ware to actually work with SPI.Eventually I want to use it with a STM32F7 processor but as there were no examples I bought a SRM32L476 Nucleo board so I could use the examples straight from the supplier unchanged.Using the UART I got the Client Socket example to work quite quickly, but the SPI just hangs and the data I see at the PC is missing the first block that was supposedly written.looking through the middleware SPI code there are many commented out 'debug' sections which were obviously used during development and a few worrying comments to put in random delays to get things to work.So as you don't often see messages from users who got it working I'm trying to see if there are a great majority out there or is everyone using the slower UART interface method? Is the SPI ve
Posted on November 14, 2017 at 17:18Hi,What processor does the BlueNRG-1 use? I would like to create a project from scratch and add the relevant files and libraries as I go.I think it might be the STM32L152XE(?) but would definitelyt like confirmation.I should be getting development kit shortly so I may be able to work it out from connecting to that.ThanksPatrick#bluenrg-1

Posted on October 17, 2016 at 10:59Hi, I am working on win10 using the STEVAL-IDW001V1 Evaluation module. Application development has been fine, but now I would like to update the firmware to the latest to use the extra features. I have tried both the UART bootloader method and the AT command OTA using Apache server and both have their own problems. I reverted to trying the UART method because I could not get the OTA method to work. OTA Method - I am not able to tell whether my module is *.11 or *.21 1. Connect module to Wifi network 2. Start Apache 2.4 server on PC (also connected to same network) 3. Confirm server running by opening browser 127.0.0.1 4. Place .ota file in htdocs folder of the server 5. Use AT+S.FWUPDATE=127.0.0.1,/SPWF01S-160129-c5bf5ce-RELEASE-main.ota What returns is: ERROR: connect() failed, aborting<CR><LF> UART Method 1. Place J4 so BOOT 0 is high. 2. HW reset the module 3. Run the FW_update.bat 4. I make the on screen selection
Posted on November 07, 2017 at 11:14 Dear all, I try to connectSPWF04S toa WPA2 network of my company and I have problem with static IP. The IT guys make a reservation for the module with a specific ip address based onSPWF04S MAC address. When I try to connect the server give to the module a different IP address every time because the MAC address that the module send to the server is very strange as you can see in the picture (the last column is the mac address): How I can fix this issue? Usualy, the AT commands that I send is: at+s.wifi=0 at+s.ssidtxt=networkname at+s.scfg=wifi_wpa_psk_text,networkpassword at+s.scfg=wifi_priv_mode,2 at+s.scfg=wifi_mode,1 at&w at+s.wifi=1??????? Posted on November 09, 2017 at 12:45Hello,I have downloaded STM32CubeExpansion_BLE1_V3.2.0 and loaded DMALowPower_App as server on my nucleo board (NUCLEO-L073) that is compatible with L052. Then, with my phone and the 'STM32 BLE Profile App' application, i was able to see my blueNRG device. But when i power down and power up my board again, i wasn't able to see my device anymore. I tried with another board, and this is the same thing at second startup. tried to update the firmware of the chip but it didn't change anything.Do you think it could come from my phone (that is a cheap chinese Archos phone)Best regards,Aurlien#ble #stm32 #nucleo #bluenrg #idb05a1

Posted on November 06, 2017 at 13:06Hi,I am trying to test SPBTLE-1 with this evaluation board. I am using an STM32 Nucleo board as external ST-Link with the setup specified in user manual (DocID030830) linked below and BlueNRG-1 ST-LINK Utility software. When I connect the system via USB to my pc (usb dongle of the Nucleo board) I get the following reports: FAIL.TXT: 'The interface firmware FAILED to reset/halt the target MCU' DETAILS.TXT: 'Version 0221'When I try to use ST-Link utility I get 'No target connected'I have no problem for program the Nucleo board using STM32 ST-Link Utility.Any advice?User manual (setup at page 22):https://my.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/user_manual/group0/28/76/a9/ea/c3/20/4e/fb/DM00411757/files/DM00411757.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00411757.pdf)
Posted on November 06, 2017 at 11:15Good morning, is there any specific PC software application that can be used with SensorTile kit instead of the Mobile application? My point is to have the same features that can be performed form my labtop instead of the mobile.
Posted on October 06, 2017 at 12:14Hi,I am using the SPBTLE-rf bluetooth module to create a device that advertises for connections and once connected will present a number of characteristics and services.Essentially almost all of it is working as I would expect. I have created services and characteristics for most of the attributes I need to convey. The sticking point is when I exceed 60 attributes. So I have three services and 28 characteristics. Two of the characteristics have three attributes (because they use notifications) and the rest use two. There is also an attribute for each service. This brings me to a grand total of 61 attributes. When I run the code I obtain an error when trying to create all the attributes on the module. If I remove one characteristic (i.e. two attributes) the code runs and generates the characteristics and services without error. Does anyone know why there is a limit of 60 (I assume it is a memory limitation) and is there any way of increasing th
Posted on March 29, 2017 at 14:26As i understand the programming manual section about bonding on BlueNrg-MS devices, encryption keys are stored in the security database in order to resolve addresses, and encrypt future data connections. This all seems to work as expected, but it is unclear to me how to manage the security database over time, when a number of devices is expected to pair to the device during its lifetimeHow many different bonding devices can the security database handle, and what is expected to happen when the database is filled up ? I am aware of the aci_gap_clear_security_database api, but as this clears all paired devices I would like to avoid calling thisunless needed.\Anders
Posted on November 07, 2017 at 18:30Hi I am working on new application based on ST BLE + STM32 controller . For proto development I am using NUCLEO-F030R8 & X-NUCLEO-IDB05A1 eval board. I want to control speed of a DC motor (controling PWM) through BLE using Smart phone. Pls advise how to do this. Which app should i use for this. Can i use BlueMs app. How about Blue Explorer App (IOS App).
Posted on November 02, 2017 at 10:01I have a little problem with BlueNRG-1 chip. I want that the first time I pair my phone with the BlueNRG-1 Testboard. When I switch off bluetooth on my phone (iPhone) and the switch on, I want that my phone connects automatically to my BlueNRG-1 Testboard (like headphones). But this doesnt work. The pairing process works well (first I get the event 'hci_le_connection_complete_event' and after the confirmation on my phone I get the event 'aci_gap_pairing_complete_event') but when I reconnect bluetooth the board goes always in the advertising mode and I dont know why.If the BlueNRG-1 needs to be configured or must the phone make sure that an automatic connection has been established?#bluenrg-1-automatic-connection-after-pairing
Posted on May 17, 2017 at 14:28I am trying to send data from the browser to the module using POST request with output_demo.html. The POST request is limited to 64 bytes, so I cannot send more than 64 bytes with a POST...If I send 65 bytes, the last byte is truncated and only 64 bytes are delivered by the module. Is this a limitation of the module? Can be the number of bytes increased? 64 bytes for a POST are not enough...I send this from browser : Output=SetNetSet{6;1;0;2;1;0;172.10.20.1;123456789012345;123456789012345678}There are 68 bytes of data in the above request. The module outputs this on uart console: +WIND:57:Output from remote:64:SetNetSet{6;1;0;2;1;0;172.10.20.1;123456789012345;123456789012345The module outputs only 64 bytes, but the request contains 68 bytes...Thanks
Posted on November 01, 2017 at 14:00Hello,I am using two bluenrg-1 devices, one of them working as a slave and other working as a master. I would like to know if there is any example I can use where the white_list is used or if anyone can give me some ideas. What I am doing now is on the central side, when the slave is advertising (ADV_IND) and the master received the hci_le_advertising_report_event() I will get the Address and type address and add the information of that device using the function aci_gap_add_devices_to_resolving_list().Once I have added the device I will start creating the connection using the function aci_gap_start_general_connection_establish_proc().Is that procedure correct or should I do it in a different way?Thank you
Posted on September 22, 2017 at 20:40Hello,I use SPWF01SA on IDW01M1 board with stm32l476rg. This setup worked correctly until I updated static httpd filesystem via at+s.httpdfsupdate.
