Hello, I am currently working on making some code for the STM32MPU257F-EV1 on Cube IDE, Specifically version 1.16. I have my code building with no errors and I am able to enter debug mode. However when I try to run the code I get the following error:Error in final launch sequence: Failed to execute MI command:monitor haltError message from debugger back end:Protocol error with RcmdFailed to execute MI command:monitor haltError message from debugger back end:Protocol error with RcmdFailed to execute MI command:monitor haltError message from debugger back end:Protocol error with RcmdProtocol error with Rcmd I am unsure how to fix this as I have found no resources online addressing this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Moved from MCU to MPU sectionI am searching for an option to read the Device Id Register from STM32MP133 using STM32_Programmer_CLI via USB.--upload is not supporteds for STM32MP-regdump command is only available with JTAG/SWD-r32 0x1FFFF7E8 3 failes Any idea?
Hey in stm32mp1 Im learning about yocto and build root ... So should the micro sd be flashed in the starting , or only the sd.img generated after the generation of the linux image ? for using it ? (Im a complete newbie to this..)

Hi everyone, I made it past the bootloader stages but am now running into errors with starting the Linux kernel. I have an eMMC and SD card but I am trying to only use the SD card for now. I have completely removed the eMMC from device tree and removed the machine.conf settings so eMMC should not be used. When I get to the Linux kernel boot I get stuck at: [ 5.630620] Waiting for root device PARTUUID=e91c4e10-16e6-4c0e-bd0e-77becf4a3582... Master: I've been learning stm32mp157 recently, and I've encountered some problems with less detailed attribute descriptions in the yaml documentation of mp157 in the linux directory, and I want to understand their usage clearly. For example, the clocks property in the stm32-pinctrl.yaml file does not specify how its property values are composed, only the example: clocks = <&rcc 0 STM32F4_AHB1_CLOCK(GPIOA)>; I don't know what these property values (like the second parameter 0) mean, the link provided by the documentation:$id: http://devicetree.org/schemas/pinctrl/st,stm32-pinctrl.yaml#$schema: http://devicetree.org/meta-schemas/core.yaml#The relevant documentation information could not be found, So where can I get a detailed documentation? Thank you!
Hi everyone, I am trying to boot up a custom PCB using the STM32MP131D, however I am running into an error during OPTEE. I have attached the optee dts and also a debug log of OPTEE during boot. I confirmed that sdmmc1_io, sdmmc2_io, and cpu0_opp_table were in final dtb file used for optee-os-stm32mp, however something is not quite right. If someone could point me in the right direction that'd be greatly appreciated, thank you. I'm pleased to share stm32mp-sign-tool with the community : It is a lightweight open-source alternative to STM32_SigningTool_CLI that does not require the full STM32CubeProgrammer installation and dependencies. GitHub Repository: https://github.com/embetrix/stm32mp-sign-tool
Hi All.Our target, using the STM32MP153c, shall boot secure. The signing private keys should not be accessible via the filesystem. The secure boot signing is implemented with development keys within yocto at moment. Moving to productive environment will need to use the private secrets from a smart card in a kind of after-yocto signing script.Currently all private keys used to sign images are in files on filesystem. To sign the TF-A the STM32MP_SigningTool_CLI seems to be feasible of using a secret provided via smartcard, but how to achieve this with the create_cert and/or fiptool for signing the fip image? Especially as the STM32MP_SigningTool_CLI and fiptool should use the same private key. (from my expectation because there is only one public key hash in OTP used to verify the signatures by bootrom and tf-a).At moment I do not see any other solution then having the private key in filesystem what is not useable in our productive environment. Please hint how to sign the fip image with
Hello everyone,We are currently using the v5.15-stm32mp-r2 kernel for our EV charging system and have decided to upgrade to v6.1-stm32mp-r2 for its long-term support. I successfully compiled the v6.1-stm32mp-r2 kernel using Buildroot by replacing the kernel tarball. During the process, I fixed issues in the device tree source (DTS) file, including sram and clock references. After resolving these, I was able to compile the final image. However, when I flash the image onto the STM32MP157C, the boot process halts at the message "Starting kernel..." with no further logs. This suggests the kernel is crashing early in the boot process.I suspect the changes I made shouldn’t cause such a critical failure, but debugging is difficult without any output. I am trying to enable early printk for more insight into the kernel’s initialization, but I am struggling to get it working. I am considering adding log traces to the start_kernel function as a next step. For now, I have not replaced U-Boot or made
Dear ST Team,I'm considering purchasing a microSD card for the STM32MP157F-DK2 development board, but I want to ensure compatibility before buying. The documentation mentions support for SanDisk Class 10 and UHS Speed Class 1 cards but doesn’t specify the maximum supported capacity. I know the board supports SDHC and SDXC standards, so theoretically, it should handle up to 2 TB (per the SDXC specification). Here are my questions:Has anyone successfully used a 256 GB microSD card (e.g., SanDisk SDSQUAC-256G-GN6MA Ultra 256GB UHS-I Class 10) with this board? Are there any practical limitations or known issues when using SDXC cards with capacities above 128 GB?Does the STM32MP157F-DK2 fully support exFAT, or is additional configuration required?Any insights or experiences with high-capacity microSD cards on this board would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!Zapsis Symeon
Hello everyone,I’m working with an STM32MP157-DK2 board and want to increase the size of the rootfs partition to 10GB.I followed the instructions from the https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MPU_Distribution_Package to create the image. However, I haven’t been able to find a working solution to resize the rootfs partition.Here’s the current space information from my board:root@stm32mp1:~# df -hFilesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted ondevtmpfs 124M 0 124M 0% /dev/dev/mmcblk0p10 3.8G 989M 2.6G 28% /tmpfs 194M 0 194M 0% /dev/shmtmpfs 78M 8.8M 69M 12% /runtmpfs 194M 4.0K 194M 1% /tmp/dev/mmcblk0p8 55M 22M 30M 43% /boot/dev/mmcblk0p9 14M 6.7M 6.0M 53% /vendor/dev/mmcblk0p11 220G 47M 208G 1% /usr/localtmpfs 194M 20K 194M 1% /var/volatiletmpfs 39M 8.0K 39M 1% /run/user/1000tmpfs 39M 4.0K 39M 1% /run/user/0I’ve come across some forum discussions, but none of the suggested solutions have worked for me.Could someone please provide clear instructions to resize the rootfs partition to 10GB?Wha
HelloI am currently working on the STM32P157 to RTL8211F-CG connection diagram using the RGMII interface. Since Realtek does not provide much documentation such as application notes, I used the MB1272C as a reference design. By the way, thanks for sharing. In the mentioned reference design, pin 36 (XTALL_IN) of the RTL8211F-CG is connected via a 22R resistor to port PB5 (ETH_CLK) of the STM32P157 processor. However, in AN5031, on page 74 (Figure 47), ETH_CLK is connected to pin 37 (XTALL_OUT) of the RTL8211F(I)-CG. Also in RM0436 on page 503 in Table 49, ETH_CLK is as a clock output for the Ethernet PHY. However, in the RTL8211F-CG note, pin 37 is described as XTAL_OUT/EXT_CLK, theoretically a clock input, but the pin is marked as output.I am a bit confused, did I miss something? I do not know now whether I should connect the ETH_CLK output to XTALL_IN or XTALL_OUT, common sense tells me that the output is connected to the input, but...Thanks for any sugestions.
Hello everyone,I'm new to the STM32 and Linux environment and have a question.I am using the STM32MP157d-dk1 and have been following the getting started guide(see : https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP1_boards/STM32MP157x-DK2/Develop_on_Arm%C2%AE_Cortex%C2%AE-A7/Create_a_simple_hello-world_application ) and how to cross-compile with Developer-Package ( see : https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_cross-compile_with_the_Developer_Package#Adding_a_.22hello_world.22_user_space_example ) and it all works fine. But I'd like to know how to do the same thing but using a .py file instead of .c file from my host machine as i want to mainly use python for my development. Thanks for your assistance.Regards.

Hi everyone,I've designed a custom board using the STM32MP157. Rather than using an ST-Link, I'm planning to flash the code using DFU mode. To do this, I've installed STM32CubeProgrammer on my PC and connected the USB cable to the board. However, CubeProgrammer isn't detecting the STM32MP157, even though I've configured the BOOT pins for DFU mode.I'm wondering if I'm missing something. Can anyone guide on this issue?
I am doing with stm32mp157f-dk2 i got succeed with understanding a bit about openstlinux stuffsSo i can do with firmware, user space application debugging with my ide but I wonder can i fetch dti from my distribution package or developer pacage's source file and that make change cubemx setting? i know reverse i means it works in sane way like make dti with cubeide and send it to my source folder but i wonder is it work in reverse way

Dear ST Community, I am experiencing issues while attempting to connect my STM32MP1 to a Wi-Fi network using the steps outlined in the official tutorial: How to setup a WLAN connection. The specific issues are as follows:IPv6 connection but no network access: After following all the steps in the tutorial, the wlan0 interface connects successfully, but only obtains an IPv6 address. However, I cannot access the network or perform any connectivity tests.Manual IPv4 configuration required: To gain access to the network, I have to manually set a static IPv4 address on wlan0, along with the default gateway to the router. Once this is done, I can connect to the internet without issues.dhclient command not working: I attempted to obtain an IPv4 address automatically using dhclient, but the command is not available on my system. I saw some forum responses with this command but is not recognised in my board. This raises concerns about whether the tutorial might be outdated or if there’s a mi

Hello,I am a newcomer to embedded systems. I have a STM32MP157D-DK1 and I'm planning to develop some python applications to run on the A7 processor. I am encountering some issues.1. I created a simple web application using Python on Ubuntu. (python module: Flask)2. I confirmed that it can be executed successfully.3. I bundled it into a single executable file using pyinstaller (PC $> pyinstaller app.py --onefile).4. I verified that the executable file can be used properly.5. I transferred the file to an STM32 (starter kit).6. When I tried to execute the file, an error occurred.Error Message:./app: line 1: syntax error: unexpected ")"Other experiments:I try to execute python source code directly on STM32, there is no problem.I try to bundle python code into a single executable on STM32, but can't install pyinstaller. (pip3 install pyinstaller)Thanks for your support,Ken.
Hi,I work on a custom board using a DHCOR SoM with a STM32MP157C SoC. I setup the TF-A + OP-TEE boot chain for the secure boot and I managed to boot on the linux stm32 (v6.1). The board hangs at reboot :[ 1480.467975] reboot: Restarting systemI/TC: Forced system resetTo reboot the board, the OP-TEE OS writes '1' in the RCC_MP_GRSTCSETR register bit 0. If TZEN = '1', this register can only be modified in secure mode. On an STM32MP157D-based system, I wish to condition the Linux CLOCK_REALTIME precision clock against an external clock source in a non-standard manner (ie. not using PTPD or similar). To do this, I am using a wireless radio controlled by the CM4 core on the STM32MP157D to synchronize and condition the 64-bit Ethernet precision timer within a microsecond of a clock on the far end of the wireless connection. This code was adapted from an STM32F767 device, and the port was relatively easy to do.Can I configure the Linux system to use the Ethernet precision timer rather than the default system timer for the CLOCK_REALTIME precision clock? If so, how might I configure this within the kernel or device tree files?Alternatively, how might I adjust the CM4 ARM Cortex-A Generic Timer, which is likely used by default for CLOCK_REALTIME, so that it can be set and adjusted by code running within the CM4 core? Or is some other clock used by Linux for the CLOCK_REALTIME clock? Thanks,Mike
