Hi, I loaded Linux start image to DK 2 eval board and it boots ok if it connected to serial terminal on PC (TeraTerm, etc). When terminal is not running or cable is not connected it won't boot. Can I disable that without rebuilding Bootloader/Linux ?Thanks.
I'm referring to the following website.https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/index.php/STM32MP1_Distribution_PackageI stumbled on "6 Building the OpenSTLinux distribution".Error occurred in bitbake.I attach the log.Could you tell me the cause of the error?Best Regards,Osamu Murakami
Hi,I'm looking for the simplest way how to gather data from SensorTile board(s) on STM32MP157C-DK2via Bluetooth.Could you please help me to find some examples?Ideally it'd be nice to do it directly on Cortex-A7, e.g. by adapting/making running on STLinux the python scripts.https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/BlueSTSDK_Python/blob/master/README.mdAs an alternative (if easier) that's also fine to do it on Cortex-M4. Anyway, I have firmware running there which can just "forward" the gathered data to A7.BTW: as I've found in the post, STMicroelectronics is working on the feature to install python packages via apt-get in 2020.Do you know when it's going to be implemented and whether it's possible to join beta-testing of the feature.I'd be really thankful for it :-).https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000BmnKOVSQ2/how-to-install-python-package-on-stm32mp157cdk2Thank you!Kind regards, Alexander Iotko
Hi,we're thinking about using the STM32MP157 in a product. However, there's still something unclear to us.We need to connect it to a display which only supports the 16-bit Intel 8080 bus (so LTDC cannot be used). I read that it's possible to emulate its graphics memory via FMC. Our plan was to let the GPU write directly to FMC so that no DMA intervention will be neccessary and no extra frame buffer needs to be allocated. Unfortunately, there's not much documentation on the 3D GPU.So our questions are: Can the GPU output pixel data directly to FMC? How does the pixel data format look like? Also important to us: Can Android run on both CA7's or is it only possible to run a TEE OS on the secure core? And would it be possible to run CM4 either completely independent or split (custom code + Android communication)? Thanks in advance,Alex
HI all,I am using an STM32MP15-EV1 eval board and will connect an external amplifier to the HEADSET output. I would like this amplifier to be automatically switched on / off when sound is being played. If I am correct this is supported in the audio-graph-card machine driver via the pa-gpios property. However I cannot make this work. I am adding the following in the DT: sound { pa-gpios = <&gpioa 13 GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW>; };What else needs to be done? Thanks,Guillermo
I’m getting a build error when attempting to build the linux kernel.ERROR:scripts/extract-cert.c:21:10: fatal error: openssl/bio.h: No such file or directory #include <openssl/bio.h>I have followed instructions from https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Modify,_rebuild_and_reload_the_Linux%C2%AE_kerneland README.HOW_TO.txtGet same error when following either document. I don’t see “openssl? included in the kernel source. Any suggestion on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
Hi,I need an examples on LCD and USB driver without Linux pleaseThe en.stm32cubemp1_v1-1-0 do not have it, and the STM32CubeMX do not allow this mode.Thanks.Mohammad
Most of the DSI pin mapping is same as ST's DK2 board except DSI_RESET and DSI_TE. I updated the DSI_RESET pin mapping in the device tree to reflect actual connections. However, Weston Wayland compositor fails to start even when DSI display is not connected. Does weston have any other GPIO dependencies? I'm working on a design with the STM32MP153 and came across the additional function of PA13 as BOOTFAILN.I can guess what this means but I can't find any documentation on the subject. Don't know when or why this pin gets active. Or is it an input? In the reference design schematics both a LED and a switch are connected to this pin. Thanks for any insight.
I've included the stock OpenAMP echo code for the M4 from CubeIDE 1.10-2 and am able to echo a message to /dev/ttyRPMSG0 and have cat print the echoed message.I've written a simple app in C to open the RPMSG0 device, write(2) a structure and then read(2) the structure back. I've modified the OpenAMP callback code to modify a sructure member and a debugger on the M4 shows that VIRT_UART_Transmit() buffer arg(2) contains the changed structure member value, however, my read(2) on the A7 displays the original structure member value. This is for a POC so I'm hoping to simply use /dev/RPMSG driver subsystem as is.Can the standard st-linux RPMSG facility be used to pass structures to M4 and back to A7 as I'm attempted to do .... open(); write(); read() - no close() as I'm expecting to write and read more messages ?Are there /dev/RPMSGn settings I need to use in order for this to work as intended ?Are there examples of how to pass structured messages through RPMSGn ?The STM32Cube_FW_MP1_V1.1.0
We have build a device that looks like DK2 but we have a NAND memory instead of SD card and we work on an IO supply of 1.8V instead of 3.3V. We can load the fsbl and U-Boot with STM32cubeprogrammer, but U-Boot resets the usb and the STM32cubeprogrammer can never reconnect. The board is not enumerated the second time. How can we debug that? What could be the cause?
AllI am new to the ST ecosystem.I tried Save as. That saves a 1.6K file with nothing in it.I tried clicking the link and I get a 403 error. How do I download this tar file? Thanks.
Using the Distribution Package for STM32MP1 I wrote a simple function to copy some file to the rootfs image and execute fine-tuning commands:my_postprocess_function() { cp -dr /home/osboxes/Documents/overlay/* ${IMAGE_ROOTFS} ln -s /lib/systemd/system/apache2.service ${IMAGE_ROOTFS}/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/apache2.service } ROOTFS_POSTPROCESS_COMMAND += "my_postprocess_function; "It works fine but of course don't work for files in `/boot` because it's another partition and the tree under `${IMAGE_ROOTFS}` does not contain it.So, what's the right syntax to execute any command in the `boot/` directory?
Hello,I'd like to test your X-LINUX-AI-CV OpenSTLinux image on my STM32MP157C-DK2 Discovery kit as explained in the following pagehttps://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/X-LINUX-AI-CV_OpenSTLinux_expansion_packageDo you provide a ready to flash and use X-LINUX-AI-CV OpenSTLinux image somewhere or one have to rebuild it from scratch only?Thank you--Marco
We are looking for random access from the linux side as well as DMA capabilities as future add-on.
What is the best mechanism to access shared memory from the A7’s linux user space? I have tried using mmap and was successful at reading shared memory; however, I get memory exceptions when attempting to write. Could it be that I can only write to this memory in kernel space?I can find documentation for the M4 processor and how to define shared memory in linker script. No luck with linux doc's other than “remoteproc? and “rpmsg? documentation, neither give clear instruction on how this is done.Could you please refer me to some documentation that could help me get a better understanding on how this is done. Thanks in advance!
Hi! I am following the tutorial How to optimize the boot time for stm32mp157c-ev1 I have enabled FastMap but the time is not reduce (about 10s to attaching ubi) I want to avoid attaching ubi... Is it posible load kernel and device tree in nand using STM32_Programmer?
I'm trying to get STM32MP157C-EV1 board working with the STM32Cube ecosystem.I've had a lot of issues - the documentation isn't well "connected" re. no "getting started" guide with the board. I eventually found the wiki pages - would be *very* useful if these were mentioned on the STM32MP1 resources webpage!).The wiki pages describe using the now deprecated SW4STM32 rather than STM32CubeIDE, and whilst it describes setting the boot pins to boot from SDCARD the section on developing on the M4 doesn't say to set them to "engineering mode" (confusingly referred to as "Reserved (No Boot)" in the STM32MP1 reference manual. The board was also supplied without the jumpers being in the documented default settings, but that's another issue ;)I've eventually got a partially working system using an external J-Link and also with the internal ST-Link (despite the ST-Link firmware version being wrongly reported in many of the tools which confused me at first, and the ST-Link GDB server having a
Hi, I'm trying to get DMA2 requests working, using TIM and HAL. Iam using TIM5_CH2 and iam not sure which DMA2 stream should be used here (i use stream1). Creating PWM signal isn't a problem, but i want to change duty cycles (very common problem) by delivering a buffer of different pulses.HAL_TIM_PWM_Start_DMA(&htim5, TIM_CHANNEL_2,(uint32_t*)buffer, 2) does not give the expected results. According to the ref (p.1187 and 1227) there should probably be used multiplexing via DMAMUX, but i don't know how to use and how to interpret the table. Maybe it is something like:hdma_tim5_ch2.Instance = DMA2_Stream0;hdma_tim5_ch2.DMAmuxChannel = DMAMUX1_Channel6;in the TIM-DMA init, because DMAMUX has 16 channels with 8 streams each.Thank you in advance!
I'm trying execution code:#define DEVICE "/dev/ttyRPMSG0" int main(void) { int fd; struct termios tty; char buf[100]; int len; printf("Opening device...\n"); fd = open( DEVICE, O_RDWR | O_NOCTTY | O_NDELAY ); // read/write, no console, no delay if ( fd < 0 ) { printf("Error, cannot open device\n"); return 1; } }But, always get: Error, cannot open device. :(I think, that in my Linux system there is no driver for this device: /dev/ttyRPMSG0.What am I doing wrong?How to create and manage a device /dev/ttyRPMSG0 from a program correctly?Board: STM32MP157C-DK2Many thanks.
I am switching from a classic RTOS/Bare Metal Architecture (like the F4) to the STM32MP1 ecosystem. For that I am trying to generate an interrupt based of a GPIO input.I could not find any specific examples for this in the wiki? Are there any tutorials for that? Is it possible to configure the Device Tree for that Interrupt using STMCubeMX?Thanks!
Hi ,I am working with STM32MPU DK2 and Distribution package and have some of basic queries. How do i know which peripheral is connected to which Processor ? where can i get to know about this ? 1.1how do i know which device tree .dts is used ? 1.2 if i execute a new project from cubeMX it generates project skeleton and a .dts file, shoud i have to rebuild linux with this .dts?1.3 On runtime, can i get to know if a particular peripheral is assigned a particular processor?2. I have obtained the terminal of the board using Minicom and i m able to execute the programs on Linux A7 and M4 using the below links...But how can i crossverify if M4 is what is being executed or other? 3. Where can i find the source code for AI demo from the Linux environment? or any demo that contains source files of both the processors application? Background: Trying to establish a communication between A7 and M4 using RPMsg mechanism. Thanks in AdvanceVivek
In Getting Started there are links to the SDK and Kernel Source, both links return 403 Forbidden They have been broke since Friday evening, at least that is when I tried to install.
