From my preliminary survey, ST provides bootloader source code, kernel source code, and Yocto/Linux for SW developers to customize the file system (rootfs) to add/remove the open source tools and framework. Is my understanding correct?

I'm attempting to activate I2C5 on I2C_EXT connector CN13 on the board. Prior instructions were to generate device tree code in STMCubeMX. Done that, but something looks weird. All HW documentation and EV1 user documentation indicates that I2C5 is physically wired to MP157A PA11, PA12. In the device tree output excerpt below, note that SCL(I2C5) comes out as expected but it keeps tossing SDA(I2C5) over to port PZ/mux -- I have no clue why it's doing this or if it is correct in some deeper pin-mux that I have not yet discovered. Please advise on the attached excerpt form STM32CubeMX device tree output.
Hi,I am working on a project where the hardware platform is based on STM32MP157c and the OS is Linux 4.19.9 .I am facing on a issue about device tree spi configuration.Following SPI_overview on wiki.st.com kernel config has been modified with: CONFIG_SPI=yCONFIG_SPI_MASTER=yCONFIG_SPI_STM32=yCONFIG_SPI_SPIDEV=ywhile dts file has been modified adding spi2 DT configuration:&spi2{ pinctrl-names = "default", "sleep"; pinctrl-0 = <&spi2_pins_mx>; pinctrl-1 = <&spi2_sleep_pins_mx>; cs-gpios = <&gpioi 0 0>; status = "okay"; /* USER CODE BEGIN spi2 */ spidev@0x00 { compatible = "spidev"; #address-cells = <1>
Hi supporter, I installed the STM32CubeIDE v1.3.0 on my macos. After install success, I try to debug example project. The console window show "stm32mp1x.cfg can not found". Then I search that file in STM32CubeIDE path.SC-MacBookPro:Contents $ find . -name "*.cfg" ./Eclipse/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.common.mx_5.6.0.202002181639/db/plugins/projectmanager/stm32tck.cfg ./Eclipse/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.debug.openocd_1.3.0.202002181050/resources/openocd/st_scripts/interface/cmsis-dap.cfg ./Eclipse/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.debug.openocd_1.3.0.202002181050/resources/openocd/st_scripts/interface/jlink.cfg ./Eclipse/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.debug.openocd_1.3.0.202002181050/resources/openocd/st_scripts/interface/stlink-dap.cfg ./Eclipse/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.debug.openocd_1.3.0.202002181050/resources/openocd/st_scripts/interface/stlink-tcp.cfg ./Eclipse/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.debug.openocd_1.3.0.202002181050/resources/openocd/st_scripts/interface/stli
hi; How to configure the Mclk device tree for I2S.
Hello, I would like to know in detail how exactly does the Engineering mode work on this platform. The information at https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32CubeMP1_development_guidelines are kind of vague and a little confusing. Is the Cortex-A7 being used in this mode at all, or it goes straight to an infinite loop? Where is the secure debugger running, if the A7 is not used? Is the ROM code executed by the Cortex-M4? The figure shows that the debugger runs on the Cortex-A7, which technically means it also loads and runs the co-processor firmware, so it can not go into an infinite loop?
Hello, I ask for your help.My problem is I have my own custom board, I don't know how to make fsbl binary.I have a evaluation board, STM32MP157C-EV1.I did a Distribution package by Yocto System. The FlashLayout_emmc_stm32mp157c-ev1-optee.tsv file was created and I uploaded it to EMMC.Of course, I used that program 'STM32CubeProgrammer'.Here is the link I referenced: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP1_boards/STM32MP157x-EV1/Let%27s_start/Populate_the_target_and_boot_the_imagehttps://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/index.php/STM32MP1_Distribution_PackageHere is the manifestation I used: DISTRO=openstlinux-eglfs MACHINE=stm32mp1 source layers/meta-st/scripts/envsetup.shbitbake st-example-image-qtThe result is successful, STM32MP157C-EV1.But, The problem is custom board. AP is the same. STM32MP157AAA3.TSV Files using the STM32CubeProgrammer program cannot be uploaded to custom board.custom board's device tree created by CubeMX. But the problem is fsbl.I need to build a new fsbl
Hi I would like to debug stm32f7 on Stm32mp157_EV1 board via stlink. according to page 5 of http://www.keil.com/appnotes/files/apnt_319_v1.1.pdf i connected st link then went to Project, Selected St-link and then went to setting dialog, the text box for AP was disable and didnt show any thing!!!! When i unchecked the enable pack in pack tap, showed not found target in SWDevice!!! then when i check pack, device found. i dont know what shall i do Thanks in advance Any help would be greatly appreciated:blossom:
Hi dear engineers, i can run linux on stm32f429 mcu without any problem, but it failed on Cortex-M MCU in stm32mp157 board. After many hours i realize:error happens in below functionvoid __meminit __free_pages_bootmem...Anyone else had a similar problem? how you resolved it?Shall i change any register address in kernel? (i think every thing is the same in cortex-M4 and stm32f429).Best regards
Hi, I use SPI1 and SPI4 in CM4 context on my custom board. Now, I use SPI_FullDuplex_ComIT_Master_CM4.elf binary to test those SPI controllers. The SPI4 is working, but the SPI1 doesn't working. Below is the log when SPI1 firmware started root@stm32mp1:~# echo "start" > /sys/class/remoteproc/remoteproc0/state [ 47.494072] remoteproc remoteproc0: powering up m4 [ 47.549448] remoteproc remoteproc0: Booting fw image SPI_FullDuplex_ComIT_Master_CM4.elf, size 2009036 [ 47.557833] remoteproc remoteproc0: header-less resource table [ 47.564191] remoteproc remoteproc0: not resource table found for this firmware [ 47.571421] remoteproc remoteproc0: header-less resource table [ 47.637048] rproc-srm-core m4@0:m4_system_resources: bound m4@0:m4_system_resources:serial@4000e000 (ops 0xc0a935f8) [ 47.646744] rproc-srm-core m4@0:m4_system_resources: bound m4@0:m4_system_resources:serial@40011000 (ops 0xc0a935f8) [ 47.672140] rproc-srm-core m4@0:m4_system_resources: bound m4@0:m4_system_resources:d
Hello, We have a custom board with STM32MP157A series and we need to launch our image using EMMC boot.Actually we had an custom board with same processor but it was booting only with SD card as there is no EMMC boot in that.So I want to know how to do this on this board using EMMC.RegardsSrikanth.
Hi, how to add program to autostart in OpenSTLinux ?I tried adding initialization script to /etc/init.d and creating .desktop file in ~/.config/autostart directory, but nothing works.I will be very gratefull, if somebody could help me.
Hi,Section "4.3.11 NVIC register map" states that the base address of the main NVIC register block is 0xE000E100 and NVIC_ISERx registers starts at offset 0x100 (Table 49. NVIC register map and reset values). The same offset is given in section "4.3.2 Interrupt set-enable register x (NVIC_ISERx)".The problem is that the correct offset is 0x00 and the corresponding sections for registers ISERx, ICERx, ISPRx, ICPRx, IABRx and IPx provides the offsets' values greater by 0x100 than real values. The table 45 "NVIC register summary" and CMSIS source code (core_cm4.h declaration of NVIC_Type struct) provide correct values.
Hi, Is there a way to take screenshots on the STM32MP157C-DK2? thanks in advanceLukas
Not sure where to post this, just unpacked a STM32MP157C-EV1 and was following the Getting started instructions. The insctructions use USB to program a SDHC card. But, on this page:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP1_boards/STM32MP157x-EV1/Let%27s_start/Populate_the_target_and_boot_the_image"Connect USB Type A to Type C cable between PC and CN7/USB_OTG port of the STM32MP157x-EV1 board"But CN7/USB_OTG is on the STM32MP157C-DK2, not the -EV1 and there is no corresponding connector (I think). Will try to program the card using ST-LINK.Thanks!
Hi, how can I disable the autostart of the demo-application on the STM32MP157C-DK2 and make my own application autostart ?thanks in advanceLukas
Hello, I am using STM32MP157C-DK2 evalution board and I successfully booted the board with STM yocto, now I was trying to add a new environment variable in the Uboot. But I was not able to get how to do that. Can anyone suggest how to do this.RegardsSrikanth.
Hi, On the OpenSTLinux Git i can see that there is the warrior branch and i would like to know when will there be a realease using this branch of Openembedded? Also the Zeus branch is now available (3.0), is there plans to support it too? Thanks,
Following instructions @ https://www.emsyslabs.com/how-to-compile-linux-using-yocto-for-stm32mp1/andhttps://koansoftware.com/yocto-project-meta-layer-for-stm32mp1-by-koan/I'm led to believe that a qtcreator executable or script will be created which I can run on the host (Debian) to create and cross compile a QT5 app for STM32MP157.I'm new to QT but need to create a simple UI to run on STM32MP157, what am I missing ?Thanks in advance.
I want to boot my original board which STM32MP151CAA3 MPU is mounted on.However, the following error occurs in the boot process and the process fail. mmc0: error -22 whilst initialising SD cardI suspect that the description of User Code Section for sdmmc1(SD card) node in the device tree cause an error, but I have not known the cause of the error. What could be the cause of the error?I attach boot error log and original device tree sources.Would you be able to lend your expertise.Best regards.H. Masuda
Hello. I am new to this device. The bluetooth demo connects to a headset (or speaker) and work fine. Also, the BT module seems to be advertised as an audio device. I suppose, it should be possible to change that, but I have not found any way for it. What I want is to pass some data between two devices, let's say open the Bluetooth as a serial port (BTPROTO_RFCOMM). Any hints? Thanks.
