The kernel cannot be started in a loop, as long as I use TF-A+UBOOT to start the kernel
Hi is there a list, or sorts, with the examples that should work for the DK1 dev board from the DK2 examples?
I use STM32MP151CAA3 Cortex-M4 on my custom board.I got fault report from uVision debugger when __main called in my startup assembler code.https://www.keil.com/support/man/docs/uv4/uv4_cp_m347_faults.htmMemory Manage Faults DACCVIOL (Data access violation flag) are checked.SCB->MMFAR ( Mem Manage Fault Address Register located at memory address 0xE000ED34) shows 0x10060000.The address is region that Cortex-M4 cannot access, so I'm not accessing that region in my program. Why above fault report occurs? How can I investigate the cause of the Fault Reports?Best Regards.H. I am working with the STM32MP157 creating an SD card image using OpenSTLinux. I would like to use RAUC to perform updates but to do so I need to create a second rootfs partition. One active partition and the other for updates. I couldn't find in the wiki how to modify the partitions and general flash layout. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to start looking or what to modify in OpenSTLinux to modify the generated partition layout. Also any advice with RAUC is appreciated. https://github.com/rauc/rauc
Hello,I used to develop bare metal applications on STM32MP157 discovery kit, but I can only debug Cortex-M4 with ST-LINK. I would like to debug both Cortex-A7 and Cortex-M4, do I need to get an evaluation board with a JTAG interface? I want to develop bare applications for Cortex-A7 cores, not running Linux on them.I ran into this board http://www.myirtech.com/list.asp?id=624 when searching for a board with a JTAG interface. What do you think of those?Kind regards,
What I want to achieve is starting the DFU ROM bootloader (like on a MCU) from a running Linux (maybe via a dedicated kernel module) or, if this helps, via re-configuring u-boot and doing a software reboot cycle.
Hello everybody,Here is my problem. I am using the buildroot distro instead of OpenSTLinux and want toconnect my STM32 via ethernet using SSH. I use MobaXterm as remote control software.P.s After a system boot I get the following response although the ethernet LEDs are not blinkingbuildroot login: [ 4.237860] stm32-dwmac 5800a000.ethernet eth0: Link is Up - 1Gbps/Full - flow control rx/tx [ 4.251707] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes readyAfter ifconfig -a I get the following response:eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:80:E1:42:6B:16 inet addr:192.168.8.45 Bcast:192.168.8.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::280:e1ff:fe42:6b16/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:107 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:11 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:10299 (10.0 KiB) TX bytes:866 (866.0 B) Interrupt:60 Base addres
I tried :tail -F /sys/kernel/debug/remoteproc/remoteproc0/trace0 >> myLog.logbut this command not printing new log messages that appear in the trace0 file. how can I print every line of log to some external file that not disappear when the remoteproc dies.tnx.
I am working with Buildroot, to flash an image on my STM32MP157C-DK2 I wanted to have Wi-Fi working it but I got this error:Code:Copy to clipboardSuccessfully initialized wpa_supplicantnl80211: 'nl80211' generic netlink not foundFailed to initialize driver 'nl80211'wlan0: Unsupported driver 'nl80211'FAILI configure the interfaces and wpa_supplicant.conf files correctly normally. I don’t know wthat that means but my configuration in the menuconfig and linux-menuconfig is right (I think). Does it maybe have something to do with my target machine (the STM in this case) ?Every Kind of Help is appreciated since I am a newby in Embedded Linuxp.s I don’t know why but it seems like the Wifi Bluetooth Card is Murata-LBEE5KL1DX-883. Maybe my Kernel configuration does not support itI linked both Kernel and System Configuration
These should be escape characters and should not be displayed
Hey guys.... Hope you all are doing well I've own the STM32 mp1 dk2 boardAt my host (Ubuntu 18.4 LTS), i have successful installed OpenSTLinux and SDK I'm able to Cross Compile the "hello world" code at user space and it's working well Now, for one of my IoT application, i need to integrate the AWS IoT c SDKI need to Cross-compile the aws IoT C sdk for the MP1 but, i haven't found any resources regrading the same Can anyone help me here ?All suggestions and Comments Welcome =)Regards,Mahendra Sondagar

I am using the STM32MP15-DK2 dev board and with a modified device tree to enable some peripherals. I would like to use /dev/watchdog to reset if ever my application hangs. But whenever I try to open the device I get Error opening watchdog device: Device or resource busyI have the watchdog functions commented out in /etc/systemd/system.conf#RuntimeWatchdogSec=0 #RebootWatchdogSec=10min #ShutdownWatchdogSec=10min #KExecWatchdogSec=0 #WatchdogDevice=and all the info i get from fuser is root@stm32mp1:/etc/systemd# fuser /dev/watchdog 1I can't figure out what is causing the error. Does has anyone dealt with this problem before? Thanks
Looking for a light linux distro and processor (MPU) wich is capable of running one of the text to speech engines.
Hello,I need to flash a custom STM32MP1 board which only has JTAG (no USB port available). Additionally, I build the image using Yocto meaning the output are separate binaries (e.g. U-Boot) and .tsv files. The STM32CubeProgrammer detects the CPU with the ST-LINK/V2 in-circuit debugger. However trying to flash the device comes with the error:```Error: TSV files are not supported with JTAG/SWD debug interface```Could someone give me more info on how I could flash over JTAG and by using the STM32CubeProgrammer? Or how I could flash in any other way (dont forget that Yocto generates separate binaries and the .tsv files).
When building a distro for our custom board with a STM32MP153AAC, u-boot-stm32mp fails to build when UBOOT_CONFIG is set to "basic". We would like to do a ddr3 test, this is the reason for the config. Here is the relevant section from conf/machine/stm32mp1-raichu-v2.conf file########################################################################### # # User machine customization sections # ########################################################################### # Boot Scheme # ========================================================================= BOOTSCHEME_LABELS += "trusted" # WORKAROUND to generate U-BOOT SPL for DDR Tuning tools usage UBOOT_CONFIG += "basic"It seems that the dsi block is defined in arch/arm/dts/stm32mp157.dtsi, but we have a stm32mp153, and the device tree generated by CubeMX only includes stm32mp153.dtsi. So obviously, this isn't going to work:https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/meta-st-stm32mp/blob/dunfell/recipes-bsp/u-boot/u-boot-stm32mp/0004-ARM
Hello,I am trying to figure out how to drive the USB traffic (any of the available ports acting as device) from/to the M4 core. I can see that the SoC interconnection allows for the data to flow between the peripheral and the M4 core but I cannot find a way to achieve this form of operation. The runtime operation of the USB-OTG peripheral is assigned to the A7 core but I assume there is a way to allow the endpoint data to be handled by the M4 core in some way (maybe some DMA-based scheme?). I would really appreciate if somebody can cast some light over this issue to get started evaluating this use case. The target application requires real-time operation for the data being transmitted over USB and this feature being handled by the M4 core is quasi-mandatory. I do not see a clear way of achieving the real-time performance by transmitting all the data over the IPCC interface, even using indirect more, as this would require a very high frequency polling of this memory region by the A7 core.
Hello ST Teams!Question again!I'd like to set up an access point on my st_image_core, SDK1.2i've added hotspot in layer append, and i can configure hostapd.confI've followed the howto :https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_configure_a_wlan_interface_on_hotspot_modeBut it seems that somethings goes wrong. Even if i try with your st-hotspot-wifi-service.sh.My question is:Do i need to add a dhcp server like udhcp server (udhcpd)?I've looked on the starter kit for DK2, and i cannot find any of these! What package from Starter kit I need to import to make things work? What am i missing?Seeya!
I have troubles in setting the polarity of the SPI chip select i/o for an external chip.I noticed In the reference manual that it should be changeable with SPI configuration register 2 (SSIOP bit 28) :Bit 28 SSIOP: SS input/output polarity0: low level is active for SS signal1: high level is active for SS signalHowever the SPI presentation STM32MP1 (1.0) says: "The Slave Select signal can operate as an input or as an output depending on the SSIOP control bit. " Which one is right?
I would like to provide power from PI connector. How to avoid error blocking message at the start of the boot that report:************************************************ ERROR USB TYPE-C connection in unattached mode ** Check that USB TYPE-C cable is correctly plugged ** Current too low, use a 3A power supply! ************************************************
Dear all,We are designing a board using STM32MP1 and STPMIC1 mostly as recommended in datasheet and application note. As we have a wide VIN range we added a discrete DC/DC with a 5V output that supply STPMIC1 VIN.We would like to use STMPIC1 PWR_USB_SW as a power switch for USB. We understand that as we have a fixed 5V VIN we don't need BOOST features and we can use the BOOST bybass mode from VIN.In some ST document we can read: "If PWR_USB_SW is used, the BOOST converter must be supplied, since the BOOST output is used as PWR_USB_SW input" At the end it's not clear, do we really need to power VLXBST and add an inductor even if we only need the the bypass mode and no boost function ?Thanks in advance for any clarification
I've setup the distribution package, i'm able to build the default image, and have created a custom image that includes some additional recipes. Now I want to continue with creating my custom machine. I've created a custom device tree with cubeMX and placed it in meta-st-stm32mp-addons/mx/<projectname>. I followed the steps https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_create_your_own_machineMy .conf looks like this:#@TYPE: Machine #@NAME: stm32mp1-mx #@DESCRIPTION: Configuration for STM32CubeMX generated project #@NEEDED_BSPLAYERS: layers/meta-openembedded/meta-oe layers/meta-openembedded/meta-python ########################################################################### # # Default machine configuration sections # ########################################################################### include conf/machine/include/st-machine-common-stm32mp.inc include conf/machine/include/st-machine-providers-stm32mp.inc # Define specific common machine name MACHINEOVERRID
