Hello,I try to test the BLE on my Nucleo-STM32WB55 board.I use the v1.21.0 ST package for WB boards with BLE_Zigbee_Dyn exemple.I can use Zigbee without problems, but i never be able to use BLE. I can't discover device on ST BLE sensor classic.I upload the stm32wb5x_BLE_Zigbee_FFD_dynamic_fw.bin.Thanks.
I am looking for a board, and think that I need someone to say that they have used it, rather than googling for it. In the immortal words of Jimi "are you experienced?" I would like to program in Ada, so the STM32 looks ideal. If at all possible, I would like to code in Ada and debug using a proper debugger, to enable me to set breakpoints, examine variables, view the stack, etc, rather than just print to the serial monitor. However, there are a few other things that I would like, so I would be willing to code in C if Ada meant that I couldn't have most of them. For instance, the debugger is deal make/breaker.Note that while I am used to software only debuggers, I read about the Segger J-Link and could use that if it is easy for a novice to to set up. I haven't tried Segger's IDE, but hope that it is something modern, like the PlatformIO IDE. I am particularly interested in the STM32WB series as they have Bluetooth 5, which has some neat additions for proximity detection and I am cu
Dear STM32 Community,I am working on a PCB design for the STM32WL5 and would like to seek confirmation regarding my design approach. Specifically, in the top layer, I have an RF signal track, and in the second layer, there is a GND plane. However, I have cut the GND plane directly below the RF signal track.Could you please confirm if this design approach adheres to best practices, or if there are any potential issues with this configuration? I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions based on your experience with STM32WL5 designs.Looking forward to your feedback.Thank you in advance!
Dear ST experts. We are a module manufacturer. We have designed a module based on WL33. We have been using ST's dk board for verification. However, when we tested the distance, the original dk board was about 200 meters. With a 20dbm and -12X sensitivity, we have high expectations for this chip. Do you have ST distance test reports and parameters?2. If our deviation is <2.5Khz, does it mean that we need to replace the TCXO? B.R. Weili Wang.
I get this error when trying to using the BLE_heartrate example for the nucleo-WB09KE. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the IDE.
I asked this question on the Seeed community forum, and I decided to ask the same question here.According to Viki, for this board, I have the following image:This image shows two rows of pin labels: one grayed and the second colored. In my infrastructure, I use I2C3 with pin connections according to MX configuration from STM32CubeIde: This connection configuration works for me for several sensors.I tried to activate other I2C interfaces, but I didn't find a pair of pin connections that matched the MX views for all I2Cs.So, my question is: can I activate other I2Cs besides I2C3 on this board?
Hi,I am currently using Zephyr v3.7.0 to program the Nucleo STM32WBA55CG board running BLE peripheral based application.Since our project has flash and RAM constraints, I would like to explore the peripheral only BLE library to reduce the memory footprint. Thus, could you share the workflow as how to switch from the full BLE library to the peripheral library tailored towards Zephyr v3.7.0 Thanks, Kaiwalya@Lubos KOUDELKA @Sebastien DENOUAL @Dominique FOLLEZOUR

Hi, I am building a BLE application using Zephyr v3.7.0 and nucleo_wba55cg evaluation board. I have currently implemented the accept list functionality where only paired and bonded devices can connect in accept list adv mode. However, I struggle with the bond deletion scenarios; below you can find the test steps to reciprocate the scenario:Enable pairable adv mode on the peripheral side, and then connect, pair and bond a smartphoneDelete the stored bond on the smartphone sideEnable again pairable mode on the peripheral with an intention to re-bond the smartphone that has been bonded in step 1In step 3, I am not able to re-pair and re-bond the same smartphone that has been bonded once before (essentially, the peripheral device retains the bond but still bonding is not possible)Note:In my project, I also delete the bond information on the peripheral side in the security callback in case the encryption of the connection is insufficient @Lubos KOUDELKA @Sebastien
Hi,We are encountering a problem with an STM32WB55-based Zigbee router we have developed, where, in some cases, the Zigbee end device connected via the router becomes unreachable for requests sent from the coordinator.Specifically, when the STM32WB55 acts as a Zigbee Router, a network configuration can be reached where it does not send a RREC command on behalf of its end-device child. The problem manifests itself if the end-device child changes parents at some point after joining, with the STM32WB55 device being the new parent. If the Coordinator needs to send a packet to the end device, it does not have an up-to-date route and sends packets to the original parent router instead. We initially contacted Exegin, our coordinator Zigbee stack supplier, for support. They helped identify the root cause and confirmed that the STM32WB55-based Zigbee router does not send Route Records to the coordinator, causing the end device to become unreachable after a parent change to the STM32WB55 router.W
Hello,I am currently working with the NUCLEO-WL33CC1 boards (MB2029-HIGHBAND-B02 + MB1801D). I have successfully ported our wireless solution to this platform (6tisch stack). Transceiver works properly, no problems so far. However, my next step is to incorporate an LBT mechanism, preferably to detect channel energy before transmission. The mandatory minimum listening time is 160us, so two solutions would be fine for me:- polling mode - when the transmission trigger is called, MCU returns informing that the transmission didn't happen, or calls the start-of-frame callback and returns starting the transmission.- event mode (let's name it that way) - the transmission trigger is called, but depending on the signal strength in the channel, the transmission will go out or not. In this scenario, the transceiver must be able to call some kind of frame start interrupt (preferable on sync word coming out of the radio, start/end of preamble, etc.). I point this out because the STM32WL33 does not ha
Hi,How can I set the lowest power consumption with the BLE_p2pServer example on the STM32WBA55?I have tried to set the power level to the lowest level in STM32_WPAN configuration, but the average power consumption (at 2s advertising interval) is around 0.4mA which is quite high.
Hello,we are tryng implemet wmbus in our meter.is ther any example code availble for it.I am usng stm32wle5ccu6. if any have done it let me know. thank you.
Hello,My goal is to setup a timer which also runs when the device is in (Zigbee) sleep mode. I have tried to adapt HAL_GetTick() to be run by LPTIM1 on an STM32WB5MMG, which led to the device not boot anymore. I also tried setup timestamps on the RTC which did not solve the original problem. Is there some predefined solution to solve my problem or some example projects that demonstrate the use of LPTIM1 for my usecase?Best regards
Hi,after flashing the binary files of BLE_ApplicationInstallManager and BLE_p2pServer_ota on the STM32WBA55CG, I can no longer access the controller. What i did:Flashing .bin file of the BLE_ApplicationInstallManager @ start address 0x0800 0000Flashing .bin file of the BLE_p2pServer_ota @ start address 0x0800 6000Result: Flashing ok and programm is workingThen I changed the settings in STM32_WPAN configuration (Change BLE Stack from Basic to Full). I generated the code and compiled it.Then I tried to flash the new .bin file of the BLE_p2pServer_ota @ start address 0x0800 6000 and got this message:However, the controller (STM32WBA55CG) is not listed in the settings:And therefore, I am no longer able to establish a connection to the controller with STM32CubeProgrammer:I also checked the COM port, but everything (J-Link on COM7) looks fine here:Then I tried to establish a connection with STM32CubeIDE, but that also failed: Does anyone have any ideas what I can do?
Hi,I am looking for wireless solution which supports below protocols.1> LoRaWAN.2> Sigfox3> WMbus.I am also looking for firmware integration for all of the above protocols and need to find that the firmware will support all of the protocols at same time? I googled it and came to the ST's wireless chip "STM32WL". According to datasheet they support all of 3 protocols.I can see that ST has the wireless software framework support using STM32CubeWL. But does it having the firmware stack for all of the above mentioned protocols? If it is then does it support all in same firmware? Please help me correct the understanding.Thankin you.Jaudeep.
STM32WB5MMG datasheet says ANT_NC should be connected to no-connect pad on board. But then, example ground plane seems to connect to ANT_NC. Which is right?
What does this error mean for the I2C interface? I have it on the connection between the LORA E5 Mini and the SI7021 sensor. The debugger stops here:Exactly at his method call: /* Wait until TXIS flag is set */ if (I2C_WaitOnTXISFlagUntilTimeout(hi2c, Timeout, Tickstart) != HAL_OK) { return HAL_ERROR; } As you can see, the I2C is in the HAL_I2C_STATE_READY.I have four items of the same sensor tested with this LORA device, and all behave the same, so I think a hardware error should be excluded.
Hello,I designed my custom board using STM32WB series to be connected to sensor and send data to CLIENT which is my laptop. I am able to use Write and Read Characteristics for a single character. Now I intend to use READ characteristic to send data every 5 millisecond to laptop. My sensor data payload can be maximum 120 Bytes.Do you see any issues here on STM32WB ? Does BLE support this much ?
Hello,I need clarification about the STM32WBA50KG Tx Output power for BLE 5.4.It seems that there's an inconsistency in the value of the Tx Power. This page STM32WBA50 overview mentions +10dBm.But the datasheet STM32WBA50KG datasheet mentions +4 dBm (page 62). What is the correct information ?
Hello ST Community, I’m working on a project that requires both Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and CAN connectivity. Ideally, I’d like a single MCU solution from ST that includes both a BLE radio and CAN (controller and transceiver, if possible). Single-Chip Option? Does ST offer any MCU that integrates BLE and CAN on one chip? I’ve looked into the STM32WB series for BLE, but it doesn’t appear to include CAN. Is there another family that might have both? External Module Choice If there’s no single-chip solution, which approach would you recommend? Use an STM32WB for BLE and add an external CAN transceiver? Use an STM32 MCU with CAN and add an external BLE module? In terms of complexity, power consumption, and development effort, which route do you find more straightforward? SPC5 Series I’m also curious about the SPC5 line, which seems dedicated to automotive applications. Is it a good option for integrating CAN + BLE (externally for BLE, perhaps)? Or is it overly specialized
Hi,I am currently working on a Bluetooth application using the STM32WB5MMG module.I want to configure the RTC such that it generates a WakeUp interrupt every 5ms to read sensors and do some computation before going to stop mode for the remainder of the 5ms interval. For the Bluetooth stack to work I had to activate the RTC, so I guess the Bluetooth stack somehow interacts with the RTC.The RTC wake-Up interrupt itself is not needed for Bluetooth, so my naive understanding is that activating and configuring this interrupt does not have any side-effects on Bluetooth and vice versa.Yet, when I configure the RTC WakeUp as shown in the screenshots at the end of the post and add the call shown below to my initialization code in the main method, the intterupt is triggered exactly once and not periodically.HAL_RTCEx_SetWakeUpTimer_IT(&hrtc, 82, RTC_WAKEUPCLOCK_RTCCLK_DIV2);Now, if I take a look at the interrupt callback in stm32wbxx_it.c, this looks as follows:void RTC_WKUP_IRQHandler(v
Hi, STM32WL33 is part of 6LoWPAN products, but in Firmware package there are no examples for 6LoWPAN. Can someone explain how to incorporate 6LoWPAN in STM32WL33 series ?
Hello,I'm working with Actility as server, on a NUCLEO-WL55JC as the End-Device. I have the STM code from the STM32obeWL repository, version 1.3.0. When running a FUOTA campaign from the server the last update sent from the end device in the serial port is this:I ran the program in a debugger and found out that it gets stuck in an infinite loop in the HardFault_Handler in stm32wlxx_it.c.Here is the call stack when the program is in the infinite loop:It seems it is trying to write to the start of the download slot, as defined in mapping_fwimg.ld, which is 0x801600. As I think it should. And it's src is:The above call to FragDecoderProcess is from the function LmhpFragmenrationOnMcpsIndication. and the address of the buffer is 0x200078e4. But then in the last call where it hard faults, in the function FLASH_IF_INT_Write, the src address is 0x200078e7:After the call to FragDecoderProcess, inside FragDecoderProcess the address of the rawData variable
We have been running into an issue on brand new custom hardware with the STM32wb55 chip that when we perform a FUS and BLE stack update using the stm_programmer CLI tool we need to perform a full power removal and apply before the BLE stack will actually work. When we run our tools to provision a board after the wireless stack upgrade is done we gave it the start stack command and when we boot into our application the cpu2 is failing to init. To recover from this we need to completely remove power and re apply for it to work.Does the wireless stack upgrade require a full power cycle to complete. We are using the command line tools connect under reset to try and trigger a reset of cpu2 but it does not.
