Using example HeartRateRTOS. I see that device name is passed to 2 places. One doesn't cause it to change, the other does. Passing new name caused no change, (old name appeared in scan) :aci_gap_update_adv_dataPassing new device name to below, caused it to change:aci_gap_set_discoverablea. Why the duplication?b. Shouldn't changing the advertisement data (1.) be enough to change it?c. Same question for MAC , only aci_hal_write_config_data changes it, while the MAC is still advertised using aci_gap_update_adv_data.

Hello all! I am a recent graduate in Computer Engineering and I am taking my very first stab at firmware development. However, the board my customer picked, is proving to be the most annoying from the STM32WB series (regarding support, examples, tutorials, videos, etc.). I was moving along nicely on this board, until I was told to pass data over BLE (I can on UART). I have been grinding away on this guy for a week solid and I am at the point I am open to any outside advice.(Note: The STM32WB5M specific BVLPeripheral works perfectly for me. I can send audio both ways, but I don't need to send audio and that project is full of stuff we don't need (mainly Opus). My Senior CpE suggested using the STM32WB55's BLE P2P Server example and modifying it for the STM32WB5M.)Main question: Why does it seem impossible to find the .svd file for the STM32WB5MM (or STM32WB5xx)? It's ridiculous this board is not listed on the main ARM CMSIS website: https://developer.arm.com/tools-and-software/embedded/
I am intending to flash MicroPython into this board, where I understand there is extensive support for this. I would like to investigate the possibility of using ST-Link Utility to save the initial firmware that came along with the board, so that I will be able to rollback in the event I realize that MicroPython will not be good for my use-case.
Hi! I'm working with the LORA E5 trying to make a small librarie to easily send/receive data through LORA protocol (Not lorawan). The given examples (Ping-Pong) use the task scheduler and the Subghy app, wich im not planning on using. My question is: What do I have to enable in cubemx to make it work in it's minimum form (using radio.c)?I've merged all the files that i think are important in one single file, now the problem is how to initialize all the hardware. Do you have any info about that or know where to find info about it?Thank you very much.Have a nice day.
Hi community,I designed my own PCB and implemented the STM32WB5MMG.The device is a rather simple "Smart Home Outlet" that you can turn on/off with a Smartphone via BLE (it is just a fun project to learn some BLE).I verified that everything is working by disabling BLE and just uploading some simple FreeRTOS based code using CubeIDE. Now i want to turn on BLE. I configured everyting in CubeIDE/CubeMX:RTC, HSEM, WPAN..., no FreeRTOSI followed some examples from CubeIDE and noticed already that I have to hand over to the start the scheduler with the following.while(1) { UTIL_SEQ_Run( UTIL_SEQ_DEFAULT ); }Then I ran into the problem that the code got stuck really shortly after being started. The device does not start CPU2 properly i think.After following some more code I found that by using: LL_HSEM_1StepLock( HSEM, 5 );the device does not get stuck.UTIL_SEQ_RegTask(...)I can add my own task and let the onboard LED blink.But I can not figure out how to start BLE. Does anyone have an idea w
I am a newbie in ST boards/products.I am using the NUCLEO-WL55JC board. I found an example to try. However, I can not work with it.After I open the example, I choose "Debug As: STM32 App". It is uploading the code, and the debugger connects... I can go step by step until DBG_Init() function in SystemApp_Init() function. Then, DBG_Init() tries to change my debugger pins behaviors. Then, "Target is not responding, retrying..." message appears in the console.What should I do?
HiMe and my team designed a custom PCB containing a STM32wb55cc and needed it to be connected with BLE with an application made by ourself. Unfortunately, even if ou board is functionning pretty well with STM apps like with STM32 BLE toolbox for Android for example, with our own app made on App Inventor we can't manage to establish a connection between our microcontroller (the server) and one of our cellphones with the app (the client). We went through a lot of topics in ST Community forum and didn't seem to see the same problem somewhere else. We also went through some workshops provided by STM over the BLE function but we didn't find any solution.If you need more details about our project feel free to ask.We hope we were clear enough about our issue.Best regards

Hi,I am using a STM32WB5MMG module and want to use FreeRTOS in combination with BLE.For ease of programming I am using CubeMX to set everything up. My goal is to have BLE up and running to be able to connect it to a Client. FreeRTOS is being used to communicate with a LTE Modem and several sensors.Currently I am stuck on getting the device to boot up properly.Without the stm_wpan part enabled in CubeMX my code is working fine, but as soon as I enable it, the code gets stuck after power up.I am basically using the BLE_HeartRateFreeRTOS example but added my code to the default taskReally appreciate any help !!Thanks in advance/* USER CODE END 4 */ /* USER CODE BEGIN Header_StartDefaultTask */ /** * @brief Function implementing the defaultTask thread. * @param argument: Not used * @retval None */ /* USER CODE END Header_StartDefaultTask */ void StartDefaultTask(void *argument) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 5 */ app(); /* Infinite loop */ for(;;) { osDelay(1); } /* USER CODE END
I followed the series of video "STM32WB Getting Started" with my P-Nucleo-WB55 board. During the 5th video "Heart Rate Monitor", I flashed the BLE_HeartRate project into my board and since this I have this message :"Target no device foundError in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: No device found on target"I'm on Linux but I tried to do the same thing on Windows and the same error occured. I tried with an other P-Nucleo-WB55 board and I did the same manipulation and the same error occured. I let you screenshot of my errorsNow, I can't flash and run a new code on my two boards. What can I do to reset the Firmware of the board or to solve my problem whereas I can't flash any code on it ?Thank you
I just loaded version 2 of the AT slave firmware on my B-L072Z-LRWAN1 discovery kit and noticed that the current measured over JP3 which heads to the MCU oscillates between 2.5mA and 2.9 uA every 50 milliseconds. When I flashed the device with older firmware I do not see this. how do I stop this oscillation? Is this a bug in the firmware or a feature of something else?
Good Day.I have created a board and some program easily through SWD port and some struggle. i'm using P-NUCLEO-WB55i try to update bootloader using stm32wb wiress stack updater.I saw the link below and set up the hardware for bootloader.https://visualgdb.com/tools/STM32WBUpdater/connecting/When I connected the usb, I could see DFU in FS Mode in Device Manager. And i saw the link below and downloaded ble stack.https://visualgdb.com/tools/STM32WBUpdater/However, an error occurred while downloading. The DFU mode is then invisible to the device manager, and ST-link is not attached.I think the bootloader was downloaded and it was erased when an error occurred.How can I get the P-NUCLEO-WB55 back to its original state?
In testing my LoRa design at 868 MHz on the STM32WL with a digitally compensated TCXO I witness a significant jump in frequency when (what I assume is) a micro-jump of the TCXO occurs. The specification rate this as maximum 300ppb which equates to worst case 260Hz.What we see is receive bit errors and CRC failures every time this jump occurs during transmission, something that does not occur when using traditional analog compensated TCXO.Presumably this has something to do with the CSS (de)modulation. What I was wondering is firstly if this is known issue, and secondly if there was some setting that may allow me to limit or filter the transmit/receive signal and improve or eliminate this effect.
Hello,I build a network that have some coordinators(FFD) and few nodes(RFD) by using;Dev-kit: STM32WB55 NucleoSW: Mac_802_15_4_FFD (from STM32Cube_FW_WB_1.11.0)I want to send a message that will be received by all nodes and all coordinators nearby. As I know it is called broadcast message. I found there are few default defines in example SWs like below in 802_15_4_mac_types.h/** @brief Defines the broadcast PAN ID */#define g_BROADCAST_PAN_ID_c 0xFFFF/** @brief Defines the broadcast PAN ID */#define g_BROADCAST_ADDRESS_c 0xFFFFBut there is no usage for these defines. Is there anything that explaining how to use broadcast message on MAC 802.15.4?Also I tried few different PAN_IDs and adresses but there is no receiving data that I sent.Thanks for any help.
I want to connect to the WB55 USB Dongle with CubeMonitor-RF to scan for my BLE peripherals.I followed the connection guide and flashed the BLE_TransparentModeVCP firmware to the dongle. I also installed the VCP driver under windows. The dongle appears as "STMicroelectronics Virtual COM Port (COM3)" in the device manager.But it still is not responding to a connection request from the CubeMonitor. Is there anything left I could have forgotten to do or set up? Do you have any advice how I will be able to finally connect to the USB dongle?
Hi,Using the P NUCLEO WB 55 with STM32WB .Encountered with below code, regarding HSE tuning, in workshop tutorial. A reference was given to An5024.This code does not exist in my example project, BLE Heart Rate RTOS, generated with STM32Cube 6.2.0 , FW_WB V1.11.0.Should I add it manually? Will this benefit my current working environment above?Code:/* 1 */ #include "otp.h" /* 2 */ #warning “Following code is valid only for P-NUCLEO-WB55 boards and should be reimplemented depending on the target HW and HSE capacitor tuning value storage location.“ OTP_ID0_t * p_otp; /* Read and use HSE_Tuning from OTP */ p_otp = (OTP_ID0_t *) OTP_Read(0); if (p_otp) { LL_RCC_HSE_SetCapacitorTuning(p_otp->hse_tuning); }
Hello,Depending on the datasheet of the STM32WB55 MCU, there is an external resistor for the oscillator circuit. In many Nucleo board schematics, it is not used. The datasheet says that the resistor is to avoid overdriving current. How can I decide that overdriving or do I have to limit the current? Does not the MCU limit the current? The schematic in the attachment is from the STM32WB Nucleo Board.Thank you,Batuhan
Hello everyone,I'm new here, but already made a few developpment on a ST32F7 chip, but now have a question about USB and virtual COM.Is it possible to use the second USB port of the NUCLEO board to make a virtual COM and manage communication with a PC ? I mean, without using STLINK USB port.If so, could you please explain how to do that, and if there are some example and application notes I can find ?Hoping someone may help me and give some recommendations.Have a nice day,KindlyPatrick
