Hi everyone, I'm deep into developing a project that is not only a passion but also a venture I'm financially invested in. I recently ordered a small batch of 50 PCBAs equipped with STM32L476RET6 microcontrollers from a well-known Chinese manufacturer. I've used their services before without any issues, and I’m sure many of you would have heard of them. However, I've encountered a significant challenge and could really use your collective wisdom. I'm experiencing a troubling 50% failure rate with the STM32 microcontrollers across the boards. While there could be various factors at play, one concern I have is the authenticity of the STM chips. I intend to discuss this matter with the supplier, especially since I'm contemplating another order of the same microcontrollers. Hopeful a transparent and open communication will help resolve this issue. I'm attaching a photo of one of the chips on the PCB for reference. It appears genuine and even has the ST logo, but I'm eag

Hi all, it seems that simply copying related files to path doesn't work and the reason is likely to be that the widget hasn't been registered in the new project yet. Wondering how to do the grafting work correctly.

Hello STM community. We developed a wireless charger based on the STWBC-MC chip. Our design follows exactly the ST Eval-Kit STEVAL-ISB047V1.No we are facing a problem with a customer, that the Foreign Object Detection (FOD) does not work stable. In some cases the charger does not detect foreign objects and still transfers power, wich resulted in one case to an overheating of the charging surface (deformation, melting marks and smell). Is there a chance to improve the FOD by tuning the parameters (see picture below)? The description of the parameters is unclear for us and does not help. How can we evaluate proper parameters? Thanks in advance,Sven.

Hi,I purchased new LPM01a board for power consumption analysis. When I am powering it up with usb host port (JP3 -> usb) red led light up. I tried with different hosts (desktop and laptop) but that does not works. I am getting error "Get current range command failed" in STM32CubeMonitor-Power. From google I found out that pc current limit is upto 100mA only. However, in user manual of LPM01, it specified that 500mA is required for working otherwise red led will light up. My first question is, if PC can be configared to deliver current upto 500mA, then how?Alternatively, LPM01 can be also powered from external CN7 jumper with JP3 set to Ext.In this regard, My 2nd  question is:In Ext power mode, data acquisition with STM32CubeMonitor-Power is still possible via usb port (CN5), or only the board display is available?

Figure 669. Message RAM configuration clearly shows that the message RAM is 0x350 bytes long which corresponds to 212 32-bit words. But later the following example is used to show, how the message RAM of FDCAN2 follows message RAM for FDCAN1:As an example, for two instances:• FDCAN1: – start address 0x0000 – end address 0x0350 (as in Figure 669) • FDCAN2: – start address = 0x0350 (FDCAN1 end address) + 4 = 0x0354 – end address = 0x0354 (FDCAN2 start address) + 0x0350 - 4 = 0x06A0.Addresses for FDCAN2 are clearly incorrect since this calculation (0x6A0 - 0x354 = 34C) would mean that FDCAN has only 0x34C bytes instead of 0x350.Can you please clearly list base addresses of each peripheral's message RAM?

Hi all,we would implement SBSFU (Secure Boot and Secure Firmware Update) on STM32U585.Our goals are:application do not use TrustZone feature (TZ_EN = 0)we want to avoid access to MCU on field (Device protection, for exapmle RDP = 1)question: if on field MCU is protected with RDP = 1 or 2 or whatever how could a firmware update take place? we need a regression before firmware update?at start up "mcu boot" check the security/integrity of application firmware: is that right?we want to upload the new firmware via USB connection: we think we should develop our custom bootloader. Correct?in our understading we will develop 2 projects (one project for application + bootloader and one project for mcu boot)how we could "join" the two binaries into a single one? is it possible?A possible scenario for our could be that one:user connects to our device via USB.user want to update the firmware: then from the application we start our custom bootloader.bootloader copy new firmware into a dedicate "upd

The word "OSC_IN" is missing from the following sentence:"When the oscillator is configured in a user external clock mode, only the pin is reserved for clock input and the OSC_OUT or OSC32_OUT pin can still be used as normal GPIO."Should say: "...only the OSC_IN pin is reserved..."

Table 285, register map for general timers, TIMx_SMCR, contains two errors:This shows SMSPE in bit 25, I believe it is actually in bit 24.Also it shows SMSPS in bit 26, I think it is actually in bit 25.Please let me know if I'm mistaken. Thank youRM0440 Rev 4 page 1341, STM32G47xxxxxx

I am running a STEVAL-ILL035V1 board using software downloaded from your site.Downloaded software is LED_DRIVER_GUI7708_1.0.1_130722.exe.Then I connected an additional board STEVAL-ILL035V2 and changed SW7 on ...V1.But now I am not able to control the outputs. Tested with one channel active on each board. Which board output that answered to brightness command could swap when exercising the channel active box. Still only 16 channels presented on the GUI.1.    So, can mentioned software handle dual boards? If so, is there available, any instruction/description of how to control this board combination? If not, is there any other software and description I can get to enable control of 32 channels simultaneously?2.    Additionally I would like to have the spreadsheet for “LED7708 design tool? that is referenced and described in your application note AN4578 in paragraph 4 “Step by step design? on page 32:NOTE: This question and answer originated

I have a product already developed using the M24LR64ER and I need to read and write using an IPhone 14 with IOS 17, would it be possible to read and write using Swift's "import CoreNFC"?

Hello, I am using LwIP alongside a STM32F7. I am very new to network programming and I was wonder why the webpage is not updating when I modify the html code. If I visit the page via the IDE, the changes are there but on a live version of the site, nothing is updated. Is there a step I am missing to reflect the changes I make on the website?

Hello, the last release of TouchGFX has a problem when closed..The problem is that when I close it, the task doesn't close and instead remain open.See the attached image. It appears to be open in multiple instances.

Dear all,is it possible to use CMSIS-DSP with STM32F302XXX? Actually I'm working with NUCLEO STM32F302R8Tx (but final board will have STM32F302RCT6) and I have two issues :1) I am not able to find lib *.a in repository CMSIS_DSP 2) Following this guide Guide I get this error ../Drivers/CMSIS/Include/core_cm4.h:105:8: error: #error "Compiler generates FPU instructions for a device without an FPU (check __FPU_PRESENT)" Is there some hardware limitation?Or am I missing some step? Thank you

I want to use a bidirectional current sense such as ina181 and read the values into stm32g0 Mcu.This does not need to be super accurate (max current is +/- 500mA and just want an idea of if approaching that) but I am struggling to find a canonical circuit that makes best use of the available features of the vrefbuf and is not adding a lot of expense and complexity with external reference when just a ballpark number is needed.it seems like using the Mcu vref+ to bias the zero on the current sense would be the best and cheapest option.is this as simple as resistor dividing  the 2.5v vref pin down to 1.65 (for 3.3v supply and symmetrical +- current) and connecting it  to vref on the current sense amplifier? also I notice a lot of designs  connect vref to vdd so I assume this should not be done if using internal ref. But if I decide not to use the internal vref in the future will it be a problem that it has the divider resistance to  ground connected ?Thankstom&nbs

Hello everyone,I've been pondering the most effective method to disable touch functionality while running my application. It's crucial for me to do so because I'm developing an RF product that could potentially cause interference with touch inputs.Should I incorporate some logic within the function below, or is there a better approach to achieve this?Thank you for your insights! bool STM32TouchController::sampleTouch(int32_t& x, int32_t& y) { /** * By default sampleTouch returns false, * return true if a touch has been detected, otherwise false. * * Coordinates are passed to the caller by reference by x and y. * * This function is called by the TouchGFX framework. * By default sampleTouch is called every tick, this can be adjusted by HAL::setTouchSampleRate(int8_t); * */ uint8_t rx_buf[16] = {0}; if (TouchINT_irq) // if (! HAL_GPIO_ReadPin( CTP_INT_GPIO_Port, CTP_INT_Pin ) ) { TouchINT_irq = 0; if (HAL_OK != HAL_I2C_Master_Receive(&hi2c1, (0x41 &

Hi,after looking into the library code, this forum, and playing for a while with library itself, I'm afraid I know the answer, - yet I'm still required to ask:does TouchGFX (or may be some current or future-planned variants of it) comply with any safety/quality standards and possesses any relevant certification? Like SIL 1/2/3/4, IEC 62304 etc.? Thanks

Hello!I am trying to use DTCMRAM on my stm32h743zi micro. When i use an array located from 0x20001760 to 0x200017d4 there are some positions that do not update, it stays in 0 or "inf" value, but when i use other array located in different location, it works perfectly. My question is..., Is there any reserved directions in this memory that are not allowed to use?  If yes, how can i know which positions i can not use? Thank you so much to everybody!

Hello,I'm using a display with stm32f4 + external memory for image and font. The project runs well using flash in mapped mode. Now I want using flash in indirect mode because I need use part of it for storing info.I implement serial flash datareader and relative bsp methods.Images with ARG8888 format are loaded correctly but images with L8_ARG8888 can't be loaded.Micro goes in fault hadler when it loads L8_ARG8888 image.L8 image format is supported when I use serial flash datareader? If I change format of image from L8_ARG8888 to ARG8888 images are loaded in wrong way. What is the best practise for change type? Thank you Nicola

Hi the community,I tried to use a STM32L552 to create file in a USB key with FatFS but without success.I already create and write file in SD card with FatFS but my aim (after a USB key) is to do it on an external hard drive (so througth USB, the capacity storage of SD cards are too small).Contrary to SD Card, I have to use user-defined and USB Device library. My problem is that my f_open return me FR_NOT_READY, and it is impossible to found an exemple. I tried to use this library ->STM32Cube_FW_L5_V1.3.0\Projects\STM32L562E-DK\Applications\USB_Device\MSC_Standalone\readme.txt but I have the same problem.Has anyone ever managed to do that? Thanks!

Hi, I'm planning to buy STM32H503 board and X-NUCLEO-IKS01A3 to study I3C protocol. Before I buy those, I'm making sure I can program the code for I3C to compile it. and found the document on below link.https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/an5879-introduction-to-i3c-for-stm32h5-series-mcu-stmicroelectronics.pdf It shows how to generate the code with STM32CubeMX, but it doesn't show how to compile and generate the binary to download it. Please let me know how to compile the code that i generate. Do I have to buy complier? Thanks,Luke.

Hello I looking to do Classic CAN communication (Not FD) Between NUCLEO-H7A3ZI-Q and  NUCLEO-F429ZI  in normal mode. I am using MCP2551 transceiver on both boards. I added termination resistors on both side  But i didn't Receive the message. My configurations are: In NUCLEO-H7A3ZI-Q : In NUCLEO-F429ZI : Can you please check if there are any configuration issues?

HiIs there a RedNode plugin / Script for the power measurement with the STLink V3PWR? Or do I need to do that by myself with the UM2269 manual? Thanks in advancenobody

Howdy, im very new with filesystems and SD cards in general.I am trying to develop a system that can manage files from a SD card (images ) and also interface between the PC and the SD card trough USB. I managed to get my stm32f4-discovery working with an USB mass storage device and a SD card conected via SDIO. It works but my stm32f4 blindly writes and reads the sd card when USB mass storage asks for it.I want my stm32f4 to be able to search folders and read/write files from the SD card also ,so i am trying (unsuccesfully) to add the FATFS middleware.I find tutorials about USB+SD card and FATFS+SD card but not all of them together.Am i trying to do something weird here?res=f_mount(&SDFatFS, (TCHAR const*)SDPath, 0);//this returns FR_OK HAL_Delay(200);   //Open file for writing (Create) res=f_open(&SDFile, "F7FILE2.TXT", FA_CREATE_ALWAYS | FA_WRITE);//this returns FR_NO_FILESYSTEMmy code (github)
