Posted on February 17, 2017 at 05:19 Hi, On my larger project, I would like to be able to generate a timer that will trigger an ADC read on each rising edge. I was able to tackle this problem by creating a smaller project and executing it! Super excited. My excitement was a bit dampened when I realized how many interrupts were firing fromthe timer. For this test, I am currently operating my timer at ~123kHz which equates to roughly 8.13uS. While this is fine running on a while(1) loop example, I don't think it will go well with my larger project running FreeRTOS. Now comes the question: Is there a way to set this up where the timer can generate a DMA to trigger the ADC read using the DMA? I would imagine this is the best path forward to minimize CPU usage if possible. That way, I am not firing my interrupts every 8.13uS. If not, what is the best engineering practice? Any example code is greatly appreciated! I just couldn't seem to find any post in this community trying to

Posted on December 19, 2017 at 05:50Hello,I am using the Mikro Pro C IDE to write a simple program to toggle GPIOA pin 0 on a STM32F407VGT6. When I compile I get several errors, but I don't think it has to do with an error in my code, more or less a problem with the IDE I'm using. Hopefully someone can take a look at the program attached and verify the code looks correct.

Posted on December 20, 2017 at 18:20Hello all.HAL uses function 'FLASH_WaitForLastOperation' for polling flash 'BUSY' flag, while performing flash page erase or flash write. How can this function be executed from flash if flash bus is blocked during flash erase? Is CPU simply staying in stalled state instead of polling BUSY flag while a page is being erased?  Is it a bug in HAL or an intentional trick?#waiting-for-page-write/erase-completion

Posted on June 19, 2017 at 13:36Hi,I am working on wireless application and i would like to use energy harvesting mode of M24LR. I have a question about maximum harvested current. Datasheet is mentioning 6mA as the highest value. Is it possible to incrase this value by stronger magnetic field or bigger antenna (i need about 16mA)? Does the chip will handle bigger currents? Or maybe max range 6mA is only value above which energy harvesting output becomes active?I would be grateful for any kind of help.Best regards,Mathew#max-current #wireless #nfc #m24lr #energy-harvesting

Posted on November 06, 2017 at 10:24Hello,I am working on a project is using the M24LR NFC device as an intermediate Communication device between a target temperature sensing MCU and the CR95HF reader. We do not require a 'high bandwidth' throughput, only occasionally will we need to transmit data through the M24LR 'RF visible' eeprom memory. We would like to know if we need to employ Forward Error Correction with our data packets as we are unsure of the reliability of the EEPROM. The data sheet quotes a 'max write endurance cycle endurance' of 1,000,000 cycles. Does this figure mean that 1,000,000 erase/write cycles can be performed to an eeprom block (4 bytes) BEFORE a single failure is expected to occur? Do we need a FEC system at all? Should we employ a 'wear leveling' technique to cycle through memory rather than writing to the same area continuously? Any clarification on this matter would be appreciated. Many thanks,Derick#nfc-tag-type-5

Posted on December 19, 2017 at 20:59Hi,I am developing an application that will be targetted at a number of STM32F/STM32L hardware platforms and wondered if it was possible to determine the CPU type at run-time. CPUID is useful to determine ARM core details etc. and thought there would be an equivalent register for the STM stuff.RegardsFarmerJo#determine-cpu-type #stm32

Posted on June 28, 2017 at 16:42Hello fellow stm32 explorersI am currently trying to communicate on a LAN network between a pc (server) and my stm32F4 discovery + phy module (client) via a UDP protocol.I am using LwIP with the RAW api (also called NO_SYS).I was able to succesfully convert an example from the stm32f4 eval board to work on my hardware. My probleme is that now im trying to recreate the example but from a project made from scratch. The example I've used is using an old version of LwIP which means that now with my new project which includes the newest version of LwIP simply doing excly the same thing as the example I converted does not work because of the changes made to the library. I am looking for LwIP examples for a newer version of LwIP. Ideally im looking for a RAW api UDP client example. Frankly I haven't found much documentation on how to use the RAW api just a list of functions and how to call them.A code with a basic example of a UDP client would be appreciated.I k

Posted on December 16, 2017 at 05:53Hello everyone, this is a problem regarding my DISCO-L072CZ-LRWAN kit which I am using for a project of mine.I am using the LRWAN expansion kit for LoRa functionality while I am also trying to add up a UART as UART1 on Pin 9/10. While using this UART, I am trying to use the HAL drivers especially HAL_UART_Receive function which receives N number of character and has a timeout given by the user which I am giving as 0x00FF. Internally this function takes sysTick using Get_HAL_Tick() but as the LoRa function has initialized all LL drivers, the getting systick function from HAL does not work. Which means that there will be no timeout and I have to specify the number of characters to be received, which is bizarre.I hope you understood my problem. Please try and help with solution or any other alternative. If you have any solution for UART which solves this problem please reply.#b-l072z-lrwan1 #b-l072z-lrwan1

Posted on December 18, 2017 at 05:02Hello everyone,I'm staring a new project with a STM32F303VC, I want to use the ADC peripheral but having trouble getting the Calibration to end. Below is the code that I execute just after the board has initialised, I'm running with a 16Mhz external oscillator and using the PLL to get 72Mhz system clock. The system freezes waiting for the calibration to end here,  while( ADC_GetCalibrationStatus(ADC1) != RESET );Even if I don't run the calibration, the ADC doesn't work. It's like I'm missing some sort of clock, or something else. I've looked at the example for the STD libraries but can't notice anything else I might be missing.Has anyone experience such issue? Posted on October 31, 2017 at 19:51Is there any sample code to put the ST25R3911B into transparent mode?  I have been unable to make the ST25R3911B output OOK in transparent mode.I need this functionality because I'm implementing a proprietary protocol. My configuration/use model: My circuit uses MCU_CLK as required for timingI configure the ST25R3911_REG_OP_CONTROL register to enable TX and disable RXI clear ST25R3911_REG_AUX_tr_am and set ST25R3911_REG_AUX_ook_hr in the ST25R3911_REG_AUX register to enable OOK.I execute the 0xDC command (ST25R3911_CMD_TRANSPARENT_MODE) to enable transparent mode.I configure the MOSI pin to push-pull output I expect changes to MOSI to be reflected when I measure from RFO1 to RFO2, with an oscillating signal (MOSI high), or nothing (MOSI low). But, unfortunately, I don't get any signal on RFO1/RFO2.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Posted on December 15, 2017 at 21:53After generating the code using cube MX version 4.22.1 for STM32L476VG board, I noticed that RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLM does not get assigned to any value in SystemClock_Config().Due to this RCC_PLLCFGR register enables unwanted PLLs.For eg in my case I was expecting only PLLR to be enabled with register value to be 0x1002a71 but it turned out to be RCC_PLLCFGR = 0x7737f71 where PLLQ and PLLP is also eanabled. As any one else noticed this issue?

Posted on December 18, 2017 at 09:15Hello there!I would like to ask what i'm doing wrong in activating the miniAP with my SPWF04SA. I've read SPWF04SA's datasheet, UM2114, AN4964 and most of ''WiFi Training Hands on SPWF04SA module'' pdf. I have 2-3 modules IDW04A1 and a couple NUCLEO-L053R8 boards. In the beginning i just grabbed a USB to Serial converter (FTDI) and used it to communicate with the IDW04A1 module. After communication was OK, i downloaded ''Flash Loader Demonstrator'' version 2.8 and updated via UART SPWF04SA's firmware. The firmware installed is ''SPWF04S-171117-0328fe3-Release.hex''. In the STSW_WIFI004 folder i saw ''SPWF04S-171117-0328fe3-Full.hex'' file. Is this file the same as ''SPWF04S-171117-0328fe3-Release.hex'' ?? (Anyway i haven't tried this one yet).Next i tried some basic commands and some python scripting with AT commands and usb2serial converter setup and everything worked. But when i tried to setup a miniAP, it didn't work out at all. After many tries,

Posted on December 12, 2017 at 02:47Hi,I am using the sample application SPC570Sxx_RLA FreeRTOS SERIAL Test Application for Discovery and my hardware is the SPC570S-DISP board.I found that if i enable the 'Use software timers' in the SPC5 FreeRTOS component RLA, then generate and build the code, and program the board, debug through it, it suppose to stay in the 'vTaskStartScheduler();', but it doen't. It will step through it and fail the sample application. I wonder what is the cause for the failure? According to FreeRTOS documentation, if it run out of heap or other problem, it will step out of the vTaskStartScheduler().Did i do something wrong or the software timer is not supported?BTW, i noticed the Timer task stack depth is 2048, is that too much? I sort of noticed that during my experiment of my application, if i asked for 1000 stack depth for my task, the application will fail. But for the timer task stack depth, the range is 1024 - 8192.Best Regards,Job#spc570s-disp #soft-timer

Posted on December 13, 2017 at 11:43hello,i am trying to send data to pc over the otg used as a virtual com port. The data is received with a terminal program (HTerm). In order to send data i am using the function CDC_Transmit_FS. For a basic test the string 'start' is sent to the pc. Therefor i use the following code. The code is implemented in the while loop of the int main function:while(1){if(((USBD_CDC_HandleTypeDef*)(hUsbDeviceFS.pClassData))->TxState==0){while(CDC_Transmit_FS(((uint8_t*)&'start'),sizeof('start')) != USBD_OK);}}This works and i can receive the data on the terminal program on my pc.What doesn't work: If i try to send 'stop' after the 'start' string.while(1){if(((USBD_CDC_HandleTypeDef*)(hUsbDeviceFS.pClassData))->TxState==0){while(CDC_Transmit_FS(((uint8_t*)&'start'),sizeof('start')) != USBD_OK);}if(((USBD_CDC_HandleTypeDef*)(hUsbDeviceFS.pClassData))->TxState==0){while(CDC_Transmit_FS(((uint8_t*)&'stop'),sizeof('stop')) != USBD_OK);}}what i
