I have a need for short range communication with a very low data rate (4 bytes updated at 2Hz). The application is constrained by size and power. The device is a set of actuators that are to be controlled by a small microcontroller. The 4 bytes contain the data for the actuators. My idea was to use a ST25DV04K tag connected by I2C to a microcontroller. I would then pass data from the reader to the tag and then on to the microcontroller for it to operate the actuator. I am uncertain as to how the data would be passed to the microcontroller. Can the ST25DV04V pass data from the reader directly to the I2C port? Or, would I need to write data to memory in the tag and have the microcontroller poll/read the memory. Is there problem with my concept or is there an easier solution?  Is there an app note or example for something similar? The microcontroller side of the device needs to be simple, small, and low power. For example, I could not use a NFC reader device on the microcontroller en

Hello,I'm working with the STPM32 and I don't understand what I MIN (also referred as resolution) is (Equation 27, page 79 of DS10272 Rev 8).Why if the data is provided in the registers with 17bit resolution, the calculated RMS current resolution is two bit less?In my case I MIN is 2.058mA, and on the device I'm working on I measure 2-3mA even if no load is applied. Is the 'no load' rms current supposed to be always above I MIN?Davide.

Hello, I recently purchased an STM32F429i-eval1 board. I followed the manual, made sure nothing is loose and unseated, and powered on the device. I read that the board ships with a default image that will display in the UI and flash LEDs. When I power on the eval board, nothing happens.I checked the DC input is 5V. I also tried to plug in the STLink debug probe and attempted to reprogram the flash thinking maybe it had somehow been erased or not there when shipped, but the IAR workbench IDE says there was no detectable MCU through the JTAG.Any ideas on what I could have missed or is the unit defective? Thanks, DQ

Hello everyone,I have a problem with the SD card. With the sTM32F750 Discovery kit, 4, 32, 64 and 128 GByte SD cards work perfectly. The interface used is SDMMC.The target system is an STM32H750VBT6. I am using the SDMMC1 interface here. 4 Gbyte SD cards work perfectly. 32, 64 and 128 GB do not work. The lines D0, Di, D2, D3 and CMD have a 47k resistor against 3.3V.After calling the function BSP_SD_Init (), lines D0 .. D3 are set to GND. This is not the case with 4 GByte SD cards.

AN5185 mentions the process to install a new/updated version of the coprocessor binary. My setup:STM32WB5xxE(512K)stm32wb5x_BLE_Stack_full_fw.bin (v1.6.0)I'm able to program the BLE stack using a debug probe (SWD) using the description given in the Copro_Wireless_Binaries Release Notes.AN5185 gives the following instructions to calculate the program address: If new install (no wireless stack currently installed): 0x08000000+(SFSA x 4KB) - ImageSize If a wireless stack is already installed: If new image size <= current image size: WirelessStackAddress - ImageSize If new image size > current image size: WirelessStackAddress - (2xImageSize – WirelessStackSizeIt is advised to perform a FUS_FW_DELETE operation before starting a wireless stackinstallation. (This is performed by CubeProgrammer when option -firstinstall=0 is selected)For case 1 (no stack currently installed) the calculation yields a different address than the release notes:SFSA: 0xF4ImageSize: 164.816 bytes--> Program

When using STM32CubeMX v6.0.1 to generate a project for dual-core STM32H745BIT6 MCU the resulting linker files for CM4 and CM7 show the following memory structures:CM7MEMORY { FLASH (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x08000000, LENGTH = 1024K RAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 128K ITCMRAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x00000000, LENGTH = 64K }CM4MEMORY { FLASH (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x08100000, LENGTH = 1024K RAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x10000000, LENGTH = 288K }The Flash sizes seems to be correct, however the RAM size (128K + 288K) is way too low from the 1MByte which STM32H745BI is supposed to have as shown in the table below. As Clive1 noted in another thread (https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000BZHcaiSQD/linker-script-files-generated-by-stm32cubeide-dont-use-entire-ram-for-stm32h745) apart from adding additional lines in the linker memory structure one needs to also change the startup.s files.Still to avoid improper changes to startup.s files it would be very helpful to have a sample startup.s example where

On page 186 of the datasheet for the STMF407xx the diagram for using USB FS shows that the pairs PA11/PA12 (OTG_HS) or PB14/PB15 (OTG_FS) can be used to connect the USB DM and DP lines. However, the pinout table on pages 52 & 55 explicitly list the functions of PB14/PB15 to be OTG_HS and PA11/PA12 to be OTG_FS. Can pins PB14/PB15 be used for USB FS operation as indiciated by the diagram on page 186 of the datasheet? It doesn't need to appear in windows as either FS or HS, it just needs to work. Thanks

We have designed a motherboard based on the NXP imx8 processor family running linux, and added the CR95HF chip on board connected to MCU over UART interface. We have been successful in sending data in the form of 0x00 (LOW level pulse on IRQ_IN/RX), wait for 110ms and then send echo 0x55, measured on ocilloscope, however we have not yet received any data back from the chip, eg. no response.See code and schematics below. Our main code just runs cr95fh_init() then cr95hf_idn() once before terminating.#include "cr95hf.h"   int cr95hf_init(void) { printf("Before open\n"); fd = open(CR95HF_PORT, O_RDWR | O_NOCTTY | O_SYNC); printf("After open\n"); if(fd < 0) { printf("Could not open %s\n", CR95HF_PORT); return -1; } return CR95HF_SET_INTERFACE(B57600); }   int CR95HF_SET_INTERFACE(int speed) { printf("Setting interface\n"); struct termios tty; if(tcgetattr(fd, &tty)) { printf("Error from tcgetattr: %s\n", strerror(errno)); return -1; } printf("Setting baud s

I am working on a project which needs data communication between two stm32 (f103rb and f429zg). I use stm32f103rb-nucleo examples_ll (I2C _OneBoard_Communication_IT) but it works for one byte and after that it stops working. I want it to work repetitively. I don't know how to make it work in a loop and by pressing the button , communication gets done every time I push the master and slave push buttons. Thanks

I could wake up the controller from stand-by mode but I realized I needed to use stop mode. What needs to happen for the controller to wake up from stop mode when using a wake up pin? Do you have some code examples preferably using the HAL functions?

how to use AT commands in STM32CUBEIDE for sending message call etc

..

I build Projects "NUCLEO-G071RB" in X-CUBE-SBSFU and load "SBSFU.bin" into the board. After reset the board, I download firmware "UserApp.sfb" with SecureCRT by using menu "Transfer > Send Ymodem" , but it failed.I also try to use "Tera Term", it download firmware successfully. But the "Tera Term" only have Windows version.I need download firmware from Linux, Does anybody know which tool can download firmware by YMODEM successfully at linux?

I want to count the steps that the motor takes with DMA and when it reaches a certain number of steps, turn off the PWM timer. How do I read the incoming pulses?

Thank you for helping. When changing from STM32F769NIH6 to STM32F769BIT6That is, when changing from BGA to LQFPI think the software can be used as it is.Is this perception correct?Thank you.

I'm following this tutorial on DMA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsZLgqhqfO0) which at the end shows how to set up the DMA peripheral to continuously perform ADC conversions and store the results in a circular buffer.I am using an STM32F051C6 (different to the one in the tutorial) on a custom development board from my University. I have set up the ADC and DMA using the device configuration tool. I am using PA6 which has a pot connected to it, I have tested this in single shot mode to confirm it works. For some reason the callbacks are not being called and it doesn't seem like the DMA is actually operating (Even though when I call 'HAL_ADC_Start_DMA' it returns 'HAL_OK').I am new to the HAL library and I'm sure I'm probably missing something small but critical. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. I apologize if this has been posted in the wrong place.----------------------------------------------------- EDIT-----------------------------------------------------I dug into the reg

I am using st25dv02k-w2 NFC tag, In my application i want to start a very small DC motor when this tag comes in to RF field of mobile device ... Is this possible ?

Hello everyone, I have been doing some research on these tags for an upcoming project. Its very exciting to read that they can be read/written at up to 1.5 metres. However, what is the maximum range that a iPhone or Android can do this in passive mode, what is the maximum range under active mode? I have been unable to find out this information. I suspect that it will involve antenna size, materials its travelling through etc so something like a best case and average expected case would be superb. In active mode, we have a budget of around 50mAh.Many thanks

The datasheet shows the GPO for the ST25DVxx-IE pulling low indefinitely when a ManageGPO set command is issued. How long is the GPO pulled low after this set command? Is there a way to issue this command on the IOS Tap app? I see the coreNFC command there but it fails with a response error. This may have to do with my chip settings. Do you have any documentation or instructions on how I can issue this command thru the app successfully?Ultimately, we are trying to figure out if there is a way to use the GPO low to trigger a latching switch to turn our microprocessor on and most latching implementations require a low pulse duration > 50ms.

I have a TextArea with a font size for example - 24 and it has a resizeHeightToCurrentText method. How do I prematurely calculate the height myself? Is it possible to get the width of a single glyph?

Hello ST community,I was going through the application note for LIS2DS12 (https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/dm00218428-lis2ds12-alwayson-3d-accelerometer-stmicroelectronics.pdf) which mentions in section 5.9.1 that STEP_COUNT_DELTA can be configured to generate interrupt if a step is detected in a certain time period. Does configuration of this register also apply to the step count value in STEP_COUNTER register?Regards,Anusha

At some communities, some people can use STM32H750 token for 2M kBytes. why? for ecample ARMFLAY's H7-TOOL production ,it's amount of code is much larger than 128 kBytes. could we do copy this ?

I'm using STM32CubeIDE, Settings ->Tool Settings->MCU Post build outputs-> Choose "Convert to binary file(-O binary)", I found that the generated bin file was not the right size. The elf and hex is correct. .elf: 5902KB.hex:2327KB.bin: 655390KBObviously the bin file size is wrong.

Hello, I'm using TouchGFX to create a Scroll Wheel. I created 2 Container and setNumber function as this guide (https://support.touchgfx.com/docs/development/ui-development/ui-components/containers/scroll-wheel/), but I met so much "?" on my Scroll Wheel.Below is my function: (in CustomContainer - LEDMenuElement.cpp)void LEDMenuElement::setNumber(int16_t value) { Unicode::snprintf(led_idBuffer, LED_ID_SIZE, "%d", value); // Unicode::itoa(value, led_idBuffer, LED_ID_SIZE, 10); led_id.invalidate(); }And my code in Screen1View.cpp:void Screen1View::LedScrollWheelUpdateItem(LEDMenuElement& item, int16_t itemIndex) { item.setNumber(itemIndex); } void Screen1View::LedScrollWheelUpdateCenterItem(SelectedTemplate& item, int16_t itemIndex) { item.setNumber(itemIndex); }How I can fix this issue? Many Thanks
