Posted on March 23, 2015 at 22:50Hi- Doc UM1755 says slave header on SPI indicates read/write buffer size by bytes 1-2 and 3-4. If ACI command pkt is bigger than 128 bytes then mast has to send it in 2 SPI write transactions. Does it mean the size for either read or write can't be greater than 0x007F? Or only higher byte matters? In function BlueNRG_SPI_Write_Raw() of SDK_EVAL_Spi_Driver.c from DK1.6.0: if (header_slave[1] >= (Nb_bytes1+Nb_bytes2)) { Does the line above support the understanding that only higher byte matters? thanks! Posted on March 25, 2015 at 16:15Hello, Can you clarify how work function hci_le_transmitter_test?I could not find any description of this method. I found that the test run for just a second, but I thought that the test will continue until the command hci_le_test, is not it? Regards, Andrei Kukenov.
Posted on March 10, 2015 at 08:39Hello,I have Spirit1 IKR02v3.0 development kit. It contains an STM32L151 MCU and Spirit1 RF module. But I use Spirit1 with STM32L162RD MCU for a project. I created my own project on Keil. I ported all the spirit1 firware (stm32 library, hal drivers, spirit1 library, spirit SDKs, etc) to the project. After that I started to include the Spirit1 examples. First, I imported ''BasicPktTest'' from spirit1's library examples to the current project. It worked fine. I used BasicPktTest_A as transmitter and BasicPktTest_B as receiver. 'B' receives the packets correctly while I am sending them from 'A'. Then I enabled FEC (forward error correction) to view this feature. This time the transmitter sends the packets but receiver does not receive them. I tried to figure out the problem but I have no idea. Is there any other configuration or setting about performing FEC on Spirit1. Can someone help me who have any ideas or who worked on a similar project.BR
Posted on March 17, 2015 at 19:27Hi,I have a TI tm4c123gh6pm microcontroller and would like to use the SPIRIT1 with it. Are there integrated API's and functions that I can directly include for a faster implementation, compatible with this controller, used on Code Composer? It's an ARM Cortex-M4.Thanks,Marc #spirit1 #arm

Posted on August 11, 2014 at 11:24Hi,I'm developing a device based on the BlueNRG. I worked on the support of flash BlueNRG from my firmware, but during a flash error occurred (probably due to an incorrect program address). After flash failed BlueNRG does not respond, as in my firmware and through the RF MOTHERBOARD vers. 3.0 (BLUENRG_GUI.exe).Is there a way to restore the firmware? Maybe can I download the firmware via JTAG?Software engineer, Andrei Kukenov.Regards. #recovery #flash #bluenrg #image

Posted on September 23, 2014 at 04:43Hi,according to AN4271 a SAW filter is necessary in order to reduce the spurious emissions above carrier in order to comply with ETSI regulations. This I understand. However, I would also believe that the SAW filter would reduce the spurious emissions below 862 MHz (which is the boarder for -54 dBm ETSI limit). What I don't understand is how the circuit is capable of producing a spurious emission of only -60 dBm at 862 MHz for 27 dBm output (this value is taken from figure 8). The SAW filter used has about 3 dB attenuation @ 862 MHz. The Spirit1 transceiver has about -60 dBm at 862 MHz spurious emissions (AN4110 for 10 dBm output). The FEM has a S21 of 26 dB (small signal gain). I don't know what output level of the Spirit1 that is required to achieve 27 dBm output from FEM, but I guess a bit below 10 dBm.So, -60 dBm (Spirit1 spurious output) - 3 dB (SAW) + 26 dB (FEM gain) = -37 dBm spurious output from FEM @ 862 MHz: Not -60 dBm which is meas

Posted on March 13, 2014 at 16:21I know ''normal modes'' should be used when receiving WMBus or basic packet format frames, in fact the application also read FIFO to get only payload, no preamble and no sync are included. ''direct through FIFO'' put only payload in FIFO, too. Then I think their difference is only about decoding.Am I right?
Posted on March 19, 2015 at 16:11Hello everyone,I'm doing my thesis on some issue involving Bluetooth Low energy, and i've recently bought STM32L152RE with a BlueNRG expanstion board x-Nucleo-IDB04A1..I have downloaded STM32CubeL1, X-CUBE-BLE1 and OSXSmartConnPS. I am using IAR for compiling and debugging.i found out that all the examples for BLE are for STM32L053R8 and STM32F401RE Nucleo boards. Does that mean that i can't run those examples on my board?!!i have already tried running them. Debugging was successful, but when i installed the android app on my phone to test the applications (examples), no BLE devices are listed or found.any help on that? #bluenrg #x-nucleo-idb04a1
Posted on March 17, 2015 at 20:38I am attempting to update my SPWF01SA.11 firmware using the AT+S.FWUPDATE command. I have an apache server running on my PC that contains the Rel. 3.3 .ota file. The exact .ota file is SPWF01S-141106-0950875-RELEASE-main.ota.When I attempt to use the firmware update command, I receive an error that reads 'Invalid F/W image(60783F3C)'. I'm confused as to how it can be an invalid firmware image when I downloaded it directly from the ST website. Is there something I'm missing?
Posted on January 28, 2015 at 23:22Hello, I have few questions:1. Can BlueNRG or BlueNRG MS function as a Central and peripheral role at the same time?2. Can BlueNRG or BlueNRG MS function as a Central and broadcaster role simultaneously?3. Can a BlueNRG central device perform discovery of new peripheral devices while connected to 3 other peripheral devices? Thanks. #bluenrg

Posted on February 25, 2015 at 14:53Hello, I have the following issues with scanning of ble devices: 1. When master has already connected to 1 slave very rarely received SCAN_RSP (just ADV_IND). 2. When master has already conneced to 2 slaves function aci_gap_start_general_discovery_proc returns LE_STATUS_FAILED. Can I run scanning of ble devices when several slaves already connected to master? Posted on February 18, 2015 at 13:55Hi,I' m implementing a driver right on top of the HCI interface.I can get most of the events I need except the ''LE Advertising report'' event.I know the BlueNRG chipset receives a Advertising message from over the air (this is what a external sniffer tells me), but for some reasons, this message gets stuck within the chipset.Does the BlueNRG chipset require a specific initialization to pass the events thru the app? What HCI commands should I send to have the chipset send me this event?Thank you all,
Posted on February 25, 2015 at 18:01Reading some discussions I noticed that some versions allow 3 serial consoles and some my just 1 console. Is it right? There is anyway to ''create'' a second console to uart com?Older versions of UM1695 have the same infos!

Posted on December 26, 2014 at 17:50After firmware update, module does not working.I was using a cople firmware versions:-- SPWF01S-140512-703c969-RELEASE-main.bin-- SPWF01S-140805-3f58d6b-RELEASE-main.bineach one is does not working. As start address I used 0x8008200.After couple tests I decided to read hex flash data from the second Wi-Fi module and write it to the old one. As result - > The old one is working. On the next step I was using STM32 ST-LINK Utility for the flash programing, start from the 0x8008200 address. But module is still does not working...Could somebody explain me what I am doing wrong?
Posted on February 03, 2015 at 13:07HiI have two BlueEnrg devices (IDB04A1 on Nuclear boards). Peripheral is advertise data, similar with iBeacon and updates advertising data content every 10 sec. Posted on February 02, 2015 at 15:43I'm trying to read ADV data sent from a sensor device to my BLUENRG device.I can see the ADV data with a sniffer, but I can't have my device to pass it up to my app. What HCI command should I send to the BLUENRG device so it returns the ADV data it received from the sensor device?Thank you for your help.
Posted on February 18, 2015 at 12:32Hello, I have some troubles while discovering ble devices: no matter what I set the interval scanning (to aci_gap_start_general_discovery_proc function) procedure lasts 10 seconds. Can I somehow reduce the duration of the scan? Regards, Andrei Kukenov
Posted on February 17, 2015 at 11:24Dear All, We designed a RFID reader using the chip CR95HF. We use quite old SRI4K tags. We used the ST lib (lib_SRIX4k.c from the MMY Application Team) that manages this tag. The hardware design follows the typical schematics and bill of materials. Some of our boards work well, other do not and we do not know exactly why. So we would appreciate some help to understand the causes: For instance, when it fails, a deeper analysis says: - The communication between the host and the CR95 uses the UART channel. This communication works pretty well. - the response to the Protocol Select is 0x00 0x00. So, according to the function CR95HF_IsReaderResultCodeOk(), it sounds Ok. - The response to the ''Initiate'' gets weird since it does not correpond to any expected returned codes (i.e. 0x80, 0x86, 0x87 etc.): We got 0x00 and 0x00. Still, according to the function CR95HF_IsReaderResultCodeOk(), it failed. Please, could tell us what the Error Code 0x00 means wh
