Posted on May 15, 2017 at 11:59Hi,I am planning to build a low power 6 low pan network by using coin cell battery.is it possible to run it for months.spsrgf module need 22mA of supply current for transmission and 10 mA for receiving,as my coincell is of 240mAh,how much time i can run the mesh
Posted on May 15, 2017 at 10:53Now I am working with SP1ML(STEVAL-SP1ML868) and SPSGRF(X-NUCLEO-IDS01A4) modules working on 868 MHz frequency. SP1ML(USB Dongle) is connected to my MacBook where I can see what SPSGRF is sending to me in Putty software. SP1ML had a standard firmware, allowing AT commands to facilitate RF configuration, data transmission and reception, using simple point-to-point communication. SPSGRF was programmed using expansion software package http://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/products/embedded-software/mcus-embedded-software/stm32-embedded-software/stm32cube-expansion-software/x-cube-subg1.html. I have two problems with connection between my modules. First of all SPSGRF is sending to me very weird strings shown below: Below I have posted one more images showing the configurations of SP1ML module and code from Keil showing a configurations of SPSGRF module https://codepaste.net/kxohms. I checked: this is not problem wit
Posted on May 10, 2017 at 08:14Hello,What is the recommended procedure to exit (or disable) LDCR mode for the Spirit1?The documentation has the start up procedure for RX, but no mention of start up for TX or the disable procedure for both.http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/application_note/47/50/91/3a/f5/fd/4d/c1/DM00068699.pdf/files/DM00068699.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00068699.pdf I have tried several variations of the following code however the Spirit1 occasionally (but not always) reports MC_STATE = 0x20 or 0x53 or 0x29 during the status refreshes. SpiritCmdStrobeFlushTxFifo(); SpiritTimerLdcrMode(S_DISABLE); SpiritTimerLdcrAutoReload(S_DISABLE); SpiritCmdStrobeSabort(); //In case the Spirit1 is in TX or RX do { SpiritRefreshStatus(); }while(g_xStatus.MC_STATE==MC_STATE_RX || g_xStatus.MC_STATE==MC_STATE_TX);
Posted on May 11, 2017 at 10:33Hi,I would like to build my commercial applications with LoRa and Spirit using ST modules. Is it true, that I have to pay for license, even when I will use ready to use modules? If yes, where I have to buy that license and how much does it cost? I have to join to LoRa/Spirit association? Thanks,Pawe?#spirit #lorawan #lora #license

Posted on April 07, 2017 at 09:28ST-link connectivity issue with some BlueNRG-1 chip Hello Guys, I'm developing one nice application on BlueNRG-1 chip. I'm facing one issue with some of my boards. I have checked out all possibilities. But problem seems to be with some BlueNRG-1 chips or It gets damaged internally after hand soldering. Not Sure! Please problem details below. I have recorded my Laptop screen as well. Please see this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ApoQ_sYKlc Overview: Application having simple 16x7 matrix LED display which is drive from ULN2004 & 74HC595 shift register. UL2004 connected directly through controller's IO and shift registers are connected via SPI of controller. Application should work on 12V supply. So there are 5.0 & 3.3V regulator. Shift register 595 chip having 5V & 3.3V provision via 0E resistor. One source at a time p
Posted on May 05, 2017 at 15:14Hi All,Can we somehow retrieve the handle of service and characteristic of that service form an already initialized BlueNRG-MS module. I need to do this for the following scenario:I initialize a BlueNRG-MS module, add some services and characteristics to it and then shutdown the external processor while the BlueNRG-MS module is still running in initialized state and advertising. Then I connect to the BLE module through an Android App and the module sends a wake-up signal to the external MCU via SPI-IRQ pin. The external MCU wakes up but we do not initialize the BLE module again as it has been already initialized and is directly connected to the Android app. Now, to update the values of characteristics we need the characteristic and service handles but as the external MCU has restarted, we have lost those handles and thus can't update the characteristic values without handles. Is there any way that we can get those handles from the BLE module after the ex
Posted on May 07, 2017 at 08:03There are new laptop computers out that have very high Dot Per Inch (DPI) screens. They use display scaling to make things look the right size. Unfortunately, BlueNRG GUI does not work with the displays and is almost unusable. My understanding is that some flags can be set to allow the Windows OS do the scaling for you if the app does not support scaling: http://www.hanselman.com/blog/LivingAHighDPIDesktopLifestyleCanBePainful.aspxCould you please update BlueNRG GUI?
Posted on May 03, 2017 at 11:18Hello, My question is about BlueNRG-1 .I want to design a about bluetooth master and slave Fixed PIN pairing. But the Fixed PIN seems to be no effect.Specific how should do?Thanks !
Posted on April 26, 2017 at 14:51Hi.So I'm trying to send large amount of data to server (~200kB). I can send and receive smallish amounts ok (<2k), however at 3k the send fails. I'm sending data in 1000byte blobs to respect the 1021byte limit in the socket code.I've added delays and tried smaller sends also, but no luck so far. I coudn't find any applicaple callback to syncronize fe 2k transfers. How should I handle this sort of situation?+WIND:1:Poweron (170111-665d284-SPWF01S) +WIND:13:ST SPWF01SA1 IWM: Copyright (c) 2012-2016 STMicroelectronics, Inc. Posted on January 30, 2017 at 18:15With the BlueNRG-GUI the ACI_GAP_INIT command returns a 'Status' value but in http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/user_manual/6d/a1/5b/6c/dc/ab/48/76/DM00162667.pdf/files/DM00162667.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00162667.pdf, this return parameter 'Status' is missing.
Posted on April 29, 2017 at 15:26Hi,I connect to the SPWF01 via IPv4 and a port forwarding in my router. It works fine, as long I have a IPv4 router / internet connection. When I have a IPv6 connection and DS-Lite it doesn't work. So, is there a possibility to update the SPWF01 for IPv6?Best regards,Florian
Posted on May 02, 2017 at 06:49Dear Developers, if Any of you tried writing .dts (device tree) file for spirit1(X_NUCLEO-IDS-01A4) Radio Module, give suggestions for writing it.
Posted on March 25, 2016 at 06:07I have a X-Nucleo-IDW01M1 board on a Nucleo-F411re board. The board was working fine with some of the example projects. Suddenly it keeps going in and out of deep sleep with the red and blue LED going on and off. Tried to use AT command to set it back to factory default but no luck. Can you advise me how to recover the board?
Posted on March 28, 2016 at 21:15Hi,why after the aci_gap_set_discoverable and after the implementation of aci gap create_connection team advertising disappears and the connection is not established? But if carried out in the reverse order it works.P.S. Bluenrg-MS (Stack mode 3).
Posted on April 27, 2017 at 09:52Hi,I'm currently using the SPWF01SA module to make a POST request on a server. My tests using http://httpbin.org/ went smoothly, but as soon as i try to make the request on the actual server, it responds with an error 307 (temporary redirect). My fear is that the server is forcing me to make a secure connection (as in forcing me to make the request on ' instead of ').I tried using the entire uri ('') as an argument of the AT+S.HTTPREQ command, but in that case the module is responding with 'host not found'.So i guess my question is: is it possible to force the request to be on a secure connection? Or should i avoid the issue by manually opening a secure socket and then writing my request?Thank youMatteo#http #spwf01s
Posted on April 25, 2017 at 14:09I am using an X-NUCLEO-IDW01M1 module to which I send AT commands and I want to authenticate in Firebase.I open the socket and send the information, but the server always responds with an error. Can you help me?
Posted on April 27, 2017 at 07:38Dear Developers, For spirit1(X_NUCLEO-IDS-01A4) , DEVICE_INFO register does not providing much more information about Device part number & version , is there any register Level validity to confirm that shield / Radio IC is 868 or 915 Mhz or any other Frequency shield.
Posted on April 12, 2017 at 20:48Hi,I have noticed that it is not possible to have multiple ACI_GATT_WRITE_CHAR_VALUE per connection event.I have set up the following connection: connection interval of 40ms and connection event length of 21.875ms (the maximum I can while continuing to advertise in parallel).Using a sniffing tool, I see that what is happening is the following:- Master -> Slave : Write Request- Wait for 40ms (next connection interval)- Slave -> Master : Write Response- Wait for 40ms (next connection interval)- Master -> Slave : Write Request- etc.Is that a normal behavior? Why isn't it possible to have the Write response inside the same connection event, and more write reqests?Note that if I use ACI_GATT_WRITE_WITHOUT_RESP (Write command), I don't face the issue, and it's possible to send multiple ones inside the same connection event (around every 700us)Thanks for your help.Christian#bluenrg-ms
Posted on April 26, 2017 at 19:45Hi.....i have worked with 'Getting started with the Contiki OS/6LoWPAN on STM32 Nucleo with SPIRIT1 and sensors expansion boards' and have been successful in creating a 6lowpan network and getting access of the sensor readings on COAP client through sensor-er-rest-example......the thing is that i want to create an application so that i can get the readings of an untrasonic sensor connected to one of the GPIOs of the nucleo board ....but i am not sure how to open and modify the sensor-er-rest-example project in a compiler (eg:keil).... Can any one plz help me find a solution for this , or provide me with a project where i can get to access the sensor data on COAP in 6lowpan network.
Posted on April 11, 2017 at 11:42Hi There , We are currently working on a project using an EEPROM to store sporadic data. The eeprom is a 24AA512 with 512kbits memory, from Microchip. We use it to store datalogging data from our application. The problem is that we sometimes also need to store only 3-4 bytes data and that this eeprom does page or byte write operations identically, meanning that a full page of 128bytes is refreshed even if I choose to write only one byte in a page area, reducing the endurance of the full page of one cycle everytime. This might cause a problem in our application.Could anybody tell me if that is the case too in chips of ST , as the M24512 or M95512 for example? does every single byte write means that the full page has to be refreshed? That point doesn't seem to be clearly defined in the datasheet...thanks in advance for any help.Eric#endurance #byte-write #page-write #eeprom
Posted on April 25, 2017 at 16:22Hi All,I am running BLE peripheral profile application on Mentor Graphics' Nucleus RTOS using STM32 MCU interfaced with BlueNRG-MS module. The application runs successfully and I can connect to the heart rate monitor profile using Android app by ST named 'STM32 BLE Profiles'. One of our requirements is that the BLE module should keep on advertising after we disconnect from it and we shutdown the MCU (Application Processor) and then we should be able to connect to it after MCU shutdown and it should wake up the MCU and start communicating with it normally. We are using SPI_IRQ line of BlueNRG-MS to send the wake up signal to MCU. As the profile has already been initialized on BlueNRG-MS before MCU went to shutdown state, we do not re-initialize the profile on BlueNRG-MS and only local objects used by the application are initialized again after MCU wake-up. The Android app connects to the BLE successfully and BueNRG-MS wakes up the MCU via SPI_IRQ p
Posted on April 25, 2017 at 05:47I am trying to get MAC layer timestamps to synchronize two Spirit1 radios. Even with using interrupts for timestamping at the transmitter and the receiver, the receiver timestamps show a high variance of about 2 ms. Any suggestions? Thanks
Posted on April 22, 2017 at 18:29Hi,I'm working with the module SPBT2632C2A.AT2 and I have changed the default boud rate of the UART inteface at 921600bps. But now I can't comunicate with it. How I can restore now the default 115200 boudrate?#spbt2632c2a.at2
Posted on April 19, 2017 at 21:41I have a SPWF01 with last firmware 3.5 (160129). But i am facing a problem with setup of the time (AT+S.SETTIME).Each time i send the command the module does not answer and make reset after 20 seconds, i send the command the module accept it.I want to setup the time to make a one-way authentication.Do you know what is wrong?
