Posted on August 11, 2017 at 00:54On SPWF01SA - I need to post JSON to the Webserver backend and update the JSON file...Any hints on how this can be done? I can read the JSON file ok from my webserver but I am stuck at the part where I have to send it back and have it update on the filesystem! I have seen some curl examples involving a file but there is not enough detail on how this can be done using a JSON string...Curl seems to blow up on Windows when I try to send a file but that would not help me much either since I cannot send files from within the javascript. My understanding is that and http POST could work and if so what are the steps to get this accomplished?
Posted on June 04, 2017 at 15:15I have been using PIC32 microcontrollers but am looking at switching to the STMicro line of microcontrollers. One thing that Microchip has that is really nice for industrial products is an external PHY chip with a built in 3 port 10/100 switch. This allows 1 port to connect to the microcontroller and have 2 ports to connect to magnetic jacks, allowing you to daisychain devices. This can be seen here:http://www.microchip.com/DevelopmentTools/ProductDetails.aspx?PartNO=ac320004-4 I just wanted to know if anyone knows of anything similar that can be done with the STMicro products out of the box. A driver should be possible to use the Microchip PHY with the STMicro parts, but I have not seen any direct drivers for them. This is a key feature for me when developing industrial devices, so I want to make sure I can make this work before switching platforms. Everything else I do on Microchip devices looks like it can be done easily enough, so this woul
Posted on August 08, 2017 at 01:57I am trying to demonstrate an over the air firmware update of an STM32L476 (Nucleo) with a X-NUCLEO-IDB041 BlueNRG board. I see the example for the STM32L1xx, but it is very difficult to port as it uses the old Standard Peripheral Library. What is the best way to approach this?Ricardo

Posted on July 31, 2017 at 10:03We are looking for a new wifi module. And was thinking of using the SPWF04SA from ST.But now I can see that ST has chosen another wifi module for their STM32L4 Discovery kit IoT node.Does anyone have an Idea why they have chosen an Inventek module instead of ST's own module?(Our application has to be able to connect to a cloud services maybe aws or azure.)looking forward for you inputs.Best regards and thanks.. #wifi-module
Posted on August 03, 2017 at 00:40Are there any open bugs related to ID 2131: Slave abruptly disconnects if any non-empy packet is received after an encryption failure?I'm bonding a device with an iPad using the 'just works' model. After clearing the bonded list on both the iPad and the device, bonding proceeds fine with no errors. But after a disconnect and reconnect, the application sends ACI_GAP_SLAVE_SECURITY_REQ and I get the symptom described in release note: The slave sends a HCI_DISCONNECTION_COMPLETE_EVENT to the application, with Reason=0x3D (Connection Terminated Due to MIC Failure).Any work arounds or is this a new bug?
Posted on June 24, 2017 at 00:30Dear Colleagues,I'm developing a real time application which I need around 128 kbps of BLE application throughput.Inside BlueNRG package there is a Throughput demo that shows how to implement a simple throughput test between two BlueNRG devices. In my case I have configured the following scenario:STM32L053R8+IDB04A1 (as a SERVER) and STM32F030R8+IDB05A1 (as a CLIENT),The throughput demo used is the 'SampleAppThT' with THROUGHPUT_TEST parameter defined in both sides (V2.8.0 / 10-Feb-2017) . Using the original code I got around 155 kbps in the throughput test (only calculated by the SERVER side). After this, I only did the following changes in the original code provided by ST:1) Uncomment PRINTF command --> SERVER SIDE (sample_service.c)while(aci_gatt_update_char_value(sampleServHandle, TXCharHandle, 0, 20, data)==BLE_STATUS_INSUFFICIENT_RESOURCES) { // Radio is busy (buffer full). Posted on June 29, 2017 at 00:48Hi, I'm using a BlueNRG-MS attached to an STM32l4 via SPI. I've got the connection working all right. When I try to define a custom service with 6 characteristics, the first 2 work fine, but the rest of the aci_gall_add_char(...) calls return 0x1F, Out of Memory. I can't believe the BlueNRG chip is already out of memory with just one service and 2 characteristics. What am I doing wrong? Here's the code I'm using to set it up:HCI_Init(); BlueNRG_RST(); tBleStatus status;uint8_t hwVersion = 0; uint16_t fwVersion = 0; getBlueNRGVersion(&hwVersion, &fwVersion); BlueNRG_RST();uint8_t bdaddr[] = {0xaa, 0x00, 0x00, 0xE1, 0x80, 0x02}; aci_hal_write_config_data(CONFIG_DATA_PUBADDR_OFFSET, CONFIG_DATA_PUBADDR_LEN, bdaddr); status = aci_gatt_init(); if (status != 0) { while(1); } uint16_t default_service_handle; status = aci_gap_init_IDB05A1(GAP_PERIPHERAL_ROLE_IDB05A1, 0, 10, &default_service_handle, &de
Posted on July 28, 2017 at 13:42for example the datasheet offers this command'AT+S.SOCKDW=<sid>,<cid> <len><cr>{data}'this is the format if UART is used, but at no point is explained how I do this with SPI! All thats written is:'To map an AT command in the equivalent SPI command, the following procedure applies:1. Use the corresponding CMD ID specified in Table 1: 'SPWF04Sx commands' and fill the 4th bytes of the master packet.2. If optional parameters are available, count the number of comma-separated items after the “= character and with that number the 6th byte of the message. Starting from the 7th byte, start to write 1 byte containing the field lengths and then copy the field bytes. Then continue with the remaining parameters.3. Once the full payload has been filled, calculate the full message payload lengths and accordingly fill bytes 1 and 2 in the SPI message packet request.'Do I just add bytes after the last parameter and adjust the payload length
Posted on July 21, 2017 at 09:37Hi there, i'm trying to establish a communication between nucleo64 stm32f401 with idb05a1 bluetooth module and a sensor tile. I can make 2 nucleo 'talk', but i can't do it with the sensor tile. In my project the nucleo is sending data and the sensor tile should receive. So my question is, how could i do this? could you give me some guide lines to establish a proper bluetooth connection? Ty all for the support

Posted on July 26, 2017 at 11:35Dear All,I'm using BLUENRG-1 working on a beacon project. And the problem for me is that can bluenrg-1 advertising after connect by APP or phone?Base on BlueNRG-1_2 DK 2.5.0.As follow steps I try:1. set 'undirected scannable and connectable 'aci_gap_set_discoverable(ADV_IND, 800, 1600, PUBLIC_ADDR, NO_WHITE_LIST_USE, 0, NULL, 0, NULL, 0, 0); 2. while connected, in hci_le_connection_complete_event,set discoverable = 'scannable non connectable'aci_gap_set_discoverable(ADV_SCAN_IND, 0, 0, PUBLIC_ADDR, NO_WHITE_LIST_USE, 0, NULL, 0, NULL, 0, 0);And I get an error: 0x0c = ERR_COMMAND_DISALLOWEDIs bluenrg-1 not support advertising mode after connection? Or there's some missing steps for my code? if not support this work mode now, there's any plan to support this? There's reasonable for beacon that can still advertising while connected . Can any one give me some usefull information? Thanks!#bluenr
Posted on July 13, 2017 at 12:06Hello all,I am new using the bluenrg-1, I would like to create an application to download into the ble module but not really sure from where to start, how to do it.I have done some test communicating with the ble using uart to send commands and it is working but now as I said I would like to download an app to just blink a led connected to one of the gpio. Can someone help with this.Thank you in advance

Posted on July 18, 2017 at 16:44Hello,Pretty new to this tiny jewel, I have trouble understanding how everything is architectured. When reading the ``datasheet'' (DocID028866 Rev 3), it seems [see fig.1] that the Cortex-M0 core is connected through an AHB to the Blue peripheral. It is mainly the same with other peripherals [ie. ADC/RNG/SPI... -through a bridge to APB].What I would have then expected in the ``datasheet'' would have been to find for the Bluetooth peripheral a section that would be similar to those that can be found for ADC/RNG/SPI ... Is there a good reason for which this is not the case ?Is it possible to find such a documentation elsewhere/am I missing something [clearly-yes]...?I guess the main reason why there is no such thing is that developers shall use the stacks provided by ST and not tinker with registers directly... I am pretty ok with that, but I don't know whether it is the right way of thinking or not...Other questions about the stack and the interactions wi
Posted on July 18, 2017 at 13:59i'm working on a BLUENRG_CSP device and i've retained the ble section similar to the Sensor Tile STLCS01V1,my BLE is initializing but not advertising.i'm able to read the device ID,only difference i can see with respect to Sensor tile is BLE Firmware versionSensor Tile Version is 7.2.cmy device version is 7.1.ecan somebody please guide me through, what could be the problem, also Can you confirm that 7.1.e is for 32MHZ or 16 MHZ. Should i worry about frequency if so, Is there any option to update the BLE firmware. Thanks & Regards,Puneethashankar
Posted on July 13, 2017 at 23:05I need to adjust the Advertising Intervals (min/max) associated with the ''Bluehci_Gap_Set_Limited_Discoverable'' command which is described on pages 30-31 of the UM1755 BlueNRG Bluetooth LE stack ACI User Manual (linked on the BlueNRG product page). This command has the parameters: where I need to understand the details of Adv_Interval_Min and Adv_Interval_Max.However no details are provided. The User Manual says this about these parameters: and in the detailed listing of the command parameters, these two parameters are entirely missing! Can you please provide details for these two parameters: Adv_Interval_Min and Adv_Interval_Max How many bytes each?If > 1 bytes are they big or little-endian?What are the time units? In other words, if I specify a value of 1 (decimal), what will the corresponding advertising interval be?If this informa
Posted on July 17, 2017 at 19:04Hi all,Following the schematics for the http://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/products/ecosystems/stm32-open-development-environment/stm32-nucleo-expansion-boards/stm32-ode-connect-hw/x-nucleo-idw01m1.html and the schematics for the http://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/products/evaluation-tools/solution-evaluation-tools/communication-and-connectivity-solution-eval-boards/steval-idw001v1.html where the LEDs are connecting from the pins to ground. There is a new schematic (http://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/products/evaluation-tools/solution-evaluation-tools/computer-and-peripherals-solution-eval-boards/steval-3dp001v1.html) that I have just encountered that has these said LEDs are connecting to the pins from a 3.3V source. Which one of these schematics are correct?I am having the issue where the LINK LED goes off after it makes a successful link. This does not seem to be correct and it would seem that the link LED should light up once a succ
Posted on July 17, 2017 at 13:26Hi, I'm trying to use the SPWF01SA module (IDW01M1 expansion board) like an HTTP server to send some POST response to an iPhone app. Now I'm able to open a TCP Server on the 80 port, shutting down the HTTPD server. But when I try to send even a simple HTTP GET with my browser or the app I can't see no data on the socket. The only thing that I can see is that the client joined the server but then the browser times out and left the connection. Is there any way to setup the module to receive POST request and provide the correct POST response? Is it possible to use or modify the internal HTTPD server?I'm using the 160129-c5bf5ce-SPWF01S firmware#spwf01sa #http-post #socket-server
Posted on July 12, 2017 at 09:32We are using the SPWF04 SPI and have the following issues1) No Ack after TCP socket data packet sent:I can setup a client socket or a server socket and start streaming data but at some point the SPWF04S does not ack and 20 seconds later the module resets. (This 'lockup' is random and can be from a few seconds to 2 minutes)There is no ack interrupt from the moduleWe have tried to send differnt sized packets (512 to 3k, with same 'lockup'2) A UDP server socket is opened and the data received via the WIND 55 process. My problem is that 30% of the messages have a faulty byte in the message, i.e. {\'TimeRequest\'}' or '{\'TimeR quest\'}'. If the first byte is incorrect it is always a 0x80 but the byte that is incorrect in the message is always a 0xFF3) How do I reply to a UDP broadcast received on the UDP server socket? If I send a reply via the current socket I dont receive it on the remote side.#spwf04 #spi
Posted on July 09, 2017 at 09:36Hi, I've got problem with SPBTLE-RF module while it's in CENTRAL role and it's scanning devices.
