Posted on December 08, 2017 at 12:02Hi,using newest fw and x-cube 3.1.0 in an UDP ping-pong application I can get no more than about 3kBytes/s.I guess the reason is the 'Socket Query for SPI interface may stall ...' 'known limitation' mentioned in the Release Notes. We need at least 10times that throughput: > 30kBytes/s.Is it possible to achieve 30kBytes/s using UART?Are there SPI fixes I could test? Some github like beta repository?tnx & best regards#spwf04sx #uart #spi

Posted on December 11, 2017 at 09:32Im using SP1ML with the original firmware in standby mode. the unit is going in and out of standby mode using a Timer 7 (4s awake) and RTC (4s asleep) I am getting the following current readings when toggling in and out of standby. Every now and again the unit draws 0.22mA as if a clock or IO did disable correctly. i.e toggling every 4s:<0.01mA (standby), 13.9mA (awake), <0.01mA, 13.9mA, <0.01mA, 13.9mA, 0.19mA, 13.9mA, 0.2mA, 13.9mA, <0.01mA, 13.9mA, <0.01mA, 13.9mA,0.2mA, 13.9mA, <0.01mA, 13.9mA,<0.01mA, 13.9mA,<0.01mA, 13.9mA,<0.01mA, 13.9mA, 0.2mA,<0.01mA, 13.9mA,<0.01mA, 13.9mA, etc etcI disable all the clocks and peripherals I enabled.then call PWR_EnterSTOPMode(PWR_Regulator_LowPower, PWR_STOPEntry_WFI);Any Ideas why it would have this irregular current events every few random seconds?

Posted on December 08, 2017 at 23:55Hi I am using STEVAL-FKI868V1 kit with my custom microcontroller board. I tested simple code of 'SDK Basic Generic A' where S2LP kit board is configured as transmitter, I am using other kit board with Nucleo L152R as reciever, and I can see the data received in the S2LP-DK utility app. Although I modifed the code for transmitter to transmit in a loop rather than getting an interrupt on GPIO and clearing the interrupt register in the IRQ handler. I had to do that since I am facing a problem with S2LP - GPIO config - I am not able to config the GPIO for generating an interrupt on any condition listed in Table 57 of S2LP datasheet. Can anyone help me or share his code for configuring GPIO for interrupt condition? Thanks in advance.. Silas#s2-lp
Posted on December 06, 2017 at 17:31Hi Has anyone successfully used a chip antenna with S2-LP? Any recommendation for 868Mhz center frequency? I am looking at this chip antenna from Yageo (http://www.yageo.com/documents/recent/An_SMD_870_1204_CHE_01.pdf). I need to use chip antenna option for the space restriction reasons. Posted on December 05, 2017 at 20:40Hello!Using the SPWF04SA with the new 1.1 firmware, we have one site that we can't get to work: www.ssllabs.com.While we can connect using SOCKON without issue, when we send even the most basic http request, we get back a '400 Bad Request' error from the server. If we send the exact same request using 'openssl s_client -connect www.ssllabs.com:443'; on a desktop, we get back the data that we expect. Connecting with browsers works but then when trying to send the exact same request they do, the module still gets back bad request. The commands that we are sending:AT+S.SOCKON=www.ssllabs.com,443,,ssllabs.com<cr>AT+S.SOCKW=0,41<cr>GET / HTTP/1.1<cr><lf>Host: www.ssllabs.com<cr><lf>;<cr><lf>If we instead connect to just 'ssllabs.com', no 'www', we get back the expected '302 Found' response. The certificate we loaded has the subject key ID '68:90:E4:67:A4:A6:53:80:C7:86:66:A4:F1:F7:4B:43:FB:84:BD:6D'.

Posted on November 28, 2017 at 06:56 Hello! I have a problem with BlueNRG chip (old one, NOT BlueNRG-MS). I made a custom PCB with STM32F407VGT6 and BlueNRG on it and try to setup. In MCU test firmware there aren't any functions that used for commutication with BLE chip. When I turn on my device, I always notice that there is a VCC voltage on IRQ pin of BlueNRG. According to documentation this means that there is some data to read. Strange! What data should I read, if I haven't sent any command?.. Ok, I read it. First send a read header and recieve this: status = 0x02, write buffer = 0x3F and read buffer = 0x After that I get this array of bytes: 0x04, 0xFF, 0x03, 0x01, 0x00, 0x01. The first question is: what is it? How should I interpret it? Next, I want to send some command and watch response. I tested HCI_Reset, HCI_Read_Local_Version_Information, HCI_Read_Local_Supported_Commands, HCI_LE_Read_Buffer_Size... Every time I get this response: 1. Header is: status = 0x02, writ
Posted on December 02, 2017 at 01:01The reference manual reads as those pins should be 'w/o pull', however I measure the pins being pulled high during sleep on the bench. The language in the reference manual is confusing (pasted below), because all three bullets imply the same thing, that the pins should be in high impedance state.'All the IOs are in high impedance under reset. In low power modes (sleep and standby) the IOs are configured as follows: IO0 to IO8 and IO14 are in high impedance stateIO9, IO10, IO11 are in input state w/o internal pull according to IO configurationIO12 , IO13 are in input state no pull'#sleep-mode #sleep #bluenrg-1
Posted on November 28, 2017 at 11:47Hi I have a BlueNRG-MS peripheral device, that requires pairing for encrypted data transfer. Overall it works, but when cancelling the paring procedure from the central (IOS) then the following reconnect attempt fails to start the paring procedure. If I let the pairing prompt on the IOS dev timeout, a get EVT_BLUE_GAP_PAIRING_CMPLT with result = 1 ( timeout)And if i actively cancel the pairing on the IOS device, then i get a get EVT_BLUE_GAP_PAIRING_CMPLT with result = 2 ( Failed). In both cases the peripheral terminates the connection. The behavior above is expected, but the issue is when trying to do a reconnect and restart the pairing procedure. In the timeout situation, the pairing procedure can successfully be restarted at the next connection attempt, but for the 'active cancel' situation, the aci_gap_slave_security_request returns 12 ( ERR_COMMAND_DISALLOWED), and the
Posted on November 30, 2017 at 09:37Hello everybody! Is there a possibility in SPFW04 to POST and GET via HTTP not only from RAM, but from external SD card? Another question is whe i can`t create file bigger than 15360 bytes on external SD card?
Posted on April 27, 2017 at 10:53Hi,I am working on a x-nucleo-IDB05A1 together with a nucleo-L073.I would need to advertise Eddystone/iBeacon datas and be connectable at the same time.My problem is that I can emit beacon data but when I put the device into connectable mode, the beacon stops.I would need a solution that allows me to emit beacon data and be connectable at the same time.Does someone knows (if such a thing is possible), how to achieve it?Thanks in advance,Raphael#ble #beacon
Posted on June 23, 2017 at 16:24Hi guys,I'm using a spblte-rf module on a custom board.Correct me if i am wrong, but from what i understood the master module will ask the module for data every 'connection interval'. i.e if this interval is 1s, the phone will ask my spbtle every 1s.Here's the problem: even if a modify the connection interval into the aci_gap_set_discoverable function, I can see no changes in the behavior of my device (my device show the same consumption with a 7.5ms or 4s connection interval) . I also tried with a IDB05A1 on a nucleo board and got the same results. So it seems that the phone doesn't take this parameter into consideration, even tho i can see the connection interval parameters into the advertising frame. Is there a way to force the phone to use these parameters, does this time depends on the application, on the phone itself ?Thanks in advance regards,Raphael#spbtle-rf #bluenrg #ble
Posted on November 28, 2017 at 07:28I'm measuring ~1.7mA @ 3V in SLEEPMODE_CPU_HALT and SLEEPMODE_WAKETIMER modes. This is with all peripherals disabled except NVM and SYS_CONTROL.The datasheet indicates:Sleep mode: 32 kHz XO ON (24 KB retention RAM) ------- 0.9 uA typActive mode: CPU, Flash and RAM on ------- 1.9 mA typI expected halting the CPU to result in a much lower current draw than 'Active mode', however it seems to be pretty much the same and to be the same as SLEEPMODE_WAKETIMER.I measure an expected <20 uA in SLEEPMODE_NOTIMER.Appreciate any help,-David
Posted on November 21, 2017 at 11:46 Hello, I know my question is simple but the answer, I think, is not as simple. Here is my use case: I would like to exchange a small amount of data between a PC (client) and a remote device (server) quickly and often The PCrole is to - open a TCP connection to the server socket - start and stop application exchange - process the data. The remote devicerole is to - provide Wifi AP - listento a socket server - execute the command send by the PC - send data periodically I'm okay to create a server socket, use SPI protocole, and send data between them BUT I find very annoying the WIND notifications system to know there is pending data. Is it possible to disable the WIND notifications (with the WIND mask) and to use the IRQ line to signal only when application data have been received on the socket server? My dream would be : once the initialisation is over, to disable the notification and only use write and read socket command to manage

Posted on November 27, 2017 at 01:14Hi I planning to use either SPIRIT1 or S2-LP for my project on WMBus. Refering to the schematic (http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/layouts_and_diagrams/schematic_pack/d0/6d/01/df/b4/8f/43/75/steval-ikr002v4b_schematic.pdf/files/steval-ikr002v4b_schematic.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.steval-ikr002v4b_schematic.pdf), there are these four resistors (R6-R7 in the lower left corner) which are soldered for the selected operation frequency. These are shown to be connected between GND to GND !! Can anyone explain how do these resistors work and affect the frequency of operation? It may be that these are placed on the PCB exactly at the position needed so that the board will operate at the selected frequency. I am not sure and it is very confusing without any information. Would anyone please explain?Really appreciate your help!!Thanks in advance!Silas#balun #spirit1-wmbus
Posted on November 19, 2017 at 15:19I'm facing a serious issue with the BlueNRG-1 chip. Its flash sometimes gets corrupt on power up. It is happening due to slow discharging of bulk electrolytic cap of 100uF. When I remove capacitor then it works fine but I can't remove capacitor because I will power this board with the external adaptor in the field. In general all power adaptor has capacitors at the output. So How to solve this problem? Anyone please suggest. I would be really thankful.Thanks#bluenrg-1-flash-gets-corrupt-on-power-up #flash-corrupt
