Forum needs to save drafts!

The old forum used to save drafts of replies.

So, when this happened:

 

You could try again - and not lose everything you typed.

This worked whether it was a forum error, a network error, user error (closing the page before hitting ‘Send’) or whatever.

 

We really need this feature back - I have just lost two posts!

Actually, it seems they were not lost.

The forum discarded them both, but now both have appeared!

After writing a response in a thread, I clicked “Send”, the text from editor disappeared and immediately the red line appeared above the emptied editor pane:

As shown, I did not have the “Leave a reply” text in the editor pane at that moment.

After reloading the given thread, the post I’ve been just written *was* there, complete as far as I can judge.

This is rather upsetting.

Yes, this does seem to work most of the time - but not always; eg,
