ST has introduced an IO-Link reference design for industrial beacons and home-appliance alarms, delivered ready-to-use as a fully built board complete with protocol stack and application software. The EVLIOL4LSV1 board leverages ST’s L6364Q dual-channel IO-Link transceiver to handle communications and the IPS4260L intelligent low-side power switch for driving the indicator lights. The board can be directly connected to signaling systems such as smart tower lights used in factory automation, funnel material alarms for quantity-remaining or urgency-level awareness, and other system warnings. Accelerating the design of gallium-nitride (GaN) power supplies (PSUs) that deliver superior efficiency and power density, STMicroelectronics has launched the EVL250WMG1L resonant-converter reference design based on the MasterGaN1L System-in-Package (SiP). ST’s MasterGaN SiPs combine GaN power transistors with gate drivers specially optimized to ensure fast and perfectly controlled switching. Using these SiPs in place of an equivalent network of discrete components helps maximize performance and reliability while also accelerating design and saving PCB space. The new reference design targets industrial applications where space is limited and efficiency is critical. Combining the MasterGaN1L, which contains two 650V 150mΩ GaN FETs, with ST’s L6599A resonant controller, the PSU achieves peak efficiency over 94% and operates without heatsinks on the primary side. ST has revealed a flexible power-management IC for highly integrated processors like Stellar automotive microcontrollers that lets users program the power-up sequence and fine-tune output voltages and current ranges to fulfill system requirements. The SPSB100 can be used throughout vehicles, in zonal control unit (ZCU), vehicle control platform (VCP), body control (BCM), and gateway modules. The SPSB100, with three switched-mode buck converters and two linear voltage regulators (LDOs), supplies the voltage rails required for the system microcontroller and can power external peripheral loads and sensors. Additionally, there are two wake-up inputs and advanced failsafe functionalities. An internal boost controller stabilizes the power during transients such as cold-cranking pulses, start/stop operation, and weak battery conditions. The L99MH98 can drive four external full bridges, eight half bridges or single high-side/low-side powering mechanisms such as seat-position adjusters, window lifters, sunroofs, pumps, seatbelt pretensioners, and other actuators. The L99MH98 can also drive resistive loads such as heaters, and the internal circuitry contains a charge pump whose output can control a reverse-battery protection MOSFET. While the drivers can control both logic-level and standard-level MOSFETs, extended gate current capability, programmable up to 120mA, permits driving large numbers of external MOSFETs. The STPMIC25 power-management IC for STM32MP2 microprocessors is now available, with 16 channels to supply all the MPU power rails as well as system peripherals in one convenient package. Completing the hardware design requires only a small number of external components to provide filtering and stabilization and the STEVAL-PMIC25V1 evaluation board is available now to start development immediately. The IC contains seven DC/DC buck converters and eight low-dropout (LDO) regulators, with an additional LDO to provide the reference voltage (Vref) for system DDR3 and DDR4 DRAMs. Among the eight LDOs is a dedicated 3.3V channel to supply USB High-speed and Type-C PHY ICs. There are also general-purpose LDOs that can be assigned to power circuitry such as memory card interfaces and Ethernet ports. The buck converters are optimized to power the MPU’s CPU, core circuitry, GPU, I/O and analog domains, with additional channels for DDR RAM supply and a general-purpose auxiliary output. The conver

Suited to applications up to 500V, the PWD5T60 integrates a gate driver and six power MOSFETs with RDS(ON) of 1.38Ω, enabling the device to achieve an outstanding energy to area rating. Zero-drop bootstrap diodes are also built-in, requiring minimal external components to complete the circuit in only 30% of the board area of an equivalent driver built with discrete components.
