CubeMX update to 6.1.1 wrecks IDE and generates many many errors - how to fix?

I changed one (1) pin in CubeMX and then it updated to ver 6.1.1 while generating code. Now CubeIDE does not work. I cannot clear the many errors (see attached screen print) and the debugger is locked out generating even more errors. How do I fix this?
