STMCubeIDE 1.7.0 configuration frozen

I have a project created by STM32CubeIDE 1.7.0. Its now impossible for me to change the device configuration, e.g. adding a new peripheral or change anything in a defined peripheral. The device configuration seems to work, but the code generator does not change anything in the source files. It used to work, so any ideas?

Ok, got it. The project is located in a Dropbox folder, and apparently the configuration tools don't like it when Dropbox is syncing. So, in order to change the configuration I need to pause syncing for the duration. BTW, Microsoft Visual Studio also doesn't like Dropbox syncing.
