Other versions using very stale build with known issues.
I might guess licensing or pressure from MS and support of EXFAT.
I'd prefer to see FATFS as an available alternative.

right. now your forced to Azure rtos, because filex only working with enabled Azure.
and "old" fatfs working fine with exfat (has : enable : exfat in settings).
i tried azure+filex now some hours over the last 4 days, just as i feared: cannot mount old 64GB sdcard, i always use for my first tests. and a new 2GB (fat32) card after some 30..40 starts now also no more mount.
and i never write anything !!! only mount and read directory (first entry..called). so very suspicious .
i dont want use filex anymore.
i want fatfs from Mr. Chan again. this never made such curious problems.

I've used newer versions of FATFS on larger volumes (think 200-400 GB), the 2017 versions ST shipped have integrity issues in stress tests, but these were fixed on more recent versions, however ST never bothered to migrate to these. I used my own builds/ports.

Oo , never had the idea, STM still having 6 year old version as "standard" . perfect, fine.
so i put in actual version of fatfs , together with Azure core . :) seem working good now. mount, readdir ok.
Thx for your info .
