Using the STM32F0 ADC in DMA one shot mode and polling when the DMA is not enabled?

I have configured the ADC in discontinuous mode and sampling 6 channels using DMA which is configured in one shot mode. Also, I would like to poll for the ADC conversions for other channels when the DMA is not active. The DMA is enabled from a timer ISR. Is this feasible?
