    Dear Moderator,

    Thank you for your response.

Yes, I have already seen those documents. However what it states is that maximum 15pF for load capacitance and condition with ESR = 30kOhm.

This means that 30kOhm is OK.

However, I am going to produce a mass produced consumer product, so I want to choose the cheapest possible watch crystal for the LSE.

    http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resources/prod_documents/doc8011.pdf

in this Atmel document for what I am looking for the STM product. Some hard facts to follow.

In other words, I want to choose the cheapest possible 32KHz crystal that is safe to use, and it will be operating all the time for years even when the main HSE clock is stopped, for RTC operation. So I do not want it to fail.

    Regards,

Sorry for posting this document in the main section, it was intended to appear in the 32kHz clock, posted 12-09-2007.

PS I first pressed reply, which I thought was approriate, but I was fooled by the header ''Send Private Message'' which I did not intend...I wanted it to appear pulic in the forum. Of course I realize now that the appropriate button is ''Reply''.DS
