how to connect usb stick to Nucleo board

Hi,
I am using NucleoF401re board.
I required to connect usb stick to the nucleo. i got following link with guidance. But i don't have LM3526 right now. So, is there any alternative to avoid LM3526 ic.?
Or if i connect Vcc directly then will it work?
