Hi,

1. Why some configurations of STM32G0B1CCT6 don't use an external clock for HSE?

2. STM32G0b1 can support USB C PD protocol?

best,

  1. Can you please give some information on which configuration you think does not support HSE?
  2. Yes, G0B1 supports UCPD.

Well, the STM32G071B-DISCO gets its clock from the MCO of the included ST-LINK/V2-1 via SB5. If you actually really want to rebuild the DISCO and use the HSE, you have to remove SB5 and populate components X3, R41, R44, C42 and C43.

Hope that helps?

Good luck!
