In my  project, i will  to communicate with a cluster of cars that support the CAN FD protocol, operating at a baud rate of 500 kbit/s with a data payload of 12 bytes.  my plan to interface this communication with a NucleoH745zi-Q board, which supports CAN FD. However, i  currently have  an MCP2551 transceiver designed for classical CAN .

can'i do this communication with NucleoH745zi-Q board and MCP2551 transceiver !!!

thank u

Hello,

You can use it if your CAN bitrate doesn’t exceed 1Mb/s according to your tranceiver’s datasheet:
