I would like to start a project with the STM32MP157D microprocessor but cant find the power management chip due to supply issues and I do not know any suitable replacement.

Thanks!

Hi @daded.1 ,

Maybe your prototyping could be done using STM32MP157D-DK1 or STM32MP157D-EV1 board (on EV1, is it possible to use the daughter board alone).

Alternatively, you could probably find suitable modules using STM32MP157D on 3rd party vendors (e.g. partners, but not limited to).

Otherwise, it is possible to use the STM32MP1 without STPMIC1. Some low power modes will not be available. Please refer to AN5031 and AN5256.

Regards.

As you can see from the datasheet, the STPMIC1 is available in several options:
The STPMIC1A, STPMIC1B, STPMIC1D and STPMIC1E are pre-programmed devices to support the STM32MP1 series application processor versions.
The STPMIC1C is not a programmed device to support custom applications
Although pre-programmed, versions A, B, D and E can also be reprogrammed to any other value.
Good luck!

Thanks for the response @Peter BENSCH

My challenge is that none of those variants are available for order, and the lead times are just to faraway considering this will be used to learn and prototype.

Is there any other device that can be used or will it be possible to prototype with the STM32MP157D microprocessor without using the STPMIC1?

Same problem.... We have a custom board but we are unable to find the STPMIC1A in stock. The MPU is available but no PMIC. Why doesn't ST provide sample stock? We need a few pcs for prototyping.
