STSW-STWBCGUI Graphical user interface for wireless power transmitter. How comes the software is so bad?

Hello,

is it just me or is the software just not working at all?

Using a pretty new Windows 10 machine and trying to connect the STSW-STWBCGUI Graphical user interface Version 3.48 to the development boards STEVAL-ISB027V1 and STEVAL-ISB045V1.

Doesnt seem to work at all. And if I have everything connected and place for example a coin on the coil, the whole software stops working until I remove the coin. Not able to do any useful communication.
