Hello,
I hope you are doing well.
I am currently facing critical issues with my RAK3172 module and STM32Cube Programmer setup and urgently need your technical support. Here are the details:
1. RAK3172 Module Issue (LoRa P2P Communication)
Initially, the module booted up correctly, but now it does not enter boot mode.
I receive a "baud rate not detected" error when attempting to communicate.
The RAK Firmware Upgrade Tool fails with a device timeout error, and STM32CubeProgrammer does not work either.
Despite this, I can still read the firmware version from the port, so I’m unsure if the IC is damaged.
2. ST-Link & STM32Cube Programmer Issue
The device only connects in Hot Plug mode when I press the reset button.
In normal mode, it fails to connect and shows RDP Level 0.
Releasing the reset button causes an immediate disconnection.
I am unable to erase the chip, even in Hot Plug mode or while holding the reset button.
Request for Support
Could you please help me resolve these issues? Specifically:
Are there any hardware requirements (e.g., resistors, connections) I might be missing?
Is there a way to recover the IC or troubleshoot further?
Could this indicate a hardware fault, or is it a firmware/configuration issue?
I urgently need to get this working and would greatly appreciate your prompt assistance. Please let me know the next steps or any debugging methods I should try.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Best regards,
Hetal

This is primarily a user-to-user forum.
If you want direct support from ST, raise a ticket here: https://ols.st.com/s/
It's a 3rd-party module by RAKWireless - have you tried contacting them for support?

A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.
