2.5" or 3.5" hard disk drives HDDs use what type of flash memory to store bios, firmware, SMART and what is the data retention time on that chip? I know they use a PCB

Firmware is typically in NOR FLASH, other code might be stored in cylinders on the drive itself, at the very least bad track/sector data, etc.

I've got NOR devices that have survived 30 years.

However given Moore's law the technologies change and shrink over time, so people aren't building equipment today using tech from 1990's, so the density and geometry perhaps make it less reliable, but robustness these days come from hamming and ECC type recovery, and remapping blocks.

I have recent 2.5" Seagate 500GB HDDs and other WD, HGTS from 2010 and 2014 1TB, do they all use NOR flash to store firmware, Smart, bios?

The temperature in my city varies between 33-35C

Perhaps you'd do better asking a company that does commercial data recovery, and understand what makes and models use what, and a field level understanding of failure modes and frequency.

If you want to keep data for a long time, store it using different technologies and methods.

I asked the manufacturers and no one answered. I don't know how many memory chips the 2.5" and 3.5" HDD PCB has, but it has firmware, bios, smart

Like I said the "Data Recovery" specialists. But obviously they are seeing the worst outcomes, not necessarily the most wistful projections in the best cases.
